Allie and Micah are sexy together. I like the little peeks into Micah's dominant side. I like Allie's confidence and her personality in general. While I enjoyed reading this, I found the build up over this secret Micah hah to be so huge that I thought we were in for this earth-shattering surprise. When we finally find out what it is, it was anti-climatic. Then there's the fact that he has a submissive on a warming bench whose relationship you don't really see resolved. Of course, one can make assumptions but why not be crystal about such an important part? The story felt too rushed in some parts and not enough in others. I would still like to know what happens next. Safety: Micah puts a sub relationship on hold when he meets Allie. The OW shows up later in the story and causes unintentional drama. Her involvement in the story felt out of place for me and I didn't like it. No OM or sharing. Neither are Vs. They use condoms. No rape/abuse. There is pushing away.

'Bound Beneath His Pain' by Stacey Kennedy is book one in the "Dirty Little Secrets" series. This book does have a very small cliffhanger that set you up for the next couple for book two. Nothing major but just wanted to mention it.

I not sure I can say enough about this book! It had the hot alpha male hero Micah Holt who hasn't done a relationship since he was engaged and it ended badly. Micah has always felt guilty for his fiancé and what happened to her after she found out his sexual preference. So Micah has been only in non permit relationships except for a women that knows the score on what he needs.

Allie Bennett is the women that is trying to make it on her own and go by the lesson her mother taught her. That money does not mean happiness and that people are what really matter. Allie parents died when she was around 15 years old. Her older half-brother who she hadn't really know took her in and tired to get her to be open with his money and the rich lifestyle. But even though Allie and her brother grew close she wanted to be her own person.

Allie and Micah meet when Micah is taking over a Real state company that Allie works at. When they meet they are both attracted to each other and although Allie tries to fight it, Micah wants to go forward with it.

This deals with Micah wanting Allie but he doesn't think he can became what he thinks she needs. Allie has a hard time getting past him being well off and his sometimes cold treatment.

Really hot, emotional page turner! Loved it!

This is the story of Allie and Micah. A story for two persons with secrets.

Well, I don't know how to explain how I feel this book and to be fair. The writing was ok and the plot was interesting. When I was reading this book, I had as many positive as negative feelings! The story was told by a dual POV and it was nicely done.

On the good side, I have to mention that there was a very sensitive side in this book that touched me deeply. The last chapters really effected me. Micah was wonderful to read when he was trying to win Allie and Allie was fighting for her relationship with Micah in a really nice way! Micah has also a soft side that surprised me few times during this book. Their interactions could be numb or super intense!

The problem was that I've read the blurb and I was waiting for a bit of a darkness in the hero's ways and needs and I didn't see anything like that. Micah is in DC and he has a shady sex club but I've read nothing about what happens there. He also has a secret that is related to his dark side, but when I found out his secret I couldn't understand why Micah considers it so bad. Their relationship wasn't insta love but it moved so fast that I couldn't always follow.

The end of the book was nice. There was also an epilogue that prepares us for the next book and it was so strong that I would like to read it as well!

I would recommend this book but please be aware that there will be no BDSM tension and details. It is a nice romance book.

This was a hot and slightly dark read. There is a nice amount of romance but there isn't a lot of room for lightheartedness or humor in BBHP. If you think the cover is hot the scenes between Micah and Allie are liable to make you melt into a blissful puddle of satisfaction. Yeah, the smexy times are that good!

The author definitely started the first in the series with a strong group of characters and just enough info to keep you curious about what's in store next.. That being said, I still found this one a hard one to rate.

What I liked:
Micah is a complex man, I felt his need to be special for Allie to be endearing and sweet. He recognizes Allie as someone that would calm his darkness and he sets out to claim her. Very alpha caveman here - but it worked. He's a self made billionaire who craves control in all aspects of his life so when Allie, a girl so unlike anyone he's met burst through his walls, Micah doesn't fight it. He embraces her and he woos her pretty damn good.

