If your ex arrives in your hometown eighteen months after you walked out on him while you were eight months pregnant, follow this short list of rules before you give him a second chance.
Rule #1 – Don’t stand in the way of your brothers who want to rough him up.
Rule #2 – Don’t meet him for coffee and agree to allow him to meet your daughter.
Rule #3 – Don’t drool when your daughter falls asleep on his chest for the first time. It’s just your ovaries talking.
Rule #4 – Don’t let him hold your hand. While we’re at it, no hugs, no kisses on the cheek… just no physical contact in general. That only leads to remembering better times.
The last one is the most important…
Rule #5 – When you find yourself needing someone’s help and you’re tired of always asking your family, don’t let him be the one who’s there for you.
Because all those good qualities of his will suck you right back in and you’ll have no chance of fighting your feelings, especially now that he’s ready to be a father to your daughter.
Piper Rayne is a USA Today Bestselling author duo. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" (okay...you caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
This book makes me feel all the tingle. In my heart, especially. I love Jamieson. He is a sexy Scottish god. So sweet and loving. He works so hard to win Sedona's love.
Miss Rayne writes a second chance love story with min angst/ drama. Just a sweet loving easy to read. And do no forget Jamieson. Trust me ladies, he will win your heart with that sexy accent. I listened to the audiobook, btw. The narrator done a good job bringing the accent alive.
Overall, I do enjoy The Rule for Dating Your Ex so much. It makes me bad day at work seems bearable.
Not my favorite, but a good wrap up of the series. Review soon
There's a set up at the end for another series by this duo The Greene Family, which is another long commitment of 9 books and some novellas that I'll have to listen to one day. In addition there's The Lake Starlight series, which follows the kids from these 2 series. I already read most of them, wish I would've waited but I didn't know.
Sedona & Jameson Anyway, what to expect: ~ dual 1st person POV ~ HS sweethearts ~ they have a deaf child together ~ recovering alcoholic trying to get his life together ~ second chance ~ some steamage
Narration notes: So happy for a Scottish narrator for a Scottish character. He did okay~ish for his American accents, but duet narration really would have brought this one home. She does really great. She's very passionate and doesn't shy away from the steamage scenes😉
Sedona Bailey’s story is one of heartbreak and redemption. You go in hating Jamison but boy oh boy does he win you over.
There is a lot going on in this story, first and foremost Jamie has come back to claim the love of his life and his daughter, Palmer. I will admit I was pissed with Jamie because of the back and forth of his and Sedona's relationship in the prior books and when she came back to Lake Starlight, Alaska eight months pregnant without Jamie that major strikes against him. In RULES FOR DATING YOUR EX we find out everything that the two of them have been through from their first meeting in high school right up to the present day, and some of it isn't pretty at all.
I can't believe that that's the last Bailey book. I feel like I need my own 12 step program to recover. I want so much more but hopefully we will still get little snippets and catch ups when we get to meet Ethels grandkids.
So I really wasn't expecting Sedona and Jamison’s story to hit me quite so hard. And I definitely didn't expect to have the feels I got from it. To be honest I really don't recall seeing the fact Jamison had an addiction to alcohol so I wasn't sure why Sedona up and left him at 8 months pregnant, but I figured it would be dramatic.
Being close to a few alcoholics makes me sensitive to this subject and honestly not in a good way. So once I learnt that was Jamison's issue I didn't expect to forgive him. But he worked so hard to overcome it and I understood what lead him there. I still had a few issues, but Sedona was so strong and sensible in her approach I feel like she held my hand and walked me through it.
From the beginning I was team Sedona and I loved that she was so independent and working so hard to be the best mother. And even when she was hurt by how everything played out between her and Jamison she didn't play games, she just tried to keep her relationship separate to the relationship she wanted Palmer to have with her father.
And like I said, Jamison worked so hard for what he wanted. And he went balls to the wall to prove and earn everything to Sedona and Palmer and the rest of the Bailey clan. I had a slight issue with Palmer not being very age appropriate but it worked for the story and it was close enough. If I wasn't with my 2 and 3 year old every day I probably wouldn't have noticed it.
But for now I'm going to mourn the end of my Bailey siblings and pray that the ladies write us a nice little novella wrapping everyone up in a neat little epilogue or Buzz Wheel post. And I will be keeping my fingers crossed that we see them in the Green’s books.
Rules for Dating Your Ex was the ninth book in the Bailey’s series by the authors Piper Rayne. It was the final sibling of the series and the series was best read in order.
