A weekend trip to the scenic Adirondack Mountains, turns treacherous, as four campers find themselves at odds with nature. For one of these adventurers, the trip will hold consequences that may well shape the rest of her life. Allison Stern, an executive with a New York financial firm, finds her world turned upside down, when her manager puts her in charge of a character-building adventure, and things go terribly wrong. Cynthia Brooks, a ranger with the forestry service finds herself thrown in with Allison, as she attempts a rescue. Allison is floundering in a loveless marriage and Cynthia wants nothing to do with any sort of relationship, having left her heart on a mountainside in Colorado, years before. Can a city girl with an affinity for nature, find love with a devout mountain girl with a broken heart? Read Eagle Ridge, and find out if opposites really do attract.

(Author's note: 2nd Edition of this book contains various corrections of grammatical and ease of reading problems that had been brought to my attention following the publication of the original manuscript.)

**'There are three rules for writing a good book.Unfortunately,no writer knows what they are..'

This storyline started so strong then 24% into the book i'm done -- straight downhill. Way too contradictory and frustrating -- chemistry was a dud.

This book had so much potential, an interesting interwoven plot, but it reads like a first draft, even though it's listed as a second edition.

I made so many highlights of things that needed correcting, I lost count. I made a list to back up my comment, but what's the point?

I'll leave you to ponder this instead
That girl be must hell and gone from Eagle Canyon...
Books like this give indie authors a bad name and that's a crying shame as some of my favourite authors are independently published.

The first quarter of this book was good. Snappy dialogue and survival action, which was tense even though everyone kept making really stupid choices and doing things for no other reason than to ramp up the drama. Hey, they’re city slickers so it happens. Let’s disregard the borderline-creepy come on by the best friend with three vanishing kids who may not be as straight as she acts.

The forest ranger glossing over a really obvious clue before she goes to hang out at home and get a haircut is a fluke, isnt it? This isn’t setting a precedent for the entire book being made up of increasingly anxious near-misses, right?

Wrong!!

Things heat up between our two mains even though one of them is currently married...and the relationship details into draaahma of the finest lesfic kind. Watch in silent horror as Cynthia refuses to read the note that explains it all, slap your forehead as Allison leaves her phone in exactly the wrong place and wrong time, develop an unhealthy twitch toward your smartphone as Cynthia lets her battery run out the one time a life-changing text comes through!

It just goes on and on with the characters playing a game of angst ping pong where they take turns desperately reaching out and just missing each other only to end up suffering in solitude that goes on for way too long. It gets so muddy and toxic that only a catastrophic hospital visit (three in fact) can bring them back together.

This book is well-written compared to others I’ve read recently. It’s written in 3rd person with lots of POV switching that narrowly avoids head-hopping. It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve read, and we never had to suffer through lackluster MF sex scenes so that was a definite plus!

EAGLE RIDGE

This novel was a very enjoyable and entertaining read. The author has a beautiful way of writing and makes you feel as if you are evolved in the scene you are reading about and know the people you are reading about. I just noticed a sequel so I will be reading it next. I read using prime Lending but will definitely be buying also

Beautifully written in every way

I grabbed this book expecting what I call a Cheetos read. Cheesy fluff that's tasty and satisfying but not filling. Little did I know I was sitting down to a five course meal. I read this into the wee hours, in one sitting, despite my wife's protests.
There were a couple of points near the beginning where I thought the formatting could have used some work, to clarify when the perspective was changed, but otherwise I had no complaints.
The writing itself was exquisite and an absolute pleasure. The plot was exciting, a roller coaster with several twists and peaks and ups and downs. It wasn't easy to predict, which is saying a lot coming from me at the rate I consume literature and media.
The characters were three dimensional and they made you actually care what happened and how.

I'm not saying I wouldn't have had critiques if I was an editor, I thought a little more character development earlier on would have been nice, particularly for Paul. Maybe a bit longer on the initial interaction between the main characters, giving them more time to build an attraction and a dynamic, but then again, all that got worked in over the course of the story so it's just my very humble opinion.

I hear the 'Flix is gonna start producing romances as movies and miniseries from romance novels, if they haven't already. I think this would be a fantastic mini series, it has the drama, the fast pace, and the sex appeal. It'd be like a couple episodes of Grey's and SVU rolled into a Planet Earth level gorgeous wilderness with some small town nostalgic appeal.

Anyway, I recommend this book highly if you didn't pick up on that already. I'll be following this author closely.

Allison, Cynthia, and Martina are three well-written characters. Allison's marriage to a rock star isn't what it looks like on the outside, Cynthia's still trying to hold it all together since leaving Colorado, and Martina's career in law enforcement doesn't stop the PTSD triggers. The author's description of the trails and views of the area made me want to pack up and visit. I could visualize all the action as it played out on the pages.
I'm a voracious reader so I sat through an entire evening and early morning before I finished.