Allie was also not your typical h. No blushing virgin or inexperienced sheltered girl here. She was a strong woman who didn't let him call all the shots in their relationship. I liked that she didn't draw out the drama and instead accepted Micah and fought for their relationship just as hard. These two really were in sync with each others wants and needs.

The physical connection is definitely there and if you've read the blurb you know this has BDSM and Dom/sub vibes. This isn't the darkness I was referring to. This part was actually pretty light in the kink department. Smoking hot and naughty but it's not anything dark or OTT. I felt it was done with the right amount of spice. The sex was borderline kinky, pretty rough with some dirty talk and Micah definitely demands complete control but it wasn't anything that made me uncomfortable.

This kind of leads me to the stuff that left me undecided about the MCs.

What I didn't like:
The drawn out reveal to his secret - in this day an age it just seemed weird he would be so reluctant to explain things to Allie. Which brings me to Clara - his dead ex-fiance - I get that this tormented him but why couldn't he realize that Allie was completely different? I don't get how he could share with Juliet but not the woman he claimed to love? He planned to continue lying to Allie (obviously not learning from his mistake with Clara) which leads me to believe they would have not lasted long.

And lastly, Micah's relationship with Juliet.

Overall it was an okay read, maybe a little more development between the MCs would have solidified their relationship. I don't think Holt needed to wax on so much regarding Juliet, especially since she only makes a few sparse appearances. Once I read his thoughts and got the gist of his past relationship with her, it kind of put a damper on this supposed intense emotional pull he felt for the h.

Insta-love just didnt feel believable. Ended with a HFN with talk of marriage.

A new series from this author who has made quite a stir recently with her Club Sin series. The Dirty Little Secrets books seem to feature four bdsm clubs owned by men who call themselves the Dominants Council. Four powerful dominant men who understand power and aren't afraid to use it!
So this the first pairs up Micah Holt with Allie Parker and from their first meeting there's a tension that just oozes through. Micah would dearly love to explore what's between them but Allie has a history that means the idea of being a rich mans plaything is the last thing she needs. Yet Micah breaks through her barriers as Allie learns more about him but both have secrets which will really upset their particular apple cart !
If I'm brutally honest I didn't really become enamoured by either of these characters . Micah constantly fears the darkness that's within him and yet he didn't strike me as particularly dark in any way. In point of fact I thought he carried more sadness than anything else. Admittedly Micah has a taste for kink but it's not graphic or really rough in my opinion. Allie is a loyal sort which I liked but I never quite understood why Micah saw her as innocent. Bright, loving and perceptive yes but not particularly innocent. I think that's my issue here as Micah seemed to forget that bdsm practices are accepted far more now than previously and exploring ones sexuality is not a no no anymore.
Ok bottom line is I liked the set up here as there are three more members of the Dominants Council to come out and play. This wasn't a hard dirty erotic story and I think many will find this a bit well frankly tame. Perhaps there will be more suspense in the next story as for me this book just lacked something. Two people with issues find each other and begin to heal with an epilogue that's very interesting indeed!

At the tail end of the Club Sin Series we were given a clue about the DC... and some powerful players in the world of BDSM – Bound Beneath His Pain is the first book in the Dirty Little Secrets Series that kicks off the story of the men of the DC.

Micah Holt acquires a small residential real estate firm to aid in building his empire but finds so much more as he takes on Allie, top agent for the company. He is suddenly overtaken with a need to have her – but Micah has secrets that he isn’t ready to reveal just yet. If ever.

Allie knows how power and money destroys love. This is her reason for denying part of who she is. But she is starting to realize that this billionaire is so much more than she expected.

I enjoyed this book but I hate to say that it felt far more 50ish than I would have liked. Not so much in the themes but it’s hard to explain. It just sort of had that vibe to it. That was really the only downside to this book though.

I enjoyed both characters and I loved the peek into the relationships of the future books in this series. I loved the Club Sin characters and how this author was able to give us a kinky romance but that the story always stayed a bit softer & sweeter than just an erotic story. I think it was a great start to a series that I am sure to love as I continue on with it.

