"Laughter is the tonic, the relief, the surcease for pain" ~ Charlie Chaplin

Two Wallflowers fell in love, now One Heart Remains. Will love score a trifecta for the nutty band of friends?

Poppy Gentry is broken. A ghost of who she should be. She hides behind her wit; avoiding stress by living inside her head. However, one man won't let her hide. With the unconditional support of her friends, Sienna Miller and Cali Armstrong, can Poppy find the courage to let love in and allow it to heal her fractured soul?

Nate Jacobs learned a hard truth when he was a child: sometimes the monsters in the dark are the very people who should protect you with their life. Battling his own demons, Nate vows to slay Poppy's dragons first, but who will slay his?

Will Poppy succumb to the muscled-bound Neanderthal or stand her ground? Will Nate give her a happily ever after like any proper Southern gentleman should?

If I could give CP Smith a standing ovation. I would. She can weave a story with wit, suspense, drama, romance and steam like a champ. I laughed out loud and teared up. Sucked in from page 1, I didn't want this story to end. She does alpha to a T. I want to be friends with this gang!

HERO~ Nate was fantastic. He did not have an easy go of it. However, he chose to not let his rough childhood define him. He worked hard to overcome his past and make something of himself. He had a successful business, a great relationship with his mom, and wonderful friends. He was a good man who would give you the shirt off his back and be there when needed. He was patient and kind with Poppy, which had to be trying as she was quite a handful.

HEROINE~ Poppy - loved her. I was afraid that she was going to push Nate away the whole book and she didn't. She just kept getting zinged left and right but she didnt succumb to it. She kept on going. With the help of the Wallflowers and Nate, she fought through it all. She was so funny. The things she would say had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion.

SEXUAL HISTORY~ not dwelled on (thankfully). Neither were virgins but not many details were given

OM/OW DRAMA ~ OM drama- none
OW drama- a woman who went to college with Nate made an appearance. She flirted with him and it was shut down completely. Nate never had any kind of a relationship with her ever.

VIOLENCE No violence of a sexual nature on page. Talk of a previous incident that was not detailed

SECONDARY CHARACTERS I loved having a dose of the other Wallflowers and their guys. Not to mention Bernice and Eunice! I adore these characters.

SAFETY Safe- Neither are with others after they meet.

ENDING~ No epilogue. It is extremely rare for me to give a 5 star to a book with no epilogue (the last one was book 2 in this very series) I adored the story so much and the fact that its promised that there will be another book soon tipped my rating to 5 stars. I so look forward to the next book which will be Bernice's story as part of the Happily Ever Alpha world in April.

It ended just a little too perfectly...

***3.5 Stars***

I liked One Heart Remains but I did struggle with it a little bit. There's a lot of stuff that happens and yet nearly every issue is resolved in a good way. Sure, it's romance and I do like my happy endings but geez, if you want me to believe even a little that it could be real, it can't ALL be perfect. The baddies all get caught and sent to jail. The goodies all end with goofy smiles on their faces, love in their eyes and all of their past issues have just disappeared. The excess baggage (you know, the dodgy relative who betrays you) is kicked to the kerb and we'll never have to see them again. All of this will appeal to lots of readers, but, unfortunately, I'm having a pretty average week so it made my eyes just about roll out of my head.

Saying that, there are parts of this story that gave me happy buzzes. I'm a sucker for finding fellow romance readers. Yes, they were just characters, but they were so real and definitely bookaholics I could relate to. Especially when they were comparing their dramas to tropes. I do that sometimes and even have a storyline playing out in my head as I deal with everyday issues.

There is a LOT going on in One Heart Remains. From start to finish we're following the madcap adventures of the Wallflowers. As the heroes in the series tell us often throughout the story, it's like trouble is drawn to them. Calla, Sienna and Poppy seem to be always walking into burning buildings. Luckily, they have Devin, Bo and Nate to run in, chuck them over their shoulder, and save them just in the nick of time.

One Heart Remains is full of intrigue, drama, conflict and emotions. Poppy has demons from her past that she's never faced until now. Her father drops back into her life and expects to just be forgiven for his desertion. Poppy also has to face her attraction to a man she may not have the courage to connect with. It will take time, but Nate isn't willing to accept anything but a happy and content Poppy, in his life. But, Nate will have to face his own demons before he can fully accept her in his life.

