But when Griorgi makes a move that no one expects, throwing River, Shade, and Coal’s lives into question, the clock runs out. Lera and Tye have no choice but to fight their battles within—or risk losing Lunos and their quint forever.

A 4.5 star series.

I enjoyed this series, it was pretty enjoyable as an RH series, although i will admit this last book got on my nerves just a bit with the constant mention of Lera's "damp underthings", i mean my gosh the girl was leaking faucet in the middle of war times. Although, i will admit, i myself have never been in the middle of a war so maybe it is a turn on, i don't know.

I was glad that Alex Lidell didn't drag this series out, even though there will be a spin off of this series.

I would recommend this to all RH lovers out there.

Mini-Review:

End of the Power of Five Series

The thing that really appealed to me about the series were the characters and world. The sex scenes were a mix of sweet and awkwardly executed ideas. I have nothing against a story that has a lot of sex but that wasn't what I was expecting in this book. The author tried to pack a lot of important pieces together into a short novel. It doesn't help that a good chunk of the book were badly timed sex scenes.

That's too bad. I was fairly excited to read this book and it turned out to be a bummer piece.

UPDATE
Dnf at 52%. I initially enjoyed this book, just as I have enjoyed every other book in this series. I was loving the characters, and they were making me laugh. And then I started to notice a blatant lack of consent in the majority of Lera’s actions with the guys. If that issue existed in the previous books, I didn’t notice it, but it really bothered me here.

Even in nonsexual situations, the guys made it clear that they were going to do whatever they wanted, regardless of whether Lera was ok with it:
• “‘Don’t bother answering,’ River says, pulling me closer against his side, his heat and strength cocooning me. ‘I’m holding you whether you let me or not.’”
• “‘Let me go.’ Lera enunciated each word. Tye turned her around, capturing her fury-filled gaze. ‘No.’”
• “Ignoring sounds of protest from both Sprite and me, River settles.”
Those are just the scenes I bothered highlighting. There was also a scene when Tye’s tiger drags Lera off to a cave to mate. Yeah, he was in his instinct-driven animal form at the time, and yeah, the situation stopped before it went too far, but this scene really seemed to reflect the overall theme of no consent in this book, and the lack of consent extended to sexual situations as well. One of the guys says, “Aye, well, I was planning on taking your shirt off either way” and then proceeds to take her shirt off “without waiting for a response.” Furthermore, Lera seems to dislike anal sex, which is obvious because she always tells the guys to stop whenever the try to do it. They always ignore her though: “I freeze, recognizing the sensation. My body writhes in rebellion, stopping at once when Tye’s sparks nip the most sensitive, swollen part of my apex in penalty. The instant I still, the finger at my bottom slides in.” Some people might try to say that she actually does like it and is just afraid of it, but that’s not really the point. The point is that the guy knew she didn’t want him to put his finger there, and he did it anyway. I am SICK of authors writing smut scenes with a blatant lack of consent and then romanticizing that lack of consent by saying that the sexual partner apparently knows what the character likes better than she does. I’m tired of authors making characters like what people do to them without their permission just so that authors can try to excuse the lack of consent. It’s a particular issue in this book because this series beats us over the head with the fact that Lera is exponentially weaker than every man in her life, so there’s already a power imbalance here, and Lera couldn’t get away from the guys even if she did feel threatened enough to try. Since the guys are so aware of that power imbalance, it really bothers me that they are willing to push her around as much as they do.

