Imagine living with a stutter, where some days the simplicity of a sentence or just to say your name is a struggle. It lowers your self-esteem, causing you to push people away and hide from who you really are. It affects the decisions you make as a mother, a wife, a best friend. Fake Escape is womens fiction about a woman, Michaela, who struggles with stuttering. She accidentally begins living a double life when she meets a man online and falls into pretending to be someone else, when the lies go deeper, finding it harder to get out of. Fake Escape follows her journey of finding herself and finding self acceptance and the affect it has on her family and friends and every day life.
I absolutely loved this book; it was a fast and enjoyable read. It's one of those stories that keeps you eagerly turning the pages to find out what happens next.
Unlike anything I've read before, it delves into unique narratives and offers insights into topics I hadn't explored or considered deeply before. Clearly, I enjoyed it immensely, as I finished it in just three days.
I cannot say enough positive things about this book and Author. A very relatable read where each reader will take away something unique. A modern day look at love, making readers question longevity and how everything loses it’s “spark” after time and how the steaks are exponentially raised with the introduction of children. I cannot commend Natalie more on her first book. A delightful read from page one and prepare to set aside a good day or two as you won’t be doing much else than reading this stellar piece!
