Psychology student Camila Duarte is finally on her own, living in NYC and away from her overprotective brothers. Her serenity quakes when she receives terrorizing letters. When the threats ramp up, she hires the best problem solver in the business to protect her and look for the criminal.
After losing his wife and kid, Jaeger Bauer left the NYPD and has one simple rule: don’t get attached. A job is just a job. Working close to Camila, however, puts his remarkable self-control to the test. He wants to pursue her, even though they are complete opposites and want different things. As the stakes get higher, Jaeger needs to choose between protecting his client…or surrendering to desire and jeopardizing the entire mission.

I have been waiting for this book, the final book of the Brazilians. Thank you to Carmen Falcone for the ARC, it's always a privilege to read a book before release.
What's a girl to do when she finds herself receiving threatening letters? Well in Camila's case she could turn to her brothers but her whole reason for leaving Brazil was to prove she could be on her own. Besides the publicity that would arise from her going to them or the police could jeopardize her future career as a therapist.
When Jaeger's Aunt Gesa calls and tells him he has to take Camilla on as a client, he knew he couldn't say no without incurring the woman's wrath.
Threatening letters were one thing, but then Camilla comes home from work and finds her dog dead.
Once he has her safe in his apartment Jaeger promises to find who did the deed.
With her brother's wedding approaching, keeping her secure was going to be difficult. Especially since every minute spent with her is leading to something he's not sure he's ready for.
A fast paced, page turning read that will keep you guessing until the end. With plenty of steamy build-up to a sizzling relationship.
Camila Duarte came to New York City to study, but also to have a little freedom from her brothers. Life was good until she starts receiving threatening letters. Camila tells her hairdresser Gesa of her worries; as chance would have it, Gesa’s nephew, Jaeger Bauer, has a security firm; Camila doesn’t want to involve the police so as not to alarm her brothers. Jaeger is hesitant to accept the case because of his attraction to Camila; he will not let anyone get close, never again…
BRAZILIAN SURRENDER is the last instalment in the exciting The Brazilians series, and Carmen Falcone has written her best suspense story yet; there were so many ramifications, I never guessed who the killer was, and especially not the reason for the crimes. Camila is another wonderfully independent heroine; she knows what she wants, she is not afraid to do what she needs to get it, but she is also a warm, caring, and patient person. Jaeger has closed himself off after his wife and son were murdered, and it was wondrous to see him crawling out of his shell. The sex scenes are sizzling and beautifully crated, and better yet they serve a real purpose as they constitute a vital element leading to important character development.
And what a treat it was to see how all our Brazilians have fared in the meantime. BRAZILIAN SURRENDER ends on a fabulous epilogue; I could not have wished for a better conclusion to this excellent series!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
From the first meeting of the Duarte family, I’ve been impatiently awaiting Camila’s story. This did not disappoint 😍😍 Camila has a very strong, independent personality, without losing her femininity. She’s a great balance for a heroine looking to get out from under the shadow of her brothers. She comes across very well balanced, but with enough quirks to make her real and connectable. Jaeger (love the name) strong, dark and silent type. Man of mystery He has a troubled past that is hard to move on to. You just wanna wrap your arms around him and love him. I love the story, I love the characters. Jaeger protecting Camila while looking for her stalker is great and their connection can not be denied. I only found one spot in the book where I went WTF? Because it was completely unbelievable but my love of everything else completely makes up for it.
Even though this installment of the Duarte saga is set in New York and not Brazil, the chemistry between Jaeger and Camila is still hot, hot, hot. She's a psych intern at a prestigious hospital, but when she starts getting threatening notes telling her to go back to Brazil, she decides to hire Jaeger, her hairdresser's nephew and the head of a security company to find the perpetrator. She thinks he' pretty hot and he's attracted to her to but he doesn't do relationships and besides, she's his client. In the process of figuring out whodunit, they're forced to deal with their personal hangups. Like all of the Duarte women, Camila is smart, strong and independent, even when her life is threatened and she is in danger of losing everything she loves in New York. Jaeger, on the other hand, is broken; the after effects of losing his wife and young son. He's a bit of a jerk, but it's hard not to like him and to cheer him on in his investigation of Camila's case and Camila in her desire to build a relationship with him beyond their business arrangements. The mystery plot is well written, building intensity from threats to murder and it's only in the last few chapters that the villain is revealed in a heart pounding confrontation that will satisfy any murder mystery fan. I loved this latest (sadly perhaps the last) Duarte family story and highly recommend it to anyone who likes the romantic suspense genre.
