Pete Griflow is the last person anyone would suspect of being a porn star. He’s quiet, gawky, and can’t even talk to guys without turning red. But on camera, he’s a different person. In the porn world, he’s Jaden Prime, a coquettish power bottom who’s been tantalizing fans for over a year now.

Pete is in a rut, though, and he knows it. And what’s worse, his boss knows it. If he can’t reignite his passion for the biz, he’s going to have trouble paying his none-too-cheap college tuition.

When Pete is given the opportunity to star in a huge summer production, sparks fly between him and his costar, Kyle Darko. Kyle is Pete’s opposite: he’s daring, achingly sexy, and in love with the sex industry. Their chemistry is palpable on and off screen, but dating on a porn set is tricky. Even pros struggle to separate fantasy from reality, especially with a script dictating their seduction. But what’s building between them can’t be ignored, and it’s so much more than getting some “action.”

I was lucky enough to receive an early ARC of this book for review.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, Hotline, which featured a guy who worked as a phone sex operator at Murmur, Inc. This time around we get the story of one of Murmur, Inc's video porn stars, Jaden (aka Pete). I liked that Pete was a shyer guy who wasn't adventurous in his everyday life (he's a student and also works in a coffee shop). His porn alter ego is much more exciting, and Pete hoped it would force him to be more outgoing. But he's been uninspired lately, even though he's only been in porn for a year.

That changes when he's hooked up for a longer video project with Even aka Kyle, a super hot newcomer. Their rapport was sizzling and sweet from the start.

This is a hot contemporary that will appeal to most m/m readers. Despite being porn stars, there's no "cheating" in the book (after the pair meet, neither has sex with anyone else). Also, Pete is a sweet and awkward character, not jaded or cocky. Kyle/Evan is more the confident and sexy extrovert, the type you'd expect to be a porn star, but he's the one who falls for Pete hard. Also the book is entirely in Pete's POV.

There is some instalove happening, but the interactions between the pair were fun and steamy so I didn't really care. There's no real angst in the book other than some "I wonder what he really thinks of me" moments. Also Pete is not "out" as a porn star, so there are some issues around that, but nothing super angsty.

The writing is quite good with lots of funny dialogue. I particularly liked Pete's mom and his boss at the coffee shop.

Some of my favorite lines that I highlighted:

"When I ask this question, please imagine it's Oprah speaking."
"It was like he'd won some sort of gene pool lottery, whereas Pete had been given a consolation toaster."
"He had the animal instincts of a newborn kitten."

If you like a light, sexy read, or stories with sex workers, you'll love this book. Recommended.

When I see a book listed as a romance with porn stars as the main characters I always think it will surely be one big mess - where are the boundaries, what about the other people they'll be having sex with and the jealousy that's sure to play a big part. But, I thought fuck it and requested this one anyway.

Now I have to get my big Kardashian butt out and say that despite my initial misgivings this was so good.

"I think we can have our cake and hopefully eat it off of each other.

These two were just the right combination of adorable and hot. Right from the start, I felt their connection and they certainly had my windows steamed over. I loved watching Darko bring Jaden's confidence out from amongst his awkward demeanor and how their feelings developed.

My only negative would be the use of their various names for the first 20% or so. They each had a porn name, nickname and their real names and they were all used at once, whether be in first or third person, it got a bit confusing. Aside from that, everything flowed well and was wrapped up nicely.

Will definitely be adding the first book in this series to my list.

4.5 stars.

When I first read the blurb, I was a wee bit worried that we'd see the two MCs perform with others, based on their line of business.

But I jumped right into this book, and then by chapter 4, the plot and fabulous writing kept me glued to the pages until the very end.

I should have left my assumptions at the front page.

Pete aka Jaden is in porn, working for Murmur Inc., to help pay for his college tuition. He enjoys it to some extent, and it pays the bills. But he's also sort of not loving it, and that comes across in his performance. His other job at a coffee shop isn't enough to cover tuition, and Pete needs this job. He also hoped when he first started that being a porn star would make him more outgoing and exciting, but that hasn't come to fruition. He's not out as a porn actor, and keeps that part of his life very much hidden from the coffee shop people and everyone else.

His boss at Murmur Inc. tells him about a feature film that she wants him to star in, with Evan/Kyle Darko as the star of the movie. And if he can't pull off his part in the movie, Pete may have to look for a new job.

Kyle is Pete's opposite in many ways - loves being a porn star, loves strutting his stuff in front of the camera, and, according to Pete, is way more daring and so not boring or gawky like Pete.

They meet as one does prior to starting the shoot, and oh boy, the UST just leaps off the pages. The scenes are super tame early on, because that's part of the movie, but I was already fanning myself from the sexual tension between the two men.

The book is told entirely from Pete's POV, so we don't really get Evan/Kyle's inner thoughts, but despite Pete's disbelief, Kyle falls for Pete. Hard.

I totally believed their romance, quick as it may be coming about, and I loved how sweet and humble Pete is, and I loved Kyle the same, even though he was a bit (okay, a lot) on the cocky side. But he knew what he wanted, namely Pete, and went for it, no hesitation.

