About the author

Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).

If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.

This book is a TREASURE and I’ve been recommending it to everyone this year as a devotional resource. Short enough to read daily while toddlers are interrupting every five seconds, and meaty enough to think about all day. I really enjoyed the consistent format of catechetical review, Bible verse, quote by Luther, and devotion. Each contributor had a distinct voice, but the collection as a whole was nicely cohesive in tone and depth. Perfect for family devotions, busy moms, homeschool chapel, and every Lutheran in between.

This small book is a good refresher on the Small Catechism for Lutherans who may have not read it since their Confirmation class. It is also a decent guide on how to read the Catechism devotionally and regularly. Additionally, it introduces some great insights from Luther that they otherwise would have never read, be it from the Confessions or Luther’s Works. The devotions from the various authors provide some decent insights, although they’re not particularly deep, and they can be a bit cheesy at times. That being said, this would be a good devotional book to read through with the family at the daily devotion time as the head of the household teaches the family or even the pastor opening up an elders’ meeting with each devotion as a reminder of the building blocks of our faith.

An edifying devotion that walks you through the Small Catechism. Each devotion has a portion of Luther's Catechism, a Bible verse, a paragraph or two from one of Luther's writings, a modern devotion and application and a prayer. I found it a very useful to review the Catechism and to apply its teaching to my life.
