Lots of action, though not quite enough retribution!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😔🤨😛😁

The Hero: Wulfe Terberger - he is from an extremely wealthy family and is a former German Navy special forces officer that volunteered for a top-secret research project creating super soldiers in the Amazon using a plant called Ayahuasca that local medicine men have been ingesting for years which has been reported to cause them to have special abilities. Though the volunteers from the special forces of thirteen different countries hadn’t known they would end up being prisoners who were experimented on and tortured. Wulfe and his friends, The Dogs of War, escaped two years ago, recently they freed others from three research camps including the one they were held at, and now are going after Silverstone Collaborative, the company behind it all and Damon Wilkes, the owner.

The Story: The three “Dogs of War” that escaped from the camp in Brazil, all have enhanced abilities, including increased strength, speed and healing abilities. They also have increased intelligence and powers of the mind, which include the ability to sway people, some telekinesis, and the power to read emotions of other people. They are the super soldiers that the Silverstone Collaborative and the countries involved sought to create. However, when they escaped, they took with them the secrets to the serum that created them since the lead Doctor died right before their escape. They took his journals and thumb drives. Silverstone has been trying to re-acquire the three men ever since.

The heroine: Elizabeth Wilkes - she had married Damon Wilkes years ago for her family, she never loved him like a wife should love her husband and as the years went by, she actively started to dislike him. She stayed with him for her son Blake’s sake, but eventually found out things about him and suffered his abuse and cheating, so she decided to take her life into her own hands for herself and her son. Though ever since Damon’s mistress Priscilla died, he had been behaving erratically until finally he took her son and ran. Elizabeth had been Wulfe’s “inside man” at Silverstone and had been feeding him information for months, but now she went to him for help.

Like the previous books in this series, there was a lot more action and suspense than steam. Though there was romance throughout the book as the two main characters got to know each other again. They had dated when they were young, so this was a second chance romance, which I usually am not too fond of, but this one was good. I started this book in the evening and couldn’t put it down until I finished it at after 3:00 am.

I received this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I couldn't put this book down just like the other two in the series, it grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go. No, not even at the end. To me at least there were a few things not tied up so I was pleased to learn that there will be more.

The story picks up not to long after Destruction ended. Wulfe goes back to Washington to finish what the Dogs of War had started only to be drawn into more intrigue and drama. We meet his confidant and find out a few things about Dr. Elizabeth Cole along the way. So much more comes out about this heinous project and the men behind it.

The story was fast paced and it had a few surprises along the way. I liked the introduction of Noah, one of the many body guards employed by Elizabeth's husband Damon. He is a very greedy man with very little conscience. He is only out for money and lots of it. How I disliked him. Ms. Madden created the perfect villains in this series and he is one of them.

This one ended and I wanted more. I hope we see more of these amazing characters and their women. They deserve every happiness for what they went through and it seems like they found it. I loved this story. The whole series is full of action and great characters. It also brought a host of emotions and Ms. Madden brings those emotions to the surface. Her characters are well developed and the stories grip you from the first page and well they leave me wanting more. Add a wonderfully alpha dog in there and that's what a good story teller does, at least in my opinion.

Not all receive the punishment for the wrongs they committed against the military men they experimented on which genetically altered them while killing many others but I guess that leaves the door open for future books.

The Dogs of War are military 3 men who survived the torture and experiments done to them by the Collaborative. Their goal has been to both rescue other test subjects and to bring down those who sanctioned and were apart of the experiments. This third book in the series has Wulfe Terberger along with the CIA going after and arresting those involved. This gets wrapped up with him helping Elizabeth Wilkes whose family and husband runs the company responsible. She and Wulfe have history and she comes to him when her husband who has the serums kidnaps her son.

Tons of suspense and a second chance romance. Looking forward to seeing where this series goes now.

This is the third installment of J.M. Maddens Dogs of War series. She has once again captured my attention from the first page to the last. I've been sitting here trying to decide what to say that will make you understand just how good this book is. Wulfe and Elizabeth are one of my favorite couples and there are a few surprises revealed about them throughout the book. If you've followed this series, you'll be glad to see justice served and those involved made to take responsibility for their actions. All I can really say is it's a killer book and well worth your time and money. Hope there are many more books to come in this series. As with the characters in her Lost and Found series, J.M. has created another group of men well worth getting to know.