🌈ONE WORD🌈
Though I saw a editing error . Where Martina and Cyn are talking about Allison . In the very next paragraph the writer calls Cyn " Allison "
Other than that error . This story was chocked full of DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA!😍

I just could not keep up with this book. I am not an outdoor person so the scenery was not appreciated as much. But I was interested in the story. The author does not understand how to jump from one decade to another. You're reading the present, next sentence, it's something that happened 20 years ago. I was lost several times. The story itself was a bit farfetched. But still, I wanted to give it a try. Didn't work for me. I stopped reading when the husband showed up at the cabin. In summary, what killed it for me was the constant jumping around, it became like 'what am I reading about now? Do not recommend this book at all.

TRULY A STORY TO REMEMBER!

Brooklyn has given us a beautiful lesbian story to remember for a long time to come. Characters become different due to circumstances but the LOVE 💘 continues.

This is certainly a novel; but has an ongoing story that has the perfect ending. Think you'll enjoy this book!

I found this disappointing. This is a good story. Unfortunately, it's one that should have been a series. The author really took on too much. If they had taken more time to develop the feelings and relationship between our two mains it would have been so much better. Even though this is a new edition-there's still a whole lot it needs. I could totally see this book as two. It would be so much better.

Lots of potential, but too many ideas.

The narrative didnt have a good flow, and when things stutter, the author just piles on another tragedy to build tension. The romance, like the characters, lacks personality and depth. I do not recommend this. Read if you want a romance that spends half it's pages in an ICU, and the other half using flashbacks as a substitute for narrative flow.

Good book

The story was very good and the plot was riveting. The reason for four rather five stars was for poor editing even though this was the third edition for that very same reason. It distracted from the reading but not by much.

The story itself was lovely and am looking forward to the sequel. The description of the Adirondack area was so beautiful. Cinthia was so,sweet and Allison was so brave in the face of such danger. Marty was an interesting character and so was Carlie. Here is hoping the sequel is about them more than about Cin and Allie.

Eagle Ridge

A mountain to for four city people goes wrong when the weather changes leaving them with little food. The leader makes a decision and two of them set off for help but one of the man who goes with the woman decides they should split up she disagrees but he insists.
Meanwhile there can is spotted by the Sheriff and she contacts the ranger who decides they need to find them. Now the story really starts. This is a story about danger, black bear, true love at its best, and more.
Brooklyn Graham (author) did a brilliant job writing this book but also explained the dangers of not been prepared or keeping an eye on the weather when camping.
Well worth a read and recommended.

yikes

I do not like to be ugly about someone’s hard work and love. Although the plot was good the story it was choppy and sometimes cut off drastically then pivot, unknowingly to the reader. I had to reread paragraphs due to not knowing she changed characters and time eras. I most likely will not read another by this author.

Needs a little work

This is the first book that I've read by Brooklyn Graham. Overall I liked the story, but there were too many errors/typos which a good editor could easily have prevented. The scene transitions, especially early in the book, had my head spinning. One moment the author would be talking about one character and the next moment another character without any type of transition. As a minimum use asterisks to divide up the scenes. Finally, the drama level that the author created was way beyond what was needed to make this a better book. More drama does not equal a better book (i.e. way too many hospital visits and too much drama within the hospital scenes). Stick to the personal interactions between characters to drive the story.

Three stars

A good effort for a new writer. Three stars for putting one to paper. Please find a few beta readers or an editor. If you already have either, fire 'em. Wwaayy too much crying, constant crying. Also not a believable plot line. No one grieves for eight or nine years to this extreme and then is head over heels with the same pain after eight hours on a mountain side. I couldn't continue so maybe I missed the best part of the book. Keep on writing. I admire your efforts.

Action, adventure, anguish & amore!!

An action-packed, entertaining story with interesting characters & riveting plot lines.
Its a masterful combination of a coming out & life after death romance in an action/adventure story. Drawing the reader in a deeper connection to the characters increases the investment in the narrative, all while preventing boredom & doldrums from spoiling the experience.

Solid basis-shaky execution

The beginning of this book was very enjoyable, good characters and well-described locations. At some point, however, it became like a 1000 piece puzzle missing a dozen pieces. The transition from one scene to another didn’t always line up, like the author was trying to force the characters to go where she wanted them to without a logical reason as to how they got there.

Poorly written with a redeeming lesbian theme. The story rambled and was not believable. Stereotypical lesbian behaviors, sad but realistic. Lots of grammar errors to the point of becoming annoying.

I enjoyed reading this book loved the characters are the storyline. What I liked the most was how the author described the upstate scenery. It's like you are there so cool can't wait to read the next book.

A easy reading love story. The characters were fun to know. The challenges the loving couple overcame helped them achieve unity/engagement.
