4 stars This would have been a five star book if it was just a bit longer, at 190 pages it tells a great story but the characters most of whom are not really a spoiler if you’ve read the first book. Alfhild is a great main character. She’s not only smart but a caring woman, who is going to do her best to make the inn a success. For me the best part of the book The mystery itself was intriguing and I’m looking forward to future books in the series and plan to get the rest of the books very soon.
An absolutely perfect book 2 for this series, as we get to see Alf right in the throes of her ‘fresh start’, and making preparations to begin to open her inn.
Wycherley’s mind must be a very fun place, as this book is absolutely packed with lovable, ‘wonky’ characters … and a few you’ll love to hate for good measure. I may be addicted to this world as I missed it dearly every time I stepped away and absolutely must read on.
Adorable small town, imaginative world-building and witty dialogue to boot.
The Ghosts of Wonky Inn #2 - As much as I liked the first book, I loved this one. I absolutely love the ghosts and what they can actually do. This is one of the things I love about this series; plus the fact that the witch uses magic instead of denying who she is. The variety of ghostly characters are great.
I couldn't put the book down, I was so immersed in the fast paced, funny and intriguing storylines. The characters range in personalities, eras and locations, lending the story depth and substance. I wish all the books of the series had already been published so I could chain read them. I contacted the author to review her books. 5*
The Wonkiest Witch: Wonky Inn Book #1 - This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed the story. As I became wrapped up in the pages, I started enjoying the storylines and the characters and wondering how much witch Alf would become. Since I've been reading about witches a lot lately, I get bored when I come across another witch refusing to be herself. Why deny what you are; do you give yourself a lobotomy if you're intelligent and want to dumb down to normal? One of my role models, as a kid, was Samantha Stevens, she remained true to herself, and an independent woman, regardless of her silly husband's demands; unlike Jeannie, a beautiful, two-legged Labrador (eager to please her master).
Ms. Wycherley's writing style is conversational and casual. The likable and interesting characters are developing at a good rate and will probably gain more depth as the series continues. The storylines do a good job setting the foundation from which the series will build. Once the intros are made there's plenty of intrigue and suspense. A fire opens a can of troubles bringing the witch in Alf to full acceptance. A unique use of ghosts, which I've never read. I'm curious about the rest of the stories. I found this author on and her book through Booksprout. 4*
The Witch Who Killed Christmas - If you at all can, read the other books first, there's spoilers. Another well written, entertaining story that starts around Christmas, just months later after Wonkiest ended. While not as intriguing as Wonkiest, there was a difficult problem to solve. The cast of interesting characters are still around. The writing style is still casual with humor and drama dispersed throughout the story, this is a quickly read novella. I definitely want to read the rest of the stories. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*

