I really enjoyed this book. I read the first two of Kenan's books and it was great to re-enter the world of Khuzar. The plot of this book is very complex and gripping as it tracks many different characters lives. However, when I got to the end of the book, I was disappointed. There was so much buildup throughout the whole book and it ended in a few short pages leaving many loose ends. There were so many people throughout the book that I'd like to hear more about, or whom I expected to have their stories finished before the book came to it's conclusion, but I was left hanging. I hope there is another book to follow in this series so that more characters can come to life. Anyone know if there will be another one?
final installment. (?? I think it is. The ending left room for more to come.) This is translated from Hebrew. The translation is better than the first volume. The book had typos that were annoying. The storytelling is much much better in this book. The story was always interesting and well imagined with excellent world building, but the entire structure of this novel was so complex and well done it was impossible to guess what the outcome of all the plot threads would result in. The author's narrative style improved over the series. I got lost in the book for a change, instead of feeling the translation or wondering how that sentence / paragraph could have been improved.
This book is absolutely amazing! It's written wonderfully, and it's very thought provoking. The characters will automatically connect to you, and you'll feel their every emotion. The plot itself is brilliant but confusingly detailed. I cry every time I read about a certain characters death. I would recommend this book to everyone!