That said, the worst scene of all, the last straw for me, was when Lera decided to turn the tables and take away Coal’s choices. Coal believes he made a few mistakes that led to Lera being hurt, so he becomes unwilling to touch her. Lera apparently decides that her right to be touched by him trumps his right to tell her no. Remember, Coal has PTSD from a past imprisonment and often has horrible nightmares about being restrained.
• “‘I don’t intend to give your body a choice in the matter,’ I snap into his face, my pulse racing. Lifting up the lead rope I hold in my hand, I let the thick restraint dangle in the space between us.”
• “Since you are of the opinion that denying a body what it wants for some higher moral purpose is a good idea, then let’s go with it. Except I think I prefer that we deny the choice to your body, not mine.”
• “Coal’s face pales. ‘You want to restrain me.’ ‘Yes. And yes, it will scare the stars out of you. Out of me too. But I’m asking you to trust me, and I don’t know whether I’m pushing you more than you can bear.’”
• “And we make mistakes if we have to. And it might not happen in one night. Or one week. Or one tumble in the sheets.”
• “You fear losing control so I’m removing that option until you are ready to risk it.”
• “‘You might actually enjoy what I have in mind.’ ‘I highly doubt it,’ Coal mutters, a note of surrender in his voice.”
Omfg. She repeatedly admits that she wants to take away his choices about what he is willing to do with his own body. She knows damn well that being restrained is a huge trigger for him, and she admits that she is willing to risk that damage to his psyche just so that she can have sex with him, despite the fact that she has three other guys she could be having sex with. She talks about how she’s willing to repeat this action as often as it takes for him to “get over himself,” treating his body like a science experiment. This is all downright horrifying, so to make it ok, the author would have needed to make Coal agree to it. Plus, Coal is much stronger than she is, so he would definitely need to play along. However, his agreement would be totally and completely OOC. There is no way that someone as traumatized as he is would agree to experience something that triggers him just so that someone else can make him do something that he doesn’t want to do. This was going to be the worst kind of violation, and the author was going to try to rationalize it and excuse it to make it palatable. I just couldn’t stand to read what was coming, so I stopped there.

The writing itself was fine for the most part. I saw some typos and a missing word, but I couldn’t even enjoy how well written it was because so much of the content was extremely upsetting.

PROGRESS UPDATES
52% I am absolutely furious with this book right now. Wtf is this

52% Seriously, after loving the rest of this series, I need to stop this book here. Nothing about what will happen next will be ok, and I hate that the author is going to try to rationalize it.

Here are my review (I only reviewed book 3) and ratings of the previous books in the series:
Power of Five ★★★★★
Mistake of Magic ★★★★
Trial of Three ★★★★

ORIGINAL POST
Dnf at 52% because the lack of consent is astounding in this book, and Lera admits to being fully willing to inflict untold amounts of damage on Coal's psyche because her desire to have sex with him trumps his right to tell her no. Wtf is this shit?! Full review to come.

Lera and her quint have to face the final challenge to be released from the Citadel, only to rush off to try to defeat River's father and claim the throne. Lera doesn't quite have a handle on her weaver powers and things don't go according to plan.

I was actually a little disappointed in this installment in the series. I thought parts of the ending were brilliant - However, the smut was not as good as previous books. It was like getting the diet version. I just expected more. There. Smut factor was a 2 out of 5.

Still a good book. Still enjoyed the series and I like the author. I would still read more of her books in the future.

OMG, I finally got it! I GOT THEM ALL TOGETHER GUYS!

Lera of Lunos was definitely bittersweet. Lera and the guys are just so dang cute. The chemistry between them was amazing. The entire time, I was waiting for her and Tye to get together because she never created the actual bond with him yet. It took some time though, but once it happened - it was magical!

Now of course these five have some battling to do. Whether it's against other quinto's or with the evil king, there was so much drama. I honestly had no idea what was going to happen and I didn't like that one bit. I hated the feeling of biting my nails without actually doing that. I just wanted to know what was going to hit me next.

I totally get how this book isn't for some people but I was so into this since book 1 and since I've read these all pretty close to one another I was freaking out about this book. I'm mad that I missed the day that it came out but so happy that I finished it. I'm very freaking happy that they finally all got together. Together together. That ending was so freaking good and her not being a mortal anymore.. did kind of remind of the twilight series.. but I liked this a lot more.

Overall, loved it. I wish it wasn't over and I really wanted another book. I still wish for one right now.

Meh. That is the word I would use to describe the last book in the series. Not bad but not great. It felt rushed and way to easy of a solution to save the world. And they managed to do it in about 5 minutes.

I still really like most of the characters.

I've read this series to going to continue at an Academy. Picture 4 huge alpha battle hardened fae going undercover at a human academy. Um, no thanks. So this is where I'll end with this story. Was fun while it lasted.

Great ending to the series. I've really enjoyed Lera & her four fae. Things were wrapped up nicely. I would normally say I wish we had a bit more on the epilogue but the author has indicated at the end of the book that there will be a series of "episodes" that our five characters will come back to us in.

This was the best conclusion to a fantastic series! I loved this series so much. I don't want to say goodbye! Lera is amazing as I knew she would be. I would love to have a short story about her life with her men and being a full quint again. It has been a great journey and I love Alex and her work with this series. She's a great author and one that I will read from again in the future. This is one of my favorite and one that I will be revisiting regularly!

