This book is a super quick read. Even though the plot is pretty predictable, it has enough spark to keep you hooked. It's definitely heavy on the romance, which fits perfectly with the story, and I was totally okay with that.

This book was great. Jesse and Quinn’s story is one that will take your heart out and stomp on it, and put it back together again! Absolutely beautiful! I would give it 10 ⭐️’s if I could!

Wow. Talk about the Queen of twists. I could have had 100 guesses for the end of this book and I would never have guessed it. This book starts off as a little love story with a standard complication. Something to potentially keep the love birds apart or complicate them getting together. Slowly a little mystery starts unraveling and then out of no where a crazy, twisty ending. The very end wrapped up a little too perfectly but I loved the twisted ride.

Once again this Author blew my mind with all the suspense, and twists. This is my go to author when I want a good suspense thriller.
I can't go into detail, just know this series is not going to disappoint, and this can be read as a standalone. I do highly recommend reading the Cleaner as well.

Kiersten Modglin's new book, The Healer is the second in the interconnected, standalone series, The Messes.
We saw a glimpse of Jesse in The Cleaner (Book 1). He was an obvious good guy, but that's all we knew. He was a character that you generally hear about once and that's it.
But Modglin gave him more. She brought his story to life and gah, am I glad that she did!
Jesse and Quinn are those friends that you just fall in love with and then yell at them for not being together because they're so damn perfect together!
Take that cute friendship and add ALL of the TWISTS, because this book is like a West Virginian country road with the curves throw in from nowhere, and you have one hell of a story.
Modglin has a developed a unique style of writing that is different and enjoyable for all. The unconventional plot twists leave you in awe and the way they are delivered is complicated, but work perfect.
The writing has already developed so much from The Cleaner and I really enjoyed that one. With that being said, I can't wait for the rest of this series to see all of the twists and turns Modglin gives us!

Although this can be read as a standalone I highly recommend you read book one as it’s just so good. This is another fab read by the author.
This is Quinn and Jesse story and what a story it is. I absolutely loved these two and was so hoping for the best possible outcome for both.
I was gripped from start to finish with this story. The twists and turns kept on coming. Fabulous storyline with great characters. I can’t wait to read more from this author. This was so so good.

This is book two in "The Messes" series. Although this can be read as a standalone I highly recommend you read book one "The Cleaner" as it’s just so good. This is Quinn and Jesse story.

I read an ARC of the first book in this series and that book was supposed to be a standalone book, so I was really happy when the author announced that there were going to be more books! I then signed up to receive an ARC of this book and started it as soon as I could! After reading, I can say that I enjoyed this book a lot! It drew me in right from the first chapter and only took me a few sittings to read because I didn't want to put it down! The plot also developed at the perfect pace and I really enjoyed the direction that the author took it in! The plot also went in a different direction to what I was expecting, but it was different and a lot happened in it! It had plenty of twist and turns as well! There were a few seriously hot scenes in this book too and they were really, really hot! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Jesse was the main male character, and in this book he worked hard and had a good life! His life then changed and a big revelation made Jesse go through a lot of realisation and think about his life! I loved Jesse a lot in this book and I admired him for the choices he made! Jesse also found out some big secrets in this book and these changed him! It was also easy to see his feelings change into love when it came to his love interest and he was protective of her! Quinn was the main female character and love interest of Jesse! I liked Quinn a lot in this book and I could understand why she was the way she was with Jesse and she was protective of him! Quinn also had feelings for Jesse, but she was scared and didn't want to admit her feelings for him in case he didn't feel the same way! Quinn also worked hard and she had a good job! Like Jesse, Quinn went through a lot in this book and discovered secrets that changed her life and this made my heart go out to her! I loved that this book was written from both Jesse and Quinn's point of views! I was expecting it to be after I read the synopsis because it makes it sound like the book is going to be written this way, so I'm really happy that it was! It helped me connect more with both characters and it allowed me to understand them more and It allowed for more things to happen in the plot as well, especially as Jesse and Quinn were going through their own things! I now can't wait to read the next book in this series! I know that it's going to be a standalone book, because the ending of this book was left at the perfect place, but this has me even more excited for it! I also read the synopsis and it sounds very intriguing, so I can't wait for it to release! It says on Goodreads that it releases at the beginning of November, which isn't long to wait at all! The cover for this book is also perfect for it! I love it a lot and it suits the new cover for the first book too! It would definitely draw me to the book and the cover model is also the perfect Jesse! Big thank you to Kiersten for an ARC of The Healer!

The author wasn't kidding when she said Jesse's life was in shambles. He lost the woman he thought he loved, lost a patient and made a dumb mistake afterwards. The one constant in his life is Quinn, his best friend. She's been with him thru everything except the dumb mistake. This is when things get complicated. Jesse is trying to stand up and do the right thing but he doesn't want to hurt Quinn. This is honestly when the story takes a weird and creepy turn. I must say I wasn't expecting this at all. It was a head turner for sure. Jesse and Quinn handle it a lot better then I would. Their parents and their friends are awful people..I'm glad they got what they deserved.. they messed up a lot of people's lives just because they weren't like them. How awful is that? Anyway it was great to see Jesse find love again, stand up for what's right and have a happy ever after or I at least hope so. Him and Quinn are perfect together.

The story of Jesse and Quinn was a truly remarkable novel. Their story engulfed me and had me reading it straight through in one sitting. True to form, just as the reader thinks they know the direction that the this author is taking the book, she manages to twist it around and throw the reader off kilter. Very well written characters, the dual point of views and impressive plotline made for a really enjoyable read.

