Rate this book
Fans of Vampirina and the Princess in Black series will love Isadora half-fairy, half-vampire, totally unique--and totally unafraid to be different!Isadora is the only half-fairy, half-vampire in her human school. She knows what it's like to be different. But that's okay because everyone at her school is a little different from everyone else! When Isadora's classmates are frightened by a field trip to a spooky old castle (what if they see a ghost?!), it's up to Isadora to remind them that things that are different aren't necessarily scary.

I adore these Isadora Moon books! They are so charming and fun. The illustrations are full of the most darling details that always make me smile. The stories are well-written, the characters all feel well-drawn. I've read the series out-of-order but hope to get to the rest of them in the next few weeks as they are perfect for someone like me who loves a bit of Halloween fun without the scary-factor. (The books are not centered around Halloween and could be read any time of year, but since Isadora's father is a vampire and they live in a castle, etc. there are definitely some elements that fit well for this season.)
ISADORA MOON GOES ON A FIELD TRIP
Super-cute with just a hint of spook. When Isadora’s class goes on a field trip to a castle, her vampire father hopes that it will be haunted. Her human classmates are freaked out by this idea and, when there really IS a ghost in the castle, they are terrified and run away. Isadora’s father is sympathetic to the ghost, who is really just very sad and lonely, and with Isadora’s help, they devise a way for the ghost to interact with the children without scaring them. The message of not judging someone by appearances or tales, but taking them as an individual, is important.

Such a sweet, fun story! I adored Isadora and her dad, and .
At it's heart, I think the message of the book is to learn to know someone before you judge them, but the message is delivered so sweetly, and woven into the story so well, that it doesn't feel didactic.

The illustrations are ADORABLE! And I just wanted to soak up the lines and colors on each page. Truly a wonderful little book!

A special thanks to my nephew for gifting this to my on my birthday! I'd been so curious about the story of the vampires, fairies, and ghost that he kept talking about that I was delighted and honored to get the book! And it did not disappoint :D

ETA: The chapters are well laid out so that each chapter feels fulfilling, but also ends so that you want to turn to next chapter to see what happens next :)

Isadora Moon and her classmates go on a school trip to a castle. Isadora's father immediately offers his services, he loves helping out and maybe the castle will have ghosts. Isadora and her father love ghosts, but do Isadora's classmates like them as well? What will the school trip be like, is it going to be filled with fun, laughter and games or are there going to be spooks that will scare everyone else?

Isadora Moon Goes on a School Trip is a charming story about a half vampire half fairy girl and a haunted castle. Isadora is kindhearted and loves spending time with her classmates. She's unique, but so are they and they like each other because of who they are, which is something I absolutely loved about this story. Isadora meets a ghost at the castle, just like she hoped, but not everyone thinks ghosts are friendly and fascinating creatures. I loved how Harriet Muncaster describes the ghost, the castle itself and how much fun it is to go on a school trip there. Reading about it constantly made me smile. Another thing I loved is that Isadora Moon's father is just as endearing as his daughter, which makes the story even more enjoyable.

Harriet Muncaster's Isadora Moon stories are a combination of great writing and fabulous drawings. I absolutely love her beautiful books. They're gorgeous in looks and spirit, which makes them incredibly precious. Harriet Muncaster writes in a lovely understanding way filled with dreams, adventures and life. I fell in love with Isadora Moon Goes on a School Trip from the beginning and can't praise this terrific story enough.

Näemmä nämä matkoille sijoittuvat osat ovat parhaita. Tässä mennään retkelle linnaan, jossa saattaa kummitella, iik! Todella viihdyttävä ja tunnelmallinen pieni tarina.

A field trip, knights, ghosts, and more! A brand-new and fun Isadora Moon book!

I was actually looking for another Isadora Moon book that I wanted to read (Isadora Moon gets in trouble), but instead I found this one.

The kids, and Isadora's dad and of course the teacher, are on a new field trip. This time not ballet, no instead we are going to visit a giant castle filled with fun rooms, activities, and items. The weather also participated by making the castle seem even creepier and awesome.

I loved that there were dress up chests everywhere and that you had to find them all to unlock all the costumes. That way every kid got a chance, and that it made the whole field trip a lot more interesting and fun. I would have loved that when I was a kid. There are also archery lessons (inside????). I was a bit disappointed at their lunch, I had expected some kind of special castle feast with all sorts of yummy foods that kids love so much. But I would definitely have loved visiting the castle when I was a kid. All those hidden nooks and crannies, all those shiny and interesting things.

