This was the sort of story I love to get lost in. A delicious dip into a world of reading pleasure. The book I thought about when I wasn’t reading it and sneak read a page here or there when I was at work. Like a box of chocolates hidden in my desk drawer that I keep getting drawn back to so I can taste just a little morsel…
Natalia is Hollywood’s golden girl, she is known for being a nice person and there has been little scandal associated with her during her career, everyone loves her. On a night out drinking with friends at an exclusive nightclub she crosses paths with Nick Ryder, the very gorgeous, enigmatic rock star. There is a ridiculous amount of chemistry between them, an intensity like nothing she has felt before.
Nick Ryder has had a bit of a crush on the beautiful actress Natalia Lowen since he was a teenager. However, meeting her in the flesh is a whole new experience, she is even more beautiful than he imagined. They share a ‘moment’ on the dance floor where everything else around them seems to disappear and they are the only two people there.
‘I close my eyes and I swear I can taste the sweat off the top of his lip, swear I can feel his fingers touching my skin, swear I can feel what it would feel like if he were moving inside me. It’s orgasmic. Quite unreal. All of this desire coils in my belly and I can’t remember the last time I felt so beautiful. So wanted.’
Natalia is shocked by how much her body reacted being near Nick Ryder. There is no way she can ever pursue anything there with him, apart from the age gap between them, his public image is vastly different to her own squeaky clean one. Her career could be impacted by associating with him. However, over the course of a couple of weeks she seems to keep bumping into him.
Nick wants to explore the connection that he feels with Natalia, he can’t get her out of his head. He knows she is experiencing it too, he can feel it every time they see each other. When he finally does convince her to spend time with him holy shite, things get wildly hot. This girl may be Hollywood’s sweetheart but in the bedroom she is a very curious, sexually adventurous wee thing!
‘I want to do everything to her. Kneel down and eat her out. Lick her from back to front. Savor her climax on my tongue while I finger her in the ass.’
Natalia is very careful about who she spends time with but when it comes to Nick she can’t seem to get enough. His persistence and determination to see her had her body making all the decisions on her brain’s behalf. OMG, she has never been with a man like him, he is blowing her mind leaving her feeling overwhelmed and yet wanting even more of him.
‘My chest starts to tingle high up, underneath my collarbone, and it feels so good and scary that I can’t decide if I want to cling to the feeling or run away from it as fast as I can. That’s the trouble with moving outside the comfort zone. It’s not just uncomfortable, it’s confusing.’
Natalia knows this can only ever be a short term thing though. There are so many reasons why they could never be permanent but Nick seems to be determined to dispel every one of them. When you know you know and letting Natalia go is not something he is willing to do. Now that he has had her, he can’t imagine his life without her in it.

This was a book filled so many swoon worthy moments, an abundance of sexiness and fabulous characters. Nick was so damn sweet! I recommend making this a weekend read because once you start it is impossible to stop!

Ok, let me just start by saying this book quickly became one of my absolute favourites. Not only was it an incredible book but from the beginning all I could think about was how much this Nick Ryder resembles Nick freaking Jonas, this book has so many things that resembles the Jonas Brothers and my fan-girling heart just couldn’t take it and I swooned so hard. In case you don’t get it, I was a huge ass Jonas fan (still kinda am tbh) and this book was just everything, EVERYTHING I TELL YA!!
Ok so to stop my excited rambling and get to the review...

When I first began reading Close I instantly fell in love with both main characters. They’re so different and yet similar. They just work together and it’s incredible.
Nick is an ex boyband member now rockstar. Being made to grow up earlier than a boy should have he’s matured faster and knows exactly what he wants.
Nick is amazing, caring and super fucking sexy, he makes the ovaries weep and then completely explode.
Natalia is an incredible woman, she’s been hurt in her past and is extremely careful who she lets in to her life. Having had a bad time with the media she’s made herself become Hollywood’s sweetheart and won’t do anything to hurt that image.
Natalia is kind, caring and super adorable. She’s an amazing woman and although she got me mad at times she made me loved her more at the end.
Watching these two interact and have fun is what I loved the most. When they’re together everything just seems better, seems happier and I loved that.
I seriously CAN NOT wait to read the other two Ryder brothers’ stories. I can’t wait to see what they’re like and how they are and gah, I’m super fucking excited. Laurelin Paige did an incredible job with Close, I can’t praise her enough. Her writing is flawless and manages to hook you in from the get go, your mind is completely occupied with thoughts of Ryder and Natalia all the way throughout. It’s captivating and incredible and I’m so honoured to have read this beauty.