I'm glad things were wrapped up for the guys, that they are able to come out of hiding and live again, but I feel like the ending to this one was a bit anti-climatic. I feel like Damon got off a bit to easy for all the evil he helped create. The Senator that helped him got off even easier. Elizabeth was able to redeem her company by helping the survivors and found romance again with Wulfe. I did like how this one ended, loved the new direction life was going for those involved.

Loved it!

This series is fantastic! You must read it as a series to get the depth of the story. I cannot wait to see what happens as the Dogs continue to dismantle the people who participated in the torture they suffered. Elizabeth hopefully will play a big role in healing the soldiers who were exposed to the venom. Bravo JM! Absolutely love the series! Bravo and Write On!!!!! Davia

I received this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I will not go into details of the book - the back of the book tells you plenty already, no spoilers from me!

The book was action-packed, with German Wulfe Terberger as the Dog of War to lead this last installment, Elizabeth a great lady to have on your side, Blake a fantastic kid, a real dog, and a range of good and (truly) evil other characters bringing the story to a -happy- end.

After Genesis, Chaos and Destruction, Retribution concludes the main storyline of the Dogs of War series, with some threads and the door left wide open for more books, which will tremendously please J.M. Madden’s LNF and DoW enthusiasts!

Highly recommended for anyone who likes military romance, books with some action, characters who have been through a physical/emotional wringer, and a happy ending.

Deserves more than 5 stars

Dang JM Madden you sure can blow a book right threw the heart. Wulfe..... Wow what a strong amazing sexy man. Elizabeth was a total shock but a total awesome additions. I truly hope there are a few more books to this series. This book is well written, emotional charge, and a exciting rush. Pages pull you in, events end different than expected but you never lose sight of a waxing little boy. His bodyguard and the love between two astonishing characters. Thank you Mrs Madden for a spectacular read

Can't wait to read more about the men from The Dogs of War

Retribution gives you Wilde and Elizabeth's story as well tying some of the loose end with the drug that enhanced the men of The Dogs of War. Throw in a kidnapping of Dr. Elizabeth Cole's son Blake and the fight to keep the drug out of the hands of foreign countries who only want to use both the super soldiers for taking over the world etc.

Wulfe wants nothing more than to have the Collaborative to be punished for using the soldiers as guinea pigs with the serum. But he's now working with Agent Rose at the CIA now to find Damon Wilkes who has disappeared with his son. But he has a past history with Elizabeth whose company has made the dangerous serum but he'll find out that she has a secret that may change things. I loved Blake and his love for Seben one of the dogs guarding the senators estate and also Noah his fierce guard/protector who will do anything to keep Blake safe.

Dr. Elizabeth Cole has found out what Damon Wilkes has used her company for and wants to not only make amends but help the soldiers who were used as test subjects. But first she has to find out where Damon has taken her son Blake all while helping Agent Rose and Wulfe who she loved years ago. Can they find Blake in time and switch the serum vials in time or will another unknown person decide who should have the serum? Will Wulfe figure out who else wants the serum to continue the testing?

Since the men broke out of the hell that was the research camp, Wulfe has been instrumental in getting them where they are now. In the last couple of books he's been a bit of a mystery as he works behind the scenes in Washington. He hasn't heard from his informant and he's very worried. In this book we find out the who and the why.

Elizabeth Wilkes is the major shareholder in Silverstone, not her soon to be ex Damon. She's now going to have to come out from behind her own research and shutdown all the bad Damien's created.

Apparently Damon has his own ideas as he takes off with their son and his bodyguard. Leaving Elizabeth distraught and seeking help from the only person she knows can help, Wulfe.

It wasn't too difficult to find where Damon was hiding out,  Elizabeth's son Blake and his bodyguard Noah were capable of helping out a bit.

So many things happen in this book, we learn so much more about Wulfe and his relationship with Elizabeth. There's plenty of emotion, action, laughter suspense and tears.

Plus we get to  see everyone from the previous books as more and more pieces come together, and the attraction between Elizabeth and Wulfe grows exponentially.

I really can't wait for Catalyst to be released!

My favorite of the series! I love a good second chance romance, and this one was fantastic. I have been interested in Wulfe since we first met him in Genesis, and Elizabeth is a perfect match for him. They have a shared history, but their connection is still obvious even though so much has gone on since they were forced apart. Elizabeth is a strong heroine who is ready to take back control of her life. Wulfe supports her and believes in her like no one else. Their romance was really touching, and I just adored the ending.

There is a good amount of action and intrigue in this story, and it gets started right from the beginning. Additional questions about the project are answered, and there were definitely some twists. The pacing is spot-on, and I just couldn't put this book down.