The ghost? I am not too sure. I did like him, for most, but for some reason I found him a bit annoying. Maybe it was that he knew (and spoiled) the locations of the costumes, or that he could do everything perfectly. I get that he has been here for hundreds of years, but it just felt a bit too much.
I did feel sorry that people ran away from him when all he wanted was to start a conversation with them. I found it a shame that the ghost was just another stereotype. I would much rather have seen it be a kid or a man. Really, if vampirefairies can exist, why can't a ghost look human?

I am not too sure how I felt about the ghost solution at the end. It is really sweet of them (though I wonder why the ghost never left on his own), but shouldn't they also have asked the mom if she was OK with their plans? After all she is a fairy, not a vampire, so maybe she doesn't want this.

I am really proud that Isadora's dad is doing his best to wake up on time. Not just because he is a vampire and loves the night, but also because of his hair. In this one he actually gets up and has his hair done! Good job dad!

Of course the book is also covered in illustrations and I just adore them. Sometimes they are a bit too sweet (with all that pink), but mostly I think it is cute.

All in all, hopefully I will be able to read that other book I wanted as I just adore the Isadora Moon series, and I would recommend this one to everyone.

Isadora Moon Goes on a School Trip is the sixth installment in Harriet Muncaster’s beloved series about a half-fairy, half-vampire girl who never quite fits neatly into one world—and learns that that’s perfectly okay. In this book, Isadora, accompanied by her very enthusiastic vampire father, joins her class on a school trip to a magical castle, where she encounters an unusual being, unexpected challenges, and opportunities to show kindness and courage. As always, the whimsical illustrations and gentle humor make the adventure sparkle.

Even though this isn’t the first book in the series (and I admittedly don’t know all of Isadora’s history), I didn’t have any trouble jumping right in. Sometimes I’ll start a light series out of order, and this was one of those delightful surprises where it didn’t matter—the story still felt complete and welcoming.

What I especially loved was how the book explores acceptance of others, even when they’re different from us. Isadora’s mixed identity helps kids see the beauty in uniqueness, and the story’s warm, inclusive message shines brightly throughout the trip. The ending in particular was wonderfully cozy and comforting—one of those soft landings that left me smiling after the last page.

Overall, this is a perfect read for young readers. It’s fun, imaginative, and gently teaches themes of friendship, kindness, and acceptance without ever feeling heavy-handed. A sweet little escape with a big heart.

A story of a little girl named Isadora who is half vampire and half fairy. She goes on a school excursion to a castle. While there she and her father work together to help Isadora’s classmate build a friendship based on actions rather than appearance.
This is a sweet book for children aged about 5-8 years old.
I have not read earlier books in the series so have not seen Isadora’s character develop. I suspect that if I had read the first books I may be more invested in the book and developed a deeper connection to the Isadora. Without that connection I think this is a three star book.

Ihana Isadora Kuu!

This is such a fun and unique series! In this one, Isadora's human class goes to a castle on a field trip. There is a ghost there and everyone is scared except for the Moons so they help the ghost dress up like a kid so he can become a friend. The kids all love him and then when its revealed hes a ghost they realize its okay. However, its time for everyone to leave and the ghost is sad and lonely so the Moons invite him to come live with them!

No matter who a series is written for, one thing a good series has is continuity, so you know that you 1. need to read it in order and it rewards you for doing so
2 you can see the changes in characters and see new characters
anyway so far this has been that way, and with the addition of a new character one can hope it continues
another fun read in the series.

I have been trying to work out how to write this without sounding like a broken record but don't judge a castle by its ghosts. Also don't judge the ghosts before you know them. That is something that everyone needs to learn. Another brilliant book in a crazy fun series. This school trip has a lesson that everyone young and old needs to learn but it does it in a fun way.

My favourite part was when Isadora met Oscar the friendly ghost. At the end Oscar was sad because Isadora and the rest that was there had to leave to go home because it was the end of the school trip, but isadora's Dad said dont feel sad u can come home with us you can stay in the attic so they all went home (Oooo Spooky)

Hah hantu?
Entahlah hehe.

Lovely story

This book was another great story about isadora moon. My daughter and I are really enjoying the stories. The only issue is that on kindle the some of the pictures are miss in and on page 71 there was nothing at all which means it missed a page of the story

Isadoran luokka menee retkelle linnamuseoon.