Weird Wedding At Wonky Inn #3 - The additions to this series just keep getting better. Another hard to put down story. I love some of the guest characters; especially when she hit him (read the story), although why use blackmail in this case? Alf mixes a party with a vampire wedding and wonders what else is going to happen; lots do happen. Great-grandmother brings her share to the table and then splits, leaving a spot of bother. George is great with his acceptance of the vamps since he didn't get on board quickly about Alf being a witch previously; what trust is that. The past is over for Alf as she finds the Mori is still about. Oh, speaking of the past, how about crazed villagers and a burning (read the story). That's all the spoilers I've giving out. There's more but I want you to enjoy the book like I did, without a book report. 4*
Fearful Fortunes and Terrible Tarot #4 - I can't get enough of this series. I enjoy the characters and their functions throughout the series. This one has almost everyone undercover. Another well thought out addition full of intrigue and suspense, and humor. The storylines are developing and there's definitely bad news ahead. This book is darker than the previous ones and Alf gets to experience what witches suffered through centuries past. I didn't care for the ending; of course for the main reason (read the book) and Alf's attitude was nonchalant concerning that reason. I did enjoy Mama Henri, a voodoo queen from NOLA. 4*
The Mystery of the Marsh Malaise #5 - I absolutely love this series. You never know what to expect from Ms. Wycherley and her crew. Just when you think you know what's going to happen, there's a twist and you're off again working it out. The characters grow on you and the ghosts are a big part of the enjoyment. Yes, there's some darkness in this story; you've the good vs. the bad, plus a lot more in the storylines. There's a new ghost and he's great; I enjoyed what he and another ghost did to help Alf. With George, you know he's going to be found sooner or later, but what else is found and the result is hilarious. Alf is still my type of witch and she keeps kickin' it. Read these books sequentially, it is worth the time invested. A good, clean story full of interesting characters of all sorts and well thought out storylines with twists you just don't see coming sometimes.5*
The Mysterious Mr Wylie #6 – Entertaining and intriguing. Good storylines continued and new make this an interesting series. The past and the present come together with a bit of time travel to 1983, not a time I would have picked. The pace is fast and the characters, old and new, along with the humor help keep the reader immersed in the pages. It is great to see D back and he adds a bit of sexual tension to mix; good banter between him and A. 4*
The Great Witchy Cake Off #7 – There is a whole lot of intrigue with the murder, and pas and possible new love interest. I was happy with all the baking and not one bite available for me to sample, which is so sad since all the desserts sounded worthwhile to indulge with a cuppa. Again, there are good storylines, good characters with appearances from previous books and plenty of additional features in the background making Number 7 a toothy read. After reading so many of this series, it is hard not to get into a book report instead of a review, but I’ll let you discover that for yourself. 4*
Vengeful Vampire at Wonky Inn #8 - while it started slow for me, I was not in the mood for vampires, the pace picked up and I was immersed in the captivating storylines and good characters. This ended up being a good read. The author's talented blending of old and new storylines, vivid descriptions, I fell in love with Romania again, and her creative creation of characters made this story hard to put down once everything came together. Plenty of intrigue and suspense with touches of humor and romance. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout.
Magic, Murder and a Movie Star, #10 - I laughed myself silly with the names of the Witchywood movie cast. Fun. Entertaining. Good story lines with a seamless blending of the old with the new. The characters are always good in this series; you cannot help but love the regular crew and some of the new ones. Lovely surprise for Alfhind near the end. Well written and well thought out. 5*
Judge, Jury and Jailhouse Rockcakes, #11 - A wonderful story with plenty of humor through out the drama, a good balance. Well written and well thought out, the story lines were interesting and the book was hard to put down. Professor Dodo appears in this story; his interesting story is the first of the Wonderland Detective Agency series. Alf's experience as a Goblin is entertaining while performing a great deal of investigations in record time. 5*
A Midsummer Night’s Wonky, #12 - A lot of serious business going on this time around. There is a heatwave that does not help. 80 degrees F in Germany is almost as bad as 100 deg F in Texas, so imagine 70s in the UK. A whole lot of love is happening, including Manc and Silvan, which creates havoc for C and A. A good story. 4*
Pieces of Hate, #15 - It has been a long time since I read Vengeful Vampire at Wonky Inn, #8. I worried about missing the several books between Vengeful and Pieces. Silly me, it was like I never left. I still remembered the characters from the previously read stories. Pieces was fun and interesting, and I did not put the book down until the last page. It was enjoyable to return to Wonky Inn, and this story did not disappoint. Wonky Inn is one of my favorite series to get lost in at any time. 5* Wonky Inn Series End.
Wonderland Detective Agency series. Dead as a Dodo - I enjoy reading books by this author and this one fits in. There are characters from The Wonky Inn series. Eliseo is a good character along with the rest of the cast. Interesting. Fun. Good story lines. Better than a Cozy mystery. 4* Wonderland Detective Agency series end.
Wonderful. A great plot with a terrific new aspect. A ghost getting killed time and time again. The characters just get better and better. Now feeling like old friends. She's still devastated by Jed's betrayal and is finding it hard to get motivated. However the Inn won't repair itself! As her Grandmother is fond of telling her. With more and more ghosts appearing to her she is shocked by the way one ghost is sobbing his heart out and hiding in a closet. When questioned he has difficulty remembering details of his death. Her father tries to bring in help with a ghost whisperer and she also seeks help from an old friend. They can only unearth part of the story. Will she be able to find out more? A trip to the Tower of London, trying to recruit a cook, a nerve-racking drive to a nearby village, a priest bent on holding an exorcism, an attack on her and new plans for the Inn are all woven into a brilliant tapestry as she searches for the killers who keep killing the ghost over and over again. Will she find them? Will her new plans be workable?
Alf is slowly coming to grips with what occured months before when her beau, Jed, tried using her to get her inn and the land. She hadn;t realized how lonely she was. One early morning she;s rudely awakened by sobbing. She tries to follow it and discovers a young woman outside on fire. She tries to help her only to have her disappear on her. That is how she meets, Florence, a young woman who once worked in the Inn. Then again she hears sobbing and she tries to track it down. Up and down stairs, through rooms and still nothing. No other ghost seems to want to help her find the ghost who is sobbing. Then she finds him and discovers a little man who has no memory of what happened to him. All he knows is that he has been killed many times over. So now Alf needs to find out who is trying to kill the little man and for that matter how do you kill a ghost only to have him reappear again. A mystery is a mystery that she has to solve inbetween finding a cook for the inn. Another fantastic story of the wonky inn and it's inhabitants both real and ghostly.

