Callie is fooled by her fiancé and loses everything.
Liam is a billionaire whose grandfather wills to him a resort that looks old and outdated. He wants to tear it down, but his grandfather’s will says Liam must work at the resort before doing anything with it.
Liam meets Callie at the resort. It’s really cute!
It’s totally clean with 2 very mild kiss scenes. Zero language.
I’d read more in this series and more from this author for sure!
This was a really fun book for me to read. I think what made me fall in love with this story were the characters themselves. They were all just really good everyday kind of people. Ones you wanted to get to know and be friends with.
In the first chapter my heart was breaking for Callie to read her ordeal at the bank discovering the loss of her money. She was just so hopeful and positive and then ‘ka-boom!’ her world exploded. Six months later when we see her again she is still a kind, giving, and considerate person. True she has well founded trust issues when it comes to guys but I applaud her character for not becoming embittered toward others.
From Liam’s angle of the story it reminded me of a movie I saw (based on a book of course) “The Ultimate Gift”. Liam had to fulfill his deceased uncle’s wish for him to work 2 weeks at a small resort doing menial jobs. Not only does he have a good work ethic for a billionaire but he also is humble enough to learn from others, ask for advice and for other’s opinions, as well as to put to good use what he has learned. Liam’s character was a breath of fresh air for me compared to other billionaire characters who are often portrayed as arrogant, demanding, or judgmental.
Of course there are some mishaps and misunderstandings for Callie and Liam, but it comes together beautifully in the end. 4-1/2 stars.
Callie Hayes dreams of opening her own custom designed purse outlet and has saved enough to begin operations. When she goes to the bank to withdraw funds to begin operations, she finds that her fiancé, who she had loved and trusted, has disappeared after stealing all her money. He also maxed out her credit cards and took out a second mortgage on her house. She is devastated, having lost everything. Authorities catch the fiancé and send him to jail but cannot recover any of her money. In the meantime, Liam Summers, a billionaire owner of a highly successful worldwide chain of resorts, has inherited a somewhat run-down resort from his deceased uncle. The will requires that he go undercover at the resort as an employee for two weeks without disclosing his identity. If Liam fails to comply with the conditions of the will, he will lose the resort. On his first day posing as Liam Allen, he is assigned to Callie as his trainer. She has been working at the resort for about six months. What follows is an exciting tale of discovery for both Callie and Liam. There are bumps along the way, but, no surprise, they do find their happily ever after. I recommend this work to any who enjoy sweet, clean romances.
Fun romance! It was fun to read and watch Liam and Callie grow together as she overcame past fears and insecurities and he worked out his own insecurities. I love the characters. I enjoyed the story premise. I’m planning now to read more books by Chelsea.
This book was a much needed getaway from the typical angsty romance. I loved the setting of the resort and the lightheartedness to the overall story. I thought this narrator was a pleasure to listen to and she brought an energy to the characters that I really enjoyed.
fun loveable likeable characters, clean sweet romance, nice plot, believable, newbie author to me, so happy to find a great new author, look forward to more from Chelsea soon enough. great cover!
A fun book with likable characters. Perfect setting and sweet clean romance. I felt like it lacked humor that I enjoy in a contemporary romance, but it did bring a smile to my face. Good read!
The Undercover Resort Billionaire: A Falling for You Clean Billionaire Romance Book I is written by Chelsea Hale. This is a wonderful book that is easy to read and follow. It can be read in a short amount of time and yet keeps your interest the entire time you are reading. Callie Hayes believes there is a problem at her bank. She knows she has a substantial savings as she is saving towards opening her own purse company. Therefore, she is completely stunned to find that all her money is gone and her house has a second mortgage on it which has not been paid. She had been swindled by her now ex-fiancé, Michael. She had naively given him access to her accounts and believed he loved her. Instead, he was in on a scheme to launder money and stealing from others. Now, she has only a short time to gather any personal and sentimental objects from her house and leave. The rest would be sold. Luckily, she was found not to be involved in the scheme. At least that was a relief. She finds herself, six months later, working at a small resort on Jekyll Island, Georgia. With all the overtime she was getting, she saw herself in five years picking up where Michael left her. At least Michael was in jail even though she couldn’t receive any of her money back. Liam Summers was covered under with paperwork from the settlement of his Uncle’s will. Unfortunately, now all of Summers Resorts was now part of Summers Corporation. He and his Uncle had worked together and Uncle Dale would be missed. Now all that was left was a personal file. In this file, he finds a letter from his Uncle telling him that he also owned a small resort called the Hideaway. It did not belong to Summer Resorts but was personal. His Uncle stated he was to go to Hideaway, without revealing his identity, and work for two weeks to find the magic in the resort. If he didn’t this, the entire estate would return to the control by their choice. If he stayed the two weeks without revealing his true identity, he would inherit everything. Will Liam manage to fulfill the request or would he give in to the luxuries he missed and resume his identity? Would he find the magic at the resort?