Sedona. We’ve seen Sedona in just about every Bailey book and in the last few she was a single mom. I don’t recall seeing Jameson much, but the stage was set not to like him. They were high school sweethearts, he turned into a professional soccer player and then she returned home single and pregnant. The Bailey’s were unforgiving. But as the book opened, Palmer, their daughter was eighteen months old and Jameson came to claim his family. The authors brought us a very real and vulnerable Jameson and I fell in love almost immediately. I say almost because I needed a little back story but once that was provided, through Jameson’s POV, I was a goner.
I loved everything about Jameson, Sedona and Palmer. It was real, raw and emotional. I felt everything. It didn’t dawn on me until near the end that this series was ending. I was sad but it ended in the most perfect way. I loved all of the Bailey interaction and how it mingled with the rawness of Sedona and Jameson’s story. It was well written, well developed, full of depth, complexity and the perfect full circle conclusion.
I hope the authors will one day give us a legacy spin off. The stage was definitely set for the numerous cousins as they all grow up together. In the meantime, the authors left us with a teaser for the Buzz Wheel to continue with the spin off series for Ethel’s grandchildren, The Greene Family, set in the neighboring town of Sunrise Bay. First up is My Beautiful Nemesis and I can’t wait!
This has been such a journey! Nine siblings finding their HEA. I loved every smile and every tear. The Bailey Clan will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Sedona is the last of her siblings to get the happy ending she deserves. The boy who won her heart in high school has grown into the man who will have it forever.
He was the foreign exchange student from Scotland that all the girls wanted, but he only had eyes for her. His soccer career took them on a crazy ride and Jamison lost his way.
The only way to protect herself and her unborn little girl, was to leave. He was spiraling and out of control. She walked away and headed back home.
It’s been eighteen months and her and Palmer are doing great. Being a single mom has it’s challenges, but having a family that pitches in helps pick up the slack. She never expected Jamison to literally walk back into Lake Starlight and want them back...until the day he did.
He’s in for an uphill battle facing all the Bailey’s, but his girls are worth it. All he wants is Sedona and Palmer. He has made mistakes, but he owns them. He’s worked hard to gain his sobriety and he plans on doing whatever it takes to get his family.
This was a story of redemption and unconditional love. They were broken for a time, but the love for each other never waned. Jamison was dedicated and being a dad brought out the best in him. His daughter being deaf only made him work harder to give her everything. Sedona was strong and brave. She took on being a single mother and worked toward her independence. The two of them together was steamy. And as a family, they were the sweetest.
I’m hoping this won’t be the last we see of the ever expanding Bailey clan. They’ve become like family. You’ll get more babies, a few more on the way and the ever present Gradma Dori, who we all love. And you’ll finally find out about the best kept secret in Lake Starlight. If you haven’t started, this is the perfect binge!

Rules for Dating Your Ex by Piper Rayne is a beautifully written second chance romance and I loved it.
I found the storyline entertaining from start to end, it made me laugh, swoon and shed a tear or two.
I loved Sedona and Jamison, watching them reconnect after their breakup brought out all the feels. I felt their pain, I felt their sorrow and I felt their love. They may have been separated for a while but their hearts still belonged to one-another. It took time and honest communication for them to be able to forgive and to truly let go of the past and enjoy what the future held for them. Then add their adorable and sweet little girl Palmer I couldn't have been happier for them. These two totally deserved their second chance at love, I have no doubt they were going to have a happy and fulfilling life ahead.
This series has been such a joy to read, I've enjoyed watching each Bailey fall in love, and Grandma D will forever have a special place in my heart, she subtly or maybe not so subtly lol helped her all grandchildren to their happily ever afters.
Rules for Dating Your Ex is the final novel for the Bailey series and I highly recommend them all!
Oh, love ☜♡☞ ➳ It was the last sister's turn to have a fresh start and a happy ending.
➳ Not bad, it was nice to spend the day listening to the audio and laughing a lot at the Scottish accent and the countless jokes in the Book that worked very well in this audio format!
„Ich mochte dich immer, Jamison – bis ich dich gehasst habe.“ (Dori zu Jamison in Rules for dating your ex)
Worum geht’s?
Rules for dating your Ex ist Band 9 der Baileys-Reihe.
Mein Fazit

Oh my heart....this series, these characters, this story was absolutely EVERYTHING! It's hard to see this series come to an end because this family holds a special place in my heart and I'll definitely be revisiting them often!