Pete of course has trouble believing that a hot guy like Kyle could really want him, which is more or less the only angst found in this book. There is one moment where I was a little concerned that it might derail their relationship, but all's well that ends well, and it was but a blip on the radar, really.

I giggled a lot. A whole lot. The narrative in Pete's POV, and the dialogue are often snarky and hilarious, and there are quite a few one-liners that made me laugh out loud. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and I think you will too.

Pete's mom was fabulous, and so was Kyle's family. They rounded out a fantastic cast.

Highly recommended. Also, while this is the 2nd in a series, it's no problem at all to read this as a standalone, though I would suggest that you read the first one, Hotline, as well, just to get the whole experience.

ALL. THE. FRIGGIN. STARS!!!!!!!

Quinn Anderson did it again!

Man, this was just wonderful. I loved getting to know these two dorks, and I was so damn invested in their story...

The characters- both main and secondary- were brilliant. Pete's mom was a true gem; and Sana was *the* Boss- no pun intended; and Raj was really Best Friend goals! And of course, Colette. You can't just leave her out of this. That woman rocks.

Can I just say (again, cause I think I remember I went on about something of the sort with Hotline) that I'm absolutely, positively, SO FUCKING HERE for the approach these books give to the porn industry, and to the effect the line of work has on the lives of the people involved? And by "people involved" I'm obviously referring to the people who work in it-but also their inner circle. I honestly think that it's precisely this aspect that's one of this series'strongest points. I loved the insightful and sensible way this particular topic is approached. It honestly makes me want to see more books with this same treatment.

In regards to the previous point- but also specifically about the characters for this particular story- I can't explain how positively giddy it made me to see them approach the subject with the maturity they did . I'm so, very much, here for that level of commitment and communication and- seriously. SO. MUCH. YES! I loved Pete and Evan's conversations, and how they worked to be on the same page when getting into their relationship.

What surprised me about this book, in a way, is that it was really low on the drama (there was absolutely no angst, and it was really light on the "tension" too). I guess, after Hotline, I was kind of bracing myself for the moment when shit hit the fan, but fortunately it was all pretty smooth and, you know, it worked wonderfully with this kind of story.

There was honestly not one dull moment while getting to know these characters and their story. I was 100% invested all the time, from the first to the last word. Last, but not least (cause it is that sort of book after all), the sexytimes were so amazing...

Seriously. This book. Good shit. Now I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Oooh, this was so much fun!!!

When I saw the title on Netgalley I pounced without reading the blurb. I remembered Hotline from the same author and yeah, no need to read the info! Jumped right in and didn't regret a single second.

Just like the previous book in the Murmur Inc. universe I absolutely adored this book!

This release came as a surprise, since I wasn't expecting a sequel to Hotline any time soon, and it's not exactly a sequel! While set in the same universe, Hotline focuses on telephone sex (workers) and Action is all about the porn side of the Murmur Inc. business.

Personally, this book — those guys's story — was a highlight in my week. Month. It'll remain a favorite for sure. I've been fascinated by porn for a long time, and there are a lot of stories like this one living and breathing in my head. I mean, who doesn't adore two porn stars falling in love?

I found the story well paced, with a few ups and downs here and there, but overall entertaining in a certain way that I found not a single thing boring — I was drawn in from the very start and fully invested until the end.

Pete and Evan's story was yet again a perfect read for my taste — sweet in tone, innocent while super sexy at the same time.

They meet very early on in the story and the romance pretty much also happens right from the start. It's one of those insta-loves where one of them, or perhaps even both? guys do some dancing around, the whole hot-and-cold thing for a while, despite their instant attraction.

I AM SO DOWN FOR THAT.

Sure it makes you wanna bitch-slap one of them every now and then but that was half the fun (for me). It's a tad more irritating IRL but in a good story? With a HEA? Bring on the feels.

Thank you very much. I'm very forgiving when it comes to sweet, cocky guys—wink.

As you can probably guess, I was totally hooked on Evan and so adored Pete’s character. They're both my kinda guys, both charming in their own way, a tad geeky and simply nice guys.

But wait, it never got boring with Evan. Heh.

Sadly, we only get to be in Pete's head and Evan does remain a bit of a mystery as it so often happens with a single POV storytelling. Sigh.

Pete's mom was one of those rare cool mom's everyone probably wants! I don't usually pay much attention to family members in books, because often they're just there to be there and that's okay. I totally love Pete's mom though. Woot!

So, yeah, the story was super exciting, the romance wonderful and their chemistry off the chart delicious.

And it was very much New Adult through and through.

The purrrrrfect story!!

I always say that it's always difficult to fully get the other guy in a story when having only one person’s POV which I’d say is probably my biggest 'complaint' yet again. Sigh. I understand it's a challenge to make the reader see and understand all the characters withouth giving them a look into heir heads...

I would have loved to be in Evan's head though, even just for an epilogue or something.

He never got to introduce his parents or friends or reveal much about his past. I found his actions did speak loud enough for the important bits in their relationship! But yeah... Mostly, we just don’t know what he’s thinking.

