Alejandro Rodríguez Álvarez, known as Alejandro Casona was a Spanish poet and playwright born in Besullo, Spain, a member of the Generation of '27. Casona received his bachelor's degree in Gijon and later studied at the University of Murcia. After Franco's rise in 1936, he was forced, like many Spanish intellectuals, to leave Spain. He lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina until April 1962, when he definitively returned to Spain.

ENGLISH: This is the second/third time I have watched this play, in the Estudio-1 archive and You Tube. I didn't remember anything, for I saw it first over 40 years ago. The performance is excellent, but I don't like the plot too much. Casona's obsession with suicide is clear here too.

The intimate friend of three married couples is supposed to be dead in an airplane accident.

This book was soooo much fun to read and such a beautifully subtle portrayal of a strong woman.