I have been impatiently waiting for Sedona and Jamison's story since the beginning but after the sneak peek in Winning My Best Friend's Girl I knew this book would be an emotional journey! I had a love/hate relationship with Jamison but in true Piper Rayne fashion they always redeem the one you hate the most. Sedona was incredible, loving and strong with all that she endured, you can't help but love her.
This story had me in tears page after page....for the anger, the hurt, the pain but more so for the forgiveness, the happiness and the love this family has for each other! This is one series that MUST be read, one that is absolutely on my TOP READS and one I highly RECOMMEND!
As the saying goes, "I hate to see you leave but love to watch you walk away." Well I've decided that the Baileys saying is "I hate to see you leave but dang that was worth every single beautiful moment you gave."
The Baileys have become like family to me, each book is like coming home, and this family has been brilliant, inspiring, swoony, and given me just about every emotion possible throughout their journeys. Well we are at the end with Lake Starlight and the Baileys (minus a novella in the future!), and what a send off this was in the most surprising ways.
Rules for Dating Your Ex is the ninth novel in The Baileys series and what a journey this was in a true Bailey-unforgettable, beautifully complicated style. Sedona and Jamison (+ Palmer!)- whew what a pair this was- were much deeper than I expected. Their second chance journey really tugged at my heart in a few unexpected ways and had my eyes misting a bit in some moments. Love isn't easy (these two know allllllll about that!) but man they make it so worth it by the end.
If you love small town romances with all the heat, swoon, feels, and good stuff then THE BAILEYS are where it's at.
No matter what, Lake Starlight will always have a special place in my heart and my reread pile.
Ahh, I can't believe this the last Bailey book! It’s bittersweet and I am so sad this is the end. I am going to miss this family and their antics. I have adored the Bailey family from the very first time I opened book one of this series. Each book has been so engaging and it's impossible not to fall in love with this family. And what a fantastic story to end this series...Piper Rayne nail it once again. The Bailey family will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Sedona and Jamison’s have a beautiful second chance at love story. A relationship that has spanned years. An endless and forever kind of love. The connection between these two was always there, right from the very beginning as high school teenagers. Their hearts were always going to destined for one another, no matter the obstacles. This story had all the comedy elements, but it also brought the feels and emotions. I hurt for both Sedona and Jamison and wanted nothing more than for them to have that much deserved happy ending.
As much as I am sad to see this series come to an end, this book was the perfect conclusion. I loved everything about this story. It has all the elements of what is so quintessential about The Baileys. A delightful and quirky big family, an unconditional love, and wonderful stories that all weave together to create a cast of memorable characters that you cannot help but fall in love with. It's definitely one of those series that I will reread time and time again.
I was really worried when I read the blurb. Not again. Guy runs off leaving woman with baby but then I read the reason and I think that was different. However what I couldn't get past was the cognitive development of the 18 month old baby, she would have played better as a 4 year old but that would have delayed their reunion too much.
5 Sterne
I don't remember everything but I remember liking this book when I first read it. I am going to do a reread and write a better review :)
Spoilers below!!
I loved that she made him work for it before they got back together. He suffers from alcoholism and it became worse after he had an injury that ended his soccer career, she was pregnant at the time and instead of being an excited to-be-father, he was really lost in the drink. She left him 8 months pregnant because she was not getting the support she needed (he was passed out drunk) and went back to her family in Alaska. Now I haven't read all The Bailey's books, but I think I read one which I remember not liking. I really loved the MC from this book and I loved their daughter, who is deaf and they use sign language. It seems safe because no other person is mentioned in both their separations.
'Rules for Dating Your ex' is the 9th part of the 'Baileys' series by Piper Rayne. Told in dual perspectives , this is the story of Jamison and Sedona.
I absolutely love the Bailey family and am escalated to finally read sedona's story. Jamison is the love of her life. That is until he ruined all of that. Years ago they both used to be together, but due to a mishap Jamison ended up Ruining his career. Because of this loss ,he reverted to drinking and drugs. He spiralled down towards addiction and lost Sedona in the process. Now after years of no contact he is back to get her back and get to know their daughter.
Understandably, Sedona is reluctant to let him into her life again. She believes that he might leave her again , but this time her daughter would also suffer. This book was an amazing emotional ride for me. I am all for Second chance Romances with lots of angst, so I absolutely adored this one!!