And once again I was startled when I reached the final chapter!

It just went by so fast...

Highly recommended!

Dear Quinn,

Thank you for creating Pete and Evan and brining their story to life.

Action already has its special place in my heart, it's like, you read my mind! I so needed this story and bam! there it is! I had no idea :)

Now, I'll be patiently waiting for more =D

3.5 stars rounded down up because it doesn't happen often but I've changed my mind and because there're still no 1/2 stars here on GR and while I enjoyed the story for me it was just too sex dependent...full review to follow soonish!

Lights, Cameras...Action!

'Action' is the second book in Quinn Anderson's series 'Murmur Inc.' and while 'Hotline' dealt with the phone sex side of Murmur Inc. there's more to this company than a few ringing phones...there're lights, cameras and more than a little action that takes place on film.

Pete Griflow is quiet and gawky. At times he's more than a little awkward when it comes to talking to men...so not happening at least not until he steps in front of a camera and becomes pwer-bottom...Jaden Prime.

Pete got into porn as a way to help pay for his education and help his mom. He's a college student, a porn star and a coffee barista...Pete's a busy guy so when he's offered the chance at a regular role in a new project...a chance for some extra money...he's tempted but when he gets a look at his possible co-star, Pete finds that he's tempted by more than a chance to earn some extra money...he's tempted by a man that's sex on legs and not only pushes all his buttons...but sets off all his bells and whistle like a 5 alarm fire.

Kyle's the very opposite of everything that Pete is. He's confident, daring, sexy and the sex industry is where he want's to make his home...professionally speaking. Kyle has no problem with being a porn star and when he makes his move to acting in 'gay porn' turns out he's one hot commodity that's making Pete weak in the knees.

I liked Pete and Kyle together their personalities played well off of each other and while Pete was by far the less confident of the pair he had fleeting moments of confidence and adversely we got to see Kyle struggle with moments of insecurity.

While I'd have to say there was probably a bit more sex in this story than was maybe necessary, I'd also have to say that given what the MCs did for a living I would have found it to be rather unusual if there'd been little to no sex in this story as well.

Regardless of the 'too much sex' this story was really saved for me by Pete and Kyle I liked them and as a couple I found them to be really sweet as a couple in spite of what they both did for a living I loved that for each of them sex wasn't just sex when they were the parties engaged it meant something because it was more than the physical there were feelings and their hearts were involved.

'Hotline' was a good start to this story but for me 'Action' was just a tiny bit better and gave me the push I needed to keep this one on my radar...of course I'll be waiting for the next book when it's released on audio and without a doubt I'll have my fingers crossed that the narrator's the same because really...Nick J. Russo...need I say more? maybe not but I'm going to...

Once again Nick J. Russo was the narrator for this story and once again 3.5 stars became a little more...a little better so at the end of it all 3.5 stars becomes 4.

Pete has ended a hard relationship and he isn't doing that well with his main job and secret identity—porn star. That's when is invited for an audition with a possible future costar he'll give anything to work with. If only Kyle would decide if he's hot or cold for Pete.

I read Hotline, the first in this series and fell in love with the universe. I was so glad I found the time to get this continuation! For sure, you don't need to read it but let me say I preferred it over Action. I think Action lacked something whenever the scene was supposed to get hotter. I remember feeling excited (pun intended?) for Hotline's erotic scenes, while here it was just "oh yeah, another". Now, I should say the latter is my usual reaction, I'm not usually into erotica. That's how good Hotline was. I have no idea why Action didn't do the same for me but I guess this played an important part in my comparison.

I actually liked Pete better than Hotline's main character. Pete is a super cute, kinda nerdy, and actually sexy main character. It's hard not to get him. And even harder not to like him. Chances are you'll be in love and wish your son were like him. Even though he's a porn star and for some reason not getting as much money as I'd think he would.

Now Kyle... I know I'm not alone here so this may sound repetition from other reviews you have already read. Still, I'm with those who couldn't get him. For most of the book I waited for some plot twist when he'd say why he was so into Pete. I know, I said Pete is super this and that but still... why? It was really like instalove for him. Super weird. I'd be cautious if I were Pete, if Kyle is able to fall in love like that... Something was missing here to connect me to Kyle's real feelings. Without that, he was just too bi-dimensional for me to appreciate.

The high point of this series is describing the adult industry with such love I always feel curious myself. Of course, becoming a porn star is impossible for me but... Can I be Colette, please???

You'll love most characters and you'll also feel curious about this universe. Now I wonder what's next for this. Phone sex, porn video... how more exciting can the plot get now? I'm looking forward to number 3!

Review by The Blogger Girls.

This is the story of two guys from in the porn industry who meet on set and realizing they have explosive chemistry, decide to date. Jaden has been in the business for a while now and uses it to supplement his income while he is in college. Due to a relationship with his first love that turned into an ugly, judgmental and cruel ending when he was honest about his job, he has kept it completely separate from his real life, afraid of anyone else he knows finding out. He is using it as a means to an end, with plans on a different career after college. His trust issues have turned him into a bit of a shy, insecure person, when he isn’t on camera.

