CLASSIC CYBORG LIQUID COOL: THE CYBERPUNK DETECTIVE SERIES From the Crazy Maniac Files (Book One)

It's Sci-Fi Meets the Crime Thriller! It's Blade Runner Meets The Maltese Falcon! It’s cyberpunk reimagined.

LIQUID COOL is the action-packed (and funny) cyberpunk detective series. Tag along with Cruz, our private eye (and unlikely hero), in the fifty-million-plus, supercity of Metropolis— ever-raining, colossal skyscrapers, hovercar-filled skies, and flashy neon streets below.

Uber-governments and megacorporations fight for control, but so does crime.

What are the Crazy Maniac Files?

Cruz has dealt with all kinds of criminal crazies—and even crazier clients. This supercity has a million victims and perpetrators but this LIQUID COOL Mini-Series will feature one “crazy maniac.”

As you dive into the action, we could tell you to watch out for tech-tricksters, analog hustlers, neon gangsters, or digital mercenaries, but the only thing to fear in this story are the cyborgs—lots of them…and the legend known as CLASSIC CYBORG.

Welcome to the high-tech, low-life world of Liquid Cool.

“Crazy maniacs—criminals and clients alike—from all walks of life, all kinds of neighborhoods.”
“Metropolis was an unwieldy monolith of a supercity, the largest and most powerful supercity on Earth, and where Cruz, generalist detective gets himself tangled in all sorts of impressive and impossible situations, Hell diving persecutions, riddled with unlikely Cyborg characters, twisted and hair raising moments, unexpected turns, with a heavy dose of fun witty and sarcastic dialogue, a touch of humour in an otherwise hard and grey world where it never stops raining. The universe build is exquisite, finery in details, social customs, arquitecture, tech applied, as well as thought provoking situations. The tech and society may have advanced, but humankind remains unchanged, the life long struggle to survive, to dominate, subjugate..The Liquid Cool series and its side story series like this book are excitingly captivating, engrossing and so immersive. It’s a hard to put down read! Looking forward to more stories from Cruz’s files! A definite recommendation! I am voluntarily leaving a review with no obligation of an advance copy I received from the author.

Classic Cyborg - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Liquid Cool is the detective agency run by Cruz, a fedora-wearing Humphrey Bogart-like old-fashioned private eye, with the backup of his PA/sidekick PJ, aka Punch Judy, due to her cyborg-enhanced arms and hands. The story takes place in the permanently caught in a downpour city of Metropolis, that could be straight from the film Fifth Element where inhabitants travel by hover-car and has a quite similar cast of villains, aliens, corrupt governments and their fight for control of the dark, mean streets that comprise the noir-like atmosphere.
The Cyborgs, with their arsenal of illegal weapons, are the antagonists in this cyberpunk sci-fi adventure, while Cruz's client is also a cyborg gangster-turned therapist, whose child is missing.
Classic Cyborg is Austin Dragon's 1st novel in the Liquid Cool Crazy Maniac Files spin-off series that's sure to be a popular addition to the main Liquid Cool winners. Get your copy before they all sell out, as they're sure to do with this excellent newcomer to the Liquid Cool arc...then tell all your friends!

OUR Fav PI returns

As my fav PI books its always great to read these and this aid yet another classic !. With the streets going to war as the Cyborg gangs try to win a wager the outcome is almost certain until Liquid Cool gets involved. The story is as hidden and convoluted as usual, the enemies larger than life and the page turning just as frantic as the action as yet again Austin shows us a future city that he brings to an exacting realism and a hero who just keep getting better ever time i read about him. 5 stars cause Amazon doesn't let me do 6.

"I don't like being shot."
In the city of Metroplolis, with a population of 55,000,000 the largest municipality on Earth, three cyborg gangs are poised on the edge of war, each seeking sole supremacy. Metropolis is also the home of the Liquid Cool Detective Agency and it's sole P.I.,the now renowned Cruz, who receives an unexpected client, once the most feared gang leader of them all, and one whose mere name can still cause terror, Mr.Classic Cyborg. Retired some 25 years before and now apparently devoted to good works and saving young people from a similar life of crime, he claims that someone is trying to kill him and wants Cruz to find out who it is. Trusting no one, Cruz first looks into his client's background before throwing his enquiries into the crazy, violent world of cyborg lowlife and becoming entang!ed in a plot with more twists than Hampton Court maze. Bombs, blood and body parts abound with real no-time-to-catch-your -breath action, colourful villains with silly names and even a delicious wry humour, this is very much cyber noir.

Good fun, good story, good read, if fast paced zapping and general destruction on the mean streets of Metropolis is your thing.

Classic Cyborg is a book set in the Liquid Cool series. This can be read as a standalone, but reading previous books in the series gives an understanding of the setting and Cruz. There is a lot of violence. This is a classic Cruz move. He takes what seems to be a "normal" case and it spirals out of control. He finds himself in difficult situations and facing impossible odds of survival. This is a definite read if you are a Liquid Cool fan.

Solid Cool

I've been a fan of the Liquid Cool series since book one, and each volume just gets better. Austin Dragon delivers just the right combination of noir/ scifi/Raymond Chandler seasoned with just a dash of snarky rhetoric that reminds me of Nick and Nora or "His girl friday." What's next?

Really smart and strong hybrid novel

Cyborgs and detectives and criminals and post -something worlds - the plot was mostly good and the writing supple - liked that the PI had a family life - enjoyed the flow

Good fun

A lighthearted murder comedy that just skirts too cute and tiptoes around absurdity. Welcome to a future you will not believe but will smile at.
