In this intro to The Negus Effect Series, find out how the Negus of The Black Land Series began, and how The Master found his Goddess…
George Shaw is a man with a past, a secretive present, and plans for a covert group in the future. With almost everything in place, he needs a woman who can handle his life, and sons to fulfil his plans for Detroit.
Pam Jennings is a single mother, who has discovered her truth and is ready to live her life according to her rules. Her main job, however, is protecting her two sons, and raising them in a city currently plagued with crime.
When Pam enters George’s business, he sees everything he wants and needs, but he must get past her reservations…and his secrets, to win her heart.
I'm D. Camille and I am an avid reader and author. I started reading romance books when I was thirteen and since then I've read hundreds. I wanted to write a series that contained the culture and history of the African and African American people.
I like to utilize historical information, science and ancient beliefs. I write for people to enjoy, think, analyze and learn; not only about the characters but hopefully also about themselves. I love to hear from my readers. Write me and tell me about your favorite characters and what you love about them. Me, I love all of them...they came from my heart.
I'm so in love with George/The Master and the love that he had for Pam, Orion, and Corvus. He saw what he wanted and went after her full steam ahead. I love the strong, protective, Black women that Pam portrayed and how she was raising strong Black kings. George and Pam are so right for each other in thinking and beliefs. I'm glad that the backstory of what happened to Orion and Mackenzie was told in great details and how Negus was formed. It's funny how Corvus has been a greedy, momma's boy his whole entire life and how Lance fell in love with Khayla from day one. It's a good thing when strong Black men come together as George, Khalid, and Benjamin did to accomplish great things in the community. It's sad that we live in a world where Blacks are strongly discriminated against, racially profiled, and harassed and/or murdered by police just for being Black. I can't wait for the next book to come out.
Loved it! It's hard for me to be introduced to characters and then rewind to their story after becoming acquainted with them in the present, but I'm glad I got to read their story. It was nice seeing how they developed. There's nothing like a protective man who loves his family and he made it better by deciding to love a ready made family....he claimed them! I'm ready for the next installment as always!
If you have not purchased this book, shame. On. You! D. Camille takes us back on how the young Negus got their start and the love story of George and Pam Shaw. A young divorcee and her still very young sons met and fall in love with the very charismatic, and city good Samaritan George Shaw. Little does Pam know, that George along with his interesting connections, has some very well kept secrets. You will fall in love with The Negus all over again.
I love how George introduced himself to Pam in the bookstore. He charmed her and got to know her and the kids before he attached himself to her family. He let her lead although he was the master of the whole plan. Orion was a very smart and obedient son to them and that's what George wanted for his kids to be respected in every way. To always protect their goddess and kids at all cost. Love this story and can't wait to start the next read.
I love how George and Pam came together. I love how Shaw look out for the family we want for his self. Shaw show Orion and his brother how to become stronger and independent black and what to expect as a black man. Can not wait to read the next book and seen how the character are growing.
I’ve never read anything about this author, but a few things that were mentioned in this story make me curious to research a few things, and I can’t wait to explore. I enjoyed this story and looking forward for what else this author introduces to me next!
A solid 3.5 star read for me. For some reason, this book took me longer than her others to read and it was shorter. It really picked up at the end for me because I got the full view back story for Mack and Orion.
I may shift to a different series in this author's backlog before going onto book 2.
OMG!!!! George Shaw was The Master he didn't play. Pam was an independent strong black woman and when George showed her how a real man handles business and take care of his family. I can't wait for book two.
George Shaw was a man about his business and DID NOT PLAY at all. I just LOVED reading his and Goddess Pam's story. I know this series will be just as exciting as The Black Land series and I cannot wait.
Loved this book! I could feel each word jump from the pages. It was a hard book to put down. The true beginning of a very strong series with very stong characters who have a true calling. Very well written.
D Camille you have done it again! This book was as a excepted, phenomenal! Daddy Shaw don’t play about his family! It was great getting the back story on the Shaw’s! As well as how the Negus came about! I can’t wait 😊 until the next installment! Another five ⭐️!
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. It was nice to read about George and Pam’s romance. Along with the back story of the young Negus, how they met and developed into strong Black leaders in their city. I recommend this book.
I loved reading George and Pam’s story...I never get enough of The Black Land....D Camille spends a beauty picture of Black love, pride and self-reliance.
It's been awhile since I've read one of D. Camille 's books, and I've missed it!! Loved George and Pam's story!! Love the Negus!! As always, D. Camille not only entertains but also educates!! Loved this book and can't wait to read the next book in this series!!😍
George Shaw has always been my book boo and for him and Pam to have their love story told was my dream come true. I'm here for everything this author writes!
I love the Negus and everything they stand for. If only these concepts can come to life. I love the storyline and knowledge being delivered from these series. Asé
I always enjoy reading your 📚 And it's nice to read about mr. Shaw and the other fathers Where it all began I'm looking forward to book 2 in the series.
It was wonderful reading the origins of Mr. George Shaw and all of the original Negus. I loved this story. I can't wait to encounter the next group of Negus in the lineup.
I loved that this book was all about love. Love of a city, his people and family. The Master is the man! I can't wait to check out the rest of the series. Five stars!
It was great getting the back story of Pam and George Shaw as well as the Negus. I enjoyed the stories on Orion, Brandon, Khalil, Lance and Corvus and meeting them as children was a bonus.I look forward to book two in the Negus Effect series. Once again Ms. Camille you have delivered an amazing story that also included a message for our people as well.
Well D. Camille has done it again. Ladies and gentlemen sisters and brothers, this author can WRITE. Her stories are great, well written, and these are stories some of us can relate to. George is no joke the " Master" plays no games when it comes to what he wants and what he needs to do. Not to give anything away but read this in the order it was written or read this first and then the " Black Land " series, either way you will not want to put these books down. Plus the sister doesn't keep you waiting for nine months to read about her characters. READ D. Camille's books.