Evan, on the other hand, is relatively new to the porn scene, but is completely out to his friends and family about his porn career hoping to one day become a director or owner. He is confident and sure and knows what he wants, and that is the shy Pete, aka Jaden Prime, to be his costar.

Their chemistry is sizzling from the moment they meet, but they must remain professional for the sake of the job for different reasons. They tip toe around each other at first, not knowing if the other is just doing his job or not, and Pete’s insecurities and Evan’s hot and cold attitude cause them a few speed bumps along the way. But, once they realize their attraction is mutual, they take things to the next level, juggling their budding relationship with their job responsibilities.

I loved watching these two as they began their relationship. It was sweet and sexy and everything you’d expect from a young falling in love pairing. It was also easy to feel the energy and excitement of their firsts (outside of the work) and fun to watch as they tried to act like they were new to each other on set after already passing that base and flying for home in their personal lives. Typical expected issues, such as their jobs and how that would work should they continue getting serious, were handled with relative ease and little fanfare.

I did not read the previous book but believe this can easily be read on it’s own. Action was the porn aspect to the company, Murmer Inc., whereas Hotline, the first book, concentrated on the phone sex department. I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing what’s next.

Thoroughly enjoying this series - and pornstars are one of my most fave MM readings (in fact if any of you have recommendations please share them!)

Pete and Evan have real chemistry - and their relationship blooms perfectly. They feel like a regular couple having issues with work and school so the authenticity bleeds through. Of course not every college student is a pornstar but enough either work in or on the fringe of sex worker that it feels real. I certainly did while in college - and tuition has gotten more (not less) expensive. You never know.

Coming to terms w/yourself and discovering love where you don't expect it always brings a smile to my face. Ah to be young again.

My Review:

I enjoyed this book so much, and the reason for that was Pete. Pete's a porn star, alter ego...Jaden, but Pete is a normal guy. He's awkward, shy, and is constantly second guessing himself. He is NOT overflowing with confidence, although usually he does pretty well when he puts on the act of Jaden. But when he's requested for a special project, he's thrown...both by his costar AND the fact they really don't want him to act. They want him to be himself, something he is just not comfortable with.

But the real problem for Pete is Evan, his costar. Evan runs hot and cold and there are moments when Pete is swept away with Evan, sure that what he's feeling is completely mutual. But it could be that Evan is just a really good, charismatic actor. Pete has been drawn in before. He doesn't trust what he's feeling with Evan, and his warnings from his director make things even more complicated.

I loved this story. Despite it being set in the world of porn where the two guys will be having sex, their relationship actually has a pretty slow build-up. There is so much irresistible chemistry between the two of them. I loved that.

Pete is such a normal guy. You can't help but to fall in love with him with all of his awkward, shyness.

And I thought it was interesting how the book ended (don't worry...no spoilers)...but I really did like how matter of fact the guys were about their job in porn. It's just a job and despite all the angst over people finding out about it in the book, they really do look at the job as just that...a job.

Overall, I thought it was fun and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It was fun and I was sad when it ended.

I received an arc from the publisher via netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Okay, uh let's start with the positives

What I liked
•I really loved how sex workers are humanised and sex work itself isn't treated as a dirty thing.
•I did kind of like the romance. Not love but it wasn't bad
•There was a Hijabi side character and I'm happy the author included diversity beyond cis gay white boys.
•I did like Pete and Evan. They were likeable characters
•Evan was open about being a porn star, another thing I liked.

What I didn't really like
•It was kind of boring. It really wasn't that interesting of a story despite it having a really interesting premise
•Evan looked like the Pete's ex boyfriend. I just wasn't a fan of that.
•It was really predictable. I guessed multiple things long before they happened.
•There were multiple call backs to Pete's ex boyfriend making it seem like he'd show up but he never does
•There's also reference to the Pete's dad but he's mentioned once and then just brushed to the side.
•There was this one really irritating line that just got on my nerves. A woman said to Pete's "[gay] porn is for women" as she was in the room when a scene was being filmed. That just really irked me and is a little reminiscent to straight girls fetishising m/m relationships
•It was really insta lovey. They literally said 'I love you' after not even a month. And Evan claimed he's loved Pete since he first saw him
•Despite being a student full time Pete is like, never at school? That was weird

It was overall a very 'meh' book.

Porn stars falling in love, on the set? And it's MM no less?!? I am so there. Action is sweet and sexy and I fell in love with both Pete aka Jaden and Evan aka Kyle Darko. Pete is a sweet, awkward kind of guy who lacks self confidence, except when he's on set filming porn. Then he's smooth and sexy as a bottom in porn films. When he meets Kyle Darko at an audition to star in a movie with him, it's lust at first sight, for both men.

Watching as these two fell in love was so sexy, so sweet that I was awwing all over the place. Evan is the smooth, sexy almost arrogant guy who goes after what he wants and Pete is the one reeling, wondering how such a sexy guy could possibly want him. I found the contrast between Pete the real guy and Jaden the sexy alter ego really interesting and love that in real life Pete's just a regular guy like everyone else. And the fact that it was Evan who fell hard and obvious was just perfect!

