**Broken Stern should be read before Vacant Shore**

In Pine Island, FL, what floats on the surface is different than what swims below.
Ellie is no longer with the DEA, but Ringo remains at large, and Ellie finds that she can't stay off the hunt.

And when an old adversary comes back for revenge, Ellie discovers the crosshairs are much bigger than she could have imagined.

But the truth will be found.

Even if she has to sink to find it.

Jack Hardin

Jack Hardin currently lives in Arlington, TX, with his stunning wife and five kids. He grew up in an Army family and spent half his childhood living in Germany, traveling all over Europe prior to the fall of the Iron Curtain. At nine years old he walked through Checkpoint Charlie and into East Berlin just one year before the Berlin Wall came down. He holds a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo, is proficient with bo staff and nunchucks, and has taught women's self-defense.

Those alone do not make him awesome, but it all sounds really cool.

You’ll find Jack’s books to be in the same vein as Wayne Stinnett, Dawn Lee McKenna, and Randy Wayne White. In other words...dig in...you’re about to be seriously entertained.

Jack is driven by grace, the bedrock of his Christian faith. Shoot him an email and let him know what you think of his books. Or to give him your opinion of the moon landing, or whether or not you think it's a sin to squeeze the toothpaste tube from the middle.

After reading all 3 of the prior books in the series and the prequel, I wondered how the heck Jack Hardin could ever tie up all the loose ends. Amazingly, he wove all of them into a great tapestry in a very exciting and believable way. THIS is why he's such a highly ranked new author with such a bright future ahead. I don't know who I'm more excited for, Jack, or all the rest of us that will get to read his upcoming works!

I'm trying really hard to avoid any spoilers here, because it would be so easy to slip, and he always left us with so many questions in the previous 3 books. I'll just say this: all your questions will be answered, you'll have a great time finding out the answers, and I can't wait for his next book! Well done, Jack!!!

one of those thrillers that is hard to say too many things about without spoiling the book. Suffice it to say there are several twists and turns in this, the final of the four book arc. One needs to start at the beginning to come close to enjoying what Hardin has written.

As all previous novels of Ellie O'Conner books, this novel is filled with love, hate, espionage and suspense which whets any avid reader's appetite. If you don't enjoy one episode just hang in there, as the next one will certainly be pacifying.. Great selection of stories in all of this series, but please, start with book one, or you will be completely our of kilter!

All of these magnificent stories are definitely five star masterpieces, but this is outstanding. I am definitely awaiting the next exciting adventure of Ellie and her crew. The author, Mr. Jack Hardin, does any outstanding job in his selection of characters, and the storylines are successfully entertaining episodes from beginning to end. Never a dull moment throughout the entire stories of Ellie and her associates.
If you are not totally satisfied with Ellie's current situation just keep reading and she assuredly will fill you expectations before you have time to complain. I have had the opportunity to read many spy novels, but each and every one of these adventurous from have certainly been entertaining. There is an all time high of never ending suspenseful episodes to appease the most demanding reader's undivided attention
I, without hesitation, recommend story, as well as all previous versions of the Ellie O'Conner series to all walks of life readers. I can assure all of you lovers of exceptionally well defined espionage escapades will definitely find the stories definitely impressive. Too, there are several heartwarming adventures throughout the entire story! Try these stories, please, as I am sure, regardless of your preference of stories, you will most definitely be satisfied!

I read all 4 of the books in this series. I kept on reading because I did like the story, although this final entry felt rushed and left me with too many questions. Because of the genre, I can overlook some of the less believable events but too many of the characters did not behave consistently. Also, the secondary plot about Ellie's CIA career, and the later assassinations of her team members were not adequately developed, and seemed to exist only to ramp up the drama. Last, but hardly least, the writing frequently set my teeth on edge. Besides the usual mistakes of punctuation and grammar, this guy consistently misuses words like garnish when he means garner, nautilus when he means nautical, callused when he means callous, meretricious when he means malicious, and perhaps my favorite, his description of erupting smoke as indignant smoke. Adding insult to injury, he several times has a character deliberately misuse a word in dialogue, then has another character make fun of the other for that misuse. Made me mention the pot and the kettle out loud more than once.

In Vacant Shore, the series continues with Ellie O’Connor, who is CIA trained and excellent at what she does. Although no longer with the CIA she receives a coded message from her old secret CIA Team 99 that someone has been sent to kill her. With her boyfriend Tyler she sets a trap, and it is actually Tyler who captures the surprise killer. But Ellie is still determined to find Ringo, the elusive drug boss. She follows leads that put her in great peril, and is saved by a person she doesn’t even know. The drug lord’s business goes under, but Ellie’s family maybe has a brighter future. Twists in the story include a good person discovered as bad, and a bad person who goes good. It was a good resolution to this four-book series.

Excellent Storyteller

Jack Hardin is now my favorite author and Ellie O’Conner is my favorite protagonist. Jack brings the characters alive and you sense their connection with each other. This series of four books had a lot of suspense and Jack tied it all up at the end. Very well written.
Potential SPOILER...
Although the story was fantastic, I was disappointed that one of the truly bad guys remained untouched. A drug dealer, even one doing it for a good cause, is still a drug dealer doing a lot of harm. Perhaps he won’t be spared in a later book. I’d like to see him get what he’s dished out to others.

So whenever we start a new season for a show we like (e.g. Game of Thrones) my wife will say “where did we leave off? Who is where and what happened to them?” This book felt like that for me. I read the first three but it’s been a little while (and lots of books in between) and here the author just picks up where he left off. We don’t get reminders of who was whom. So it took a bit for me to put everyone back in place in my mind. Other than that it was a good book. You HAVE to read these in order and preferably back to back. Otherwise you may be a bit lost. No way you can start here, in this series of books.

Another 👍great read by Jack Hardin. Kept me reading when, alas, I should have been doing other things. ---And several surprises once again. New readers should start at the first of the series. Believe me, you won't regret it

. Full of suspense all the way keeping the reader guessing. Since I am familiar with Florida's Gulf Coast it was that much more enjoyable.

Worth the time

Never predictable, always entertaining. The author has spun a tale surrounded by characters that you will come to know by on a first name basis. A great series.

Lots of action and suspense makes this another great book in the Ellie O'Conner series. There were a lot of plots and twist, even some shocking new information. Couldn't put it down.

Vacant shore

Excellent series with this one finally tying it altogether in a very entertaining manner. Easy to get lost in the subplots but soon explained in a clear, succinct telling.

A very good read. I’ve now completed 4 of Jack Hardin’s books. I was pleasantly surprised when he referenced another of my favorite authors who writes books in the same general geographic region, Randy Wayne White’s ‘Doc Ford’ novels. Great writing Jack.

It was a delightful change to read a tightly woven story with no language or sex! While you might think that would leave a boring tale, there is enough violence at intense levels to give you all the captivating intrigue you need!

The Jack Hardin books are getting better all the time. Kind of reminds me of the Reacher novels in a way.