The characters were intense, the storyline was a little OTT but the sexy times definitely helped to get past any issues I had. I'm a wee bit of a sucker for a big and physical man who knows what he wants and takes it. Nate admits to having anger issues and it's pretty obvious that it will always be a problem for him. I felt like the author should have addressed this as an ongoing problem, not just excuse it by being in the heat of the moment. If Poppy was seeing a counsellor to address her issues, I just felt that Nate could have used the same sort of service for his anger.

All good. Yes, it wasn't perfect but it was engaging enough that I never considered giving up.
I'm glad I've read the whole series and that we're getting a wee bit more next year.

**Disclaimer: I highly recommend reading these three books in order. You won't regret it.**

Nate and Poppy, both broken by past experiences from those who should've protected them, been there for them, and yet these two halves are being made whole by one another.

Poppy's entire life has been tainted, shadowed by the actions of her absentee father and then again by a boyfriend she trusted. What's left is a woman that doesn't trust any man yet yearns for the ability to do so. As she and long-time friend, Sienna, discover they're connected far more than they could've ever imagined, they must adjust to what that means and leads to the two of them and their new friend, Calla, these three Wallflowers show yet again how resilient they are.

Nate believes he is meant to be his father even though he's never displayed any such thing. But the fear is keeping him back from admitting his feelings for Poppy, the woman he knows is meant to be his. She's just as skittish, for reasons he doesn't know yet, but neither can stop him from being there for her whenever she needs him.

Can these two overcome their pasts and see the future that awaits them together? Can Poppy accept the truth of what she once believed and let her father in? Will Nate ever realize he is not his father? Will Nate lose Poppy before they even get a chance to explore their destiny? Is a HEA possible?

One-click now and follow along as two people, both hurting from painful childhoods, must choose whether to risk their hearts.

5 ‘Being a Wallflower is for life’ Stars

Oh my… It is finally here! The last of the Wallflowers’ HEA! And what a story Ms. Smith gave to Poppy and Nate, they sure deserve all the happiness in the world, and that’s what they got. And us, we got the most AHHHMAZING and heart touching of stories! The perfect wrap up for these Wallflowers! WALLFLOWERS FOREVER!

From the very first WF book of this series I’ve been dying for Nate and Poppy’s story, from right then we could see that with the walls both had around then and their banter, a very interesting tale would follow. And we sure aren’t disappointed, quite the opposite, with these two revealing Ms. Smith’s incredible writing. The beautiful rawness of Nate and Poppy’s emotions wouldn’t have touched us so deeply if not for the authors’ amazing storytelling talent and undeniable connection with the characters. The complexity of both of them and their feelings and ghost just made the story that more richer and relatable. They were truly two pieces of a whole. Two broken souls meant to heal one another and live a beautiful and epic love…

With that one touch, she’d shattered some the walls he’d erected to keep her at bay and reached inside his soul, carving a place inside his heart.

He said he was gonna fix me. Well I was gonna fix him too. Then we both could wear the scars of our past as a badge of honor, rather than defeat.

I’d help him forget about his past by being his future.

This book really had it ALL!!! I honestly cried, laughed, giggled and even raged right along with these two – or should I say with the whole six?! LOL – but most of all I felt the deep seated connection between these Wallflowers, a true sisterhood, whom I belonged to, and was right there along with them on all their shenanigans. It was awesome!!!

So, one can say that most of all this whole series is truly about LOVE… Friendship, paternal, maternal, sisterly, romantic and passionate love. Love in all its shapes and forms, love is the base and love is the prize – with Nate and Poppy here finding their soulmate and HEA – so it’s only fitting that I feel in unforgettable LOVE for all these characters, and stories, therefore being so, so joyful happy that we will get much more of them and take many glimpses more into their future and their HEA! I can NOT wait!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“You can’t hold back that kind of spirit. That wildness like you possess. It’s like tryin’ to smother the light from a star. It’ll seep around the edges until all that beauty breaks free.

You’re the one who saved me from the darkness. Saved my life. I trust you, Nate, with my whole heart. With everything I am. I-I love you.”

I finished Until Joe and remembered I hadn't read book three in the wallflowers series. Don't even ask why not as I have no idea. I think it's because I had to wait and I had forgotten what had happened in the previous two so I just kept putting it off. But after I put down Until Joe I just needed more C.P. Smith so I jumped on Amazon and it was a KU title so I jumped right in.

So yeah that was my Sunday. Because once I picked it up I was completely immersed in all things wallflowers and their Neanderthal, alpha men. I don't know how I forgot how obsessed I was with this series but OMG I loved it.

Poppy was such a sweetheart and for everything she went through she was forged in fire. I loved how she brought everything back to book tropes and storylines. She was hilarious and sweet and everything about her made me love her.