Action is in entirely Pete's POV, so unfortunately we didn't get Evan's thoughts, except when he's talking and it's too bad because he's an interesting guy. He's the sort of alpha male we all love in romances, but he's not cardboard or cookie cutter. He's just as adorable as Pete, in the opposite way. Put him and Pete together and you get sexy, sweet magic!

I received a copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads

5 *fans myself* Stars

As a fan of Quinn Anderson, I was highly anticipating Action, like stalking the book. There are times when you've been waiting for a book, and the anticipation has your expectations too high. This isn't one of those cases. Action was better than I'd hoped for. I devoured every word and wanted more.

This is the second installment of the Murmur Inc series, but could easily be read as a standalone.

Peter, aka Jaden at Murmur Inc, was an easy character to love. He's a college student, with a quirky, supportive mother and an absentee dad with a second family. Not wishing to tax his mother more, he works at a coffee shop to explain how he's paying his own tuition. Unlike in the first installment, our narrator isn't in the phone sex trade... he's a porn star.

Peter is only confident when he's 'Jaden' during production. But Peter is geeky, introspective, and introverted. He's gun-shy about dating after a bad experience during Freshman year in college. The 20-yo is weeks shy of his 21st birthday when he meets "Kyle".

Kyle exudes confidence, drawing Peter like a moth to flame, and the boy can't summon his inner 'Jaden'. Peter turns into a stunned, at a loss for words, innocent geek during an audition for an upcoming movie that bridges the gap between porn and a real film.

Slow-burn. Tension-filled. Banter and dirty talk. I was hanging on every word of the novel, face flushed and eyes bugging out of my head, as two porn stars did their mating dance.

I was a bit terrified as the pages turned that the dreaded miscommunication, strife to add drama to draw out the story, would hit, and it would ruin the 'vibe' of the entire read. If you're like me, I'm going to put you out of your misery, so you can read and enjoy every word, without fear. It did add a bit of anticipation to the journey for me, but not in a good way. So, here ya go... Thank you, Quinn Anderson for NOT adding miscommunication, unnecessary drama, and for just allowed the boys' relationship to grow fluidly without hijacking it to keep the story going. I could feel the author's connection to the guy, and it made the story that much more special in my eyes.

The side characters were great- Mom, the boss and coworker at the coffee shop, and the buddy as school. They added another dimension to the book which I appreciated. Truly a supportive cast.

At the end of the journey, I was thoroughly satisfied and felt light and happy. I cannot wait to get my hands on book three in this series and anything else Quinn Anderson writes.

Jaden/Pete and Darko/Evan meet when Evan chooses Pete as his co-star for an upcoming porn movie, Heat Wave, a story about two young men who meet and fall in love. No one ever expected life to imitate art.

Aww, this was such a sweet story. I loved both Pete and Evan. They are both likable characters, although I'll be honest, the story is told completely from Pete's POV, so I wasn't really sure what to make of Evan at first. He came off as a bit of a douche, but my view of him changed quickly. Pete is sort of shy, awkward and unsure of himself, while Evan is the complete opposite. He's confident and secure in not only who he is, but what he does. He's not only unashamed of being a Porn Star, but he's proud of it. He wants a career, not as an actor forever of course, but he wants to make a career in for himself in the industry, whereas for Pete, it's just a means to an end. It's just a way to get him through college.

I have to say I loved that while Pete and his mother are faithful and attend church, they were open minded. No one was going to burn in hell for being gay or being a Porn Star. I adored the secondary characters of Sana and Raj. I loved that along with Pete's mom, they were such a strong support system for Pete. Joshua, one of Pete's coworkers at the coffee shop, wasn't my favorite person, but he added comic relief to the story, and I wouldn't mind seeing him get a happy ending. *hint hint, nudge nudge*

This was a pretty low angst, sweet and sexy read. Although I was a bit sexually frustrated, I have to say I was pleased that the author took her time to get Pete and Evan into bed. You'd think being porn stars they'd just jump right in, but they didn't. The author really took her time developing a solid start to their relationship before she took them there. Pete and Evan had amazing chemistry, both on and off the set, and they were beyond hot together. All in all, this was a sweet and steamy romance that was really enjoyable, well-written and paced well. I'd highly recommend it!!

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This book combines deliciously filthy smut with an incredibly sweet romance and perfect comic timing. Gawky, socially awkward Pete is wonderful as a pornstar who moonlights as a barista. Confident, gorgeous Kyle is the perfect pornstar. And while he is expected to seduce Pete’s character Jaden in their new movie, no one (especially not Pete) expects life to imitate porn. Costars falling for each other is an old storyline but somehow the author manages to make this feel fresh.

Fans who enjoyed the phone sex in Hotline will enjoy the behind the scenes look at gay porn in Action. The world of porn is laid bare in all its ridiculous faux glamour and the result is more comic than sexy. But the genuine connection between Kyle and Pete is unbelievably hot. A steamy, explicit read, this is definitely not a book for public waiting rooms or train journeys.