5 Write Your Own Story CROWNS
Laurelin Paige composes a sweet and uber sexy, fast paced romance with a delectable hero and fabulous heroine I adore.
This author sure knows how to create a perfect hero. Nick Ryder is just the right blend of romantic heart and dirty mouth. The things he texted and the way he spoke to the heroine set me ablaze. The way he woos her had me swooning right off my chair. I am completely enamored with his character.
Natalia might be my favorite heroine from Laurelin Paige. I love the way she embraces her desires in the bedroom. I love the way she sheds her old skin, and evolves into a woman who doesn’t care what the public thinks and is only concerned with her own happiness and heart. She is empowering for woman to go after what they want in the bedroom and in real life no matter what anyone else thinks. What ultimately makes her relatable is that she doesn’t start the story with this ideology, make her a character women can see themselves in.
This is a fast paced story with low angst and high steam, but what makes Close worthy of 5 crowns is the message behind the romance. The idea of these two similar yet different people finding love with each other. I love that there is a bit of role reversal with the hero falling in love and giving chase while the woman is the one saying she just wants a dirty tryst. I love the evolution of the heroine and how she adopts the mantra of telling her own story and finding happiness by being true to herself. I am just enthralled with every aspect of it all.
Laurelin Paige continues to impress with sweet and sexy snippet into the world of Hollywood. With her charismatic characters and their electric chemistry, I was a fan from page one.

Natalie is a 36 year old actress known for her good girl values. Her girls are taking her out to a club to show she isn't wallowing over a very public breakup with her ex-boyfriend. There she meets 23 year old rocker Nick Ryder.
They meet and connect on the dance floor but that's all it can ever be for Natalie. She's too old for him and being seen with him would ruin her good girl image. As much as Natalie is attracted to Nick, she's worked too hard on her image to mess that up. When she keeps running into Nick, her girls talk her into at least having a fling with him and this soon turns into so much more.
Natalie and Nick's fling was pretty hot but also very sweet. Nick is dominant and liked getting dirty with Natalie but the feelings for both of them came on pretty fast and strong. He just had to convince Natalie that they could make it work.
I really liked Nick. I liked that he had a dirty side to him but also a loving side. What more can a woman want? I think Natalie had valid issues with their age difference but Nick was very mature for his age.

I think it's safe to say I'll read anything Laurelin Paige writes, even a grocery list lol.
Close is the story of Natalia Lowen and Nick Ryder, two opposites in Hollywood with an insane attraction. Natalia is an actress and America's Sweetheart, and she's worked hard to keep her image as squeaky clean as possible since she used to have a reputation. Nick, on the other hand, is a much younger rock star who used to be part of The Ryder Brothers (a very popular boy band).
What I really enjoyed about Close is the chemistry between Nick and Natalia. I usually don't pick up books where the heroine is older (don't ask why, I just usually read books where the age gap goes the other way lol), but I'm really glad I read this one. Nick may be younger, but he's an old soul who had to mature quickly because of the industry he's part of. Not only that, he knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go after it. In this case, that's Natalia. I loved that their relationship seemed realistic, and Nick had me swooning like a mofo.
Add on top of all this the wit, heat, and feels that always come with a Laurelin Paige book, and you've got another winner. Overall, it was a really enjoyable read, and I look forward to the next in the series!

Such a fun and sexy read!I devour it, the story was captivating and the characters lovable.It has the perfect amount of drama,romance and super hot moments.

Oh man this was a brilliant little read.
I already love Laurelin’s books but this was such a different little spin & it totally worked.
It’s hot sexy fun flirty & a little dirty 👌
Nick I love him so much right from the start he was so smooth & has this way of being so swoony even when he’s not trying. It’s the small things & he totally knows it.
Natalia, she’s such a doll but everything she thinks is not what her body portrays but living up to being “America’s Sweetheart” is slowly taking away all the good in her life.
And as for Hadley & Rowan I loved them I want them to be my friends.

When I started listening to Close, I do not know what to expect. From my experience with Miss Paige, she can certainly write a hot steamy smutty scenes. She delivers on that department.
As for the story, it was standard. I read mote in depth age gap forbidden romamce where the heroine is older than the hero. In Close the hero falls first.
Nothing very memorable from their romance.

Well, when the man is written by Laurelin Paige, the answer is none. She has no ability to resist him, and neither did I.
I've said it before, and I am going to say it again here, Laurelin writes the absolute BEST men. Ever. Authors usually have something they do well. Comedy, suspense, dirty talk...and, Laurelin is THE best at writing men you want to get to know, and who are interesting and compelling and draw you to them in such a way that you can't put the book down. It also gives stunning credibility to the stories as the reader is as drawn to the character as the heroine, so even if they have questionable morals (I am looking at you, Reeve, here) you can't help but be drawn to them.
With all of these strong men hanging out in her books, you would think that she wouldn't write women who are as strong...but, you would be wrong. Her women match the men, they give as good as they get and they hold their own.
We live in a changing world, one in which the man needs to be "alpha" for a lot of romance to work, while balancing that we just aren't ok anymore with the woman being put on a pedestal and doing nothing but looking pretty. The amazing thing about Laurelin's books is that she is not moving with the times, her characters were here years ago.
I loved the struggle Natalia has with her image, with needing to be "good" to atone for how she was seen in the past, and that the events in this book not only allow her to find herself, but allow her to be ok with letting others see her for herself as well.
If you have never read her, starting here is a great place...but, set aside some time, as you are going to want to read everything she has written.