But naturally I am in serious love with Nate aka Bodacious Bar Owner. He can throw me over his shoulder any day. Aside from the fact he is physically flawless, his jealous, protective care of Poppy was beautiful. I loved these two as a couple so much.

And even with all the tropes Poppy pointed out for us going on in this story I couldn't get enough. Everything worked so well together and was resolved so perfectly I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to see the next book in the series and see which of our wallflowers is having a highland wedding.

One Heart Remains is EVERYTHING! I am OBSESSED with Poppy and Nate. I loved everything about this book!! It had everything thing I love a alpha, strong h, friendship and ALL the feels.

CP Smith is the Johnny Cash of words. She is a master of her craft. I. AM. OBSESSED.

I think we all have a little Wallflower in us.

“We’re called Wallflowers because they’re determined. They fight against nature and grow even when the odds say they won’t. They burrow under solid concrete, break through brittle bricks to free themselves from the confines of their past. They seek the light. The freedom to be who they were meant to be: wild and free,” she explained with passion. “That’s why we’re called the Wallflowers. We won’t let anything restrict us. We curl around what we want out of life and hang on tight to our convictions. To who and what we love. And just like those beautiful flowers that reach beyond the confines life throws at them, there lies a heart of a fighter in each one of us. One who holds on with everything she has for the right to be exactly what she is: unique in a garden of ordinary.”

5 Glorious Wallflower Stars!

In this third book of The Wallflowers series we’re finally treated to Nate and Poppy story. This book can be read as a stand-alone however I highly recommend reading the series from the beginning.

Poppy's past is heartbreaking, as a infant she was entrusted to a family member to keep her safe. However that family member didn’t do a very good job and because she was neglected, it left her open to a predator. Poppy’s head is not in a good place but she’s stronger than she realizes. Her past still haunts her, which now puts her future happiness in jeopardy. Luckily for Poppy, for the first time in her life she is not alone. Poppy has her Wallflower's and now.....Nate.

The Wallflowers always stick together, and tend to attract trouble....to the dismay of the men in their lives. The Wallflowers will always have each other’s backs. Calla, Sienna and Poppy face their trials and turbulations together through thick and thin, mishaps and mayhem, and finally their happily ever afters.

 photo 140258B3-AE0A-41F3-9891-F5C07CF23452_zpscflxnzpb.jpeg

Nate was fantastic Alpha Hero. His past was heartbreaking and traumatic. Because of his past he worked hard to make something of himself. He has a successful business, loyal friends, and a Mother who adores him. He’s a good man who, even with all his accomplishments his past haunts him.

Nate has had Poppy in his sights since he first laid eyes on her. During an emotional reunion, Poppy leans on Nate for strength and that’s when Nate decides to finally make Poppy his! I loved Nate, he’s patient, kind, and of course he’s alpha growly protective of Poppy. Loving Poppy isn’t easy.....the Wallflowers are quite a handful and naturally they find trouble around every corner!

Once again CP Smith weaves a story of love, loyalty, friendship, and happily-ever-afters (with tasty Alphas!). The Wallflowers along with Calla’s enduring aunties will have you wishing that you were part of their wacky trio. 💕

* Well done Teeny, another fantastic Wallflower story. Thank you for allowing me the honor of reviewing for you!!

ARC received for an honest review

What an absolutely amazing story. I have enjoyed seeing bits of bobs of Nate and Poppy during the first 2 books in the series, and I have been impatiently awaiting the arrival of One Heart Remains.

And MS Smith had not disappointed.

One Heart Remains is a lot more emotional than the previous two books (to me anyway). Nate and Poppy both see themselves as broken, however the reader has seen them circling each other, becoming closer and unknowingly healing each other for a while now.

There is the wonderful, intense connection between them that neither can deny, no matter how much they want to.

The Wallflowers bond is friendship goals. When they could drift apart as each of them falls into a relationship, they do the opposite. They get closer, they draw the guys into their circle and their bonds become more intense.

I couldn't help but shed a tear or two as we learn more of Nate and Poppy's pasts. My heart hurt for both of them, however I knew that Ms Smith would heal it for me.

I didn't want to put this book down, as I needed to know what was happening to our lovelies.

Ms Smith has a way of drawing the reader into the lives of her characters, and I for one never want to leave.

I am looking forward to "Joe's" story, and whatever Ms Smith brings us next.