This was excellent! I was hooked from the start with great characters and an interesting and exciting story line. I couldn't put it down!

I thought Allie and Micah were fantastic. I seriously loved Allie and her strength, determination, and her challenging ways. Micah was wonderful. The more I learned about him, the more I fell in love with him. When these two meet, sparks fly! I thought they had excellent chemistry. Love Allie and Michah coming together and the ups and downs they experienced. Neither are as the other expected and it creates serious heat and a nice amount of drama. I thought there was really great character development and awesome pace. I couldn't read it fast enough!

There were so many great details learned about both of them but Micah, he was awesome. So sweet and caring but also dominant and passionate. He had some past demons he was fighting and I love that Allie with all her strength was right there for him. I wonderful story of healing and love. I adored those emotional and vulnerable moments from both of them, really making me feel and getting wrapped up in their lives.

I liked all the characters that were introduced. The epilogue was excellent, making me extremely excited for the next story. Cannot wait!

I loved the Club Sin series by Stacey Kennedy and I was really exited to read this story from her new series. I think she knocked it out of the park with this contemporary romance. Great writing, characters and build. A nice amount of drama and tension and wow with the heat. It was a great mix! Honestly, I thought it was the perfect blend of everything I adore in a story. Loved it!

Bound Beneath His Pain is the first book in the new series “Dirty Little Secrets” by Stacey Kennedy. This is my first read by this author. This read was a billionaire/BDSM romance but there was actually no BDSM in it. The hero resents his dominant side and in 95% of the book, he is trying to fight it. This is more of a damaged hero romance than a hardcore BDSM book.

Micah Holt is the gorgeous billionaire and owner of the real estate company HOLT. Along with that, secretly he is a member of the DC or the Dominant’s Council, which comprises of four rich guys owning four sex clubs in San Francisco. He is a notorious playboy as painted by the media but there is more beneath his carefree exterior. Micah is in one word: BROKEN. He is fighting huge inner demons and he has never let anyone close enough to heal him. Micah has dark and kinky preferences in sex but without owning what he wants, he RESENTS himself for his choices. I was a little frustrated with the guy. He was blowing up his problems more than they actually were. Micah had huge DADDY ISSUES, which is not sexy at all. He has kept on indulging in the BDSM lifestyle (he owns a sex club, for Christ’s sake) but he still thinks that it is something bad and repulsive. Micah’s lack of being up front with Allie and hurting her again and again got a little repetitive.

Allison Parker is a very sweet and compassionate girl. She is very forgiving person given how Micah treats her after she confronts him with his secret. During their interaction in the office after the gala night, i wanted to punch Micah. So, it’s safe to say i liked her better than Micah. She was accepting and very supportive. She tackles Micah’s demons with love and compassion.

I have to mention Micah’s ex Clara. She is a prude and a very selfish person to erase her guilt by doing what she did. I won’t give off any spoilers but that character really made me angry. She is portrayed as a sweet and innocent girl but whatever maybe the reason the way she treated Micah was unacceptable (especially when she claims that she loves him).

As for the story, there was nothing new in it. There are various billionaire/BDSM romances out there, so a new book in this genre needs to be a little different to stand out. This read was the same old. From the very first chapter there is a spark between the MCs and then the girl is fighting it and the guy is relentless in pursuing her, and finally the girl cannot hold off any more and then end up in bed. A little build up in their romance would have been great. I felt that the read was lacking in many front and rushed at times. Micah’s lack of communication creates unnecessary drama. The story picks up from the 45% mark. There were little twists that peeked my interest at the second half of the story and the initial groundwork for the next romance: Darrius and Taylor’s was quite interesting.

This read was not that exciting but this series could be quite interesting. I am thinking that each of the DC members will get a book. I would love to follow this series.

-Micah and Allie have good chemistry and I actually like the setup, if I'd been expecting a straightforward contemporary. The cat and mouse game they play, the way Allie pushes Micah away, was smart and I understood her hesitation in getting into a romantic relationship with her boss.

