Witty commentary on the lives, loves, rituals, and foibles of gay life in America looks at the ins and outs of commitment ceremonies, dressing in drag, lesbian haircuts, health club culture, tattoos, and other topics. Original. Tour.
I finally gave a little giggle about 80% of the way through, so apparently I am not the target audience for this particular humor. Very disappointed at the nearly complete lack of bisexual+ representation (despite people with a plural sexuality are more than half of the queer community). There was one sentence on page 243 about bisexuals though. It's a neat historical document. Young people won't understand the idea of paying for long distance calls. :)
I am loving this! It is hilarious but dated. I would even go as far as saying that it's more hilarious than it should be because it's dated. I'm almost finished reading it. It's very much worth the time and effort of reading it. Snarky and sarcastic, full immersed in stereotypes and unapologetic about it. It's just my kinda book.