CP Smith is one of my top favorite authors. And this is not just because her books are amazing, which they are, but because she is amazing. I've met her in person and chatted with her online many times and I've found she's not just a talented author, but she's a genuine and kind person. She's the type of author that's approachable and makes you feel comfortable in opening a dialogue with her. For me, that gives her books a little something extra. She puts her heart and soul into her writing and, not to get all mushy, but it means a lot that she's willing to give a part of herself to her readers like she does. With all that being said, One Heart Remains is definitely one of her best books in my humble opinion. Not only was it a highly anticipated book, but there's a lot in there that I know was Teeny (CP Smith) giving us a part of herself. I understand how readers will project their personal feelings into books but at the same time I hate that. I am an avid reader. Like, it's my life lol besides my kids. But the thing is, it's romance. It's fiction. Yes some authors will tell stories that have bits and pieces of truth in them but the overall stories are not real. The thing that people need to get is that reading is both an escape from reality and an outlet for authors to express their feelings and emotions in a way that feels right to them. I hate when readers expect books to be 100% reality based when they're not. They need to learn to suspend reality for a minute to enjoy the books they're reading. Not all characters will react to circumstances like we personally would, and that needs to be accepted. I say this because there is an aspect in this book that could possibly cause a little controversy among readers, that being Poppy's reaction to something that happened to her. I won't go into too many details so that I don't spoil anything, but that was something I needed to get off my chest right off the bat.

Now, my thoughts about this book. Omg! It was awesome! I laughed, I cried, I yelled and I squealed in excitement! All. The. Feels. That equals a damn good book for me! I loved everything. How the girls all came together again to rally around the last Wallflower in her time of need. These women have such a strong bond and they really epitomize the word friendship. Poppy had a hard time letting love in due to feelings of abandonment and a trying childhood. That didn't stop the girls from burrowing into her heart and it really didn't stop Nate from barging through her walls to claim her heart. And oh boy, did he! When I read the first book in this series, Devin was The Man and I honestly didn't think anyone could or would top him. Bo tried real hard, but tbh he didn't quite make it. (I loved him but Devin was still my #1) However, Nate came along and wouldn't stop until he took the top spot. 😍 He and Poppy were really made for each other. Nate had some issues he needed to work through as well, and they almost stopped him from pursuing Poppy. Together they worked through them and came out stronger for it. There's a lot happening in this book. It's the longest of the three and with all the shenanigans the girls get into and the dramas that need to be worked out, there is no way I can give a recap that will do the book justice without giving away any spoilers, so I'll leave that to the professional, CP, and just say that this book is definitely worth your time to sit and read. Or like me, devour! ❤ I really enjoy Mrs. Smith's writing style and her books always leave me in a book hangover. I loved this one so much and I sincerely hope other readers will as well. ❤

I'll leave you with this liiiiittle spoilerish diddy... I cannot wait for Until Joe!!!! The epilogue was to. die. for. Talk about leaving a girl hanging for the next book! Poppy and Nate's story was complete, but there's another love story coming our way and it is gonna be EPIC! ❤ 😏

What a amazing story! I loved watching Poppy and Nate’s relationship bloom throughout the first 2 books. I had been impatiently waiting for this book since I finished Sienna and Bo’s story and SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I was gifted an ARC and once I started the story I had a hard time putting it down. Poppy’s and Nate’s story is both beautiful and tragic. Nate is the ultimate alpha male and Poppy is a witty, sarcastic southern belle. Perfect mix for a love story, right? Loved, loved, loved this book.❤️

I loved Poppy and Nate's story. It was so heart felt too read about two people who were wounded but found healing with the love they have for each other.I also liked how Nate protected Poppy and Poppy protected him I felt the story had a nice flow as well as some awesome side character action and of course it had some realllly hot moments. It was a perfect ending to this chapter of Wallflowers.

“You’re sisters of my heart, and my blood,” I announced. “I love you more than words can express.” — Poppy

CP Smith is the master of all things alpha and insta love. She has yet again wrote another 5 star, heartwarming, romantic, emotional and humorous book with an amazing cast of characters.

Poppy, Sienna, and Calla Lilly — The Wallflowers — This hilarious, gorgeous, stubborn, and strong group of women are some of my most favorite characters ever written. The bond that these three have in such a short amount of time is such a beautiful thing. The build each other up and help keep each other rooted in who they truly are. These ladies can get through anything as long as they have each other.

