Barefoot Beach by Debbie Mason is a lovely romance novel filled with suspense, a sexy firefighter and one headstrong female lead.

I honestly wish I had read the full series before I got to this book. Even though it works as a stand alone, I felt like I wanted to know more of the background story. For one, there's a ghost in this story that made me really want to know how the supernatural made it into this book. There's also so many other romances that are hinted at that I would have love to see come together. Either way, the book is still good but I highly suggest reading the full series to make it to this book.

Theia and Marco are the two leads - a headstrong pilot who finds out more about herself in this journey and a sexy firefighter who does not want to have his family play matchmaker for him. Well, turns out that whole matchmaking idea is thrown out of the window when he meets Theia. We learn a fair bit about Marco's ex in this story too, which had me wondering if there was a previous book about her.

The duo definitely have a sexy, slow burn romance story. When we do get to the romance, it's pretty darn hot and suggestive. It honestly felt like the best of both worlds for me - I like slow burn where their relationship builds over time but I also love the sexy and steamy romances. Also, they weren't the "typical" couple (let's be honest though, this type of couple is becoming more common...) where he doesn't want a relationship and she is headstrong, secure with her life and doesn't need no man. Well, until they meet each other and spend a lot of time with each other. But who doesn't want a sexy firefighter/paramedic with rock hard abs, amazing cooking skills and a sweet heart?

There's also this fun "side story" with Theia being related to one of the major families of this series. I'm sure there's a lot more to this story line throughout the series, especially with the whole ghost thing, but I found it interesting. It's something I would have loved to know the back story for. The book does give you enough information to get along though.

Overall, this book is full of fun banter and witty comments. I really enjoyed this novel and hope to read more in this series. Debbie knows how to make an entertaining romance book that moves fast enough to keep you interested but slow (burn) enough to leave you grasping onto the novel.

Four out of five stars!

Great romance read takes place during wedding season.
Thela is back in Harmony Harbor because of her boss.
Marco has a grandmother who is part of the matchmaking women of the town. But when he meets Thela they decide to pretend they are together. As they keep pretending then real attraction and emotions come into play.
I found the matchmakers to be annoying at times and makes me glad that I never had a family like that lol.
I received this from Forever and NetGalley for review.

Theia is back in Harmony Harbor and her boss is the one that has her stuck there for at least a month. Thanks to some rowdy twins on her flight and a fireman who thinks he saved her she has to wait for her plane to be fixed. What's a girl to do? She can't wait to leave and hates what she has agreed to do for her boss but her past just won't let her go. She feels she must right wrongs and needs the money to accomplish that so she is stuck in a town she doesn't want to be in spying on people that she likes. Meanwhile fire fighter Marco is dealing with his own issues. He has women in his life that think she should be married by now and they are eager to set him up with some new arrivals. He's not ready to get married and knows that his Mrs. Right hasn't come along yet. It doesn't help that the women they are trying to set him up with are sisters and they don't mind fighting over him. Marco decides to ask Theia if she will help him and pretend to be his new girlfriend. She agrees and doesn't see the harm in pretending until things start to feel and seem real. She isn't sure what she wants to do though, she has never been good with relationships and doesn't quite know how to deal with her feelings. When a secret emerges about Theia Marco sees her in a different light and doesn't want anything more to do with her. Theia hurt and confused thinks it's time for her to leave town and try to move on with her life. Follow along as Theia and Marco not only deal with the feelings they have for each other but the secrets that can't remain hidden anymore. Will true love win in the end or are these two destined to be alone forever. I love this series and the wonderful detail the author puts into every word. The characters are fun and easy to get to know, you'll be rooting for love when it comes to each of them. The plot lines are put together in a way that takes you right into the story and doesn't let you out until the end. I can't wait for each new book and always look forward to what she has to offer in her writing!!!

I received an ARC of this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Received in exchange for a honest review.

First and foremost, if you haven’t read any of the previous books in this series you may get lost because there are a lot of characters in this book. A lot of characters you meet in the past books and some new ones.

True to form Debbie Mason has written a fun, entertaining romance filled with great banter, fun times, family, love, loyalty and forgiveness. We see pain and learning to let go of guilt and the past as well. And Theia has to do this in spades.

Theia-very headstrong and wonderful. I love how she helps the girls learn to be proud of what they can do. I love the slow burn of the romance of her and Marco. She is a good person but she is los in her own guilt and past. She is also very loyal to her boss who it seems has more going on than meets the eye and I think she is seeing that more and more and is becoming wary but trusts him and is loyal to him. I didn’t like her motives when she first cameto Harmony Harbour but as she grew more and more attracted to Marco and started to fall in love you see her open her eyes more and see everything around her. She sees family, friendships, love, and hardworking honest people. A group that believes in family and a family’s buisness. A family that is together no matter what even when they don’t really agree or like the other. I love how her and Marco are together. He helps her heal and see beyond what she thought. She isn’t a bad character quite the opposite in fact she is just on a journey that she needed Harmony Harbour and Marco to help jumpstart.

