The story started out innocently enough. Kate was living her life with her kids, the guys down the street, her best friend and her job as a school psychologist. Everything is pretty routine since Nick left her high and dry at the end of Discovery. She misses him but decides not to dwell on it. Instead, she has a girls' night out with her best friend and her new gifted friend, and her entire world changes.

I'm sure everyone suspects that Kate and her little family are being watched, but we don't find out until we get further into the story, just how closely she's being watched and from how many different directions. In this volume, we meet new people from new organizations, old friends and enemies, and then there's the return of Nick to the story. There are so many twists and turns that every time I thought I knew what was going on, it took me in a completely different direction. And no matter what is said to whom, everyone seems to have ulterior motives for every move. I empathize with Kate who just wants to lead a normal family life. Little does she know that one of the hugest dangers, in this second part of the series, will come from someone that everyone least expects.

I was simply amazed at how much the author's writing improved from one book to the next. The story continues to be fascinating and exciting. The danger and intrigue are palpable, and it is impossible to not be drawn in. The romance isn't limited, which makes it even more fun. The cliffhanger is annoying and perfect. I hope Ms Webster doesn't leave us hanging for long before giving us a finish to this trilogy. I, for one, am even more excited for the last part than I was for this one. I can't wait to see how the adventure continues.

Spoiler Alert.
Awsome book and series. Very well written and a great story line.
Nick has left his nieces and nephew with their foster mom, soon to be adopted mom to track down the evil man that abducted the kids and vows to take Kate as well. He wants to make sure that they are safe and will never have to deal with him again. He is also running from his feelings for Kate. He knows that the Association will come for them if them get involved. He leaves his friends there to watch over his family while his gone. While away he finds a young lady that was escaped Brooks to help him to track Brooks down.

Robert, Ryan and Jason help Kate with the kids to try to keep them safe from Brooks, the Association and help them learn to control their powers. They have all grown very close but Kate is very upset with the way Nick left her after the feels that they had started to feel for each other.

Alex has started to chat with someone on the Internet that claims to be a boy about her age. He has told her about people in the past that have had the power of fire like she does ending up hurting or killing someone. He claims that he can help her to get rid of her powers so that she will not hurt anyone. She's afraid to tell anyone about her fears and is hiding that she's been taking too someone on the Internet.

The Association has sent someone to kidnap Kate. They use a drug on her to make her lose her powers and leaves her in the middle of no where. She starts to think about Nick and the next thing she knows she's in his apartment but only in a ghost like form. Nick thinks that she's dead and starts to panic. Kate gets him calmed down only to see a girl come from his bedroom which upsets her so she turns to her body only to end up there again and see the same thing. Thinking that he was moved on and no longer has feelings for her she becomes very upset and try to project herself to someone else only to keep going back to Nick. After they find her she starts to a voice in her head telling her that his coming for her and oddly enough Maddy starts to gave bad dreams and tells Kate that the bad man is going to take her and Nick away.

What do you get when you mix mystery, romance, friendship, adopted foster children with special “gifts”, social media, gadgets and local south jersey places? You get a book that has something for everyone. I had the honor of receiving an ARC copy of “Exploration” by Char Webster. I could not put it down it hooked me from the beginning to end. The twists and turns were not over the top they were believable. It is about a single mom who adopts 3 gifted foster children who have special gifts. They need protecting from several entities who want to exploit their “gifts” for their own gain and will do anything to get the children. I can’t say enough about this book without giving away the twists and turns. The ending is a surprise I did not expect. I can’t wait for book number 3. I hope Char is writing now. I will definitely pre-order that book as well. It is truly a good read in my opinion.

I received an arc of this book for an honest review.

I absolutely loved it. Kate and her huge heart are amazing. She absolutely loves her kids and would do anything for them. The guys in this book just sound adorably hot and you can't help but picture who they might be in reality. If your looking for something with romance, some cool gifted people, something that will make you laugh and make you feel like your part of the story then this is the book for you. On the last page I just could the believe the ending. I want the next book like now. But will have to wait for Char to write it. It will be in my to read list as soon as the details are released.

Kate, Nick are back along with all their friends and some new ones. Kate and the kids are still learning and discovering their powers. At the same time old enemies and a new one is after them. Nick and Kate try to discover what type of relationship they may have.. This was a great read, the characters develop and strengthen as the characters grow. A few twists and turns as the story progresses and the inevitable cliff hanger. Definitely a great read, I enjoyed the entire story!

An enticing read for people who love mystery and adventure type books. I was upset Nick left Kate and was absolutely happy when he came back to her. Kate seems like such a strong character trying to hold all things together even during the toughest situations. This book is definitely exciting and the series itself is turning out to be one big adventure you won't want to put down.

This series is getting better and better! The first book introduced some amazing characters and situations. Exploration builds on those and gives you so much more.

Kate is hurting from Nick's disappearance, Nick is hurting from leaving Kate - so will these two ever get together? Robert and Co certainly hope so, even though it hurts them to see how low Kate is feeling. However, amongst all of this, you find out that there are yet more players involved, as well as new characters to meet.

