Having translated "Tne Great Psychologists" to arabic I came to understand the role it played as one of the most important references in the field of psychology and made an impact in this significant discipline.
Unfortunately, however the publishing house, which is known as "The Arab Sciences Publishers" based in Lebanon have received the translation from me in 2012 but has not yet seen the light of day despite the fact that it would serve as an invaluable reference for the psychology departments in the universities and research centres in the middle east.
The content is enriched with a wealth of knowledge not only in psychology but also in the basic medical sciences, neurology and psychiatry, which is why I, as a physician, found the task of translating it to be worthwhile. The fact that it takes into consideration the evolution of science makes it a unique reference that stands out among its sister books and other references in a way that may very well capture the attention of the General as well as the specialist reader.
Beyond a shadow of a doubt a very good read indeed!
This was the first book I ever read specifically about the great psychologists of history and I liked it very much as well as finding it tremendously informative. It's old now (1978) so there may be more updated versions, but this one was really a good read for me and helped cement my desire to become a psychologist.
