Well.... I liked the demon world and the taxi lady named Dorrie. I can't wait to finish this whole series since I'm really struggling with them. Xoe it's just so annoying that I can't stand her. Also what the hell end up happening with Dorrie????. This story like the others it's just bland.

Of all of the Xoe Meyers books, "Demon Dawn" is my least favorite. It's only 158 pages and it felt as though I was reading a really long chapter versus reading a full fledged novel.
Xoe has been whisked away to the demon realm and out of the reach of Bart, or so they think. She and her father begin investing a way to fulfill their contract with Bart. Unfortunately, Bart is not about to be undone and does what he does best and secures the assistance of another demon who ups the ante in their negotiations. The life of someone she loves will be placed in danger and Xoe will have to go to extreme lengths to find a way to resolve the issue. This is where Ms. Roethle shows her creative side and creates a few memorable moments.
This time the life of everyone who matters to Xoe is at risk including her mother and some may not be able to handle the pressure. Additionally, Jason is becoming suspicious of Chase's feelings for Xoe and she is not about to admit her feelings for him.
Here's the thing, I felt robbed with this book. It is only 158 pages that barely addresses any pertinent issues. There is no reason for the author to totally overlook providing us with insight into Alexondre's current relationship/situation with Xoe's mother. It is left unresolved as if it isn't important and the sad part is it could has been handled in less than 20 pages and would have added a little more substance to the plot. Additionally, background information about Xoe's grandmother needed to be addressed as well. However, here's the thing, in book one I stated my opinion that Ms. Roethle's world building was weak and it has continued to be an area of weakness in subsequent books. I will confess that I am suspicious of reading any more series by this author due to the brevity within the books, the weak world building and the editing errors. We'll see!

The fourth book in the Xoe series finds Xoe in trouble once again! This is teen angst times 100! Xoe now finds herself dealing with a bad demon who wants to wreck chaos on the earth realm. We find her developing more of a relationship with her father. We meet new characters - Xoe's grandmother, Josie and Dorrie which are woven in nicely and add depth to several characters. This is a great series and I can't wait for more books. I never want this series to end!!!

Book 4! Best story yet
Ms. Roethle's Xoe Meyers' series gets better and better...the love triangle between Xoe, Chase and Jason pulls at your heart strings as Xoe struggles with who she truly loves...and sadness of her mom pulling away from Xoe. But Xoe is strong and won't let this keep her down. I'm excited for book 5...

DNF at 10% Didn't read book 3 b/c even though 1,2, and 4 are available on KU, book3 is not. So I skipped it. This book opens with talk of Xoe and her dad, then also her mom, then also Allison going "underground" to the demon reality to stay safe from Bart and random half-demons who also want their masters to walk aboveground. I just can't muster any feelings for these characters. I felt like previous books were shallow, and this novel jumps right into a situation where readers must suspend MAJOR disbelief to even get to the crux of the novel. I can't do it.

This one was a great addition to the series. Some of the reactions and behaviour of a couple of the characters - in particular the main character's Mother - doesn't sit well with me, because it doesn't feel right for either the situation or their character. But, other than that, this was a great read.

This was a bit of a pleasant surprise after the last installment in the series. Xoe makes a deal with Bart, demon extraordinaire, to create a portal between the demon realm and the human realm. There ends up being more at stake than just her word, though.
I actually felt like I had something invested in the characters this time, and we got to meet a new friend, Dorrie, who was delightful.

Highly recommend
Enjoyable easy read. Good pace throughout., definitely recommend. Likeable characters and a novel story line but with enough flaws to make them real.

Great story to get lost in
I have really enjoyed the story and have found the characters relateable and easy to be a part of their world. I love when I find a book that I can get lost in and this series does just that.

Had this book in mt 'To Read' list for ages and didn't know what I was missing.
Another great installment. It was nice watching the characters, particularly the lead, grow.
Awesome characters and relationship, wonderful story telling and a wonderfully knew take on the whole thing. I was impressed and engaged and, naturally, ended up on a Xoe Marathon read. Of course, all good things must come to an end, and I think there are only 4 books.

Good continuation
The 4th book picks up right where the third book leaves you. Not to spoil it but heading into the demon world is the least of Xoe's problem. As usual quick fun read.
