This was one of two resources for a university class I took this summer. We studied this and Dave Ramsey material for college students.
This was written for use by BYU and as such has BYU-campus specific references but those aren’t critical to understanding or applying the text’s advice. It is a fabulous and accessible resource for understanding finances, retirement planning, investing, frugality, and teaching money matters to children.
I really appreciated this clear and considerate look at the basics of family finance. I read this book alongside a class I took (by one of the authors) and it was super helpful. The principles contained in this text are easy to understand and make living within your means a lot less stressful of a process.
The only reason I didn't give it five starts is that I gave "To Kill a Mockingbird" five stars, and they aren't on the same level...but they are close. I read this whole book in one day for fun; the same is not true of TKAM.
It's funny that I'm adding a textbook, but I learned so much from this book that it was well worth the time and quite enjoyable to read. Also, I'm proud of the fact that I read every word of this book.