Loved this book! This is a sexy and engaging novel that fans of the genre will love. In this book, Camila is a psychiatry intern who starts to receive threatening letters. She turns to Jaeger, a somewhat damaged man who owns a security company. He poses as her boyfriend while protecting her and also trying to find the culprit. The sparks flying are predictable, but so well told that I just enjoyed the story.
I've enjoyed each of the books in this series and loved the romance between Camila and Jaeger. Put this at the top of your TBR list - you'll be glad you did. The author is on my must read authors' list.
When Camila Duarte starts receiving threatening letters asking her to leave USA, she hires Jaeger Bauer, a security specialist and ex NYPD cop. From the first moment they met, there is a connection between them. But they are complete opposites of each other and want different things. Brazilian surrender is a complete entertainer. It has everything, hot sexy scenes, secrets and suspense. The suspense was superb, took me by surprise. Carmen Falcone is a new author to me and I was not expecting this book to be as good as it was. A definite must read.
"Brazilian Surrender (The Brazilians)" by Carmen Falcone is a HOT, suspenseful, brilliant, quick read. This book is a stand alone but if you get a chance to read the others in this series I highly recommend it. Camila Duarte hires Jaeger Bauer to find out who has been sending her threatening letters. It isn't the first time this has happened, and Jaeger tries his best to remain distant because of personal tragedy. (Key word tries.) He is finding it hard to stay away from his feelings toward Camila.
Right of the bat, I enjoyed this book more than the previous books. It reads like a classic romantic suspense but what brings out the story are the characters. I find it interesting how the personalities of the characters are well fleshed out compared to the previous books. Maybe its because the heroine is a psychology student. The plot is simple and straight-forward which I am grateful for.

ARC received from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a fair review
Thrilling and sexy yet suspenseful and edgy. My first Falcone book and I must read about the brothers. Camila is a smart, educated woman with no fear of intimacy but is frightened by creepy letters sent to intimidate. Jaeger, a widowed ex-cop running his own security firm, helps Camila with a stalker while she breaks his walls. Both characters are likable with strong yet vulnerable personalities. Camila's story is part of a series with her brothers but stands alone. My copy came from Netgalley and my review written voluntarily.
Jaeger is not one for being good to his woman's ego, "...I say it’s time to break out those handcuffs and get you tired so I can make sure you’re not a snorer,” he said..." Once Jaeger got some personality in him you saw him tease his girl a lot, "he nipped her finger. “Are you going to abuse your new privilege of touching me?” I liked this book, I loved Jaeger.
Engaging!! My favorite kind of romantic suspense! This story is exciting, sexy and will keep you guessing. Who is stalking Camilla? The big reveal was AWESOME!! I would have never guessed!! If you are a fan of real romantic suspense you can't pass this story up!
This is the third book in this series and it just gets better and better with each new book. Just fantastic from start to finish and totally had me turning the pages as quick as I could. A must read all day long. Loved loved loved it and would highly recommend
Carmen has done it again. Absolutely loved Camilla and Jaeger's story. She's trying to find who's trying to scare her away and he's protecting her. In the end he finds her can love again and she protected and finds a true love.
Brazilian Surrender, A very hot and steamy suspenseful romance story. Would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for something mysterious too read! Love the family connection, losses and gains.
Camila receives threatening letters and turns to Jaeger to protect her. This is just the type of story that I enjoy. A nice, sexy read by Carmen Falcone.
What a fantastic conclusion to this series! This one has a wonderful blend of suspense and romance as Camila Duarte, enjoying a bit of freedom for the first time, finds herself the victim of an unknown individual who is leaving her threatening letters. She hopes to get this handled without involving her brothers who would want to drag her home immediately. Hopefully security specialist Jaeger Bauer will be able to help her and keep her safe.. And hopefully she won't lose her heart in the meantime.