-However for a BDSM story, not so much, as there’s really little to be found. This is a spinoff of a BDSM series, and it’s about four dominant men who are friends and each own BDSM clubs, so call me crazy but I was expecting more BDSM than there was. The title of the series seems to indicate that BDSM is the dirty little secret and leading towards these men finding their loves away from the scene? Not sure but wasn’t what I was expecting.

-The angst felt a bit contrived at times, the prose is a bit stiff in the beginning, and occasionally there are some awkward phrasing, but overall the story and the series has potential.

description
I liked it. I would have liked to have seen this with a stronger identity - either more emotional development for a straight contemporary, or more BDSM to really delve into the kink side of things. It was in the middle of the road, and ultimately, so is my rating.

2.5 Stars. Have you ever walked or drove down a trail that has been gone over so many times that there are deep ruts in places from where others have gone before? Well, that was how I felt about this book. The billionaire businessman with kinky tastes in sex. It's been done...to death. The story is written competently enough; but there's nothing new here, absolutely nothing. Worse, the author has liberally cherry-picked from every conceivable author of this genre out there; particularly Sylvia Day and the Fifty Shades books. I don't even read much of this genre, and I kept coming across things that I'd read in other books.

There was a great deal of word and phrase repetition throughout the book; as well as scenes that went on and on, then circled back around and started all over again. Also, all the book time spent ruminating about Micah's 'deep' dark secrets that he keeps from Allie; and oft-mentioned demons and the 'true depth of his pain' that he has was laughable...and bordered on the ridiculous. There was really nothing to his 'demons, pain, and secrets'. It was so light on the kink scale, that it is stuff most of us have tried with our partners at one time or another.

Here's to hoping Darius has more to offer when he gets his book, but I doubt I'll be there. I fear it will be more of the same old, same old.

What a great start to a new series! I feel like I have waited forever for this book....but it was well worth it!
I have to say that this author is one of my top faves. All of her previous books...loved them....but this book was different. I loved it just the same and just as much but can I ever see how this author has grown as a writer. This book was slightly different, slightly more. I hung on every word as usual, I needed more the whole time. This book was hot as hell but I expected nothing less. It will be a huge undertaking for me to have to wait for the next book. I want it yesterday! SK why do you insist on doing this to me???

Soooooo hot!

Yes, that is all I can think about when I think about this book. Loaded with delicious heat and an amazing male lead in Micah, you can feel the intensity just rolling off of him.

With flashes of darkness in his past, he tries to control his deepest desires but Allie is breaking down barriers he wants to control.... including her.

Sensual, delectable, and so damn hot, this story include fringes of BDSM but loads of passion and fire that will suck you in. I want more and Stacey Kennedy is just to one to feed that addiction!

"Bound Beneath His Pain" is the first in Ms Kennedy's Dirty Little Secrets series and if you enjoyed any of Club sin books, you will enjoy these.

Micha Holt, billionaire realestate Mogul, has been dominating the realestate market and eating up,the competition in addition to being a silent owner of one of the four major BDSM clubs ad sitting in the DC council, but that is his private life The side of him that he guards carefully. This strong Dominant is about to meet the one person I. Years to break throigh his dominant exterior.
Holy has just aquired Richardson realestate with the intention of bringing on their top sales people to Holts new high end home sale division and close the rest . Enter Allie Parker( Bennet) and the instant attraction is simply put electrifying ! Micah goes from all business to trying to figure out how get this strong women under him and submitting to his desires. Allison( Allie) does not want a man like Micah though, she wants a man who will put her first, be present at dinners, be in the same bed in the morning, have breakfast together and she knows Micah's type after all her half brother Darius is just like him, running his business and making his next million is the center of his life.
Micah find himself making concessions, just to please Allie, such as not closing down Richardson realestate and keeping on employees he was going to release ,in hopes of making headway with her .
When he finally get the date he wants , he ruins it by leaving the next morning and letting the maid tell Allie he has left, blowing his chance at something more.
Micah however winds up suffering possibly more that Allie, because she is prepare to walk away and deal with it, but Micah feels the loss to the depth of his soul; Allie brings a sense of calmness and warmth to Micah that he has not felt in years , but he is keeping secrets from Allie, secrets that have shaped and molded him into who he is, some very painful ones at that !
Will these two with the sizzling attraction and hot sex be able to make this work? Will Micha secrets ruin him and Allie? Will Micah's freind Darius Bennet, ick his ass for playingnwith his little sister?
How many times, will Allis forgive him!

