Lauren meant to take her friends on a time-travel adventure, but the druid in her dagger wouldn't let her tell them.
Leif had assumed Father's duties as Laird of Cresh Manor four months ago, when the fever took both his parents. Druids had sent the fever to his town, so the people said. Druids from the mysterious Druid castle to the North. They also said Druids sent the three beautiful women who had wandered into town, but Leif didn't believe a word of that.
After a year in Luag's unsophisticated medieval time, Katherine was finally home. Hot showers! The Internet! Fast food! So why did she even listen when he begged her to help him go back and broker peace for Scotland?
This is a collection of three of Jane Stain's Dunskey Castle books all set in Inverurie at the time of the Battle of Harlaw: Leif - A Time Travel Romance Taran - A Time Travel Romance Luag - A Time Travel Romance
This is young Adult Fiction with some accuracy historically. Deirdre’s story was charming but the Druid in the dagger was menacing. Still it was interesting to read about the time of the PICT’s and Roman invasion. The living style was interesting. Kelsey from the first book became a Druid through her study at the university. She shows up in all the books as someone who can help when the women need help. Lauren, Jessica, and Katherine’s stories are interesting, although Lauren’s character is strange. She’s impulsive and that impulsivity gets all three of them in trouble. She’s taken over by the Druid in the dagger and there are strange people from the future that show up in 1410 walking around in their modern clothing. This is highly irregular and they would not survive in the Middle Ages. Jessica’s book dealt with health issues in the Middle Ages and she was a nurse from modern times. Lauren is her best friend and an engineer. Lauren tricks her friends into going on an adventure in 1400 Scotland which was initially caused by the Druid in the dagger. Lauren’s book is how she comes to realize the dagger is evil and she has to find away to free herself. Interesting enough the last book doesn’t have the dagger but is the relationship between Katherine and Luag. Katherine uses her looks and personality to sell her survival products. She’s a modern woman who likes luxury and although she enjoys some things from 1400 she misses her luxuries. Some characters disappear without storyline . It seems that the importance wasn’t there.it left wholes in the story.
Leif: A Time Travel Romance (Dunskey Castle, #7), my tenth read from author Jane Stain, an author I've wanted to read since I began acquiring her books back in 2017, I own 21 of them.
Taran: A Time Travel Romance (Dunskey Castle, #8), my eleventh read from author Jane Stain.
Luag: A Time Travel Romance (Dunskey Castle Book 9), my twelfth read from author Jane Stain. I look forward to the next book from her, Meehall: A Time Travel Romance (Dunskey Castle Book 10), but what really got me going was narrator Andrew McDermott, I love his Irish brogue. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Any of these novels by Jane Stain is just plain fun to read and keeps readers on the edge of their seats. This historic romance has it all - clever plotting, superb crafting, feisty characters, a colorful historic setting, lots of adventure and romance. I highly recommend these books.
These are three more thrilling time travel romance books by Jane Stain. I love reading about Scottish men, adore great romance stories, and relish time travel fantasy - so I find this entire series delightful!