Camilla Dante her freedom and her sense of security for granted as her older brothers were there and protected her. But now she was in America and had lived in NYC for two years. Camilla had a stalker. Camilla was an intern at Hatch Psychiatric Center. Her mother had depression and Camilla wanted to help people with mental illnesses. Today she was to see Jaeger Bauer as his as his Aunt who was Camilla’s hairdresser had set up the appointment for her. Her brother had been very successful in business and Camilla now was from a very rich family. Jaeger wasn’t going to take Camilla’s case and was going to pass her to one of his associates but he was the beat and she wanted to be his client. When their fingers touched as she handed him the envelope with the stalkers messages a shock went up Jaegers arm. Then Jaeger heard himself say he would take her case. Jaeger had been on NYPD but then his wife Ellen and three year old son Trevor was murdered while he was at work five years ago. Jaeger said someone had wanted her to leave the country and they had to learn why. Camilla had also responded to Jaeger. The next day Jaeger had went to Camilla’s apartment and found out that the stalker had poisoned her dog Torto then Jaeger took her to his home where she would be safe. Jaeger found he was sexually aroused by Camilla and he had never thought about his client sexually before her and he had to end it before she got hurt. Camilla Camilla was a bridesmaid in her brother Emanuels wedding and it required her being there for three days. Then Jaeger said her would go with her. I liked this book alot. It was an easy, enjoyable read with intrigue, mystery, unwanted attraction, passion, love, murder, and so much more. I loved Camilla and Jaeger together. I loved how she freed him from his tortured past. I also loved how Camilla wanted to work with people who suffered from mental illness like her mother. I hadn’t actually figured out who the killer was until he was with Camilla I did love the ending it just fit so well and the got their H E A. I couldn't find anything to complain about and that is always great. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.
This was first published on my blog " Lecture Toute une Aventure"
This is my first story from this story and i must say that i hope it won't be the last because this book is part of a series -but can be read as standalone without any trouble at all- which i didn't know at first and now i would love to check the other books in it.
But one thing at a time and now it start with Camila, she is a very kind and loyal girl but she longs for anonymity and freedom so when she start receiving threats she chooses to find help outside her family and enter Jaeger who has his own security firm.... While Camila is very open and still naïve Jaeger is closed, still hurting from the deaths of his wife and son; he is very talented at what he does, very professional but his work is his own way to hide. So when he feels attraction for Camila at the first sight he hesitates before accepting her case but her innocence and persistence make it impossible to refuse. When discovering that the threat is even more deadly he decides to even take her home for her protection despite his attraction growing and his difficulty to hide it.
Camila is really resilient, we learn of her life before she had money and all what happened...still she always fought for what she believed in ( like studying despite dyslexia) and i found her admirable...this time too she will have to face a lot and she still will try to help Jaeger who isn't making things easy and will slowly open himself to her a bit.
The story is really steamy but i prefer not to explain why as it's kind of part of the story in itself but i prefer to inform those who would prefer sweeter level. The investigation is well done, i appreciated that Jaeger had doubt because of what happen it made it more believable but there were still some very dark and sad part ( hard not to cry a little for Torto)
All together it was really a good read and the fact it can be read as standalone is even better so if you are looking for a good steamy romance suspense i recommend you this one.
This is the authors last book in her Brazilian Series, Brazilian Surrender. We have another Duarte family member this time Camila who is now in NY to not only intern but to get away from her overprotective family. While there she begins receiving ever more threatening letter, so she seeks help from an agency where she meets Jaeger, a former police officer. Jaeger has lost his family to the dangers of his job and has sworn to never get close to anyone again. Against his better judgment he takes her case and they decide that the only way to protect her is to pose as her boyfriend. That's all I'm saying for I hate to give spoilers; although it appears that I have believe me there is much more meat to this story. Grab this great story and learn how far the villain is willing to go to get rid of Camila. You will also read how Jaeger's will to once again get emotionally involved is stretched to it's limit. Not getting involved will be hard to do when their attraction to each other starts to sizzle. The story is filled with the authors snarky humor and thrilling adventures amongst hot sizzling sex. I, for one, will miss further adventures in her wonderful Brazilian Series and if you haven't yet read the previous stories, don't just stand there go get them now.
This is the best one so far from Carmen Falcone’s The Brazilians series. There is nothing I would have changed, there were no unanswered questions, the heat and attraction were jumping off the pages, the steam level....oh my...between the two and the mystery of the stalker kept me guessing right to the end and I didn’t figure it out till the author revealed who it was. Jaeger owns his own security company which he started after the death of his family and since then he has never recovered from the devastating loss until Camila. She hires him when she gets frightening letters from a stalker. She is independent and feisty and she doesn’t want help from her family, she wants to take care of her problem on her own. It takes a while for her to break down his walls and when she does he doesn’t know how to handle his emotions or her and it may be too late by the time he figures out that he can’t be without her. My..my...my..my what an amazing read with plenty of steam, suspense, heartache and heartbreak, redemption and hope. Kudos to the author on a story that flowed perfectly, kept me intrigued and guessing right to the end with a HEA that had me smiling....5 ++++ stars. *I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book*
I have read all the books in this series and eagerly awaited the release of this one. Finally a book about the sister of the Duarte family. I admit I missed the Brazilian setting since this one was set in New York. Although I admired Camilla's independence and her desire to make it on her own, I did think she took the privacy issue a bit overboard and should ave let her brothers help protect her (especially since I wanted more of them in this book), but she chose her help wisely and hired Jaeger. He has the street smarts Camilla lacks. He takes her stalker seriously and starts the hunt. Jaeger is confident in his abilities, but he is not confident he can keep his distance from Camilla. He has distanced himself from everyone since he lost his wife and child years ago, and he really doesn't want the risk connections result in. Regardless, she tempts him and the chemistry is enough that they finally give in. Now Jaeger not only has to worry about Camilla's safety but also his own heart if anything happens to her.