For me this was a 3.5 book. After reading Sayler's story I came to see how Liam's romance came to be... but didn't like it so much as Secrets, Fireworks, and her Billionaire Boyfriend. Callie is duped by her fiancée and robbed of everything she owns. She has to start working for a resort that is a little run down called the Hideaway. After the death of his uncle, Liam becomes owner of the Summers Resorts. But there is a stipulation in the will - he has to go and work incognito 2 weeks at the Hideaway resort owned privately by his uncle and only after that he is to decide what to do with it. Liam is not thrilled - his first thought is to demolish everything and start anew, but he honors his uncles wishes. So when he meets the charming Callie, he cannot tell her who he is - and this is a nice opportunity to see if people may like him for who he is and not for his money. So basically I liked him. but not so much her. And it was cute how Liam and Sayler didn't have a strict boss-employee relationship, but were more like friends and siblings. I saw also this in Secrets, Fireworks, and her Billionaire Boyfriend. Narrative: 3rd person following Callie and Liam Religion: none Sensuality: clean
This is my third read of Hale's, and it didn't really do it for me. I guess she got better at writing billionaire books after this one, because her other ones are way better. Maybe this book wasn't as good as her others because the plot was lacking? 🤷🏻♂️
⚠️ SPOILERS AHEAD ⚠️
Liam is super cool I feel like he never did anything wrong. His assistant Sayler was a refreshing character and she brought life to the story. I liked their friendship. Callie, on the other hand, was annoying. Her whole personality was her dream about purses, and that's it.
👉Callie was so stupid. Sure, she didn't like Liam for his money, but she also made unfair assumptions about him and pushed him away. She wasn't a golddigger, but she didn't like the real him enough to try out a relationship no matter what came their way. She's shallow. Even when Liam wrote out checks and a letter explaining EVERYTHING at the end (he was forced by his Great Uncle's will to stay undercover at the resort for two weeks. He wasn't allowed to tell anyone who he was), Callie was still rude and not understanding at all. 🤦🏻♂️ Only when she realized that Liam was loaded (💰💰💰) and was going to let her sell her purses in his resorts, did she finally agree to giving their relationship a "GO".. 🤦🏻♂️
Callie talked about her dreams way too much and the whole book was extremely repetitive. :(
I didn't make sense that he was able to cut short his training and work at that resort, and still be within stipulations of his great uncle's will to inherit everything. 🤷🏻♂️
I'll still read books from Hale, but only the newest ones. It seems like her earlier work wasn't the best & that she's improved since!
She has dreams, big dreams, and the first guy in her life took advantage of that and scammed her, taking all of her money and leaving her with nothing. Now, she's wary.
He's a billionaire resort owner. His uncle has left him a challenge. Work two weeks at this run down resort in Georgia, find out it's "magic" and the resort empire is his.
She is teaching him the ropes of the resort, but something is off with him. He is attracted to her from the start, but she isn't acting interested, something he isn't used to. Thus begins their dance - should she risk it? Can he break down her barriers? What will she do when she finds out he isn't who she thinks he is?
“The Undercover Resort Billionaire” by Chelsea Hale A Clean Contemporary Billionaire Romance, book 1 in the Falling for You Clean Billionaire Romance series. I was gifted a copy of this audio book via Audiobooks and truly enjoyed my time with Callie Hayes, the first person you meet, Liam Summers, the billionaire CEO, and the personal assistant to Liam. Yes I am partial to clean sweet romance stories. So I might be a tad biased, but this was a fun, easy read, that I just did not want to end. And yes, as fiction is supposed to do, it takes you to places that you might wish to be. And romance that is reserved for dreams… because fiction is ‘dreams/imagination come to life’ for just a little while. Happy Reading !!
Callie had dreams, but a swindling ex-boyfriend stole them, along with her possessions and worst of all, her reputation. Liam had dreams, but after the death of the uncle who had helped him build those dreams, he learned that there were things his uncle hadn't told him. Now Liam and Callie are in an old resort in a major resort area, as both seek to remodel the dreams in the light of what they are learning from one another. Hale builds a fine story on the basis of integrity and what that means. Recommended for readers of clean romance and billionaire romance.
