There were elements I enjoyed about this book. I didn’t enjoy the political undertones. But the biggest problem with the book for me is that it was a connect a quote book which made the flow of the writing very choppy and hard to follow. I enjoyed reading about the history of the Great Awakenings but wished for less quotes and more commentary:

This is a study of the Awakenings in America. It is early American history that most of us have no knowledge of. There are plenty of footnotes , which can lead to more research.
