3.5 stars

This was such an intriguing story, it genuinely got me hooked. I literally finished this book within one day. Regarding the plot, the plot was very fast paced but I felt like it sometimes was too fast paced. At those moments it felt like the story was all over the place. Also, these scenes usually weren't that elaborate, if those scenes would have been a tad more elaborate, they also would have been even more gripping than they already were.
Regarding the characters, I don't really have complaints about them. I liked that this book is written from different point of views. This really made me connect with the story and the characters.
Lastly, I feel like there should be raised more attention to such practices. It really left an impact on me and I honestly cannot even image being in Rose's shoes.

A tragic story full of emotion. Yet, there was always hope. These women face unspeakable hardships and yet overcome them in stride! The characters are well developed and with the complex relationships and fast paced scenes I could not put this down! This is a tear jerker and not for the faint of heart! How the story was told and written added to its plot and I cannot recommend this novel or this author enough!

5/5 Stars!!!

The story of a young girl torn away from the life she knows into a world that she had no knowledge of. Yet her life was fully encapsulated by it from the moment she was brought into this dark trade of human trafficking.

This story is unique, easy to follow, intriguing, but most of all captivating. There wasn't a moment where I wasn't itching to find out what happened next, or how a conflict was resolved. With characters that built on each other, a plot that turns in amazing and unforeseen ways takes hold of the reader's attention and doesn't let go.

The idea that there are things occurring in our world today that could be even remotely close to the events that unfold in A Delicate Flower gives me goosebumps and a new level of appreciation to those who dedicate there lives to stopping and bringing to justice those who partake in human trafficking.

Overall this book is a triumph in not only bringing to light the horrors that occur day to day behind closed curtains in the real world, but also having the storytelling element that keeps reading enjoyable and made me feel accomplished from having finished the novel. No empty feelings here, only a sense of awareness and the satisfaction of completing a good read.

As stated at the start, 5/5. Would recommend this to any friends or family who would enjoy a dramatic thriller with a focus on a relevant topic in the world today!!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a BETA read and review.

This is not the first book that I have read by Chelsea but this is a big change of pace based on her previous works.

A Delicate Flower discusses the horribly uncomfortable subject of sex trafficking. The main character is kidnapped and forced into a sick world making money off CHILDREN. The reader is taken behind closed doors to see into every dark corner and to lay on a cold cement floor with one of the main characters.

Each chapter is written from the view of a different character and that was my favorite thing about it. Some of my favorite authors like Fred Mustard Stewart wrote books in this way.

The plot is well thought out and the situations and characters are realistic. As a mother, there were multiple moments throughout the book where I cringed and felt sadness for the characters. The twists at the end of the book give the reader the closure needed to end the story.

Chelsea is able to write a very yucky subject respectfully and honestly.
I applaud Chelsea for choosing to write about a subject many would avoid and for motivating her readers to want to stop the violence.

5 out of 5 stars for me!

I genuinely enjoy this author’s work! I love how her writing immediately draws you in!
I learned from this book and appreciate that there were links to places to seek more information! I can’t imagine the feeling of being in those conditions and hardships these people face. I hope there is a better understanding and way for these issues to be resolved!

With that being said i will say the book overall was very good, and that you learn a lot about the topic at hand. Plot wise for this was honestly a little too fast paced for my liking. Don't get me wrong the first few pages had me hooked instantly and i would find myself constantly thinking about it whilst i went about my day. but as i turned every page i would find myself wishing there was more, like i craved maybe more pages, a little more exposition, more elaboration about specific things, i wanted this to be a little more meatier! That could just be me because sometimes i’m just plain greedy and have a million questions, wishing i could tap at the authors brain for instant gratification. Like in certain parts with each character shift, as the story is told from different points of view which was great i like seeing various interactions and happenings from each character.

This was not an easy read because of the subject matter, yet I didn't want to put it down. It grabbed my interest and held it to the very end. It was fast paced, beautifully written and full of unexpected twists. Kudos to the author for tackling such a tough topic with compassion and creativity.

This is a fast pace novel with twists and turns everywhere. I would fine myself so angry at characters hating them more that I read. This was full of suspense and excitement from every page. I read this book in a day I couldn't put it down. I always think of characters and the description I would see them in a movie. This book I could see who would play these characters and how their personalities would come to life. I cannot wait for book two on this and see what happens next. The ending left it
open for so much more

I have a lot of things to say about this book, but first of all let me tell you guys that it's not a book for everyone. Why? Because not everyone likes the genre, and that's okay, but if you do like books that have this psychological thriller kind of vibe and is emotional and thought provoking, then this IS the book fo you. That been said... I loved it!

If you are following Chelsea's work, you know that this is the first novel she published, the previous books were poems. I'm very happy to see all of the hard working she put in this book and how she has developed her writing style in this novel.

This book made me cry sometimes, it made me almost scream that some characters, it made me be angry with Rose, it made me scare, it made me want the characters happiness... overall it made me emotional. And that was because I was invested in the story. The author's ability to connect with us via the characters' lives, emotions, actions or thoughts/words was that made me feel, from page one until the very end of the novel.

Another thing I liked was that the chapter followed two characters. Yes, Rose is the main character, and I wouldn't care if I just read a book in her perspective, but the fact that Chelsea gave us Joyce's chapters made me connect more with Rose. And seriously, at some point I want to beat the hell out of Joy and I was confused because I didn't know if I should thrust her or not. That's a will done thrilling aspect to me.

And remember me talking about the fact that the author has poetry books? Well, another thing I loved about this book and that it may explain why I loved it so much is the melody. Chelsea's poetry has this melody to it that take us on a journey... a journey through our souls, lives and dreams. And I want applaud her for taking that same melody that made her writing style hers and put it in this book too.

Sometimes a melody doesn't have to be happy and up-beating for me to love the song or the storyline in the book. Sometimes we have to listen or read carefully and open our hearts to the melody of the rain as much as the sound of the beach. So, yeah... Did this book meant something to me? Yes, it did.

It made me think, it made me feel and it made me sad but also hopeful for a good turn of events for everyone that is in this situation. I can't say I understand because I don't. I really don't. I have never been in this kind of situation. But this books felt real to me, and I know the world can be even crueler than this book shows it, and that's the sad part.

Does the book have room for improvement? No. It's the author that can improve. Chelsea wrote this book and that's it. In the next one she will have learn another melody and she will add that to that book, but this novel is a complete album and it is what it is. The bad, the ugly and the hope that never ends.

I genuinely really enjoyed this book. I have never read a book which focus on such a sensitive
topic. Human trafficking and slavery has been around for centuries. The author takes a part of this world and makes us explore through her stunning writing. Chelsea's writing just evoke all the emotions and makes you feel things.

I loved the main character, Rose. The characters were so dense that you see and realize what this world does to people. They try to make the best decisions to protect themselves. They may seem selfish at time but it's kind of rational to think that way when you are in such a environment.
I felt the characterization was the best thing about this book.

The story proceeds really quickly. I felt it was too fast paced at times but the plot twist were mind blowing. You see where the story is going but than it takes an whole another turn. I loved how everything were connected to each other.

I just wished we could have gotten more from the characters, the world because it was Definitely interesting to read but it got over too quickly. Some scenes could have been more focused on to give the reader a full picture of what was happening.

But, I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who wanna read a book on such important topics but don't want anything that's too alarming. Go ahead and grab yourself a copy