Are the Baileys stories really almost complete? My heart isn't ready! Piper Rayne saved one of the most challenging love stories for the last. (well the last full length story, that is) We knew this book would be a challenge- because Bailey fans disliked Jameson almost as much as the Baileys themselves dislike him, and love stories that try to grow from deeply fractured, toxically damaged ground are always the hardest roads. But oh my, boy does that make the reward all the sweeter. So sweet that this book is one of my favorites of the entire series- perhaps my favorite.
Jameson really messed up- he had the girl of his dreams, pregnant with his daughter, but he was losing a battle to a crippling addiction, a means to cope with his insecurity and lost sense of self after a career ending injury. Despondent and heartbroken, Sedona leaves him with nothing but a sonogram photo and a one way ticket to rock bottom. And he goes there. In the present, Sedona has returned home to the safety of the Bailey crew in Alaska and is raising her eighteen month old daughter Palmer on her own- well, with the Bailey crew help, of course. After a hard fought journey of healing and finding sobriety, Jameson has reclaimed his mind and body from his consuming addiction, and now he’s ready to make amends, and hopefully reclaim his family. He’s never even met his daughter, never attempted to be part of her life, so Sedona is shocked to find him in Lake Starlight. And, Jameson is shocked to find Sedona pregnant. But, he immediately loves his daughter, and clicks with her. While Sedona seems open to opening their lives for Palmer and Jameson to know each other, she seems unwilling to open her heart. With good reason- while Jameson looks healthy, is he really recovered? Will he really be there for Palmer after letting them down for so long? And can the former celebrity truly be content to hang around in peaceful Lake Starlight?
This couple may be my favorite Bailey couple. I just adore Sedona- she’s so compassionate and SO rationale. She’s calm and pragmatic- firm in her beliefs but willing to listen and understand others. Such a great contrast to the fire of Phoenix. She’s protective, loving, and so patient- definitely a quieter, more stoic heroine, and one that I really appreciated and admired. And Jameson won me over- and QUICKLY, too. He’s clearly a changed man- from the first chapter in our Scotsman’s head, I was in love. He’s so deeply remorseful and so committed to his family. He’s learning how to be a dad, but his heart already knows how to love Sedona. He proves himself- over and over. He’s so caring and emotionally open, protective but not overly dominant, and he’s determined but patient and respectful. He lets Sedona call the shots. And I loved seeing him with Palmer- the Bailey book men and babies just SLAY me. Palmer really stole my heart, too. She’s truly a special little girl.
I loved the approach to chemistry here- Piper Rayne lets it be awkward and uncomfortable at first, despite the pull we can feel between them. Their connection is messy and confusing, and so the relationship dynamics are too, especially as Sedona struggles to think about what she wants, and what is okay with when it comes to Jameson. But the spark, the spark is there- we can feel it slowly burning away as they to work through some stuff. And when these two find their way back together, it just feels so rewarding.
This particular trope (second chance, addiction) can be super angsty- but here it gets the Piper Rayne treatment- we have some tension, but nothing explosive or overly combative. Both characters communicate- openly and frequently- and they LISTEN to each other. They are both incredibly patient and giving. It is not a fast and easy road (and fortunately we get a few sweet flashbacks to tide us over in this slower burn), but it is not overly angsty or dramatic. I also appreciated the window into addiction recovery we get here- the maintenance side, at least. Seeing Jameson responsibly check in with his mentor, attending meetings, and using coping strategies to stay sober is an important reminder that there is no cure for addiction- it is always constant and intentional work.
What makes this series so special is the ensemble focus- these magical Baileys, the fact that this is not just a series about individuals finding romance, but it is also a series about a family showing up to support one another. And that story has grown over the last nine books as we see this family function as a unit- in good and bad times. Most of our Baileys get a moment or two in this story. I especially loved seeing Kingston and Palmer. And, of course, we have the delightful meddling of our octogenarian matriarchs. The small town Bailey buzz is still alive and well, and we finally find out the voice behind the infamous BUZZ WHEEL (and all I have to say is CALLED IT!), but the revelation was still unexpected.
At the conclusion of this in the adorable epilogue, we not only get full hearts as we can finally sit back and see all of our beloved Baileys happy and thriving in true love, but we also have the promise of a whole new family of kids nearby Lake Starlight that are about to get the Ethel and Grandma Dori treatment. I’m not sure much can top the magic of the Baileys, but if that new series has the same heart, inspires that welcoming familiarity, and has that same amazing family dynamic that makes this series so special then I KNOW we’ll love it. Looking forward to the final Bailey novella, but I’m certainly not ready to say goodbye!
