Bystanders, or children who witness bullying, have the power to help stop bullying, but often do not know how to help, are afraid to help, or feel the bullying is none of their business. It is important to teach bystanders safe ways to help stop any bullying they witness. Bystander Power outlines several safe ways in which bystanders can help stop bullying and subsequently help victims, bullies even themselves since witnessing bullying and doing nothing about it brings about conflicting feelings. With your help stressing that, at the very least, bystanders need to report bullying anonymously to an adult, we can help put an end to bullying, and build safer and more cohesive school communities.