Marco-he is great. Fun, strong, sexy, sweet and an all around great guy. When he and Theia begin this fake relationship you see all the facets of him. I love how supportive he is of girls being independent and learning to do things. I love how supportive of Theia he is as well. He believes in her and wants her to believe more in herself and her talents. It isn’t that she doesn’t believe in that it is more muted due to guilt. Marco helps her heal and let go.

The romance-a fun slow burn. These two start out as acquaintances (annoying ones for Theia at first) and slowly become more. The attraction is through the roof and it does take over at one point. But before that we really get to see these two learn to love and trust one another. We see them be supportive and real.

The story-fun and entertaining. Sweet and sexy. I love the banter of the characters especially Marco and Theia.

A story of forgiveness, family, trust and love. Of healing and letting go and finding your way to where you are meant to be. One with fun times and sad times but no matter what we see everyone support and stand with the ones they love and their friends. Another win for Debbie Mason in this series.

When Theia Lawson ends up spending the summer in Harmony Harbor for her job she quickly becomes involved with the local families and drama, including a certain man she can't seem to stay away from. Meanwhile, Marco DiRossi is desperate to get out from under the influence of the local matchmakers (including his grandmother), so he decides to take matters in his own hands. He convinces Theia to start a fake relationship for the summer; but this game of pretend quickly turns into a real attraction for them both. However when secrets form the past are shared, will they be able to find their way forward?

This is the eighth book of the Harmony Harbor series, but the first one I've read. While there were plenty of references to previous books and the backstories of other characters I was still able to follow along with no problem. However, now that I read and loved this book I definitely want to go back and read the rest of this story. The town of Harmony Harbor is definitely full of drama and fun characters and Barefoot Beach was the perfect summer beach read. I loved the way the relationship between Theia and Marco developed, although at times I felt like some of the plot points moved too quickly for me. Overall, an incredibly enjoyable read and I can't wait to go back through the rest of the series!

This was my first time reading anything by Debbie Mason and I'm so glad that I picked this up and read it , I can see why mt friend Shelleen loves reading her books and told me she was good because she is , her romances are just like I seem to love them lately, which is funny , and cute as well as adorable with a touch of mystery , secrets , lies , a questionable disappearance or a murder that may or may not have happened mixed with a paranormal feel to it , the characters are likable and you can get lost in the story , she also has away of bring her places that she writes about to life and they seem to jump of the page as does her characters, because once you start to read your hooked , you get pulled in to the story and want to keep reading and seeing what happens next . And the more you read the more you get lost in the story and you won't stop until your at the very end, which is what happened to me , after rereading this one I want to read the rest of this series , and I can't wait to read more by her , with that said I want to thank Forever as well as Grand Center Publishing for send me a copy of exchange for my honest opinion

BAREFOOT BEACH, the eighth novel in the popular Harmony Harbor series by Debbie Mason, is a book of “so manys”. So many characters, so many secrets, so many plot twists and so many delights!
A large corporation is planning to change the face of peaceful, coastal town Harmony Harbor but the locals are not happy about it. They especially don’t want the historical, family owned Greystone Manor torn down and replaced with condos. When corporate pilot Theia Lawson flies family members to a wedding at the mysterious Manor, she is also working an undercover mission to convince some family members to sell their shares of the Manor to the cooperation. Through a series of mishaps, she ends up staying at the Manor while her plane is repaired. Not only does this give her the chance to get to infiltrate the family, but she also meets a sexy firefighter that she can’t seem to get off her mind. Will he be able to accept her when he finds out what she’s really up to? And will Theia be able to accept family secrets that are uncovered that unexpectedly affect her?
Debbie Mason has seamlessly intertwined several stories in BAREFOOT BEACH. There is romance, mystery, family, the paranormal and espionage all rolled up into a fast-paced, satisfying summer read. The two lead characters are strong and extremely likeable, in spite of Theia’s questionable mission. The many secondary characters bring realism and depth to the story, and the paranormal characters, great grandmother Colleen and her cat, bring the comic relief.

All aspects of BAREFOOT BEACH are well-written, but I do have one complaint. It does not do well as a standalone novel. While I have read other Harmony Harbor novels, I have not read the entire series. By book #8, there are so many characters that I was totally confused for a while. I felt like I needed a chart to keep them all straight. Once I sorted the characters out, however, the book was a joy to read.

I would recommend BAREFOOT BEACH to readers that enjoy sweet romances and mysteries. I am giving it four stars.

I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and the views expressed are my honest opinions.