This book was a different than I was expecting and didn't have much of the BDSM lifestyle in it, despite what you think it will have from the description. But I liked it overall. I liked Micah and Allie, I liked that she stood up for herself, I liked that instead of being enthralled with his money, she saw it as a reason to shy away from him.

I thought the characters seemed realistic, the dialog was good. The pacing was a little rough, I thought the lead up to the relationship was unbalanced and I thought a lot of the things that we should have known about Micah upfront were buried in the back of the story and vice versa. This lack of detail and then being flooded with information made me feel like the first half and second half of the book were about different people, which made it feel a little off.

That said, I was still interested in their story. I wanted to know where it ended up and how it got there. I liked both characters and I was definitely more engaged at the end of the book than I was at the beginning...I remember thinking that, right about 40% in the book had moved from me not sure about it to really enjoying it. It helps that it is not a tough read, it is accessible with characters you don't have to struggle to like, or to relate too.

But, overall this was enjoyable and I am interested in reading the next story in the series and the cliff hanger ending for that story (not for Micah and Allie) had me looking to see when the next one is out.

**I received this book from Random House-Loveswept through NetGalley for an honest review.**

Micah is a real estate mogul who just acquired Richardson. Allie is one of the best employees that Richardson has to offer so it was a no brainer that she would continue to work under Micah. Micah is a charmer but also her new boss so that gives Allie pause. Micah is also a founding member of the Dominants Council so he has many secrets that he would like to remain hidden.

I thought this was a good start to Kennedy’s new series. I will say it was a little lighter than I expected but it still had its moments. I liked Allie and Micah’s relationship. I hated the predictability of secrets coming back to haunt but that has been par for the course I guess. If you’re looking for any kind of BDSM go ahead and get it out of your mind now because there isn’t any outside of a 2 second session. There is a positive though. Allie was a rather strong character in my opinion, she stuck to her guns. Micah was great in his dominant billionaire role, he wasn’t that big of an asshole outside of a couple of scenes. The sexy times were also pretty dang hot.

I honestly can’t wait for the next book, I really hope it’s as juicy as the epi made it seem like it will be.

Shadow's 5 star review
This book took a unique approach to the subject of BDSM-in this case the Dom is the one who feels his Dominant needs make him a freak. We find out through the story there is a reason for his feelings.

When real estate mogul Micah Holt buys out Richardson Real Estate, he also gains top agent Allie Parker. He is totally unable to resist his attraction to the beautiful woman, but Allie has her reasons for avoiding commitment with powerful men and his efforts to win her regard backfire. He finds himself breaking his own rules to please her and eventually manages to convince her he is not the ogre she originally believes him to be.

But he has a secret-he is a Dom and part owner of a BDSM club. He only plays in the club with experienced submissives who will not expect anything more. With Allie, he believes he can bury that part of him and have a vanilla relationship.

Allie is keeping secrets of her own. She is half sister to a billionaire, who is also a Dom at Holt's club, but she doesn't want to make that connection known.

Can these two secretive people open up communication enough to actually have a relationship?

I liked both main characters. Holt was hot and far more sensitive to his woman's needs than would be expected of someone in his position. I loved Allie's independence and strength and her efforts to make sure the relationship works in spite of her pain. This is a most unusual BDSM book-there is only scene involving BDSM, and while the topic is key to the book, the author doesn't overplay the action.