I liked this book even more than the first one! I absolutely am loving this quirky series...I am fascinated by all the ghosts and ancillary characters. The author does a terrific job of drawing you into the story, and winding you into each characters' story. I also really liked that the author didn't ignore Alf's pain from her romance gone awry in the first book. Her depression and listlessness felt believable, as does the way various ghosts help her shake some of it off and move forward. This is a very fun series, and I absolutely love the Wonky Inn at the center of it, and all its "special" inhabitants, especially our witchy innkeeper, Alf. I like that she's accepting herself and her gifts, and that she has a growing confidence in her place in the world. I can't wait for the next book in the series, and am actively seeking out other works by this very talented author! These books are fun to read, and hard to put down!

In Book 1, The Wonkiest Witch, Alf inherits an old inn replete with ghosts. In this book she finds one crying loudly and hiding in terror from those who have killed him over and over again. She doesn’t understand how an already dead ghost can be killed multiple times so she calls in an expert ghost whisperer to help.
I love this series! The books are great fun and filled with lovable and quirky characters. Alf is a spunky witch catching up on the magic lessons she ignored while growing up, which means things don’t always go as she expects.
Jeannie Wycherley is great at bringing her characters to life and drawing the reader into the story. She has quickly become a favorite author and I need to read anything she writes. I can’t wait for the next book to revisit all my new friends…alive and dead!

I absolutely adored The Ghosts of Wonky Inn! Jeannie Wycherley has once again crafted a charming and immersive tale that perfectly blends mystery, a touch of the supernatural, and delightful character development. The quirky setting of the Wonky Inn is as enchanting as ever, and the story kept me hooked from start to finish with its clever twists and warm-hearted moments.
Kim Bretton’s narration is simply superb—her voice brings the characters to life with such personality and nuance that I felt like I was right there in the heart of the mystery. Her pacing, tone, and emotional depth added an extra layer of magic to an already captivating story.
This second installment in the series is a must-listen for fans of cozy mysteries. It’s entertaining, atmospheric, and full of heart. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Wonky Inn!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
Alf has banished the demons and is trying to get over a broken heart while continuing to fix up the Wonky Inn. She is awoken by crying and soon discovers a sobbing spirit that is lost and confused. All that he can remember is that he keeps being “killed”. How can that be? Isn’t a ghost already dead?
If a dying ghost isn’t enough of her problems, Alf is trying to hire a chef for the Inn, but no one wants to work at a wonky little inn with ghosts. She hires a ghost whispering to give her a hand, but things don’t turn out the way she plans.
This book is filled with lots of humorous situations, lovable and quirky characters, and a mystery with a twist. I just love Alf, her ghostly grandma, and all the other ghostly creatures at the Wonky Inn.

Troubles abound for Alf after her heart is broken by someone she trusted now she's being kept awake by a brokenhearted ghost who cant remember how he died or why it keeps happening over and over again talk about holding a grudge. And this is the least or maybe the next most on her list of things to do. 1.clean up Inn. 2. Help Ghost. 3. Hire Chef. (One willing to work with ghostly staff). Scratch that maybe not could get ghost whisper to intervene or hire some one to exercise ghostly helpers. Scratch that last one only troublesome ghosts. 4. Grandmother Gwen ( Deceased taking care of hiring Chef). 5. Get Inn opened and learn to drive. Solve the ghostly Inn issues and ferret out new enemy. Alf certainly has a busy schedule ahead and im sure there are many more adventures to come.