“Any reservations he still had about being his fathers son, paled in comparison to his need to heal what Poppy’s father had broken. And he’d do just that by giving her a healthy dose of what she needed most. A man she could trust”.—
Nate

Nate is my favorite CP hero of all time. Hands down. That man is super possessive, alpha, stubborn, sexy, gorgeous, strong, jealous, loving, sweet, and a little broken (my favorite!). The minute he knows Poppy needs him he’s all in. He takes all of his “baggage” and puts it on the back burner to help his woman stay safe and to help her heal.

“Baby...”, that name. The tone of his deep voice, whispering it like I meant something to him, would be my undoing.” — Poppy

Poppy. Sweet, quirky, stubborn, hilarious, beautiful and broken Poppy. I loved her so much. She was such a strong yet fragile heroine that needed a strong man like Nate to fix her broken heart. She takes you on an emotional rollercoaster and I loved every minute of it.

Together these two damaged characters (and with the help of their amazing friends) help put back together their broken pieces. One piece at a time.

“Because the sharp-witted princess is really a ghost. A ghost of a girl who just pretends to be real.” — Poppy

If you’re looking for a book that has everything you could possibly want and need.. than look no further. This book is packed full of action, suspense, humor, mystery, alpha males, strong heroines, steam and a love so strong you know it will last forever.

This book is probably one of my most anticipated books this year.. and man it did not disappoint. One click this amazing finish to an amazing series!

Oh my heart! I do not know if I am going to be able to get across how much I loved this book! This is the highly anticipated story of Poppy and Nate and it was amazing!! This is a love story between two individual who see themselves as broken but have this intense connection towards each other. For different reasons, they believe they can not have what their friends have found. Both Poppy and Nate’s individual story is heartbreaking but they are such incredibly strong people. In the beginning Nate fought his feelings towards Poppy hard, but when Poppy is faced with her painful past his deep-seated need to protect switched on. But he had a battle ahead of him. Poppy had been hurt far more than anyone really knows and her walls were thick, but Nate would not give up without a fight.

What I really loved was how determined Nate was. This trait was frustrating when he was fighting his feelings for Poppy, but when it was overruled by his need to slay her dragons, it was awesome! Their journey to their HEA was not an easy one, it was not only Poppy’s past that hindered the way, but Nate’s demons also came rearing its head. But by this time, Nate was the most important person in her life and it was her turn to hunt him down.

I absolutely adored this book! This was well worth the wait and I cannot recommend highly enough! Now I cannot wait for Bernice and Joe’s story.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Well, I won’t lie and say the wait for Poppy and Nate’s story has been easy but boy was it worth it ❤️ I loved every single step of this story, the Wallflowers unwavering bond, their shenanigans and outrageous behaviour means that any story about them is never dull but Poppy and Nate’s story has a lot of depth to it, old hurts that are still very fresh, two broken people coming together to nurture and heal each other. There really wasn’t a thing I didn’t love about this story and I’m so glad that we’re getting more because I’m not ready to say goodbye to some of my favourite characters.

Thank you CP Smith, for giving us these stories, and for showing that even the wallflowers of the world have fantastic stories to tell!

Can't believe this is the end of the Wallflowers!! And what an ending it was <3

Poppy and Nate's story was a beautiful emotional story because they were two broken people that were afraid to let someone in because they knew that letting each other in their lives would brake them beyond what they could ever bare!

Their story will have you laughing, yelling, crying and did I mention laughing :0)

C.P. Smith does an awesome job capturing your attention to the very last word and leaving you wanting more...hint, hint!! Kara~ 4.5 Stars

I took part in watching this beautiful story come to life. While this gracious lady understood my life and family situation kept me from being a big help she never left me out. To see these 3 wallflowers all find the men who tried and failed to tame their winding vines was just magic. I loved Poppy and Nate probably the most out of the 3 pairs. And knowing Bernice will get her hea in Until Joe wow.
So much suspense and secondary characters that keep you flipping the pages. But the best part is the devoted love story between two people who just complete each other.

Oh, mylanta. This Wallflowers series is so freaking good. If this is the first you're hearing about CP Smith (insert evil side eye here) check out books 1 and 2 in this amazing series - 3 of a kind is 1 and Double trouble is book 2. Each story is based around the happily ever after of one of the Wallflowers ladies. One Heart Remains is Poppy's story. And oh what a story it is.

Story Line: Poppy's story was the hardest for me to swallow. Her past - the heavy weight she carries - is nothing short of heartbreaking. Each Wallflower - Cali, Sienna and Poppy have a broken past filled with obstacles to overcome. Poppy, however, her story may just break your heart like it did mine. But don't worry, her connection to Nate will Gorilla Glue your heart back together and make it good as new.