For those who follow me, they know how much I totally love Debbie Mason. Her books always make me feel!

Sometimes I'm happy, other times I want to yell at the characters. But in the end, she always leaves me satisfied. What more could you ask for in an author?

We are heading towards the finish of the Harmony Harbor series. Not to worry the author is good at surprising you with a fun novella story here or there for her series. Plus her new series sounds so good. I can't wait for it.

I've been hoping for Marco's story since we first met him. I wasn't sure what kind of woman could steal his heart but I knew she'd have to be very special to do so. At first, I wasn't sure if Theia was special enough. In the prior book, I didn't trust her very much so I wasn't sure. But as I read Barefoot Beach I saw just how special she was.

I will admit I totally fell in love with her. She is the sweetest woman that could be. And she's perfect for Marco. She's both tough and a marshmallow underneath. I think Marco needs that kind of woman. He needs one that can stand beside him holding strong when times are tough but will also treat those around her nicely.

This turned out to be a very special book. A ton happens and some of it very shocking. Even though each story in this series stands on its own with its own storyline you still had a common thread that ran through each book. Like the prior books, you find out a little more about the common thread but still don't have the full picture. I'm sure we'll get that with the next book. I really can't wait.

I suggest you read this series in order. Each book will work better that way. Plus, you really get to know the main characters that are in most of the books. This is why I love series so much. Reading them is like going home.

Just when you think all the secrets are going to stay secret in Harmony Harbor, The Secret Keeper of Harmony Harbor book rears his head and on top of that, The Widow’s Club is matchmaking again. This time they have their sites on Theia Lawson and Marco DiRossi.. Theia is back in town to help Daniel Gallagher keep his word for her boss, she wants to get in and get out, but sexy firefighter Marco has other thoughts on that. Marco needs a diverson from the matchmakers and he thinks Theia is just the gal to help him. Only things get muddled and the two find they have more sparks that the 4th of July…
Secrets and family conspire with the two to make it a summer of love and romance at the beach.
I loved this story, I think it is my favourite books so far. We have a whole cast of characters and who doesn’t love a mansion haunted by the ghost of the matriarch of the family. Through her great-great-great grandchildren, who are the only ones who can see her, she is the star of the show and keeps the family and friends on their toes and on to the path of happiness..
I can’t wait to see who is next to be matched up in Harmony Harbor…..

Every time I read a book in this series I fall in love with it all over again. I just love the characters to pieces. It makes me wish I could visit Harmony Harbor. I loved Marco and Theia. It may have started out as pretend in their minds, but there was no way the chemistry was going leaveit that way. Marco is a delicious fireman and he has many swoon worthy moments. Then Theia shows you the inner strength and the beauty of girl power. Though her reasons for why she is at Greystone Manor aren't on the up and up you know in your gut she a good person. Her true colors will outshine the darkness she thinks she deserves to be in. With every book in the series secrets are a big part of the book. There are several secrets going on that alter lives some for the good and some that prey on minds. These secrets could tear families and relationships apart. This book was so hard to put down because I'm so invested in those in the Greystone Manor. The characters pull you right in and they don't you up for air until you're finished reading. It's a book you want to gobble up, but one you hate to see end. It's definitely a must read!

4 star review of Barefoot Beach (Harmony Harbor #8) By Debbie Mason

Debbie Mason is a new author to me. I didn’t realise that this was book 8 in the series and although it can be read as a stand alone it may be beneficial to read the previous books in the series as I think it will make the read more enjoyable.

It appears that the people of Harmony Harbor have decided that Theia Lawson should be next to find happiness. Marco DiRossi is a firefighter and he is determined to best the nosy matchmakers at their own game so he enlists Theia to pretend they have fallen in love. After all it’s only for the summer, what could go wrong? As their pretend relationship slowly morphs into more, will they take a chance?

Secrets have a way of surfacing and Theia has many. What will happen to the blossoming relationship when they are revealed?

Will Marco get over his initial reaction and decide that Theia is worth the risk or are they destined to be alone forever?

I received a copy of this book through the publisher via Netgalley.

I was lucky enough to win an early copy of this book. This book is a part of a series that I have only read one other in this series (Sandpiper Shore) but is enjoyable enough as a stand alone. There were a few times in the beginning I had to sort through who was who and how they related to each other.

Theia finds herself stuck in Harmony Harbor longer than originally planned after being saved by an attractive fireman. They are immediately attracted to each other physically yet personalities clash at first. Theia is a strong willed ex navy pilot that doesn't need anyone to help her with anything and Marco the hometown hero who wants to help everyone. There is also a matchmaker in town and in order to avoid her spell, they pretend to be together. As the summer comes to an end they find that maybe just maybe they didn't avoid that spell after all.