Alf is slowly getting things under control at the Inn however she still has a ways to go but someone keeps waking her when they cry and she needs to find out how to help them. I just love the ghosts that hang out at the Inn including her Dad, Grandmama, Florence, Zephaniah and you hope as you read this story they will not only help Luppitt but pull together to help Alf also. Luppitt's sad tale leads Alf on quiet the adventure including going to London to try and find out who is still after him all these years later. There are plenty of suspects to work through as well as surprises to be had in regards to the Wonky Inn that keep you on your toes and guessing what will happen next!

Alfie or Alf has inhertited an old mansion from her grandparents which she decided to turn into an inn. But can how can any building that is haunted by more than 30 ghosts be turned into an inn?
A ghost whisperer she has tried to make peace with all the ghosts living there but still is plagued with insomnia as she tries to banish her pain of love lost and betrayal.
Get immersed in Alf's adventures as she struggles with herself, another ghost whisperer, a crying ghost, an ex-boyfriend, a priest bent on exorcism and of-course getting the Inn ready.
A light hearted, fun read that will give you loads of smiles, a few stray tears and a world you would like to get lost into all the time.
Once again we join Alfhild Daemonne at the Wonky Inn (otherwise known as the Whittle Inn) where she welcomes any ghosts who come her way. However, her patience wears thin when she is woken up in the middle of the night by crying. This happens three times a night but she cannot find the ghost and in the end asks her resident ghosts who it is. Eventually, one of them tells her which bedroom the crying ghost is in and she finds him hidden away in the cupboard. His name is Luppitt Smeathearte and, after she learns his story, it leads to us meeting some very whacky characters, mostly of the ghostly kind but one, Perdita Pugh, who is a ghost whisperer. Extremely entertaining series which is suitable for all ages. A nice, light, relaxing read.
Who knew all that about ghosts? I did not. Die over and over again? How can a ghost cook and a non- ghost eat it? Just to name a few.
Love the decision for what the in will be like. My only complaint is that I wish she would just call it Wonky Inn. The original old name just confuses me.
I have to say that I learned lots of new British English words. Might have to create a dictionary to keep handy when reading future books in the series.
Book 2 in the series just makes it better. What will the next books bring?
This is my honest and freely given receive. I received an ARC book.
Combine murder ( if a ghost can be murdered ) all the problems of setting up an inn with a mind of its own ( a ghostly mind ) an interfering great grandmother ( ghostly naturally ) a long standing feud ( with a ghost ) and a brilliant imagination combined with a genius for story telling and you have a wonky good series . This can be read as a standalone but with several references to things that happened in book one you may want to read in the right order Ghostly but not ghastly this is a spooky story you will want to read again and again

It was a little slow at first, and I almost quit reading it, but I am so glad I didn't, as it went on it got so much better that I could not put it down. Inheriting an inn filled with ghosts who were happy to work and fix it up for you, who wouldn't like that. This was the first book I read in this series and it didn't matter very much. After reading this book, I went and purchased the other two, one being a Christmas book, I can't wait to get started on both. This is new author to me and I was given an ARC and am leaving an honest and unbiased review because I want to.