Nick doesn't play games, he gives it to his girl straight, "he walks over to me, puts a steady hand on my hip. "Quit thinking I'm trying to get rid of you, okay ? I’m not the one that runs. I'm asking you to come with me..." The man is just so sweet, "we will not be sleeping in separate rooms, no. I’m not going to bed without your *** cuddled up next to me.” I liked this book, I really loved Nick.

Marvelously performed by Jacob Morgan. A sweet and sexy story between an older Heroine and younger Hero. It works as Hero is mature for his age. The Heroine was a bit annoying at times as she over-thought everything and couldn't make up her mind.

Definitely my favourite read from this author. Absolutely loved this fresh take on the rock star story. Dirty talking, younger rock star with the sweet as pie, with a hidden dirty side older actress. Sign me up. The dialogue/banter was some of the best I have read this year and I smiled the whole time I was reading. As for the chemistry/sex scenes - well they were hot enough to melt your kindle. Add in just the right amount of emotions and you've got one of my Top Reads of 2018. Definitely recommend!

3.5-4 'I Can Love You Right' Stars!
Wow! It's been quite a while since my last read by Laurelin Paige but I do have to say the woman knows how to write one sexy as heck rock star! I don't know exactly why I decided to read this one but the blurb sounded great and the reviews were pretty positive. And people were right, this book is HAWT! Yes, I do have a special place in my heart for Laurelin's Fixed series but this one was a good and entertaining read. Not my favorite but I really enjoyed it anyway.
So, if you enjoy a story with an age gap between the couple, with lots of sexy times and a swoony and hot hero that steals hearts left and right, be sure to check Close out! Nick and Nat's love story is one to enjoy and love, for sure!

In theory, Close should be a hit. It has so many tropes I love: a rock star romance, a Hollywood romance, an older woman-younger man romance. That enticing combination had me eager to read this book, so it’s especially disappointing that it falls flat.
The story misses many opportunities to be better than average. Part of a good Hollywood love story is feeling like you’re getting a glimpse into the ups and downs and inner workings of showbiz. I never got a real sense of what it is like for Natalia to be a superstar.
Natalia is extremely worried about ruining her good girl image, but I didn’t understand why she considers Nick to be a bad boy. He is a former boy band heartthrob who is now a rock star, but he isn’t someone who is known for sleeping around, getting drunk, or getting into trouble. What’s the big deal?
Despite all the sexy times, I did not feel an intense chemistry between Nick and Natalia. At first he only seems into her because he had a crush on her growing up. I love Laurelin Paige and most of the books I’ve read from her I’ve marked as five star reads. However, I’m kind of apathetic about this one.
It was cute enough, but I didn’t get the usual adrenaline rush. Natalia didn’t really feel like a Hollywood star and Nick, he didn’t seem like a rockstar. I think that because they met in the initial scenes, there wasn’t much angsty buildup to get the story flowing. Their relationship was fun, but I didn’t experience fireworks with it.
As always though, it’s well written and there’s nothing offensive about the plot line, but it just didn’t do it for me.

Book Review: 4,5 Stars
Sexy AF, romantic and just what I needed—I’m sure you need Nick Ryder in your life, too.
Close brings the story of Natalia, a 36 known actress and Nick Ryder, a 23 rock star. Their whole relationship can be resumed in one single word: HOT-AS-HELL! Well, these are three words, but you know what I mean. Their first encounter was hot, and with every encounter, things got hotter and hotter, and despite Natalie tried her best to keep things casual, Nick made it very difficult with his dirty mouth and his sweet behavior.
Ok, let’s be honest, I wouldn’t have been able to resist as much as she did LOL Younger men are my weakness and I felt totally and utterly and completely related to Natalie and I LOVED IT!! I loved her relationship with Nick, he is the perfect sex rock, sex god and romance god, and Natalie just had to accept their attraction and that they could have a beautiful HEA.
If you like to read age-gap romances, with awesome characters, the sexiest scenes, and a sweet HEA, you’re gonna love Close . 100% recommended.

Natalia has been labeled America's Sweetheart. A title she never asked for but has been trying to live up to it throughout her career. Nick was a child star and the road to stardom while it came easy was not an easy road for him.
A chance meeting with a woman he has fantasized about sets in motion a path neither one expected to be on. While Nick embraces everything that could come from a relationship with Natalia she can't let go of the age gap and what the media will make of them.
Nick needs to get past her defenses and show her that his age is really only a number and that he is the man who can give her everything she's ever dreamed of in a relationship but can Nat finally lower the drawbridge and let him in completely.
"She's an open book, with certain pages written in code."
That epilogue was perfect. There was something that finally happens in it that I was so hoping throughout the whole book would happen. I'm so happy it did. It was perfect!!! And can we take a moment to admire that cover. Yeah it's most definitely droolworthy ;)

I absolutely loved this book. The writing is flawless. I was so engrossed in this story. Hollywood's Golden Good Girl, Natalia Lowen eventually gives in and has an unbelievable no strings fling with the Rock God, much younger Nick Ryder. You will fall in love with Natalia and Nick. Everything about them is perfect, their conversations, the way they treat each other and omg the chemistry between them is hot AF. Laurelin out did herself with this one. A favorite for sure for 2018!!!