Now, I will be honest here, and say that I did get a bit confused about just whose motivation was what as there seemed to be numerous branches suddenly appearing, each with their own agendas. If you stick with it though, it does become clear and at the same time, everything that you have been led to believe gets turned on its head. This book is guaranteed to keep you on your toes and make sure you don't skim-read. If you do, you'll get lost. Instead, take your time and savour every word, every moment and every plot line and character. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that I found, this book has definitely left me wanting more, and I can't wait for book 3 to come out. Definitely recommended.

Exploration is book 2 in the gifted series, and while it answered many questions left from book 1, it also created a entirely new set created and left unanswered...Char Webster did an amazing job as we pick back up in Kate's life with the kids and the cluster of chaos that surrounds them as they each discover the extent of their personal gifts. Just when I think I have a handle on what is happening Char yells monkey wrench and everything is upside down. This book kept me on the edge of my seat pouring over the pages in a desperate need to find a resolution at the end that I had so longed for from book 1!! Did I get it? Read it for yourself, it will not disappoint! I laughed and cried, was angry and wishing some would just step out of their own way. It has love, tenderness, and an ability to connect me with the characters. There are those you love and even those you will love to hate!

A fantastic read! Kate Sutton is an amazing character from the prequel Discovery. She is among the Gifted race, and seems to learn more about her abilities all the time. Her and her adopted children, her forbidden but perfect soul mate and his buddies continue on in this book dodging and preparing to take down enemies from previous such as the Association and the Division. But new ones have now come to light.
This journey is romantic, adventurous and quite comical. What I love most about this book is the way it flows from book one into two, but yet if you haven't read the first, it gives enough backstory to where you aren't confused and can completely understand what is going on.
It's a serious page turner, and about halfway in you may not see sunlight again until you are done. Thank you Char for another awesome book, and I so can't wait until the next!!

▪I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.▪

I really enjoy the unique story. However I am having a hard time relating to the characters. There are so many and I just can't connect with them the way I like. Making it difficult for me to really get into the story. I'm not ready to give up on the series, I really enjoy the adventure. Hopefully as the series progresses the characters will feel more real.

Exploration begins shortly after Discovery ends. Nick has left Kate at home with the kids while he searches for the killer. Exploration is a whirlwind of action, suspense, paranormal, and romance. I love this series. The unique storyline paired with the fully developed characters makes a thoroughly enjoyable read. The author's great skill at weaving all the different elements together again seems more in line with a seasoned author, rather than a second installment. I can

Love the storyline. 3 kids with gifted abilities find the perfect foster/adopted mom who will do anything to protect them. This is not a standalone book. But the second book flows very nicely from the first. You get a lot of closure from the first book. Pretty crazy dramatic storyline. Great chemistry between characters. Pretty good book.

Kidnappings and abandonment.

Nick does something stupid in this one by leaving Kate & being gone for over 2 months. Kate is furious & ready to write him off. There are so many people trying to get her that it's ridiculous. There is the Association, the Division, Brooks, & Santos. Plus anyone in the ancient blood line that had their powers bound. Yet, Kate still infuriates me & keeps acting like she doesn't need protection. She keeps the house unlocked & she has no security system. That is just reckless especially when their are people still wanting her kids. Alex develops a new power but her power doesn't have a good history. Most people with it have problems controlling it. Kate gets kidnapped only to be left in a field with no car key. The guys have become permanent fixtures in her house. They are there every night for dinner. A shopping trip with Robert is like taking a kid with you. He puts all kinds of food in the cart. Mainly junk food & Kate eats healthy food. Cindy breaks up with her boyfriend only to get interested in one of the guys. You will meet a new character Grace that almost got Nick in hot water with Kate. Until things could be explained. Kate & Robert get new powers too. Robert's is cool except that he becomes a jerk about it.

Finding out that not only you, but your 3 foster kids are all Gifted can be quite a shock. Especially when you knew nothing of this world until they came to live with you. Thankfully Kate has an expert in super hunky Nick to help her maneuver through this new information. Unfortunately Nick takes off on a quest and leaves Kate to figure things out on her own. Trying to figure out not only your new powers but training your kids to keep theirs under control is a daunting task. Kate is not only up for it, but is excelling. Finding herself in more than one undesirable situation has her not only wanting to stand up for herself but to fight back. For herself. For her children. And for all of the Gifted!

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~

Exploration started off a few weeks after Discovery ended. This book took you on a roller coaster just like the first book did. You get a more inside look at what the association is, and you get to see some of the division. We get to see some new gifts from new people. This book was slow in parts, and a lot of jumping back and forth from character to character. The flow was kind of choppy, but evened out near the middle and the end. Char is a wonderful writer. Her books are amazing!

I loved this book. It involves many of the same characters from Discovery, the first book in this series, and there was definitely enough going on to drive my reading forward. There are many great experiences in this book (and quite a few dangerous ones as well), and it even ends with a great jumping off point for the next book in this series. I would recommend this book for anyone that enjoys stories with a slight paranormal edge to them.

The Gifted Series is WOW!!!

I love this series and will read the third book tonight.
The characters are complex and likable or evil. The plot keeps you guessing and the author keeps the tension tight as you root for your favorites to prevail over evil.
Highly recommend!!
