Burning for Them

Rate this book
Love makes the world go around, and almost every woman wants a man to call her own.

Sassy, around the way chick, Deanna Martins, is no exception. To the outside world, she seems to live a perfect life— a steady job, stable relationship, and a beautiful home—but appearances can be deceiving. Maintaining her relationship with bougie executive, Trey Charles, has become a full-time job. And more trouble than what it is worth.

Trey is a man with an ego as large as his business, who has an unfortunate habit of putting Deanna last on his to-do list—if she even makes his list at all. His woman is an afterthought. Unfortunately, his emphasis on Deanna’s weight and looks is a top priority. He underestimates the beautiful, caring, woman who stands in front of him. Trey’s mind is permanently elsewhere as he struggles to remain on top. But they say with every problem there is a perfect solution. So, when Trey’s former mentor’s daughter, Cyn Rivers, reappears in his life, he can’t believe his luck. The sexy blonde offers him financial stability like he never knew. Well aware of Deanna’s dismay, Trey takes her up on her offer anyway.

In the midst of Trey’s rejection, an opportunity for Deanna arrives in a very intriguing package. Two sexy brothers with bodies of muscle and steel come on the scene. The Montoya boys set out on a path of seduction and a game for Deanna’s heart. One thing is for sure, life at the station will never be the same. A fire is starting at Ladder 17, and Deanna may not be so willing to extinguish it. Will Deanna succumb to the heat? Will Trey pay for hurting Deanna with money or emotions?

Too much !!!!

Hello,
I rented this book from Kindle Unlimited This nlumited , so my dissatisfaction was tempered some. This is not the first book that I read from this author, the first book was Forgiveness and I appreciated that book with its emotional roller coaster from the main characters to the happy ending, but this book here just confused me. Two many irons int the fire, it appears that there were several stories going on at once. Kind of like this should have been a series of books instead if cramming everything into an epic tale of mind f...king
Read this book at your own peril, but please check out the other novel Forguveness

Not a fan

I couldn’t even get to the halfway point mainly because I couldnt stand the female character Deanna. She’s in a word dumb. Warning slight spoilers ahead.

She’s with a cheating player who in no way what so ever shows he cares for her yet she is sticking with him because he can take her places. It’s like a Mary J song but the female is highly unlikeable her inner thoughts just make you want to mush her face! Her dude made her ride with the movers one of which seemed really nice while he drove his car to his new office. Yet she had the nerve to have a snarky comment about the mover not being the kind of guy for her. Her “man” made her ride with the movers and basically had her carrying boxes and stuff while he shot the breeze with his buddies! When she gets to the office dude has already changed and is eating food he had time to get for himself but not anything for her. It’s like why are you even with this dude?

Not my cup of tea

Not what I expected. It's hard to relate to Deana when she's all over the place with her emotions. Can't stand Trey or the way Dee Dee enables his behavior! The love affair with Erick and Mario was too unbelievable and a little degrading considering how she still ended up going back to Trey..it's like she wasn't sure what she wanted in a man. Just saying, I read all the way to the end hoping she'll find her inner diva just to be disappointed and more confused! I avoid females like Dee Dee because I hate clingy naive and in denial females and I don't plan on reading the next installment, but that's not saying I wouldn't try reading more from this author, I'm still holding out high hopes that this was just one of those books.

This was not a good read.
The story line was all over the place, the characters were badly written and just completely unlikeable.
The writing itself was abysmal. Poor sentence structure, terrible dialogue and paragraphs that went nowhere.
I received a complimentary copy from VRO in return for an honest review.

For adult readers
I don't like this one just because there is to much going on. When I started this book, I didn't realize it is book 1 in a series which it is because it ended with a "to be continued". This thing with Trey and Deanna is so drawn out is boring. This is NOT the book for me.

I’m sorry I just couldn’t finished the book. I even skimmed ahead hoping maybe it would get better. I was thinking a quick betrayal and then a quick seduction but nope. I truly hope Deanna finds some sort of backbone by the end of the book because wow. If you like drama this one is for you.

Too much going on

The first and last read by this author. The foundation of this story was weak and did not flow well. Way too much going on and not very easy to follow.

I am totally in love with this book. The writing was superb and the story line kept me reading. Burning for Them is now in my top 5 books I have read this year.

Waste of money.

Don't spend your money. The delivery is weak, there's no definitive story line. The book was truly a disappointment. Purchase at your own risk.

Nope! This was bad and the worst part is an unlikeable heroine. She’s really awful and the story is just...no. A cliffhanger too?! Save yourself a couple of hours and skip this one.