Geeky Pete’s mundane reality as a student barista trying to help his mum pay the bills makes his pornstar existence seem even more absurd. I loved Pete’s eclectic friends and colleagues and I love the parallel lives he lives.

The ending feels a little bit rushed but this is a fun, sexy read and I’m pretty sure realism was never an end goal. This is a fabulous read. I have fallen in love with Quinn Anderson’s writing and I can’t wait for her next story.

Action is the second book in Murmur Inc but can easily be read as a stand alone (I haven't read the first book yet). I have to admit when I read the MC's were porn stars I wasn't sure how that would work for me. I don't like cheating or MC's with open relationships but I decided to give this one a try and I'm so glad I did. It was fun, humorous, entertaining and sweet (yes a sweet book with porn stars).

This book centers around Jaden (Pete) who has been doing porn for about a year but he's not feeling inspired anymore. Pete is actually pretty much a computer geek and very shy with only a few friends in his "normal" life. He's going to college, lives at home with his mom and works part-time at a coffee shop to explain to his mom how he gets his money to help pay the bills. He wanted porn to help him come out of his shell some and be more adventurous. He's worried if he can't get his inspiration back he'll lose his job and won't be able to pay for school. This changes when he is introduced to Kyle Darko (Evan) who is a rising star in the porn world. Evan is the opposite of Pete, in that he is out-going, confident and sexy. Pete is immediately drawn to Evan and the chemistry is mutual and sizzling between the two.

I really loved both Evan and Pete and the connection between the two of them. There is very little angst in this book other than a little bit of uncertainty about how he really feels about me and the fact that Evan is out with his porn star status and Pete is not. There isn't any cheating and the story makes that believable (you'll have to read to see how that works). There is plenty of spicy sex scenes, humorous dialogue and sweet moments between the guys.

There are also some really great secondary characters that add to the book and made me laugh. The relationship is a bit instant but it didn't bother me.

I ended up really enjoying this book and I will be going back and reading the first book in this series. I'm new to Quinn Anderson but after this book I'm a fan! If you're looking for a hot, fun, humorous and low angst M/M book then look no further than Action!

A copy of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and the publisher with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

When you think of porn there's certain stereotypes that come to mind, notions of endless meaningless sex and arrogant participants. Some of those stereotypes are in fact on display in this romance set in the porn world, but there's also charming characters and heartfelt emotions that emerge from between the numerous erotically-charged scenes. This dichotomy makes for an engaging read that completely captivated me from the first page to the last.

Pete's a hard working young man struggling to make enough money to cover his college tuition. To that end, he made the decision to become a gay porn actor (Jaden Prime) and gained a bit of notoriety for his boyish looks. At first it was an enjoyable experience but lately it's starting to feel a bit stale. The moment he meets new boy on the block, Kyle Darko, though he suddenly feels energized. Pete's normally all about being a professional but Kyle (aka Evan) brings out a very unprofessional side to him that's making it harder to not mix business with pleasure. As they engage in a relationship off-screen their time on-screen becomes even more complicated as the truth starts blending with make-believe which keeps readers on the edge of their seats waiting to see if The End will lead to HEA. Pete's immensely appealing with his shy and awkward nature. He's self-deprecating and almost like a teenager when it comes to his early feelings for Evan as he never thinks of himself as sexy. His interactions with Evan early on were flirty but rife with uncertainty. The more time they spend together though the bolder and more outgoing he became. The more interactions they had the more endearing I found them as a couple which had me rooting for them from the very start.

Kyle Darko aka Evan's new to the gay porn world but quickly becoming a star. He has a commanding presence and it's led him to starring roles despite his newbie status. He's full of self-confidence and his initial meeting with Pete reflects that as it's clear who's in control early on. He's immediately drawn to Pete and unapologetic when it comes to his flirtiness and attempts to win him over. He too tries to remain professional on-screen but off-screen he charms and lavishes endless attention on Pete, building up Pete's ego while working on defining their relationship more fully. Evan's playful and wise beyond his years, quite comfortable in his own skin. He's self-assured and his unabashed nature made him all the more likable. He truly cared for Pete and showed him how much through each word and deed and his time with him was exhilarating to see.

Ms. Anderson crafted a surprisingly sweet, sentimental, and sexy romance set in the porn world. She vividly depicted the intense eroticism of the scenes being filmed, the pitfalls of being a couple in a career where you sleep with others, and the fears of others discovering the truth about their careers. The relationship between Evan and Pete started off with a crackling introduction and quickly became enflamed through their erotic time on-screen and their time off-screen full of sexual tension. Erotic encounters are beautifully balanced with sweet moments of heartfelt talks that had readers becoming more invested in them as the story progressed. Readers got great insight into Pete, seeing him evolve from introverted to self-assured, but the same can't be said about Evan. As Evan is such an appealing character I would've loved to learn more about him, got his POV throughout the story, and it would've made this story even stronger. What readers DID get to see of him though was an immensely likable and sexy character whose flirtiness and witty and dirty banter with Pete thoroughly entertained me. Surrounding this delightful couple was an equally entertaining cast of secondary characters who were colorful and easy to relate to. From Pete's understanding mother to his his brash boss Sana these were characters that were supportive and added even more charm to this very likable story. There's also the decadently loud and tell-it-like-it-is Colette who knew from the start how picture perfect they are together and whose comments left me roaring with laughter. From start to finish this was an unforgettable story with endearing characters and crackling dialogue that kept me furiously turning the pages in a tale that had a perfect balance of eroticism and romance and is one not to be missed!