This was a great introduction to the Dirty Little Secrets series and a book to cherish.

Kitty's 5 star review
Stacey Kennedy really surprised me with Bound Beneath His Pain. I was interested right from the beginning when Allie stood up to Micah, negotiated with him and got what she wanted. I knew, right then that Allie was going to be a woman that I enjoyed reading about and the Micah met his match in every sense of the word.

As the story unfolded and all of Micah’s secrets started being revealed, I was so afraid that what he had with Allie would fall apart. But, like I said, she was one strong woman and knew what she needed to do to keep the man that she fell in love with. But, Micah swore that he would never open himself up to the pain of love again. He needed to trust Allie and that was just something that he knew would bring him down. No woman ever had him thinking that he would leave the Dominant Council but, he knew, when the time came, he would. He would learn to control his urges to keep this woman in his life.

Allie blew me away when she found out about Micah’s secret life. Of course, it didn’t help that she found out from Juliet, his sometimes playmate and the woman that runs his club, Lace. Everything happened just the way Micah figured it would and he couldn’t have been more heartbroken or upset. But, again, Allie proved that she wasn’t like any other woman he has ever had, has ever been with. She, literally, brought him to his knees, had him thanking God that he finally put his trust in her and found out that he could have everything that he wanted … that he could be himself and she would accept him.

Micah’s story was extremely emotional and you totally understood why he wouldn’t show his true self to Allie. The one time that he did lose himself in her, he was totally taken under by guilt that his demons couldn’t be contained. But, what he didn’t see is that Allie actually enjoyed everything that he did do.

The story itself wasn’t complicated until Allie’s brother, Darius, was introduced into the story. Then. Micha knew that there were decisions to be made. There is no way that he would tell Allie of her brothers’ proclivities and knew that his time was either going to come to an end with Allie or he was leaving the lifestyle.

I was totally drawn into this story. Into Allie’s life, her secrets and her fight to make it on her own. Micha’s life and his secrets. But, the ending is what blew me away and has me so pumped up to read the next story, Tied to His Betrayal. Darius and Taylor should be one volatile and interesting story.

Stacey Kennedy showed us all sides to Micha … he dominant side, his sweet side, his loving side. She leads us through his pain and shame with such style that you couldn’t help but fall in love with him. She also wrote Allie as a strong and independent woman who knew who she was but was also willing to set aside her fears and go public with her relationship as well as give the man she loves everything that he needs. She wrote an interesting story with interesting characters. She gave us a little bit of BDSM, a lot of dominance and two people who really love each other.

While the blurb might suggest that Bound Beneath His Pain (Dirty Little Secrets #1) by Stacey Kennedy is taking place in the BDSM scene, actually if we are being honest it is not.

Having said that – I also said my only complain about this book – which is actually not the book but the blurb.

So in my case I was rather pleasantly surprised, because I almost expected a book along the lines of many other similar books. But I got more, because the plotline of this book is not only intense but it is also a little different than others.

There is more feeling and love inside than simple BDSM

.From the first second there is no doubt about Micah Holt. He is dominant and leaving no doubt that once he makes up his mind he is sticking with his decision … Or is he not ?

Well yes he is – but only as long as his decisions do not include the word “Allie”… For me as a reader it was funny to “watch” him trying to find out what was “wrong” with him.

Allie was not the “submissive” a guy like Micah would want – in fact she was the opposite of submissive for most of the story and this contradiction made the story different and interesting for me.

There were predictable twists and turns to the story as well as unpredictable ones. All characters had well developed backgrounds and I can easily see the plotline ahead of some of the next books in that series.

And I liked what I saw because for example I want to know about Allie’s half-brother.