When Nate and Poppy meet, there's a zing of attraction that passes between them, that promptly sends them both running in the opposite direction. We see a glimpse of what's to come for these two love birds in Double Trouble (Sienna's story). But it's not until this book that we finally get to the bottom of why these two have built the great wall of China around their battered hearts. And let me tell you, prepare for waterworks. Not only is Poppy's story painful, but holy crap so is Nate's. I actually think I cried more for Nate than I did Poppy, or maybe I was crying for both of them simultaneously? Regardless, I shed a few thousand tears reading how these two beautifully broken souls found solace in one another. Their story isn't easy, but it was absolutely my favorite.

Interaction: Here's the thing about these girls. They are hilarious. Cali, Sienna and Poppy are witty, clumsy, sarcastic and so beautiful inside and out. They keep these hunky guys on their toes literally at all times. Nate is 6 and a half foot of pure testosterone filled alpha male. And here's Poppy. Sweet, sassy and fiercely independent. It should come as no surprise here that these two butt heads quite a bit. Nate wants her to chill out and let him take care of things, and she wants no part of that. She is the epitome of "curious as a kitten". And funny I should use that phrase since Nate calls her Kitten - which is officially the cutest thing ever.

Laundry: Good Lord. Grab yourself a fan and a cool compress. Nate and Poppy bring the heat. This was a naughty slow burn, but honestly? It was perfectly paced. Nate's past and especially Poppy's past required them to take things slow. And there was a lot of c-blocking going on here too. I mean, things would start to heat up and them BAM here's more drama to try and wrap your head around. But anywho, you want to know about the laundry. Well you can relax and know that Nate is a beast and Poppy is one lucky lady because OH MAMA. I could fantasize about that man and his abilities all night long.

Depth: I don't think there's enough hours in the day for me to elaborate on the depth to these Wallflowers books. They are so much more than just fantastic love stories. They are complex with beautifully rounded characters that make the most astounding transformations. Nate and Poppy's characters both grow so much throughout their story. They overcome fears, doubts and awful memories to not only keep their heads above water, but to truly bloom as the individuals they are meant to be.

I think it goes without saying, now that I've read all 3 of these books (which have the most gorgeous covers I've ever seen, by the way) I am waiting oh so anxiously for Until Joe to come out spring 2019. Poppy and Nate were a fabulous end to the Wallflowers stories. Poppy is severely traumatized (not broken, though she thinks she is) from events in her childhood. Nate is also a survivor of abuse and trauma and feels that he’s not worth Poppy’s love. The snark and sarcasm these two toss out, along with the bedazzling of Gertie, make for a beautiful end to how the Wallflowers found their HEAs.

Even with drama, suspense, and danger in the air, Poppy, Nate, and their friends manage to stick together like the chosen family they are to find the answers to their problems. Poppy discovers that having family closer than she’d imagined, a father who always loved her, and the love of a good man can help heal her wounds...along with some good therapy. Nate, meanwhile, discovers that love can heal him and that the love of a good woman is sweeter than just about anything else in life and decides to stop trying to hide his heart from the woman he’s loved since their first meeting. I also especially enjoyed the tie-in to Aurora Rose Reynolds’s Until world and can’t wait to see Bernice and Joe again next year.

I truly appreciate the realness that CP Smith brought to this story. She gave us the dark, the ugly, the love that can let the light in, and the truth that talking to a professional can all work together in harmony to make a person whole again. She managed to keep the story relatively light (meaning no super-dark, but there could be triggers for some survivors) while showing how deep a man’s love can truly run for a woman and what lengths he’ll go to in order to help her heal herself. Overall, she wowed me again with her ability to spin a story that I was loathe to put down, yet sad to finish at the same time. Well played, CP. Well played.

I have loved every book that I have read by CP Smith, but Nate and Poppy's story has got to be my favorite. There's so much pain in each of their pasts neither feels worthy of love. With heart, soul, friendship, and humor the author mends her broken characters and gives them what every person deserves: love and a happily ever after.
Like all of Ms. Smith's books, insta-love and alpha males go hand in hand. However, no matter what he feels, Nate tries to stay away from the woman he's fallen for, fearing that apples don't fall far from the parental tree. That is until Poppy's past rears it's ugly head and calls to his inner Neandarthal to protect his woman.
I love the bonds of friendship Ms. Smith weaves throughout this series. The three men are more like brothers than friends, but they all have one thing in common: the need to protect their Wallflower. Poppy, Cali, and Sienna also have a special bond, but theirs always seems to lead them into trouble.
The storyline is original, the writing crisp and the plot well-paced, add in great characters and prepare for a great story. There is a lot going on the this book but the author does an amazing job of tying up all the loose ends and maybe, just maybe leaving one for a future book.