A Funny and Magical Romance series You will love each book in this series. They are so funny and Unique. The characters are awesome. Alf is a spunky and sassy young witch. She owns the Whittle Inn aka the Wonky Inn. She has unique staff as they are ghosts. Alf is trying to get over betrayal and a broken heart. Now another new Ghost shows up , and is a crying one! This is not good for the Inn. As Alf tries to get it up and running. There is a huge mystery around this ghost. That could put them all in danger. Alf must solve this unique mystery. Before she can get anything done! Plus she must locate a Chef. You will love this super fun, thrilling, funny, exciting, and quirky Romance!
Our heroine is awakened by a crying ghost that claims she is going to be killed again. Is that even possible?
I love the Wonky Inn series. It has just the right amount of the fantastic to be believable, almost like a real place. And the characters (including the dead ones!) are quirky, unique and just downright fun. Our heroine has to face problems, but there is enough humor throughout the story to keep it light and fun. This is a perfect relaxing weekend read. Now I just need the next one.
Highly recommended.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout for review purposes.
As a new fan of this fantastic series, there are too many reasons why I really enjoyed this novel. The writer keeps you on your toes with her gang of ghosts and their tales.
This story follows one particular ghost and how Alf wants to help him. While searching for a chef, making repairs to the Inn and dealing with new ghosts, a specialists arrives to help out. No wonder Alf can't sleep!
This brilliant world building series leads you to believe that Wonky Inn could in fact exist! And I honestly think this series would make a great tv show! Can't wait to read the next book!
As the owner of a haunted Inn, it shouldn’t bother Alf that she has acquired one more ghost, but when the ghost keeps her awake with his wailing, she knows she has to do something! Trying to track down who the ghost was is one thing, trying to figure out who his ghostly killers are is quite another! To top it all off, Alf is trying to get her Inn ready to open in a few months, as well as recovering from a broken heart of her own.
A quirky paranormal cosy mystery, filled with magical hijinks, ghostly misdemeanors and of course, the feathery wonder Mr. Hoo (the owl). A fun read for fans of magical mystery stories.
Audiobook: I was as entertained by this story as the first one in the series. I was amused by the idea that a ghost thought someone was trying to murder him. I enjoyed the quirky characters. I was thrilled by the wandering path, which was as twisted as a pretzel. which Alfhild Daemonne followed in order to solve the mystery. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Kim Bretton's narration was skillful, and I enjoyed her performance a lot. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
I really enjoyed this book. Alf is getting the Inn ready to open while she’s solving the puzzle of how a ghost can be killed over and over after he’s dead. She calls in Perdita, a ghost whisperer who is a hoot, to help. It’s a clean read with no inappropriate language or situations.
Not having read the first book I would have liked a paragraph or two explaining what had already happened but that in no way took away from the story and this book can be easily be read as stand alone.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved this book to receive 5 stars from me means I want to read more from this author. Unfortunately I have not read the 1st book in this series and it was referenced many times, would suggest you read it first. Think it is great that Alf, the main character is such a compassionate person, allowing about 60+ ghosts to live in her inn. Interesting the way history is intertwined throughout the book. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Can definitely recommend..

The second book that I started during the early morning (after finishing 1st book) and started reading when I got in tonight, really enjoying the characters and how it is different from other books in the cozy mystery/paranormal theme. Alf a witch continues to try to set up her inherited wonky inn, assisted by varying ghosts from many centuries. There is a traitor in the midst but will Alf find them in time or will her ghosts be exorcised? Start at book 1 to meet Alf and join her in her quest to start a new life in Devon you won’t be disappointed!
A great sequel to book 1, and another thoroughly enjoyable cozy mystery. I loved the first book, and I thought this one was even better!
The inn is haunted by ghosts - a lot of ghosts. New characters are introduced, who endear themselves to you immediately, and there's a mystery to solve. One of the ghosts is being killed over and over again - who knew ghosts could die? - and Alf is determined to find out why.
Once again, the witty dialogue and story line carry you along, keeping you turning the pages up to the final revelation. What a great series!
This is my first Jeannie Wycherley book and I have to say I am hooked. I want to move to the Inn and live there. I have enjoyed the characters in this book and will be reading more. One more ghost comes to live at the Inn however this one is more insistent than the others and Alf has to do something or she is never going to have a good night's sleep. Can she find out who the ghost is and who the killer is without any more trouble?.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Humor action magic and ghosts lots and lots of ghosts, a brilliant storyline with astounding characters although most of them are ghosts. When the new owner of the Wonky Inn discovers that one of her ghostly residents is being murdered over and over again she resolves to help him, firstly discovering how someone who is already dead can be killed again, to find the answers she needs she will have to search through history and talk to ghosts from the past, its a good job she's a ghost whisperer. A real page turner not to be missed, Baz.
If you are into ghost stories like I am them this series is just down your alley. So... this crooked, ancient Inn is run by a witch and ghost whisperer and it appears she loves a good mystery, all the better for us hey? And you better believe that no one comes between her and her many scores of ghosts, yes that's right...more than one! The narration was done by Kim Bretton in a lovely voice, I really enjoyed listening to her tell the story. Looking forward to more in this series by Jeannie Wycherley.