Life may get complicated, but love makes it all worthwhile. The Baileys are back full of surprises that will break and uplift the heart. The wait is over. Sedona gets her chance to show the world her beautiful soul. She is proof that a broken heart is not the end of the world, but the beginning of something much better waiting in the wings. Rayne brings out the waterworks to get to the sunlight. My emotions have yet to recover from the quiet storm that is Sedona Bailey.
the bailey family is ever expanding. someone’s always pregnant, someone’s always going to get pregnant, and someone’s always going to fall in love. this second chance romance is between jamison and sedona. 18 months ago, he was overwhelmed with his addiction and she was under too much pressure to keep things going.
i won’t complain about this series because i like that i’m reading the love story of each bailey sibling. knowing that he needs to fight to be in his daughter’s life, jamison is ready to do whatever it takes even if it meant that the love of his life won’t ever get back with him. sedona has a lot of worry about now that jamison is back. she will probably be in love with him for forever but she isn’t ready to be heartbroken once again. with their daughter in mind and an unknown future, sedona builds her barriers against jamison.
Omg! It's the end! I can't believe it's the last full length Bailey's book! What a fantastic story to end the series on.
I LOVED Sedona, Jamieson and Palmer so much! I'm hoping a future series will feature Palmer and her cousins!
Sedona and Jamieson's story will break your heart in places. There were tears happy and sad ones! Everything they have gone through. In one way they were lucky to find each other when they were only seventeen but their path back to each other hasn't been easy.
I know alot of people haven't been Jamieson's biggest fan but I honestly always had a soft spot for him. Sedona wouldn't have loved someone the way she did if he wasn't a good person.
I loved seeing all the Bailey's back together in one place and Grandma D was on fire in this book!
This series is an absolute must read for me and one of my all time favourites. You have to read this!
If you only have time to read 9 books this year make it this series you won't regret it.
In diesem 9.
All das muss man sich selbst vorstellen, was manche vielleicht eh besser finden.
This book brought me nothing but joy. I fell so deeply in love with the Bailey clan and Sedona's book made my heart glow. It was sweet, romantic and full of love and forgiveness.
Sedona's heart was stolen in high school and she has been in love with the same guy ever since. Distance and addiction did not diminish their love but it did complicate things. She had to put her baby first and hoped Jamison could pull himself out of the hole he was in because she couldn't anymore. Some time had passed and Jamison has now appeared in Lake Starlight ready to fight to get his family back. It is much more difficult because Sedona has built a fortress around her heart as well as her human fortress know as The Baileys. But this is a fight he has every intention of winning because he is never losing his family again. Sacrifices need to be made and it's his turn to make them.
We never really got to know Sedona that much but she utterly captivated me. She was so strong and brave for her baby girl. I was so happy that she didn't forgive Jamison too soon and made him prove that he is better. Although the love was always there, they put that aside so he can focus on his bond with his daughter. Palmer was so freaking cute and her scenes with Jamison... Ovaries exploding!
I think Ethel is my new favorite character. I love her so much and I'm so excited for this new chapter. I can't wait to officially meet Ethel's grandchildren. And hopefully Grandma Dori features just as much.
5 Star Review Rules For Dating Your Ex (The Baileys #9) by Piper Rayne
I have been early awaiting Sedona’s story but knowing that this is the second to last book in the series, it was bittersweet to start this read. To me the Bailey’s have become like a family to me, I have become invested in their lives and it’s like coming home when I pick up their books. Piper Rayne write strong characters that are so easy to relate to and they are not afraid to show them in all their flawed glory. Sedona and Jamison’s second chance at love story and the journey that they embark on show this perhaps more than the other stories in the series have. I was hooked from the first to the last chapter and there were plenty of surprises. I admit that there were times that I really disliked Jamison, it really took a while for me to warm up to him. However, such is the writing of Piper Rayne, they managed to turn my opinion around and I ended up admiring all that he did to prove he had changed. Sedona really came into her own in this book, she stepped up and I adored her relationship with Palmer. Can Sedona and Jamison come to terms with the past and take another chance that this time things will be better? I love that you also get to catch up with all the other couples as well and get the latest gossip from Lake Starlight, Alaska.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said about Sedona Baileys story apart from it was everything I expected and so much more, this was the book I have been waiting for and I wasn’t disappointed. This is the second to last book in the series and that means the Baileys are coming to an end, I’m sad to say goodbye to the family I have come to love like my own family but rest assured this series will be read and re-read because I will never grow tired of this family and residents of Lake Starlight, Alaska. This is Sedona and Jamison’s second chance at love but it’s going to take a lot of hard work for Jamison to win the girl and convince her family that he is a changed man. I love Sedona but I have to admit at times I disliked Jamison but as I turned the pages and this man opened himself up I grew to love the man trying to fight his addition and win the love of his life back. This wouldn’t be the Baileys without some meddling from family members and it certainly has some laugh out loud moments but it’s the whole package that makes this a great read, it’s the story, the strong writing, the characters, the chemistry and the witty banter that make this book one of my top reads of this year. I loved catching up with the residents of Lake Starlight and I’m excited for the final instalment into their life’s.