Goodreads needs to have a “way more than 5 Stars” option. I would definitely use it on this one!!

Nate and Poppy’s story was so much more than I imagined. I was so excited for this one, I love the wallflowers series. Ok, I love everything C.P. writes if I’m being honest. This one not only held the laughs but it also gave you the tears.

Nate and Poppy were both broken from there past’s. Way more broken then you knew from past books. Being able to witness Nate finally saying “I’m don’t fighting this” and going after his woman, was so much fun. Witnessing them saving each other was beautiful.

I loved this story so much! I loved them all but I have to say this one has gotta be my favorite out of the series.

C.P. Smith I will read anything you write!!

🌸My favorite Wallflower book!🌸This book was so beautiful.
Poppy and Nate’s story was beautiful, romantic but also so tragic and heartbreaking.
Both were broken but love how they overcame it with the help of each other.
Nate..so protective, Alpha and possessive..😍
In the previous books you could see how attracted he was to Poppy, but when he finally claimed her I squeeeed..💗
I laughed, swooned, cursed and was at the edge of my seat..loved all the emotions it brought in me.
So sad to see this series end.. only the BIG epilogue left.
Thank you CP Smith (Teeny) for an amazing journey with these awesome wallflowers.

🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 5 Wallflowers stars.

I absolutely loved this story. Then again every story in this series was freaking amazing. But Nate and Poppy's story just had me hooked from the start. I couldn't stop once I started.

Poppy and Nate's past just broke my heart and the way Nate protected her just melted me. Everything about this story will have you hooked. The romance, the angst, the action, the suspense amazing.
You will definitely devour this book from start to finish.

4 "rough start but totally worth it" Stars

Being a fan of Ms. Smith’s writing and having read the previous Wallflowers stories, I was eager to jump into One Heart Remains – Poppy and Nate’s story. And while I struggled a bit in the beginning, I’m very happy I powered through as I ended up enjoying their courtship just as much as I expected.

Let me get this out of the way first: I’m a firm believer that reading and enjoyment of said reading depends a great deal on the reader’s mood. As sometimes happens when you read an ARC copy, you don’t really have the luxury of waiting to be in the mood for certain topics or tropes, you need to finish the book ASAP. And herein laid my struggle when I first started this one, as I was not in the mood at all for a heroine to be in denial and run away from the hero at every turn.

I have loved Poppy’s quirkiness, sarcasticness and all over the place thought process since we first met her. And getting to be in her head, I loved all of this even more. So even though the first 30% of the book was a pain in my patootie and had me skimming over her self-doubt and self-worth issue monologues, once she opened herself up to Nate’s pursuit and healing, I had no more complaints.

Nate was the main reason I powered through the slow beginning, as he pulls his head out of his patootie from moment one and sets to win Poppy over and help her overcome all her childhood issues. He was alpha, bossy, protective and possessive… everything I was hoping him to be and more. He was p-e-r-f-e-c-t perfect.

“You’re mine, and you fuckin’ know it. If you try to fighting this, I’ll just wear you down until I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.”

Nate had some issues of his own, as well as encouraging Poppy to fight hers. Their chemistry was off the charts scorching and their time together was not only hot, but emotionally satisfying as hell.

“I’m gonna fuck you hard. Make you scream with release; then I’ll do it all over again until the only thing you feel is wanted. Fuckin’ beautiful.”

“There’s no goin’ back. If I claim this body, I won’t give it back. You’re fuckin’ mine.”

While this can be read as a standalone, it kicks off exactly where the last book finished: in the middle of a scene where the poop has hit an industrial size fan and it’s spattered everywhere…so if you don’t want to be completely lost for the first bit, I recommend reading at least Double Trouble before jumping into this one.

With an absolute perfect broody, sexy alpha and a quirky and sassy damsel in distress, action, some mystery and really hot shenanigans,One Heart Remains charmed me in spite of the rough start. It left me with a goofy smile at all the Wallflowers antics and I can’t freaking wait to get to read Aunt Bernice’s story!!!!!!

"Just like her counterparts, Poppy seemed to be made up of equal parts strength and beauty."