This was a fun, clean story with a touch of intrigue! Callie loses everything, including her home when her con-artist fiancé uses her account for money laundering and other illegal activities. He even took out a second mortgage on her home and skipped town with her life savings. Now she has to start over. As a stipulation to his uncle’s will,Liam has to pretend to be an employee starting from the bottom at a small resort for two weeks, without letting anyone know who he is. Can Callie trust her new trainee who seems to be hiding things, just like her ex fiancé? The narrator did an excellent job! I received a free copy of this audiobook and I am leaving a voluntary review.
Callie was a sweet person. I liked her from the start. I was back and forth on the story. I worried that Liam and his assistant would end up falling in love. I worried that Callie wouldn't be able to get over her reservations before it was too late. The reason I didn't give it a higher rating had to do with that concern. I felt like everything unraveled toward the end, and not in a good way. Callie's reasoning became confusing and muddied. Her character went a little down hill for me. It was still an enjoyable read. Really predictable, but cute. I'll pick up other books by this author. Clean.
A sweet romance. A Cinderella like story. Callie loses everything because her fiance stole her money, put a second mortgage on her house and credit cards in her name. So she has start over again and has a 5 year plan to get her purse line manufacture. But she meets and train Liam a billionaire undercover at the hotel she works at because of his Uncle's will. He thinks he will tear it down but Callie gets him to see the magic of the place. They grow closer and when she tells him about her purse line, he wants to help. Will she forgive him for not telling he is a billionaire?
This was a good read.. The characters were well developed. Although the h had a lot of baggage and trust issues due to things that had happened to her she managed to work through them. The H seemed slightly stumped on his emotional development, perhaps his back story would have explained it. It all worked out in the end. Yes, I recommend this sweet, clean romance.
I've dreamt of reading a book filled with believable characters, witty banter, humorous escapades, sweet slow building romance, and of course a happily ever after...my dream came true with this book! I really enjoyed how determined Callie was to not let her dreams die, and to not let another man steamroll over her. I loved the strategies Liam used to prove the depth of his feelings. This read is definitely worthy of a repeat!
Sorry to say this book got a little boring. It started with promise, but it just did nothing from there until the end. This book should not have been named “Her Dream “ because that was said so many times throughout the book. I did like the characters though and the editing was very good, really didn’t notice any errors, but then I did skip through pages because I was so bored. Sorry.
What a cute twist on a billionaire story. This sweet, clean read was very enjoyable. The owner of state of the art, world class 5 star resorts all over the world, must spend 2 weeks working undercover at the first resort his uncle bought. It wasn't near as classy as the others, but held a magic all it's own and Liam had to try to figure out what it was.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review
Billionaire romance is not my favorite genre but despite that I enjoyed this book. It allowed a woman down on her luck in love and in finances to meet a man that treated her well. At the same time it allowed Liam to meet a woman who didn’t look at him and see dollar signs. But that doesn’t mean that everything is easy or that things didn’t get complicated. Hiding your identity from a woman is not always the best move.
This story is based off of Undercover Boss from TV, except it ends up in a romance. The Boss goes undercover to discover what his Uncle wanted him to see, only he discovers that his uncle wanted him to see something different. Callie is the catalyst to him seeing the dilapidated resort in new eyes. This story is light in the fact that it's like a TV show, but goes more into the depth of feelings, expectations and opens the CEO to that the old can be just as good with new paint.
They fall in love in less than 2 weeks, heroine is rebuilding her trust after 6 months of the fiasco from her ex fiancé. I had a bit of whiplash from that.
I would have preferred to get more supporting characters fleshed out. It’s allows the reader to get insight into the main characters. Instead of saying he’s kind ( to her), a scene where such is displayed would have greater impact to me.

This was a book I stumbled upon. It was a quick read with likable characters. We learned early on what Callie’s dream was - owning her own line of designer purses. And then we heard it over and over again. While it wasn’t horrible, I felt it was too much. All in all it was a sweet story.
I loved the book! It was fun, clean, and unexpected in some places (which I like, it makes it less boring and predictable). The two main characters were great and I really liked all of the details about the resort itself and the work - I thought it was interesting! I would love to read more about Liam and Callie in another story :)
I loved Liam and Callie. Liam is honoring his Uncle's last wish and going undercover at The Hideaway. Callie is trying to save up enough money to design her purse line. She needs to replace what her fiance stole from her. Callie helps Liam see the magic at the older resort. But what will happen when Liam tells Callie who he really is?
A fun story about a billionaire undercover at his recently acquired resort, and a woman who works there trying to recover from her ex-fiance scammer and rebuild her plans for her future. They like each other, but don't want to reveal too much. I really enjoyed the story. I plan to read the other books in this series.
