Have you ever read a book that kept you sane in the most difficult times and simultaneously made you even more insane than you ever thought possible? That is Passion for me.

I read someone saying that there was a lack of psychiatrists in this book, and I could not agree more. But that is exactly what makes this book so enjoyable. And so easy to get obsessed with. I spent every waking moment I had a couple of free minutes running to grab my cell phone, tablet, or opening my computer to read. And Gods, what a fun ride!

Since starting it, and now that I am still reading the sequel Diaphonic Symphonia, I have just forsaken my better judgement and decided to dedicate my life to appreciate and glorify the madness of Ilay Riegrow. And quite honestly, it feels pretty good.

ใช้เวลาอ่านนานมากแต่อ่านจนจบได้เพราะมันสนุกดี เป็นเรื่องของ จอง แทอุย กับ อิลเลย์ รีโกรว์ มาเจอกันในหน่วยงาน UNHRDO ลุงของแทอุยลากมาให้ทำงานด้วย 6 เดือน เรื่องนี้จะมีความวิทยาศาสตร์ผสมแฟนตาซีอย่างละหน่อย อย่างละหน่อยจริงๆ ไม่ได้แตะมากแต่หยิบมาใช้เป็นตัวดำเนินเรื่อง

ความจริงเรื่องเริ่มต้นจากจองแจอุย พี่ชายฝาแฝดของแท สุดยอดมนุษย์อัจฉริยะหายออกจากบ้านไป แต่แทไม่อะไรเพราะพี่ก็หายไปเป็นปกติอยู่แล้ว แต่ครั้งนี้มีคนตามหากันให้ควักรวมถึงลุงตัวเองด้วย เฉลยเลยนะว่าแจคนพี่สร้างอาวุธยุทโธปกรณ์ เป็นที่ต้องการตัวสุดๆ ของทั้งฝั่งนั้นฝั่งนี้ แทเป็นแค่เหยื่อเอาไว้ล่อถ้าเกิดตกอยู่ในอันตรายแจก็คงโผล่หางมา ทุกคนรู้หมดทั้งลุงบรรดา instructor คนอื่นรวมถึงพระเอก อิลเลย์

อิลเลย์ รีโกรว์ สุดยอดมนุษย์ผู้ไม่ใช่มนุษย์ เป็นคนฉลาดระดับแอ้ดวานซ์คล้ายแจ ซึ่งคนพวกนี้จะมีอารมณ์ความรู้สึกไม่คล้ายคนทั่วไป วิธีจัดการปัญหาก็บียอนกว่าชาวบ้าน ทุกคนที่ตามเรื่องนี้จะรู้กันหมดว่ามีช็อตเด็ดกีฬาดังอะไรบ้าง อันดับหนึ่งความอิหยังวะคือเรื่องซินลู่นั่นแหละ อนึ่ง ทำอะไรได้อย่างนั้น เรื่องเดียวที่เสียใจในชีวิตของผู้ชายสัญชาติเยอรมันคนนี้ก็คือการทำแบบนั้น พี่แกบอกว่า อยากทำกับแทแทนทำกับเขา ให้เขาได้เห็น อย่างนั้นตอนนี้ฉันคงสบายใจกว่า 'ห้ามคิด ลืมซินลู่เสียเถอะ ไม่มีเหตุผลอะไรให้ต้องเจอหน้ากันอีก อย่าคิดถึงเขา' กลายเป็นหมา (ป่าล่าเนื้อ) ไม่ได้อ้อนวอนนะแต่บังคับให้ลืม (5555)

ความอิลเลย์ค่อนข้าง abusive หนักมาก ตัวคนเขียนก็คงรู้ดีแต่อยากเขียนอยู่ดีเลย เลยพยายามเน้นเสมอว่าอิลเลย์ไม่เหมือนคนทั่วไป ความคิดการกระทำหลุด ด้วยไอคิวพุ่งปรี๊ด พระเจ้าก็ให้ส่วนอื่นด้อยแทนซึ่งลำบากชีวิตคนอื่นมาก แทเองก็ลำบาก ตอนแทรู้ตัวว่าชอบอิลเลย์ก็พูดกับตัวเองตลอดว่าฉันบ้าไปแล้วโรคจิตไปแล้วแน่ๆ รักษาไม่หายแล้ว คือชอบไปหมดแล้ว ให้ตาย อ่านแล้วกุมขมับ

ฉากที่ชอบในการอ่านคือ การตามหาแทจนเจอ 3 ครั้ง ครั้งแรกในป่าพกแก๊สโซลีนไปเผาป่า !!!! มันบ้าน่ะ ครั้งที่สองคือถล่มกลุ่มรามันแล้วเจอแท ตรงนี้ชอบการบรรยายความดีใจของอิลเลย์แต่ก็หน้าแห้งเพราะแทขึ้นรถไปกับซินลู่ ครั้งที่สามคือเดินลงจากรถมาเจอแทตรงป้ายรถบัส ครั้งนี้แย่หน่อยเพราะสติหลุดไปละ (ความจริงก็สติหลุดตลอดแต่มันยังได้อีกเรื่อยๆนะ)