The first book in this series remains my favorite, but I really enjoyed this one as well. ARC provided by Net Galley.
Brazilian Surrender is the last book in the Brazilian series (can be read as a standalone) this story is about Camila Duarte and Jaeger Baver. Camila a smart and independent woman who starts to receive threatening letter demanding she leave New York and that she go back to Brazil. Jaeger is an ex police officer in NYPD but now he owns his own security firm, he refuses at first to help with her case due to his attraction to her however he later gives in. As a attraction grows with the more time they have to spend together, flames soon explode between these two and boy is it hot!!! what an amazing ending to the series I highly recommend reading all the other books in the series as well. I’m sad to see the series ends but what a perfect conclusion it was. Definitely a must read!! So go ahead and pick up your copy today. Receive this book as a gift.
Camila is happy to be studying in NY and to experience independence away from her overprotective brothers in Brazil. When she starts to receive threatening letters telling her to return home she doesn’t want to contact the police as that would mean her brothers would come to her or she would have to go to them so instead she hires former police officer Jaeger.
Jaeger did not want to accept the assignment due to his attraction to Camila however since she was referred by his aunt he was unable to refuse her. He had suffered a tragedy in the past and wasn’t about to let anyone close to him again.
As the danger escalates they become closer but will they find out who is behind the threats before it is too late?
I enjoyed both these characters as Camila if feisty and independent and Jaeger is protective and their chemistry is intense.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. It had unexpected twist I didn't see coming. I will say there was one negative for me. As an animal lover there is one part that I really disliked. It's just personally for me it's something I hate to see in books. That's really the only negative thought when it comes to this book. Both characters grow. I was so happy to see the effect Camila had on Jaeger. If anyone deserves some happiness in his life it's Jaeger. His backstory just broke my heart, but the epilogue is something I was super happy to see Jaeger at. This book also packs the heat. Great chemistry between Jaeger and Camilia. The suspense element was page turning for me. I wanted to know who the bad guy was so bad I had to keep on reading. A well balanced book.
I love Carmen Falcone so when I heard about Brazilian Surrender I was thrilled and I dived into this book as soon as I could and It was amazing. Camila and Jager story was everything I could of ever hoped for in romance and so much more . I was hooked on this story from beginning to end and I just loved it. Carmen Falcone is talented writer who puts sexy romance , addicting plot line and characters that you will root in every book she writes and Iam so excited to see what Carmen will write next if you are wondering if you shoud pick up this book the answer is yes!! pick it up as soon as you can .
Just had to get into this one especially since I read the first two. This is set in the bustle of a city that anything can happen. That anything does happen to the dismay of Camila whom finally was on her own. She goes and hires a protector that thinks he can do the job because it is just a job of course nothing else. Jaegeo has baggage from a past but making rules he better watch out. As the mystery and the drama builds the chemistry does too. The interesting parts was them with how they developed it. As it heightens though you get pulled to the edge with a bit of a tension rub from it all until the villain is caught. Well done in wrap up.
Finally able to stand on her own, without her family or family name is huge! Camila is thrilled to go about her business incognito. That is until the letters started. Gesa directed Camila to her hunky, nephew (Jaeger), for help. He'd suffered tragic personal loss. The attraction between them is instantaneous. Solving the case is the first priority; or things could get messy... Mystery, drama and sizzling scenes add up to hot suspenseful romance! An unstable villain/villainess ramps up the suspense becoming more deranged as the story continues! A love that's resisted builds as well. Good reading! Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.
"Brazilian Surrender (The Brazilians)" by Carmen Falcone is a HOT, suspenseful, brilliant, quick read. Camilla is finally on her own in NY, however she is getting threatening letters. She decides to hire Jaeger to protect her and find out where they are coming from. Life can't be that simple though and as serious things start happening to her and her friends they have to work to figure this out sooner than later. Camilla is a strong woman and knows what she wants, as all the women in the Brazilian series are. They are all stand alones and each one is just as good.
** I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**
This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
