Beastmaster #1

Beastmaster: Symbiosis

An alien cat turned me into a superweapon.

I was homeless on the streets of Third York when it happened. Then the military arrived and gave me a choice. Enlist or die.

The next thing I knew, I was fighting giant robots at the Xenoforce Academy's boot camp. Figuring out superpowers and energy levels was hard enough, but I had to deal with a mind-reading alien princess, a team of gorgeous women, and a femme fatale in charge of the whole operation.

Oh, and a galactic conspiracy is threatening all of humanity.

It's up to me and my new feline friend to set things right. A civil war's brewing on the homeworld of our allies from space, and hidden traitors are sabotaging Earth's defenses. We'll have to gain the trust of my hot teammates and —

Did I mention how tight their bodysuits are?

Warning: May not be suitable for all audiences. This book contains sensual and comedic adult scenes of questionable taste, anime-style harem situations, and gamelit/litrpg mechanics.

I'm a long-time fan of fantasy, anime, and video games with a special interest in the growing genres of LitRPG and GameLit. In 2018, I left an unsatisfying industry and started writing fiction novels to see if I could reach people in my own way. Whether you're tired, hurting, or just searching for the next good tale, I hope my stories can make you smile and forget your worries for a little while longer.

THIS IS NOT A HAREM.

The MC is a virgin. He's also the only virgin. Pretty much everyone is fucking everyone. Except for the MC. Why this is getting such great reviews is beyond me. The writing itself is good and the grammar decent but the story is horrendous and the characters unlikeable.

In one instances he "listens" by proxxy through the door as one of his classmates and haremettes gives an instructor a blowjob. Later he watches by proxxy as she gets railed by him. It's all okay, because "he doesn't want to cockblock" anyone.

It's neither LitRPG nor harem.

Ok it was kind of entertaining, but the whole time the mc wasn't focused enough and he thought more about the girls than the situation he was in lol.

It accomplishes its goal but . .

The author says he wants to bridge anime and LitRPG harems and he does so while the general style of writing and pacing is more for a western audience. The characters are more akin to anime or light novel with one touching moment before they fall into love with the MC. And it has the semi PG aspect the anime has with little to no sexual scenes going beyond casually uncomfortable.
Overall this balance is nice and appeals to both audiences but I worry that it'll get tiresome by the next book. I feel like he should push it more towards one genre or the other preferable Anime side because the other way would require some major changes to the MC or his love interests.
But then again I could be entirely wrong and it could be perfect as it is either way I know I'll read the next book to see how Hunters story progresses.

Book was very enjoyable and engaging to read. The MC has a good growth rate in learning and engaging with the story.

Not so good

Well written, however, the plot is extremely simple and juvenile. Not a real harem, simply more boys than girls. Adult situations don't match the juvenile plot and characters.

Yes, a harem LitRPG. The book flagrantly advertises what it's about in the very title. So clearly, I'm not the intended audience here.

And that's okay, I can appreciate a good book while keeping those things in mind. But if a consistently perverted (but good hearted) main character that ogles every female character of slight importance will annoy you, then this isn't for you.

Story

The story about aliens clashing together with humans caught in the middle is actually fairly good, engrossing even. The battles (and there are many) are well done with magical techniques and brawling.

Slightly spoilery ahead: Dustin, the main character, telepathically bonds with an alien cat. Their unique relationship adds a twist to the story this author explores, if a bit creepily.

This book isn't too long, so presumably there'll be more in this series. While the pervertedness of the main character is a drawback for me, and I'd personally preferred the book to be different than that, that is afterall a clear part of the book's genre.

Would I recommend this book?
Yes, if you're at all interested in LitRPGs or heavy action books, if you can look past the 'harem' qualities of Beastermaster: Symbiosis.

Damn Man, This was way amazing than I thought

Freaking awesome plot.
There is a war b/w humans and advanced robotic aliens called mechanics. So basically humans are fucked up. But the chimerics aka Beasts (also aliens) help humans by bonding.
MC bonds with a rare royality cat beast. And thrown into training with multiple beatiful women.
Even though this is labeled as Harem, there are no sex scenes.
But the story is too freaking good.
All other characters & the beasts are cool
Definitely worth a read!
When is the sequel coming, I will eagerly await for it.

Not just another get boosted, take the girls, save the world book

I do not give 5 star rating easily. Dustin, the hero does get boosted, conscripted into the military into a squad of super-sexy superhero girls and save the world. However, Dustin shows moral values and loyalty. His character develops throughout the book. The girls also show growth and development. There are plot twists that lift this book out of the normal harem-out story. I enjoyed reading the book and was never bored with Dustin or his problems. I recommend this book for an exciting read.

From Zero To Hero

Dustin is a down on his luck foster child (17 years old) who has been framed and kicked out of his foster home. The military gives him a choice, join or die. Aliens have attacked mankind. Since he bonded with an alien cat, he has become a beastmaster, the only hope mankind has against the alien enemy. I like the action, humor, and tentative romance. How much fun is it to train with beautiful female squad mates. I look forward to the next book.

This read less like a Lit RPG novel and more like a superhero story. The foster family situation is unfortunately familiar, Dustin feels like a teen at a new school, and his partnership with Zoe is ... strange. The only point that feels like a Lit RPG is how Dustin is able to view his new abilities and manipulate them. This is very like James Owens' relationship with his (her?) AI in Jessie Wolf's "Death's Own Daughter" series. This looks like the series will be a fun read.

Interesting idea but horrendous characters

Every man and woman in this book is a whore. The main character and almost all females act like they take viagra every single morning. All they think of is sex, even if relationships began in the next book, I highly doubt there will be romance. Disgusting.

Finding gold

I got through multiple books a week looking for those rare few that draw me in and I just can't put it down, this was one of them. While the book was a little short it was not for lack of story, as the writer left a lot of room for more books which I'm really looking forward to. Keep up the great work!

Great start

Wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this book. What I got was a pretty good book with action and humor. There are beginnings of romance and that can be frustrating but I think the author said a great job of making it feel more realistic. Will buy the next book in series.

Nice take on the LitRPG story type

I really liked the book. I was worried that it would turn into porn with the 2 men and multiple women. It does have some off screen sex scenes. The main character has not had sex and the reasons are valid. He also messes up when trying to talk to some of the ladies - just like real life. I will buy the next book.

Great read

Really great first book and a great read. Great MC who isn’t overpowered and is still in the process of learning his powers as the book progresses. Looking forward to more in this series. And more from this author.

Exciting start

This book is non stop. The MC doesn't get any downtime. Plenty of hotties and cool aliens. Then add some cloak and dagger to the mix and presto!!! Lots of action. Will get the second book asap.

Wow!

I love reverse harem but this is a really well thought out potential harem. Hunter is surrounded by strong beautiful women who go after what they want but it's not a guarantee that he will snag them. I can't wait to see where this goes.

First book, WOW!

I picked up the book because of the title. Then I read it non-stop until I finished it. I didn't know it was a first book until I read the authors note. Great job, keep them coming.

Fun

A enjoyable read with a nice time, definitely a change from the worst day ever to something totally unexpected. Elements of Beast Master and Dr. Who combines to make sure the action flows.

A fun quick read.

Horny teen melds with a alien lifeform. Then thrown into training with a mix of equally horny teens. Alien looking for traitors and devolves from there. It's a quick fun read, but won't be on the masters list anytime soon.

Fun quick story

This was a fun quick story. The author did a great job setting up the main character without taking a lot of time with it. Decent action and details. Already downloaded and started the next one.

O.k.

I don't understand why a author wants to make his hero a whip always thru his story and afraid of women to me its stupid and a downer for his story?