This is the final book in the Bailey Series, which makes me so sad. I loved this series and adore every Bailey and their significant others. I love Dori and Ethel’s shenanigans, the close-knit family that they all are, and how they all come together when one of them needs them. Throughout this series I felt like I was the close family friend who was with them through all the good times and bad. So, yes it will be hard to say goodbye to them all. This is Jamison and Sedona’s book and I loved it.
At the end of each Baily book we get a little glimpse of what is to come in the next one. So, at the end of the last book, we see that Jamison walks in on a Bailey baby shower only for him to find out that Sedona is pregnant. He’s. come back to fight for his family, only to see that she is pregnant. Oh, I cannot imagine how this is going to go or how he is feeling. Sedona is in no way going to make this easy for him and neither is the Bailey clan. Jamison screwed up, bug time. But he knows it and he will do everything to prove to Sedona that he is all in and 100% committed to getting her and his daughter back. Will she give him a second chance?
With each Bailey book I read I find a new hero to love. And boy did I love Jamison. He messed up but honestly he owned it. He did what he had to do to be the best man for Sedona and his daughter Palmer, before he could go see them and make things right. And I respected him for that. The way Palmer goes to him and in her own way knows there is something special about him. They bond that they form will melt your heart. I think at times Palmer completely stole the show.
I loved Sedona and while she didn’t make things easy for him, I understood why. Her fears of not only herself getting hit again but her daughter as well. She would do anything for that little girl. She knows that Jamison should be in Palmer’s life and that she deserves to know her father, but her guard is still up and rightfully so. And that’s what makes this story sow sweet and why I loved it. A man fighting to get his family back will get me every time.
Rules For Dating Your ex had everything that you love about this series. You get all the feels, the. Bailey clan always giving their two cents, Grandma Dori with her sidekick doing her best to bring two people together, the laughs, the jokes, the love between them all and last but not least at, the one secret that has been kept for this entire series is finally revealed!!! This one was everything I could have hoped for. A fantastic series may be coming to an end, but we have the spinoff series to look forward to.
I was crying when I reached the end of Rules For Dating Your Ex by Piper Rayne, not just because of the emotional finish, but because it really is the end of the ‘story road’ for the Bailey’s of Lake StarLight. Sedona was the last Bailey to find her happy ever after, and it was a tangled, emotional love story if ever there was one. Sedona met Jamison right at the beginning of the series and they fell madly in love. But, while she went to college in New York, Jamison returned home to play professional football. Eventually, they were reunited when Jamison arrived in NYC to play soccer there and for a time, it seemed all was right in their world, until book 8. Sedona came back to Lake Starlight… pregnant- and alone. Her big love affair was over and done with. Or so it seemed. Sedona has been mentioned at times, been present at others, and only a text or phone call away for the rest in every single book in this fabulous series. But now, she gets to shine the light on her past with Jamison, show us the guy she originally fell for and in time, the one she’ll fall for again. After suffering an accident, Jamison let his frustrations with his lot in life get the better of him and he lost not just his career but his love too. Eighteen months later, he’s ready to be the man… and the father he should have been, but will Sedona give him the chance? He hurt her badly and she’s wary of letting him in. But, her daughter, Palmer, needs her dad. It’s the only reason she allows him to get close. This book had all the feels. It’s angsty, heart-warming and it’ll make you cry. You’ll smile too if bittersweetly as the end is reached. I think Piper Rayne has kept the best until last, as this book filled every nook and cranny. It’s not to be missed that’s for sure.
