Summer in the English countryside is exactly the break Evie thinks she needs to reconnect with her kids. No bots. No deaths. No helicopter flights. Just a simple vacation and peaceful scenery. What more could a cold-blooded assassin ask for? Unfortunately, it doesn't last and the team requires a certain arms dealer’s help. Leaving the kids in her mother’s capable hands, she goes to him, eager to see him. What she finds isn’t exactly what she had hoped for. It never is with him. Desperate for the lies and treachery to stop, she ends the relationship she isn’t even having and goes back home. Only S isn’t done with her. He never will be. But none of that matters. The end of the mission nears and puts the real world on hold while the spy world falls apart. As everything heats up, Evie realizes the end of this war means the end of love for her. And sometimes a girl’s gotta do, what a girl’s gotta do. Even if it means sacrificing herself to protect the ones she loves.

Everything about this series had me at book one. This last was worth the wait and the best of the bunch. Hilarious, serious spy awesomeness with enough steam and heart to break your soul. Probably will read this series again just to relive the adventure.
This series must be read in order. The first book is "The End Of Me". The second book is "The End Of Games". The third book is "The End Of Tomorrow". This is the fourth and final book.
The team knows what they have to do. To keep the world safe... To give them back their lives. It is crazy and impossible. They need to end The Burrow and The Organization. A One World Order cannot be allowed to happen. Can they do it? Will they be able to live with themselves after? Can Evie keep her family safe long enough to accomplish this?
I knew he wasn’t dead. He wasn’t the type I feel bad for him but I understand his view they were toxic together and she would walked away with him if he asked. She loved him to deep as coop loved her. So he knew she wouldn’t be alone but it hurt him seeing her happy. Even though he was a total jerk he won me over because he put her happiness above his
This is one of my favorite series by Tara Brown and she did not disappoint. I am sadden to leave behind Evie but the ending felt right. Well done Ms Brown, well done.
Tara takes you on a emotional roller coaster ride in this last book. I'm sad Evies story is over but it was done perfectly. This was a phenomenal last book. It's a definite must read series.
I was a little conflicted over my rating for several reasons:
1) It had a been a couple of years since I finished book 3 and when book 4 came out. When it did finally come out, I had a vague feeling that I wanted to read it, but I couldn't remember most of the characters or past events. For that reason, it took me another few years to finally break down and read it (I know, adding even more distance from the content wasn't the best idea).
2) That being said, I was still really entertained. This was one of those books that you don't want to put down because of all of the action.
3) Despite all of that action, Evie never missed a moment to complain about her complicated relationships/feelings for Servario and Coop. It kept pulling me from the story because I was so confused how this was constantly the main point of conversation when they were trying to take down major bad guys with risky plans.
4) Evie kept saying she needed to be a good mom and make decisions for her kids, but she wasn't actually doing that. Thank you, Coop, for point that out to her!
5) The passion between Evie and Servario, as well as between Evie and Coop, was palpable. Even though I didn't remember much of either of their relationships, I was still really invested, which is impressive writing on the author's part.
6)
7) Minor thing, but
Ultimately, my love of action won out when it came to the rating, though Evie's self-absorption almost tanked it.
I thought this was the last in the series, but am now seeing there's a 5th (and final?) book that's supposed to come out. Why does this always happen to me? I never seem to find complete series.
Wow! “In all the best and worst ways, nothing would be the same again.” We have watched Evie go from a devastated lowly housewife to a kick-butt ninja spy taking out bad people, like most of us take out the trash. Along the way we have watch relationships grow and become more, witnessed devastation, felt loss, watched love boom, voyeured hot sex and been entertained with many a snarky comment. Each book took us on a world journey and the characters all became a family of sorts. Coop and Sevario played a major starring role with tempering by Helena and Fritz. Jules and Mitch was everyone’s priority. Luce and Jack became the trusted siblings and sounding board. At the top of the pyramid is Evie and her own brand of crazy; in love with both Coop and S she waffles between them and with each book I found myself rooting for one or the other. In this final entry, Tara Brown has basically wrapped everything up with a bow, but there was a lot of mess to get there. Reading this book was bittersweet knowing it was the last but also gratifying to see how much the writing and the characters grew and changed. The Epilogue was gasp inducing and I feel a major book hangover coming on. Bravo!!!
It was a very exciting series . I enjoyed it except the end .. I believe the choice of choosing between Coop and Gustavo was taken from her and that just felt like a form of trafficking to me.. Weird since the author clearly despised trafficking in the book. I'm Evie's age and a single mom coincidental but unfortunately not a spy 😬so I kind of understood some of her dilemma with making decisions with her kids . When she mentioned about the bots and biological warfare couldn't help but link it with the covid pandemic that hit the world since 2020... Creepy .. I just wished that Evie was given a choice in choosing her life path at the end.. Death is always uncertain .. a life lived fully is better than a half lived long life .
It was perfect. I hated it and loved it. I cried and laughed. I fell in love with Coop and Gustavo all over again and felt everything Evie (and Cooper and Gustavo too) felt to the depths of my soul. I don't think I'll ever get over this series. ❤ you Tara Brown!
Again, this author amazes me in her story telling skills. You feel the character's anger and heartbreak. If you haven't started this series, it's about Evie, a kick ass operative that is also a mom. Her and her team are out to save the world by any means. But when the threat is against the ones she loves..look out!
***Tears rolled down my cheeks as I realized I had broken him long before he ever broke me. I had done this. When I realized he wasn't coming out, I got up and forced myself into the elevator. The walk of shame was unpleasant for anyone. Adding not only the wrong clothes but also bruises and cuts was something else. I looked like a sex assault victim, but I wasn't. I wasn't the victim of this story. I was the villain.
OMGosh! Tara always ends her series with a bang, and this was definitely going out with a major bang! As sad as I am to see this series end, this was an epic ending!?
Once you get over the “WTF did you do Tara!?” Portions of the book, you’ll love the ending!. Lol! Seriously, I was screaming at my kindle.
Evie is still one bad@ss spy and she would do anything to protect her kids. And Coop and Servario? How dare Tara make me fall in love with both of them?? Even the “bad boy” Servario steals a piece of my heart, always has.
If you’ve read the first three books, you really don’t want to miss this epic conclusion!! If you haven’t read this series, what are you waiting for? Read them. They are amazing!
This book was a real emotional roller coaster - I have loved every part of this series but am so devastated with the outcome - my heart is aching I am so sad. Goodreads is showing another book in the series though?
The End of Lies is the last book in The Single Lady Spy Series and it is the best of all 4 books. Tara Brown wraps everything up nicely and doesn’t leave any loose ends. If you haven’t read this series then I definitely recommend all 4 of these books.
I was memorized for this whole series that had me up until late hours reading and wished at the end it could go on forever. But so happy and sad for the end !
What an amazing series ...I was laughing and crying but definitely I wasn't ready to be end... one of my favourite series!!!! I wish there was some more ....😪
I was so not prepared for this series to end. I have grown to respect the hell outta Evie. Even when life knocks her down, she gets right back up. I cried at the end and that’s not something I do a lot, but I loved every character in the books, except James and may he NEVER RIP. Thank you Tara Brown for such wonderful books.