Following Jesse and Quinn - best friends, colleagues, confidantes and general all round cheerer-uppers since they were kids...things are changing between them, their feelings are growing!!!
Throw in some indecision, fear, an unexpected pregnancy and one hell of an evil twist which NO ONE could have predicted and you have the everything you could want in an amazing read!
From the anticipation of will they/won't they. To screaming at the book and wanting to bang their stubborn heads together!!! The Healer is by far my favourite book of Kiersten's - deliciously dark and twisted with a good measure of suspense, a lot of tears and true, absolute life changing love.

And I thought I enjoyed the first book in this series...this one blew it out of the water for me! I started last night and was finished with it by this afternoon. There was just so much going on and I had to know what happens next so I kept turning the pages. The twist towards the end...whoa! I won't say anymore but if you're looking for something to read that is fast paced and a different storyline, pick up this book!

The healer was such a good read, I so loved Quinn, she was so full of spunk and was truly an awesome friend to Jesse. Seeing these two together pulled at my heart strings. I highly recommend this book and series.
Kiersten Modglin is such an awesome author. I have truly enjoyed each of her books and stories. She knows how to pull her readers in the books and make them feel like they are living the story with the characters.

The pro-life rhetoric in this book made it so hard to get through. This series is one of the author’s more intriguing but the anti abortion storyline was incredibly disappointing.

If you've read The Cleaner, then it's time to move onto The Healer. You don't necessarily have to read The Cleaner, but some crossover characters will make more sense.
I had no idea who I was reading about until I was about 20% into it and the DUH light turned on. Haha.
Jesse is a well-known doctor who is struggling to get over his ex Reagan. Quinn is his best friend and nurse who is there for him every step of the way.
Twist and turns in the book kept me on my toes. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the author throws in something I didn't see coming and I wanted to throttle some of the sub-characters.
Jesse and Quinn are perfect together and I recommend this book to anyone who will listen. The author almost made me cry and I'm not a cryer, but there were tears forming. Tears of happiness and joy. So don't wait, get your copy today!

Here we have Jesse and Quinn's story and what a story it is. This is book two in the Messes series and can be read as a stand-alone but I highly suggest reading both of them, they're that amazing.
A story full of surprises and twists with a love story worth reading. A well written story with characters you'll love. It's hard to put down and you're wanting, no, needing more.
Trust me when I say this, you think you have it all figured out, but you don't. So worth the read!!!

I loved this book. My emotions were all over the place. The characters are great together. At one point I was yelling at the book. Don't think for a minute that if you have secrets you can't be with anyone. Yes you can. While this book can be a good standalone book, I recommend you also read the Cleaner.

Oh my. What can one say about this book. Jesse and Quinn's relationship will melt your heart. Their chemistry was absolutely beautiful. Everything they go through just to have their happily ever after made my head spin. There was a lot of shock factors that happened in this story I probably looked like I was trying to catch flies with how often my jaw dropped. Kiersten Modglin you my dear are absolutely fan-freaking-tastic! Great job! And keep up with the good work! I absolutely rootin tootingly loved this book!!!

This is Jesse and Quinn’s story. These two are like the definition of sexual tension!! I love them both and I think their story was beautiful.
This book is full of surprises and twists. I was not ready for all of that. It was awesome. But the love story was so dynamic and I was so glad Jesse got his happy ending.
The author did a wonderful job of story telling. I whipped through this book like it was nothing. This book keeps you wanting more.

This is the second book in the messes series and can be read as a stand alone.
It took me a minute to remember who Jesse was from the first book since it has been a bit. He is Reagan's ex-fiance. Once I got that squared away in my mind, I really settled in for the ride. Jesse and Quinn have been best buddies since they were tiny but something changed and they started seeing each other differently. Boy does this story take you for a ride. It took me a minute to remember who Jesse was from the first book since it has been a bit. He is Reagan's ex-fiance. Once I got that squared away in my mind, I really settled in for the ride. Jesse and Quinn have been best buddies since they were tiny but something changed and they started seeing each other differently. Boy does this story take you for a ride. Jesse and Quinn have been friends since they were in diapers. Working together at the same hospital, and spending time together each night, Jesse finds his feelings for Quinn changing. Throw in a huge life complication, which leads to the discovery of deep dark family secrets. Can Jesse and Quinn find their way through it? This story certainly had an original twist to it. Interesting story! This can be read as a stand alone, but it would be helpful to read book 1 to know how Reagan and Gunner fit in.

Wow ! This is as like that Christmas present that you open and there is another gift wrapped up inside the first one . The story just kept getting more involved and better as you went !!
Quinn and Jess we’re friends forever as little kids hanging around and taking vacations together . Being each other’s best friends and supporting each other . Both working in the same hospital and coming from a small home town . A must read romance !!

This book can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the first book since characters from the book are mentioned. Jesse and Quinn were cute. Quinn has had a crush on her best friend Jesse but never made a move and Jesse finally noticed her as a woman at his ex’s wedding. It was an enjoyable read, I’m glad Jesse got his happy ending!

Wow, what can i say about this one. This book has it all! Good plot, great characters, romance and thrills. This is Quinn and Jesse story and what a story it is. I absolutely loved these two and was so hoping for the best possible outcome for both.
I was gripped from start to finish with this story. The twists and turns kept on coming. Fabulous storyline with great characters. I would definatly recommend this author.