Overall: 5/5

I received an ARC of this book to review.

I didn't dislike it. I suppose I'm just disappointed at the constant theme of Lera being a damsel in distress, that puts the guys in danger. I don't really feel like there was any growth. And she feels like she just gets sillier. Like, I get she's scared of weaving, but when we're looking at certain death and the end of the world, you're a moron if you are scared of using your magic. Literally nothing you could do would make the situation worse.

Honestly, even the guys don't seem very smart - they walk into bad situations with no real plan ... and have been doing that from the beginning of the series. Just winging it might be great when you're a patrolling quint, but from their arrival at the Citadel through the climax of this book and the end of the series, they never really made functioning plans, and even their half-baked plans always failed utterly. *sigh*

The ending was a bit wish-fullfill-ish, but I'm okay with that. What I'm not okay with is still knowing nothing about Lera. We're done with a 4 book series, and we still don't know anything about the threads of her past that we got in the first book. Who is she? Why can't she remember anything of her childhood? In book 1 she said she didn't remember anything before being bought by Zake. The implication, when you drop a thread like that, is that the info is important and will be revealed. But no, it isn't. *sigh*

This is the final count down! One wrong move could end it all. Love is as much a weapon as it is a hinderance.
This has been a wild ride I’m so sad to see it end. I’m glad they are little stories coming out after this though.
I not going to give the end away but boy I didn’t see that coming!

The series was definitely worth 5 stars but I gave 4 to the last book because two things annoyed me.
First of all, I think Tye's story arc was left unfinished. I needed a better closure regarding his mother and sister. Has he explained his actions? Was he understood and forgiven?
Secondly, why a RH story must include group sex??? I was so happy about previous books when Lera had individual experiences (excluding that one time) with each of the guys but no, the last scene has to be with them all... There must have been better ways to end this!

My go-to Reverse Harem recommendation is now a complete quartet of books.

Can't wait for the spin-off!

The conclusion of Power of Five! (You must read the preceding three books first). So, I love this series - it takes me back to my beloved YA fantasy novels from junior high but blends in some adult romance scenes (more as the series went on) that are steamy in a unique way. Some of the wording has an old-fashioned feel to it that increases the charm of the Fae world. The mythology isn't heavy, which contributes to the entire series being a light and breezy read. I would always take more detail, and just more, in general, of stories I enjoy this much, but I think these books as they are works very well. I love every single one of the characters, with it being no secret that cold, tortured hero Coal has the slight edge in my heart. This final book gives us Tye's backstory (finally!) and an appropriate final battle, etc. Though this is the conclusion of this series, I'm super happy that the author has a letter in the back saying she will revisit these characters in a novella format later this year, telling new stories, because I wasn't ready for it to be over either. Each individual book in this series is somewhere between a 4 and 5 in terms of rating for me, and I'm going to round up based on the cumulative effect of enjoying this series as much as I did.

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

I enjoyed the first three books in this series and was curious to see how the last book would wrap things up. Lera of Lunos is a great ending to the series. At the end of book 3 they uncover a plot they have to stop and this book will deal with that. They still have their last trial to finish and Tye seems to be a bit off recently. Lera is still struggling with her weaver powers. So there's enough going on.

I have to admit I am not a big fan of the whole citadel plot line and I was glad when they finally finished their last trial and left the place. I felt the citadel restricted their movements and I was happy when they were out and about in Lunos again and we could see more of the world. While I appreciate the fast pace of the story and how things don't get dragged out, it felt a bit rushed in certain points. I liked that the battle at the end didn't get too drawn out during or before by showing their suffering, but at the same time it was over so quickly. I kinda liked the emotional part after that, but there was also a part that I didn't really care for.

The ending is still a bit open, but wraps up the most important issues for now. I wouldn't have minded a bit more of an epilogue. The part at the end is mostly a sex scene a few hints of how things will go in the future. I just would've liked to see a bit more how Lera experiences the changes and see what would be next for them and what would happen to the world now that things stabilized. I think there might be a spin-off later, so that could explain the more open ending.

I did have a few minor issues with things happening in the story that sort of added up over the course of the series. And I noticed I wasn't quite with my head at the story. I have been having some troubles finding the right books to read for my reading mood. So that diminished my enjoyment of the book a bit and made me notice the small issues I had more.