Somehow I skipped over reading book 2 in the series (what fun is reading in order?) and while the books are closely intertwined, I didn't feel like I really missed out. I will definitely need to go back and read Fontana's story though! I cannot wait for more in this series! I hope Noah gets a story!

*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

I received an arc for review purposes, but with that said, I always look forward to new books from J.M. Madden, and this one did not disappoint. It is the third book in the Dogs of War series and I can't wait to read all of the stories this new set of heroes have to tell us.

While it can be read as a stand alone book, reading the previous books will offer more detailed background on what is happening and why, as well as insight to other characters. The Dogs of War are a close knit group of servicemen who escaped from an experimental study with scars that are both emotional and physical as well as a few "extras" they didn't have before. They stand together as brothers even though they don't share blood.

Retribution is Wulfe's story and is filled with intrigue, drama and heart warming moments as he meets his first love all over again and they set out to clear her name and the reputation of her company with a few surprises along the way. I definitely recommend this book, I had a very hard time putting it down once I started reading.

I became a major fan of JM Madden after reading the Lost and Found Series and became a fan for life when she responded to my emails asking questions about some of her characters. After reading Genesis, the Dogs of War had me anxiously waiting for the next books. I have read them all. Each one gives you a glimpse of what these men went through and how they got to the other side while also giving nods and updates on some of our favorite LNF characters. They are full of action and intrigue. Retribution had me hooked from page one and took me on a ride of who is bad, who is good and when will the bad guys get their comeuppance. I could not put this book down. Madden answers many questions but also adds new ones which means there are more books coming! Please let Noah be one of them. The story between Wulfe and Elizabeth and the forces that kept them apart in the past is sad but their second chance at love is sweet. I hope we see more of Wulfe in the upcoming books. I feel there is more to be told there.

Finally, the culmination of the "Dogs of War"! If you've been following the story, you've been waiting just as long as I have for wrap up to this epic story. Wolf and Elizabeth's tale doesn't disappoint, full of action and adventure, and a few surprises as well. As for the relationship aspect, it's refreshing to see characters who are secure in themselves, mature in their emotions, and trust in each other rather than jump to conclusions or fall prey to wild misunderstandings.

Honestly, I was sad to see "Dogs of War" come to an end. Don't get me wrong, after all this time it was totally worth it, but I wanted more: more time with the men! There just wasn't enough of the other War Dogs in this story to suit this greedy reader. What can I say? I know, I know, the book would have been ridiculously bloated, because there would have been all kinds of scenes that didn't further the plot in any way... but wouldn't YOU want more Aiden and Drake?

And hey, what about a HEA for that hard-as-nails G-man?

Come on, admit it, you're thinking it, too.

When the Dogs of War series first came out I was sceptical. I mean I loved the Lost n Found series so much I didn't think I could like a spin-off anywhere near close to it, now I'm sorry to see it end. Just like her other series, J.M. Madden creates a group if characters that you'd love to meet in real life.
Retribution sees Wulfe get his HEA. It's fast paced, full of surprises, and happy endings. I liked the change in that Wulfe and Elizabeth knew each other before, but it wasn't through any fault or miscommunication of their own that they were parted. Elizabeth's character really shown through in the way she accepted blame for not being more involved to see what was happening. I loved how Wulfe didn't jump to hurt and blame when he found out what Elizabeth had to deal with while they were apart. These things stood out to me and helped these characters pop and the book stand out.
I would love to know more about Noah and Senator Hall, and I'm hoping for more!

JM Madden has written another Dogs if War book that will have you flipping the pages to find out everything you question. I couldn’t wait for Wulfes book and what a book we got.

Wulfe Terberger is a product of the Spartan drug that Silverstone Collaborative. He got a away from all the testing with Fontana and Aiden Willingham. He now is wanting to take down Damon Wilkes.

Elizabeth Wilkes had no clue just how horrible her husband was. After finding out about his secret work she became Wulfes inside source. And then Damon did the unimaginable and took her son. She needed Wulfe the most and he was there for her.

We follow these two as find her son and try and take Damon Wilkes down. And what a ride we take.

You will be hooked from the first page until the very last.

Highly recommended.

5 heart pounding Stars

Wulfe’s story is finally here and it is full of suspense, subterfuge and just the right amount of love (both between our heroine and hero as well as love from the eyes of a child). I love finding out so many of the answers to questions regarding Damon and his evil plans. Finding out Elizabeth and Wulfe’s history and it all comes together to lead to a HEA for them both is riddled with suspense, intensity and action. On top of being another fantastic military/suspense novel from Ms. Madden, I loved the addition of Elizabeth’s amazing son and his love and connection with both a dog and his bodyguard. You do not want to miss this installment of Dogs of War!!!