Action is book 2 in Quinn Anderson’s Murmur Inc. series and is absolutely a standalone.

Murmur Inc. is a Porn business. From phone sex to one on one sex. It’s the one on one that we find ourselves in here. In book one we saw the phone sex side and here we have the… Action!
Pete AKA Jaden is a porn star. In the business for a few years now. He’s trying to make ends meet for him and his mom, his porn life is a secret, and he’s completely and utterly shy when not on camera. He’s also the most dedicated person to owning his own life that I’ve read in a while. School, porn, side job, the secrets, a hurtful past boyfriend, and a future one that is just…. Sigh.

Kyle AKA Kyle AKA Darko… Yes I said Kyle twice you’ll understand when you read it. He’s awesome. At first glance there’s a serious intensity to him but when you get to know him it’s really hard not to love him. He’s the guy that you’d build for Pete if you could. He’s out, proud, and loud. His family and friends know what he does and he’s not at all shy anywhere. Pretty opposite to Pete and ultimately what Pete needs.

This is told entirely in Pete’s POV so you never know what’s going through Kyle’s head only what we hear come out of his mouth. The author doesn’t make that frustrating and explains every question you may have.

I had a ton toward the end that Pete took care of epically to get us our answers so have no fear Pete is near!

This is a great, hot and sexy series with awesome characters. Action will quench the sexy needs and give you a sweet and awesome story too.

This was a sweet story about two college aged guys falling in love. The story is told from Pete's point of view. He works part time and goes to school but does porn on the side to pay for his education. It's something he keeps as a closely guarded secret. He doesn't really want to do the side job his boss offers him until he meets his sexy co-star Kyle. Kyle is everything Pete's not, including being proud of his job in porn.

The chemistry between the two young men is instant and it burns bright. They're not supposed to be together off set but they can't seem to stay away from each other. In addition to his anxiety about a first love, Pete has to figure out what he's going to do about dating a guy who is totally open about his porn career. This leads to a bit of conflict but it's very minimal and is easily resolved with some good communication.

Overall I enjoyed this story. In a way I felt I was too old to be reading it. It was definitely a NA, coming of age and first love story. I think I'm a bit jaded to buy an almost instant love like these two had and the old, cynical part of me doesn't see it working out in the long run. But, if you're hearts not made of stone like mine is, you will probably find this sweet and a bit romantic. It was nice to see a story that is mostly angst free and doesn't fall back on the over used, bad communication trope. This was a refreshing change.

This is the second book in the Mumur, Inc series but is fine as a standalone. These characters, except for the boss, are completely different than the characters in book one.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Pete has experience in the porn industry and is good at his job. He is working in porn to help pay for his way through college. In his non-porn life he is shy, conservative and keeping the fact that he works in porn a secret. His new co-star Evan on the other hand is confident, wants a career in porn and doesn't keep that a secret from his family and friends.

Their attraction is instant but working in the industry they do complicates things. I liked the build up and watching them try to have a romance while working around their job. Their chemistry is a strong and the story is very sexy. Pete keeping his porn life separate from the left of his life provided a good amount of angst. I liked the little glimpses of life as a porn star and the different views Evan and Pete had on it.

There were times I wanted the story to move just a little faster and I have to say I thought the ending in relation to their careers was a little convenient but overall this was a good story with plenty of heat.

I think it’s safe to say I am a Quinn Anderson fan. I’m totally digging this series and just the overall way she writes her stories and develops her characters. From the blurb I thought this would be filled with angst and a lot of inner turmoil regarding the characters and the porn industry but it’s not. Not at all. This author took a topic that could easily go very dark and made it sweet, funny, acceptable and fun. I loved the different take she took on sex workers and the porn industry. It was refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jaden Prime (Pete Griflow) got into the porn industry to make some extra money to help pay for college. He doesn’t regret his decision but he does like to keep his porn career private. His newest assignment has him working with out and proud porn star, Kyle Darko (Evan Darko). Pete and Evan hit it off immediately. Their on and off screen chemistry is explosive which is a huge plus for their newest film.

Pete has been burned by an ex in the past so he doesn’t know if he can trust his feelings for Evan. Evan knows what he feels for Pete is real but he struggles with coming on too strong too fast and possibly scaring Pete off.

Both men have to trust in what they feel in order to ensure they can stay together after filming. What I thought was also really unique was the lack of jealousy on either characters part. Granted neither man was with anyone else during their time together but the possibility was always there. Their ability to separate their emotional relationship from their jobs was remarkable. I think it really hit home for me how strongly Evan and Pete felt for each other.