In this book we finally get to see Lera and Tye bond a bit more. I like how Tye's character changed over the course of the series and how it becomes clear there is more depth to his character that seems at first. In this book we get to see a bit more about his past and tiger and see him finally get closer to Lera too. I like how the romances with the different males develop at a different pace in this series. And each male has a different personality.

It did bother me a bit how Coal got distanced a bit again after I thought they resolved that, but I am glad they got past it again. They just rarely communicate at all and it causes trouble at times. It also bothers me a bit that they never talk about things as a group. It seems everyone is okay with them all being in love with Lera, but I really would've liked to see some conversation about this. As now it just seemed to be a non issue and from what we know of the world that's not the norm and all the males are pretty possessive. I just wished they had mentioned this or discussed it shortly. And while there is more than enough steamy scenes in this series, I would've liked a bit more of the sweet, normal and touching scenes. But that probably has to do with my current reading mood.

While the series has a solid plot, the focus still remains on the romance. There are at least 4 sex scenes in the book and quite some focus on the romantic relationships. I liked seeing Lera bond with Tye now as well, so now she has coupled with all four of them. But I would've liked to see more of them function as a unit now that they resolved these things between them. It still is mostly Lera with one of the males working things through or connecting.

The sex scenes didn't fully work for me, while the author did a nice job varying things up a bit, there are parts that seem the same no matter which male she is with, like the possessiveness. And parts that were a bit unrealistic and weird descriptions which just got me out of the scene. And the sex scene at the end seemed to come a bit out of the blue. It also bothers me that there is something Lera says no about, even tough she seemed mostly okay with it, it still bothered me that they didn't stop and communicated if she wants that. They just went ahead with it anyway.

I mostly like what we've seen of the world of Lunos and the Gloom and Mors, but now at the end of the series it still feels there is so much we don't know. They visit Blaze toward the end of the book, which makes me realize how little we've seen of the world and the different courts. There is some new magic that pops up that we never heard about. And certain world building rules that seem to have come out of nowhere. It's not like it was ever stated this wasn't true, but as it never got mentioned before, it felt a bit inconsistent anyway how they got suddenly brought up now. I also still have trouble remembering these are hundreds of years old Fae warriors as so many of them still act like teenager or adults, but not old immortals.

To summarize: Lera of Lunos is a solid and fun end to this series. It leaves thins open enough for more books, but wraps up some main things. I liked part of the end, but I also would've liked to see a bit of an epilogue and what the future holds for the quint. The plot moves quite fast paced, which works well, although it did feel a bit rushed in some parts. I liked getting to see Tye share his story with Lera and connect with her. Although I had some issues with the sex scenes being a bit similar and a bit unrealistic at times, which got me out of the scenes. I also wish they had discussed the polyamory situation, they all seem okay with it, but it never quite gets stated or discussed which just felt off to me. There are some world building rules that seem to come out of nowhere, even tough they don't contradict anything we learned before it still felt a bit off how some things about the magic and Fae only got brought up here in the last book. I also feel like there is still so much of the world we haven't seen yet. All in all this is a solidreverse harem fantasy series that I enjoyed although I had some issues that kinda heaped up at the end.

I think this book is a bit of "it's not you it's me" in my rating.

There was just too much that got on my nerves to make it any higher than three stars.

About half of it was sex, which is fine, apart from I sort of wanted a bit more of a developed plot.

My biggest issue is Lera and the dynamic between her and the quint. She STILL spends the whole book being the liability and out of control. How about seeing her master her powers and kick some ass??? It's not like we haven't been watching her struggle for books now? When she finally does something cool it's by last minute accident/desperate hope, not design. I know that Lera has never been your typical kick ass female MC, but I guess I was hoping she would be by the end.

There are also so many phrases that I found annoying that were repeated a lot. Like damp underthings... Seriously not sexy and I got bored of reading about it. That girl must have to travel around with a suitcase of clean underwear.

I would still recommend this series to RH fans and lots of people have enjoyed it massively, so as I said at the start, I think it just didn't really work out for me, although I did like the ending.