I have to say this book had my attention from beginning to end. This entire series has blown me away. I absolutely love the LNF books, but wasn't sure about the premise for these. Definitely read the prequel and first 2 books of this series before reading Retribution as the story is a continuation of the others, and so you know the characters. This book focused on Wulfe and Elizabeth. Unlike the rest of the series, we get more POV from the heroine. It worked very well since Elizabeth ended up being very central to the plot of the entire series and we get a lot of information on how things came to be. I loved the book, and apologize if my words seem vague, but I don't want to spoil anything. I would definitely recommend Retribution, and I can't wait for the next book!

This one is hard for me to review as I feel like I'd give a lot away.

This is Wulfe's story and we find out who his informant is. Her name is Elizabeth. Her son gets kidnaped and she goes to Miami to bring him home. She is married to a very evil man who had a lot to do with the Spartan project.

Let's just say that there was one thing I was upset about and there was a lot that made me happy in this book.

We were introduced to Noah and boy did I love him in this book and am anxious to get to know him more and have his character developed.

There are so many ways this series can go and Madden cannot write them fast enough for me because I definitely want more.

The best part was the ending when the LNF crew was brought in.

Thrilling conclusion to the Dogs of War and their retribution for the horrific crimes committed against them. To follow the story and understand what Spartan is or who Damon Wilkes was in the collaboration you must read the previous books. Each book involves a different member of DoW and a different path but the stories are continuous and rely on the outcome of the others. While the others were very action driven, this is intriguing on a different scale and has a second chance romance. I received an early copy, review written voluntarily. Hopefully this isn't the end of the series, these guys could do plenty.

This series has kept me coming back for each book and this book was not a disappointment! I loved the story of Wulfe and Elizabeth! Tons of action and lots of bad guys as the Dogs of War finally go after the company that ran these torture camp in order to make super soldiers. Elizabeth owned the company and had no idea what had been happening and worked as an informer for Wulfe. As the two work to get her son back and take down the bad guys they both had great chemistry and lots of emotions. I also loved Blake and his bodyguard Noah. These characters are so well developed that they pulled me into the story all they way to the end. Loved it!!

Retribution

WOW! What a wonderful story. This is about Wulfe and Elizabeth. Wulfe is out to destroy Elizabeth's company or her husband. He was hoping Elizabeth wasn't involved in what her husband had done. He finds out that she knew nothing what her husband did. Elizabeth did hide one secret - her son was actually Wulfe's son. Once her husband was out of the picture, things moved pretty fast. We get to see the crew from the Lost and Found Investigation at Wulfe and Elizabeth's wedding. I am happy that these two found their way back to each other and found their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job J.M.! I would recommend this book and can't wait for the next book.

OMG!! I absolutely loved this book. As I have come to expect from JM Madden, the book was about more than the romance happening between the main characters. She takes the time to develop the characters and strikes the right balance between plot, subplot, and romance.

Wulfe is super Alpha without being over the top. Elizabeth is certainly no damsel in distress and is the perfect match for Wulfe. Add in Elizabeth's greedy soon to be ex, a crooked Senator, corrupt government officials, a tween, an enhanced body guard, and you've got a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

We are back with the Dogs of War saving the individuals that were torture with the intention of experimentation . An experimental operation run by the evil Damon Wiles.
When Damon disappears , kidnapping his own son, the boy’s mother, Elizabeth Wilkes is ready for retribution. She seeks the help of Wulfe, someone she has a history with.
Non-stop action , with complex imperfect characters that will keep you on your toes from the first page to the last one.
Another winner for this talented author.

I was more than ready for this next puzzle piece in the Dogs of War series. Wulfe with his complex character and Elizabeth letting her character come on strong. Noah, Blake & Seben were great secondary characters that added a lot to this story. I love the storylines and how this series just keeps building. Also this book provides so much new information where there could be many more character stories and unlimited direction. So excited to see what’s next!

This was an awesome ending 3 main characters’ story . I could not put Retribution down. JM Madden writes the perfect combination of suspense , romance, and lovable snarky characters. I have enjoyed how each character gets his own story, yet the other characters are still involved. Elizabeth and Wolfe have a terrific story. There is a surprise, and the happily ever after was a great one. I can’t wait to see what is next for this series.