แทอุยน่าจะชอบอิลเลย์มานาน ไม่รู้ เคมีมันดี แรงดึงดูดมันออกตั้งแต่วิดีโอคอลกันแล้ว พอมาเจอกันก็ค่อนข้างสปาร์กนะแต่ต่างคนต่างไม่ได้รู้จักมักจี่ ความแทหยุดว่างงานเลยลอยไปเรื่อยๆ เจออา ทำงาน หนี โดนจับจากอิลเลย์ โดนจับจากคนอื่น กลับมาหาอิลเลย์ ชีวิตเหมือนว่าวขาด ลอยไปลอยมา แต่แทเป็นเด็กดีนะ เวลาคิดอะไรค่อนข้างฉายความเป็นเด็กดี เรื่องด้ายแดง กิลซังซอล อยากให้อิลเลย์เป็นผู้เป็นคน ชอบหนังสือ แต่น้องเหมือนตุ๊กตาถูกจับไปวางนั่นนี่ไปเรื่อยไปหน่อยดูหลักลอย (5555) แล้วชอบยอมอิลเลย์มานานแล้วอะ ถึงบอกว่าคงชอบอิลเลย์อยู่ก่อนแต่แรกแล้ว ยอมตั้งแต่เล่มแรกยันเล่มสุดท้าย เฮ้อ

โดยรวมก็สนุก สเกลเรื่องใหญ่ดีเลยตื่นเต้น ML ค่อนข้างไปสุดในทุกทาง MC ก็นิสัยน่าสนใจดี เนื้อเรื่องมีอะไรใหม่ตลอด 6 เล่ม สามเล่มแรกสนุกดีแต่สามเล่มหลังเราว่าสนุกมากอยู่ เริ่มออกนอกฮ่องกงไปนั่นไปนี่ ดูไม่ติดแหง็กดูไปเรื่อยๆ ตอนจบเหมือนรีบนิดนึงแต่มีภาคเสริมต่อ เดี๋ยวไปเจอกันเล่มเสริมเลย โกๆ

I really don't like SA, I wish those scenes weren't there, but everything else was amazing.

What I loved:

-The SLOW burn. Let's bring back books where it takes 200 pages for the characters to meet.
Also, I loved their phone calls before meeting in person (well, I love all their phone calls, especially the one when Taeui confesses)
“Well, this is the first time I've heard that. Do you like my hands?”
“Yes, they're very beautiful.”
“Haha, alright then. After I die, I'll give you these hands.”

-Taeui, our lovable protagonist. He's such a forgiving saint, always nice and optimistic. The worst shit could be happening to him, and you won't catch him whining and boring you to death.
No one else could put up with Ilay's ass but him
“Remember this, Taeil. From today - every day from now, you're mine.”

-Ilay's obsession. He is the one character I genuinely believe would do ANYTHING batshit crazy for his loved one, because he did, from burning down forests to bombing cities. Truly the most obsessed character of all time.
I think he's a very well written dark character. He doesn't change for love, but he is different for Tay, and that makes their relationship so wholesome
“Since you can't run away anymore, I will just cut off this leg and keep it next to me. I will devour that leg. The leg that keeps thinking of escaping me.”

“Say it yourself. If I take this out, you speak clearly with your own mouth. You are mine. Jeong Taeui belongs to Ilay, from head to toe. Will you say that yourself?”

I started reading this when I was drowning in sorrow and depression and the unfairness of life thrown at me. Ilay Reigrow felt like a sliver of lifeline. Ilay Reigrow is completely insane. Madman. Psycho. I really feel so bad for Jeong Taeui. But I am completely in love with his character. He's a crazy psycho but that's what kept me sane and distracted my mind from the unimaginable pain. I cried in the morning and then numbed it by thinking about Ilay and Taeui. I cried at night and numbed it by reading their story. I know I am not really sane if I have enjoyed this story. But if the world didn't let me be innocent why can't I love a psychopath like Ilay. I felt like if only someone like Ilay was real, he would've taken revenge from my abuser. With the intensity he holds, it sure would've calmed the fire burning inside me.

Bueno, no existe un personaje cuerdo en toda esta historia, creo que hay escasez de psiquiatras jshgjd. Fuera de eso, soy re fan de las escenas de Ilay siendo repentinamente una buena persona con Tae. Mi lado coherente me dice que eso no justifica lo que hizo/hace, pero mi lado masoquista dice que es un 10, gracias.

Definitely enjoyed the last 2 volumes the most but generally a really good series.
At this point any series that make me stay up all night to read is good & I have been reading nothing but bangers this year.
I wanted an actually insane & unhinged man and Ilay delivered that the way no one else could.

Jeong Taeui, my beloved and kind-hearted pookie, I adore you but you are so fvkng stupid sometimes it hurts. Also, your self-sacrificing tendencies and naivety do not deserve cookies but I wanna still hug you





Now, novel Ilay Riegrow hits different




he is definitely my favourite kind of dark, toxic ML:
- unhinged, fierce, cunning, brutal, cruel (without any hint of humanity per Tay)
- gorgeous, very tall, very handsome, very rich rich rich (diamond spoon per Tay) and very huge down there that Tay always has to suffer (and Ilay is always hornykhfglt for his Taeil)
- aggressive af, possessive af, crazy af over his wife, will stab your eyes without hesitation if you so much glance at his wife for a second and will burn the whole forest down just to find his runaway wife (my poor summerchild Tay)
- overprotective and sweet but only to his wife, only shows his human side to his wife, he's willing to do anything, ANYTHING, for his wife (Ilay is live laugh love for Jeong Taeui only)
- hes so hot and rich and toxic and complex he's too spicy but a very flavourful MeaL nonetheless


Iltae is love and I adore their dynamic so much
sometimes I love my ship extra toxic but good for each other

The main characters, Ilay Riegrow and Jeong Taeui, had a captivating yet toxic relationship, with one being deeply emotional and the other struggling to feel emotions. Despite some dull moments in the novel, the unfolding of their dynamic was intriguing. The author skillfully portrayed Ilay's problematic personality, which created some uncomfortable parts. Although Taeui appeared to have a "dumb brain" when it came to people, he was the one who felt the most, and this contrast greatly impacted Ilay, who couldn't feel much without Taeui.
