Rate this book
Coincidentally providing the backdrop for Argentina's current unrest, this book documents the preceding 50 years of the country's history. It explains the conflict between the Peronistas, the Radical Party, and the military, and highlights the impact of U.S. involvement in the region. Levine (former president, U.S.-Argentina Chamber of Commerce) also offers the elements of the political memoir intrigue, gossip, and brushes with fame. Twenty-five photographs are included. Well written account of one persons 50 year interaction with Argentina as a trade rep, lawyer and advocate for better US-Argentinian trade. The author personally was connected to many of the administrations of Argentina and the US. From the well known Juan Peron to the last in this book, Carlos Menem. A very good account of the policies that led to the ups and the downs of Argentina.