This was an incredibly sweet, explosively hot story that really took me by surprise with how light and fun it was.

This is a part of the Murmur-verse but can be read as a standalone. I would recommend reading Hotline and Action, though. These stories are fantastic.

Recommend.

Action was a cute, hot, sexy and funny love story. The MC's were the perfect fit and had great chemistry together. This is my first book by Quinn Anderson and won't be my last.

Action is the second Quinn Anderson's book I read after her debut last year, Hotline. Unfortunately I have likes and dislikes about this book, and it ends up only within my so-so category...

First off, with having only one perspective, I didn't feel like I have enough balance. Yes, I loved Pete Grifflow -- I loved his babble, I loved his friends, I loved his mom, and honestly Pete's insecurity issues were a bit endearing (except near the end). BUT I couldn't say the same about his love interest, Evan Darko. He came off as a bit two dimensional and I always got quickly bored with gorgeous and perfect specimen anyway, which was how Evan was described (at least from Pete's perspective).

Second, this book is LONG. While I didn't exactly put it down because I was quite engaged with Pete, but at times I thought that the editor (or Anderson herself) could cut several scenes to make it a bit more effective. And may I say that I really didn't find Pete's smoking habit as attractive? Sorry, but I'm not a fan of smoker characters. So having THAT habit written on page annoyed me. Probably would be the scenes I expect to be deleted.

Third, while Pete did experience growth throughout the book, where he gained confidence while being with Evan, but I was not completely happy when even near the end Pete was still a bit in denial about his relationship. Like he wasn't certain about what Evan saw in him, and he couldn't even say that Evan was his boyfriend.

ALSO, I wasn't completely happy with Pete's decision .

Having said that, I liked how Anderson sort of "humanized" porn stars. I mean, they like doing what they do. They came to the industry with various reasons and there aren't any angst, guilt, or humiliation coming from these characters. I also appreciated Anderson's reaching out to diversity by having a Muslim female character -- a friend of Pete -- who also kicks ass in my opinion. Sana's reply to one obnoxious customer at the coffee shop where Pete works his day job is one of my favorite scenes in this book.

In conclusion, I am still going to check out Anderson's next books. But I hope she steps up her game and gives me a more stellar read than the two books in this Murmur Inc. series.

My rating: 3.5 stars

Synopsis: Pete is a secret porn star, in that no one in his life knows how he makes some extra cash to help get through college. He's been at it for about a year, and is kind of going through the motions. Then his boss taps him to do a special project. Pete is about to refuse until he sees a picture of the guy, who reminds him of his ex-boyfriend.
When Pete meets Evan he can't take his eyes off him. Their chemistry is immediate, and it becomes hard for Pete to distinguish between what is happening as they film and what might be happening around it. As Pete and Evan get closer to being finished the project, they get closer to realizing that the feelings that they have might be something special.

What I liked: Pete is a self-described geek, who is working hard to make a better life for himself. His mother is loving and supportive, although she doesn't know about his porn job. He has a few good friends who accept him for who he is. Pete got in to porn in order to be someone other than himself, because he feels as though he is too shy and awkward with people to make connections. In spite of his insecurities, or because of them, Pete comes across as a regular guy.
Evan hasn't been in porn for that long, but he plans to make a career out of it. Evan is also very open with his family and friends about what he does, which Pete envies a little. Evan and Pete are supportive and respectful of each other.

What I didn't like: Pete was a little...whiny about how Evan blew hot and cold. The relationship grew a little too fast for my taste.

Second in the Murmur Inc series but can be read as a standalone as the stories are not linked but set in the same universe.

Pete and Evan are both porn stars, they meet when Pete is auditioning to play Evan's love interest in a feature length porn movie. There is an instant attraction but Pete is reluctant to act on it initially because Evan looks like his ex. Evan has no qualms about jumping right in there and though Pete is slow on the uptake, they do get together. There is very little angst, neither has sex with anyone else once they get together, just a little uncertainty that the attraction they feel is down to the parts they are playing for the film. An enjoyable read with an interesting setting.

The premise of Action is hot: two porn stars meet on set and fall in love while filming a movie. Unfortunately, the reality is that the first half is more dry and awkward than sexy. My first complaint with this story is that it's told from a single perspective—Pete's, the gangly, baby-faced boy next door. His co-star Kyle is supposed to be the sexpot top in the story, but he comes off more smug and cocky (and unrelatably mysterious) than appealing. Which is why I wish the story included his perspective too.

It eventually picks up, and there are some likable secondary characters, but this book just didn't grip me like other porn star romances have.

A great introduction to a new to me author!

Action was amazing! It has everything I was looking for in a book and best of all? There was no miscommunication drama, not really anyways. I'm burnt out on the miscommunication, we gotta break up, let's not talk calmly and rationally about it for weeks and weeks but then run into each other and work everything out. Nope not in this book. This book has class. And man was it HOT in some places! The relationship, tho unconventional, was authentic and was really pleasing to read about. I loved everything about this book! Now I'm going to have to binge read the heck outta Quinn Anderson! Bring it! Highly recommend!
