The Christian An Explanation & Comparison of World Religions is an easy-to-read comparative based on content from experts and from actual sacred texts of the various world religions and global cults and sects. Various writers describe the non-Christian religions respectfully and accurately while making the case that Christianity is uniquely blessed by the one true God and beneficial to humanity, creating a book that helps Christians understand other world religions so that Christians can defend their faith and reach out to others with the Gospel.
Good book on the different world religions. Each chapter is written by a different author. The history and beliefs of each religion is given. The religious beliefs are compared and contrasted with Christian beliefs. Most chapters also include ways to share the Christian gospel to those of the religion.
I found all of the chapters to be fair and not judgmental of the different religions. At times it praises the religions practices and commitments. The comparisons and contrasts to Christian beliefs seems accurate and respectful.
The book is written from a Lutheran perspective so if you are from another denomination you might disagree on some points, but I would put them as secondary doctrine rather than essential doctrines. On the essential doctrines of Christianity most Christians would agree with how they are presented in this book.
