Thomas Black is a retired Yorkshire Businessman. He divides his time between Yorkshire and the Tarn in South West France. By his own admission, he is no author. Nevertheless he has produced a book, written in his own inimitable style. This book contrasts the different cultures he has encountered during his time in these two countries. It includes anecdotes, points of view and personal insights. Somebody once said, 'There is a book in everyone . . .' Has Thomas proved them wrong? The book is laconic, original, funny, cynical, chauvinistic, poignant, sensitive, biased, outspoken, politically incorrect, and full of outdated French expressions. . . these are possibly the good points. Even so, it's worth a read! This beautiful book is a work of art. It has been designed and produced in Yorkshire. It is hand bound, produced on traditional machines. Tied with hessian ribbon and presented with a stem of French lavender and a sprig of Yorkshire heather, alluding to the author’s life in these two very different parts of the world. The book also includes a separate envelope which contains information, photographs and surprises. This charming book is an ideal coffee table gift, which will bring pleasure and humour to many.
a non-author's view on life. a fun read with the added bonus that only 500 or so books were printed and it came wrapped with lavender and with gifts! Thomas Black comes from the area I grew up in so there are familiar places mentioned. I enjoyed that
