Review:
Whenever I get to spend time in Christmas River, I am a happy reader. The characters feel like old friends and I feel like I am visiting them. Kara and Cinnamon are the best of friends and you can tell how close they are. We should all have a friend like Kara. Cinnamon and Daniel (her husband) are blissfully happy and we should all have a significant other in our lives like him. And we should all have a grandfather like Warren in our lives, he is my favorite character.
The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and the town of Christmas River comes alive in my mind when I read this book. I would love to visit there some time. The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The mystery is carried on well throughout the entire book and it was not easily solved. It was well plotted and fast paced and I was swiping pages as fast as I could to see what was going to happen next.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a thoroughly enjoyable cozy mystery. Grab the whole series, sit back and enjoy your reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and provided my honest review.
I've read all the Christmas River books and have enjoyed each one! This one kept me guessing. Well written with extremely likeable characters. Keep writing them Meg - I'll keep buying and reading them.
I am a big fan of Christmas River series and have read them all. If you like cozy mysteries you should definitely check out Meg's books. They are so well written with very likable characters and mysteries that will keep you guessing until the end. Midnight in Christmas River was a great Halloween story that you can devour in one day! Make sure to pair it with a slice of delicious pie and hot cocoa!
A good read. Would be a good one to read at Halloween. The ghosts of our past can make present day living hard. She's been asked to cater a book reading/signing by a famous horror writer. Now she has been asked to cater a writer's workshop. As she and her BFF are delivering the goods they overhear a row between him and his estranged wife. The workshop is brought to an abrupt end when he collapses after saying that a ghost is haunting him. Once he had been released from hospital she goes to visit him and he states that the female ghost in his last book is not only haunting him but that the next time she does so it might the death knoll for his bad heart. She and Daniel take him under their wing and try to find out what is going on. Is it really a ghost? Or does this apparition have a more solid base? Will they manage to stop the haunting?
I've not read any books in this series before jumping into this book. It's fine to read as a standalone. I enjoying meeting the residents of Christmas River (a fictional small town in Central Oregon). The story was appropriate for Halloween, but it wasn't a spook-fest, or horrorifying. I really enjoyed it.
There are also a few recipes at the end of the book. I'm NOT a baker, but I just might try to make the Sour Cream Appple pie for Thanksgiving. I kept hearing about it throughout the book, and now I want to try it myself.
This is a sweet, cozy, and easy page turning mystery, with a light Fall/Halloween setting. It reminds me of a hybrid between Scooby-Doo (the original cartoons) and Murder She Wrote, except instead of the main female character being a writer, she's a baker.
As a little bonus at the end, the writer shares recipes for some of the bakery treats mentioned in the book. 🍪🎂🍰🥧🍮🍻😋
A read for all ages. "G" rating: no spice, no profane language.
This was my introduction to Meg Muldoon and Christmas River 🎄 and I am hooked. Can't wait to read the others.

This is a stand-alone book which is part of the Christmas River series, it was light hearted, easy and fun to read. It takes place in October with a focus on Halloween. Lots of wonderful fall references which is making me wish it wasn't the end of March but actually the end of September. There is something about Cinnamon, Daniel, their love of each other, friends, family, strangers and pies which makes me want to stay within this series always.
This is a great book. The mystery kept me guessing and the romance between Cinnamon and Daniel was a sweet second chance romance with lots of angst. I enjoyed all the main characters. The interactions between Cinnamon and her grandpa are fun and also sweet. There’s some humor and suspense as well as romance. Cinnamon and her best friend have some great moments as well. The Halloween theme adds to the mystery. A five star story.
Another hit cozy mystery from Christmas River with Cinnamon, Daniel and the rest of the usual characters.
The author does state at the beginning of the book that, chronologically, this doesn't fall into place, but as the book came together quickly she decided to release it before the next book. It doesn't spoil the enjoyment of the series.
After a rather slow start, and with a perfect married couple in a perfect town, welI got real bored. Skipped to the ending, read about the famous authour, worked it out, read bits and pieces till the end. Whole town is perfect..blah blah blah….the end. Like I said, boring.
This is the first book I've read in this series, and I'm sure I will read more. Works well as a stand alone. When a famous author come to stay in Christmas River, strange this start happening. Kept me gripped until the last page. The recipes were a definite bonus, too.
I love Cin and Daniel I'm going to make this quick because book 12 waits for me so if you like a great cozy with characters you will love then this series by Meg Muldoon is a must read
I adore cozy, small-town mysteries, and Meg Muldoon nails the feel in every Christmas River tale. Charming characters, devious plots, and juicy details. Quick reads, but they cover all the bases. This one holds a lot of ground and doesn't shortchange the reader.
This book had strong characters and story line. What I enjoyed the most was the plot had so many twists and turns. It was similar to driving a mountain road in the dead of Winter. You were scared but couldn’t stop until you reached the top of the mountain. Thrilling but scary. Great book. Thank you.
Now here's the town of your dreams. The people all make you feel great, like You really matter. Then, all of a ,sudden, something happens that leaves you scratching your head.
This was the first book in the series I've read, and it was wonderful. I love the characters and the town. The storyline is fabulous and its a stand a lone book. A must read Fall Novel.
If you're looking foe a fun quick read this book is for you. It does have lots of twists and turns that makes a person want to tell the protagonist to watch out. You won't be disappointed.
I love ghost stories. I believe in the supernatural. I enjoyed this book. It wasn't scary but I liked the introduction of Josiah. He made it, for me. I read this book on a rainy day and it made for a very cozy read.
What a fun story! I really enjoyed it. This is my first visit to Christmas River, and it won’t be my last. I like Cinnamon Peters, and her recipes sound so yummy. I’m looking forward to properly reading this series from the beginning.
It was,ok. Interesting but not a favorite. It is a quick read. Under 200 pages. I was looking for a shorter book to read before Halloween and it fit what I wanted to read.
A nice installment in the series. This book takes place just before Halloween and has some seasonal elements that add to the almost nonexistent mystery.