Omg. Talk about a climatic ending. Lmfao. I'm dying here. So I'm going to go move on to the next part of the series. But wow. The only thing I have to ask, they made mention at the end of the book as well as in the middle of the book a scene between coal and lera. In the stables where she ties him up, he says at one point we will deal with your demons later. What demons? Or was it monsters? Either way. No one ever touched base on those again except when Cole mentioned being tied up. But he doesn't mention what demons? Anyway I would love to know what that was about.

The ending of this book was so hot. I have a question on her lineage though. She made mention of a mother, or the question of a mother. Do the future books ever touch base on her lineage? Because it would be interesting to know what exactly brought her to her master. And if there may have been some form of mixing in her bloodline. It's possible it's been done in other books. Where a changeling, or a kidnapped fairy, or half fairy was raised by humans. And mistaken as mortal because they've been around mortals all their lives. So I'd be interested in knowing a little bit more about lera herself.

I absolutely loved the first part of this series. I don't know where the bad reviews are coming from, but I absolutely loved it. Sure there were a few things that didn't make sense, but this is fantasy. It's not supposed to make 100% sense. I love the progression of their relationships, sure I wanted to beat the hell out of some of the males sometimes, but all in all it was good progression. And I can't wait to see what comes next.

I have been recommending this series to everyone. Anyone on my social media that will listen, I have sent this series too. And I really hope that more people will read it.

I think a lot of people have been looking at this book and not realizing that it is a reverse harem, AKA overly sexual. So when they read it they're expecting something for the young adult. And it's not for young adults. I would say at least 18 plus. Or if you're emancipated then 16 plus. Lol. Hey if they are old enough to be emancipated, they're old enough to read a little smut.

Alex, you did a kick-ass job with this series, and I hope the rest of it is just as good.

This one bored me quite a bit. The pacing was incredibly choppy and bearing in mind that the past three books have been heavily focused on character development (I mean who actually cared about the whole Mors business?) this one sticks out like a sore thumb.

We finally got to see some Tye, but none of the other three during the central part of the book, which for me was kind of dull because the centre of attention suddenly changed to the secondary plotline and even that felt kind of rushed, jumping from one scene to the other in a kind of lazy way. It almost felt like a comical show, with characters appearing and disappearing like this:

“Xane told me what he did to Tye. He is—”
“A manipulative, cowardly, highborn bastard who little hesitates to step on anyone of convenience,” I finish for Autumn.
“Quite a concise description.” Dressed in a well-cut white shirt and billowing blue trousers, Xane bows to me as he approaches, the small crown atop his pale hair catching the evening light. “Pardon the interruption. I just wished to thank Leralynn for what she did for Blaze and Lunos.”
I stare at Xane, saying nothing.
The prince nods his acceptance. “I’ll be out of your way.”

I mean, they were casually mentioning him, he appears, says hi and goes away. This happened with all the new characters that were introduced and with some of the old acquaintances, and it bothered me. A lot.

Also, that final scene... it didn't work for me.

In this action packed finale, Lera and her quint must race to stop the king of slait and his Mors forces before all of Lunos becomes enslaved. They must stop him, but it comes at a deadly cost.

Definitely my favorite of the series. Lera and her males relationship is as strong as ever, there's some angst when River gets taken, we finally get to learn about Tye's past, and Lera is finally standing up and taking action herself.

The moss bit was brilliant, and the whole scene was so emotional and the best. How the king was actually defeated was a little lack luster though. I'm not actually sure if he's dead or not, cause it doesn't seem like it could've actually killed him. Oh well. I loved this series and devoured it in two days. Way to go Lidell!

Lera of Lunos is a satisfying and emotional finale that ties the series together with heart, fire, and fierce loyalty. Lera truly comes into her own: confident in her power, her place, and her love for each of her bonded mates. The action hits fast, and while the battles are intense, it’s the quiet moments between characters that left the biggest impact. Tye’s past is finally unearthed, and it’s devastating but beautifully handled. The theme of unity (five pieces forming one unstoppable whole) comes full circle here. The ending is triumphant and tender, delivering closure without losing the spark that made the journey unforgettable.

Finally finished this series and while I'm not as big of a fan of the end of the series as I am the beginning of it, I still really enjoyed it. It didn't feel like there were stale parts or fillers. I liked the action bits, I liked the guys, and I liked how strong Lera became.
I really like the guys here, but feel like Shade didn't get much time??? and I do wish the relationships built up a bit more and had weight. I feel like she didn't realize until the end what was going on even though titles and labels had been thrown around.