If I was to give a final opinion on both leading characters, it would be –

“Micah might be dominant but he is no DOM and while Allie does not have a submissive bone in her body – she will gladly submit to Micah … “

Not sure if that makes sense to you – so in fact – you better read the book and you will understand

Fans of Stacey Kennedy’s Club Sins series will enjoy this spin off that gives new meaning to the saying, “you can’t always get what you want...but sometimes you get what you need.” Intense emotions overflow and cascade around you as a romance of epic proportions is built between a man determined to retain all the control and the one woman who has the ability to make him lose it. Light BDSM elements flavors the storyline though it isn’t as defining in the relationship as you would expect from this author.

ARC received for review

We meet Micah at the end of the Club Sin series. He was yummy then, and now he is still yummy and angst-y too. Allie was fabulous and a little angst-y. Loving all the secondary characters that will hopefully all get their own HEAs, especially her brother and BFF. I was disappointed with the lack of kink since him and his friends all own a different club.

Ceo-bad boy-manhore man meets 25y girl who he assume risks and want one thing to her

description

Allie-Allison goes to works to Micah's company she is the half-sister of Darius another billionaire whom she does not want to money. She is hard working and Micah apparently its not a guy that she wants to date yet he shows a part of himself that she could be with. But like all bad boys Micah has a dark past and doe not want infect her. Yet he wants to change because of her.

There is not much drama Allie is rich yet she does not want it because its dirty.??!! I really don't understand that. Basically her mother manipulated her to think that money and guys with money are bad. Still she does nothing with the money she had-yeah one moment she shamed of that. Not every people with money are bad. And if they are why the authors want so bad that all be rich. I don't get it. She basically will be with a man with money that she totally dispase.

Liv rolls her eyes. “And somehow only you could look so miserable in”—she waves a hand over
my body—“this.”
“It’s excessive.” I stare in the mirror at the gown, embellished with what I think might be
Swarovski crystals. “I don’t even want to know how much Micah spent on all of it.”
“Oh, hush.” Liv tucks a couple of loose, fallen curls back into place with bobby pins. “You’re not
supposed to think about those things. Besides, it’s not like it’s breaking Micah’s bank account to get you this stuff.”
“Just because he can afford it”—I step away from the mirror and move into the hallway, entering
my living room—“doesn’t mean I need them. There’s starving children in the world, for cripes’
sake.” Liv follows me into the living room, and when I turn back to her, I find a smile on her face.
“There are, yes, and it’s all types of terrible. But let’s not forget that Micah gives a lot of his money to help children, so let him spoil you one day out of the year.”

Liv knows the things. Allie you never did nothing and I bet that Micah helps more children than you. Micah was ok. At least he helps and has a good organizational climate in his company and HELPS poor people. His drama was MEHH. yEAH, his ex and father manipulated him. Its not his actions that cause the problem yet he could search more about what he likes?! its what people do.
I did not see this kinky style like Juliet said he is a Gentleman Dom. Of course you don't want people to know what you in bed.

Allie was not a comprehensive girlfriend. She deserve the cold shouder. And serious what Micah saw on her?!! The girl just work and her vision of the world is basically nothing different. Just words no action.

The next book will be probably Taylor and Darius-who seems bad ass!! Wait to see.

5 I want more stars!!

When Stacey Kennedy's highly rated Club Sin series ended it open the door to a spin off series about the men of the "DC," Bound Beneath His Pain is the first book in that series and Micah is the first of the four men that comprise the Dominant's Council to have his story told.

While Club Sin is predominantly set in a BDSM club and focuses on the lifestyle, this series starts us off with more of an emotional journey for Micah then the fact that he is heavily into the BDSM lifestyle. I appreciated the fact that Micah did not push his Dominance onto Allie, in fact she didn't know anything about it for the majority of the book, and he let her come to terms with it on her own.

Micah knew that purchasing a small residential real estate firm would help him build his real estate empire, but he didn't know that it would change his life until he meets Allie for the first time. Allie is a hard worker and doesn't take anything for granted, she has a secret that no one other than her best friend Taylor knows and she is determined to keep it that way, that is until Micah starts to pursue her. The chemistry between Micah and Allie was combustible, an instant spark at the first touch to full out flames when they came together.