Wallflowers: One Heart Remains is my favorite book yet! The author does not disappoint you with Poppys story. It just seems I can NOT get enough of these crazy fun Wallflowers. I devoured these pages like a women possed! One Heart Remains packed all the feels that my heart needed! It was a emotional roller coaster ride I did not want to get off of. Poppy, Calla, and Sienna are honestly friendship goals. They are a breath of fresh air, and always taking you on a amazing journey. Now let's talk Poppy and Nate. Man are they absolutely explosive! Their chemistry was smoking HOT and absolutely perfect together. I did not see so many things coming in this book. It was full of surprises, heartache, and angst! I honestly can NOT recommend this series enough!

“Fiery attitude. Hisses at anyone who dares come too close. Skin so soft I want to run my hands all over your body until you’re moanin’ my name . . . You’re my Kitten.”

Poppy was a whirlwind of emotion. She was seriously one of those heroines you could not help but love. She has always been my faborite Wallflower and her story only cemented that more. Even though Poppy was haunted by the insecurities of her past, she always remained strong. My heart ached for the little girl haunted by demons from her past. While the rest of me admired the strong willed, independent women her character became.

"Hope that maybe a miracle, in the form of a brooding male with eyes the color of dark, hickory coffee, might be my saving grace." <\b>

Nate is hands down one of the most caveman alpha hero's I have read. And. I. LOVED. Every. Second. Of. It! Nate demanded your attention, all while slowly dominating your heart. He had me melting into a puddle of swoons so many times with his charming ways. My heart ached for Nate so many times. He too was haunted by the demons of his past. And a vulnerable Nate hits you right in the feels.

"Wallflowers it seemed, both the women and the flowers, were as resilient as they were beautiful."

*4&1/2 STARS*
Well earned for another great installment to the Wallflowers series. If you have not started these books you are missing out.

Now used to the hi-jinx that the "wallflowers" get up to and just off of a huge reveal, One Heart Remains held the promise of more action, adventure and new, true love for our final girl, Poppy. But Poppy's guarded and facing down a life long demon.

There's lots of layers to the story, Poppy's lineage, her unexpected connection to Sienna, and an experience from her childhood that left her fundamentally afraid of intimacy. Nate, like the other alpha's in Krieg, Georgia, has his own reasons for resisting Poppy, but he's defenseless to the pull he feels toward her. Will Nate be the right man for her, despite her distrust and his hang ups? Will the Wallflowers be able to stay out of trouble long enough to give them the chance? I think we know the answer to that.

I loved being in Poppy's head as she list out the possible tropes or her story of romance : " I also added a comment in the side notes that stated character arc would be adjusted as new developments came in." Her imagination is splendid and not to far off from how things go down. Yes, there's a few near misses and the ladies ignore the pleas of their men and embark on a few ill timed investigations ( err, vacations).

One Hearts Remains was a great conclusion to the series and left us with taste of what CP Smith intends to share next. She's among the best writers of modern alpha men so I for one am looking forward to her next book in the spring of 2019.

Good story, but just tired of the repetition.

I liked the story, but the one thing that prevented me from giving this one 4 stars instead of 3 was all that talk about being a "Wallflower". It's one thing to mention it once or twice, but it felt life every other paragraph was about being a Wallflower:

“Wallflowers don’t faint, have the vapors, or otherwise swoon."

“Wallflowers don’t have breakdowns."

"Wallflowers who didn’t know a thing about fashion. We preferred jeans and T-shirts to haute couture."

"Wallflowers have each other’s backs with either friend or foe. That means if you can’t agree with me, then you must be supportive in my anger. It’s Wallflower code.”

"Wallflowers forever!"

It just got to be TOO MUCH and ruined my actual enjoyment of the story. I just really wanted the author to move on with the story and stop all the Wallflower talk. I mean, it's already in the series name, and shouldn't authors understand the art of being subtle instead of forcing it down our throats every other sentence?

I AM excited about the tie-in with an Aurora Rose Reynolds series. I'm just hoping that the focus would be on the story and not on the Wallflower stuff. It shouldn't have so many references to Wallflowers as it is not part of that series.

Ahhh this book and series is AMAZING! I absolutely LOVED the third book to the Wallflowers series. There is action, humor and so much heart. Nate is beyond dreamy, seriously how does CP Smith create such fantastic guys, that are real, rough and so loveable. The reason for me this book is four stars instead of five had mostly to do with my own personal issues I had at times with Poppy. I truly think its just my own personal thing, so don't let that stop you from reading and devouring this book. CP Smith has a beuatiful entertaining way of writing that keeps you hooked from the very first page. The second I was finished I reread the whole series again, that just made it even better! I am not ready to leave these ladies so I am grateful for the bits and pieces to come. This is a series I highly suggest! Start with book one and read in order.
