Vol has brought the people of Efftin to a new place they can build upon and protect. A new place they can call home. It’s a place others can join them in their freedom of oppression. With this new place to live, Vol understands the responsibility he has to protect those that reside there. But in Herst, if you wish to keep anything you must be willing to fight to hold onto it. What challenges will he face, and will he be strong enough to resist the unknown threats that he will encounter.
Now that is more like it. Don't get me wrong, it is still a weaker version of the Land series by Aleron Kong . It is a smorgasbord of overpowered fun and magic though. The first 1/3 of the book is the group leveling and town building. The next thing the group does is leave for the capital to try and see about freeing some slaves. There is a surprise battle at the end of the book Overall this book is candy for people that like litrpg style books with overpowered MCs with lots of magic.
Well written, I liked it, but was really disappointed with the Harem thing. One of the things I liked a lot about the first book was the characters and their interactions, and the Harem plotline feels wierd and forced, and makes the characters involved less real and less interesting.
This novel REALLY needs editing. Multiple instances of duplicate numerals (5050, instead of 50, for example), lots of basic spelling issues ("griping his forearm", should be "gripping his forearm", etc).
But the biggest issue I have with this story is the way the MC totally controls every option for his supposed love interests. He reviews all their choices, tells them what to do, and somehow knows better than everyone even though he's only been on their world for a couple of months!
And his supposedly strong & capable love interests (yes, it's a harem) barely even speak.
This book, as currently written, isn't worth the increase in price from book 1.
Loved this book. I feel that the author is getting better at fleshing his world out and conveying the sense of accomplishment and adventure in Vals story. I am a fan of all the hot spots. Crafting, enchanting, spell modifying, city building , etc. Hope the author takes his time with the over all store arc as there is a lot of adventure to be had in this world. Some authors feel the need to accelerate the menace quickly to draw readers but I am patient and prefer a slow through exploration and growth, much like we have so far. That said, I don't want author to write slow!!! I read fast and lot... So always hungry! Can't wait till number 3.
Loved this book! If you're considering it, (which you obviously are) just get it!
Seriously, you won't regret it. This was an awesome storey that went on well beyond my expectations for the price! This author knows how to write adventure, and still have believable characters, as well as good character interaction.
Word of working to the author though. Watch out for those l 1 n k 5 in the back. That's what got several of my favorite authors in litrpg banned from a$$@mon. Especially if you're doing the Prime subscription service thing.
2.5 stars rounded up to 3 stars. I was very disappointed with the turn to a harem book especially with two of his "women" being literal animals. Bit of a creep factor there. And of course the author had to make them caressing each other and the MC being a bit jealous / envious of that. Gag. Great town building, lots of action, dungeon diving, heroic rescues and plenty of leveling and skill improvement. Due to the creepy sexual situations with the MC's, I'm done reading this series. Too bad, it had such a great plot.
I love the characters, and the story. You can see another war of the gods is coming up so it'll be interesting to see how that goes. However. Please have someone read your work when you're finished writing. There are a lot of typos/spelling mistakes in this. This would probably get 4 stars from me if there weren't so many mistakes. If you ask, I'm sure many readers would be happy to proof read and provide feedback for free
The tales of Vol continue as his town grows and levels. World-building becomes broader and more in depth but his characters do not have depth, detail or backstory. They just appear. The biggest issue is grammar and editing. The story is becoming more interesting; however, the mixture of tenses using incorrect homonyms , sentence fragments, etc. detract from reading enjoyment.
It does get a bit old that the MC keeps getting his behind kicked. He also spends way too much time worrying about his fears of what he is becoming rather than embracing it, it makes him appear weak in character, own his responsibilities and truly lead. I’d like to see the MC way more OP. I’m going to chalk this book up as a transition and hope he is coming into his own.
I've been looking forward to this book since I read the first in this series, and I'm not disappointed. Lots of building, developing, fighting and levelling. An MC you can empathize wholeheartedly with and his ladies are fighting alongside him without the typical whining you tend to get in a lot of books. Now......when does the next in the series come out? Lol!
Nothing new but nothing new needed good story fun development, can heartily recommend. Enjoyed from cover to cover will be buying number three. Only criticism is that it lacks grit feels like coming of age as far as adult content not a full grown man... but to each his own.
If you have read the first book and liked it, then you will absolutely love the second. If you are a fan of litrpg, then I highly recommend that you give this author a shot
I enjoyed the story even more in book 2. Nice mix of battle and development. I hope the author keeps the steady progression and doesn't loose the story to crazy over powering of the main character.
Great mage litrpg with the start to kingdom building
Another great addition to the story. This continues the tale of the mage but he now has a town he controls. The rpg feel is still there and his pets and summons become his new companions.
I've been waiting for book 2 since I finished book 1 only days after it came out. I'm super impressed by the way the author develops the characters feelings and how they interact with each other. I can't wait for the next book.
Excellent read. The characters are cliche and captivating.
From the beginning the author creates a fascinating world which is hard to predict this makes it exciting for me since the obvious conclusions are not always where the story goes. For me this is rare and delightful.
That's the feeling I get from this second book. The Mc starts his own town, gets a dungeon and rescues more slaves. Ha has some adventures along the way and it gets a bit hectic towards the end but mostly it's nice and easy.
Really enjoying this series, but why do so many of the books in this genre have to have harem elements. Would totally be great without this. Don't mind a bit of romance and sex, but it's getting to be crazy that everyone has a harem.
Guys this is a great ,fast read .You will love this I did I read it I bought it I am reviewing it and if you do too.I will be for ever happy .Why you ask?