This was an amazing start to what I believe will be the next Must Read Series for anyone that enjoys the emotional journey as well as the BDSM aspect of their romance novels. I look forward to the next book Tied to His Betrayal: A Dirty Little Secrets Novel which is about Darius and Taylor (Allie's best friend), if the ending of this book is any indication to what is up next it will be one very emotional ride.

What a great idea for a book. A group of enigmatic, kinky men who own the best BDSM clubs in the city meet regularly to talk shop, and they call themselves The Dominant Council, or the DC for short. Just that is sexy as hell, isn't it? Stacey Kennedy only briefly mentioned the DC in her Club Sin series, but now it's time to give these men center stage in a series of their own.

Bound Beneath His Pain starts things off with the story of business mogul Micah Holt. He has acquired a small real estate firm, and its top seller Allie Bennett along with it. Although he's not one to mix business with pleasure, he decides right away that he might have to make an exception in this case. But, kinky play leads to actual feelings, and that crumbles Micah's carefully constructed walls.

I'm a very character-driven reader. If an author can't make me fall in love with the main characters, I'll find it hard to love the story. It's even okay if I hate the characters a little to start with. Hell, sometimes it's better that way. Because, if I fall in love with them later, it's even better. Stacey Kennedy flawlessly drew me into this world of BDSMery and the DC and secrets and love and kink.

She made me love Allie right off the bat. She's my favorite kind of female character. She has money because her family is wealthy, but she doesn't use it. She decided to make her own way in life and is very independent. She picks her battles, stands up for what is right, and goes after what she wants. And, she was the perfect match for Micah.

Micah is mysterious. It's obvious he has secrets and that there's a story behind why he remains alone, even while surrounded by people as he runs his empire. He's also a good man. He treats his employees well, he's fair, and he's generous with his time and money. It's his heart that he's not interested in sharing. And it was obvious right from the start that Allie might be the right woman to change that.

For a book about a council of BDSM club owners, there wasn't actually all that many BDSM club scenes to be had in Bound Beneath His Pain. The main focus wasn't on the kink, but rather on the demons in Micah's past that are causing him to make the choices he's making now. But, it was okay. I didn't miss the club scene all that much, because I was totally caught up in Micah's and Allie's story.

I'm assuming we'll get a book for each of the members of the DC in this series, and it sounds like Darius will be next. Based on Bound Beneath His Pain, I can't wait for the next book.

Bound Beneath His Pain, is very raw and unforgiving.  I don't read much of the BDSM themed stories, since they can be very hard to read. Not saying this is a bad story, it's was really really good. The author writes really well and had me intrigued.

Micha, is a businessman and has money beyond anyone's imagination. But there's a secret lying deep within him. One that has controlled him for over a decade. Allie is a new employee to Holt. And one that draws Micha's attention and he can't stop thinking about her.

I really didn't like Micah much. I loved his really nice side and the things he wants to do for Allie. But I don't believe that Allie has any idea what she's getting herself into, and it can be a little unnerving while reading. I think if an author can make you feel any type of emotion, they're doing something right.

The story did take a turn that I didn't see coming. I did enjoy this, my only thing is I didn't connect with the characters. It was more of me watching them, then really getting in their heads.

Overall, I give this a four. It's a great start to a series....Lissa

I didn't know what to expect from this book, I have never read this author. This book had ebbs and flows. Sometimes it clicked with me and other times I was like that did not really happen...that was the big reveal?

I liked Allie. She really seemed to know who she was and what she wanted. She was not the type of girl that settled. I liked how she was her own person and didn't want to depend on anyone. I really didn't get the relationship between her brother and her. It would be interesting to see what he felt he owed her.

Micah well he was a tad dramatic about things. His big reveal was like...oh well so.. I don't understand the big deal and how Allie needed protected. He was a jerk to her twice and I wondered why she kept him around, but I guess she saw straight through him. He was a charming billionaire.

The next book was set up at the end. It has me interested.