Overall I enjoyed this book, I do wish I had read all of the others first. I plan on going back and catching up on this series over the summer. :)

I'm sad to be writing this review because Debbie Mason is one of my favorite authors and I've read nearly every one of her books and enjoyed them. Unfortunately, this book just wasn't my favorite.

I'm torn because I love seeing the pieces of the mystery that surrounds Greystone Manor and the Gallagher family come together with each new book. However, this time around I feel like the mystery aspect took precedence over the romance between Marco and Theia. I just didn't feel connected to them as a couple and, even though I was able to see how they were perfect for each other, I wish that there was more of a focus on the romance between them. Their relationship came across as a little rushed to me in order to make room for more of the secrets of the Gallagher family to be revealed.

It could also be my mood at the time of reading this. I was going through a bit of a slump and read this with just a few days before our family vacation started so that could've affected my opinion. I will probably reread this at another time to see if my feelings change.

Another phenomenal read from a talented author! With small-town charm, a tight-knit community, an emphasis on family, and the Gallagher family’s ephemeral matriarch and her feline familiar, Simon, it’s the perfect setup for a heartfelt storyline. Add to that drama, danger, surprises, lies and betrayal, and this book kept me glued to its pages from beginning to end.

Barefoot Beach has just the right mix to make it the perfect escape read and the book to pack on your next vacation. Full of poignant emotion, tons of heart and a strong family bond, these characters will easily find a place on your heart, so don’t miss their amazing story!

Barefoot Beach is full of love, surprises, drama & family. The characters are well written & mesh together perfectly. Small town living was well documented from the gossipy women’s club to the intrusive matchmakers. This is an entertaining clean romance that brings family love, history & drama into the forefront. It grabs your attention from the first page & keeps you involved until the end.

Marco wants to find his significant other but something holds him back. Until he meets his match. Theia is determined to stay single, until she meets Marco. The attraction between them is apparent from the beginning. With the betrayal, surprises & danger, along with all the family drama, Marco & Theia have to also overcome their past fears to find a way to trust each other & fight for their future. I loved Caine & hope his story is coming up!

I would like to say...I did not realize this was a series....that’s on me.
.
Let’s talk what I loved:
I loved the setting.
I loved the hot fireman.
I loved the ghost aspect and how it was just a sprinkle, not completely overrun with paranormal.
I loved the strong female protagonist.
I really liked that this is a romance I would recommend to a variety of people.
.
What I didn’t love:
I did not feel really invested in the characters.
I think they were skimmed over and would have like more time with them.
I did not understand the backstory...but I’m pretty sure that is because I didn’t know the books prior to this one.
The romance was a little vanilla for me.
.
Overall it was enjoyable...but I’m not sure I would continue the series.

Barefoot Beach was a funny, light romance read, good for this season. It features 2 families from Harmony Harbor, the DiRossis and the Gallaghers and the romance between Marco DiRossi and Theia, an ex-military plane fighter.

It's also about the enmity the Gallagher family has with Caine and his family. Barefoot Beach is book 8 in this series and, while the romance may be read as a standalone, the plot regarding the families isn't. I felt lost at the events, like what was happening didn't truly make sense because I missed some previous information so it all could make sense now.

A nice touch that I enjoyed much was the Gallagher ghost, she was so much fun, the way she was present with her relatives, unseen for most of them, and her thoughts and remarks.

Nobody can get under my skin, quite like Debbie Mason. Her appeal is more subtle, but no less powerful. Barefoot Beach takes the long route to a heart. Theia is in need of some tough love, but what she gets is a good does of matchmaking from the town locals. Marco has a plan that could blow up in their faces or run away with their hearts. Mason turns summer lovin' into captivating reading that tempts the body and touches the heart.

What come to mind when you think summer reads?
To me is a small sea side town romance, weddings, florals, sea side mansions...

Barefoot Beach fits the brief. There is even an old mansion ghost!
And I guess that this is why even though it was a great story I am giving it a 3. I felt a sense a deja-vu throughout the book. The plot was a little too close to a summer read from last year.

Still a good read though.... have fun!

This is book 8 in the Harmony Harbor series and the second to last one. If you haven’t read those that came before, I highly recommend you do because you will enjoy this book so much more, know the characters by heart by now, and be able to fully appreciate everything that happens without skipping a beat. That said, I guess you could just jump in and read it if you really wanted to but I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s better not to miss out on the past 7.
That said, this book was good. It wasn’t my favorite but it certainly wasn’t bad by any means at all. It was still terrific. I’m going to have to tell you why now I think, but first, a little about the book (spoiler free of course).
It’s time for weddings! That must mean it’s summer in Harmony Harbor and Greystone Manor is a busy place. When Theia Lawson, former navy pilot, makes a return trip to the manor this time delivering Daniel’s two estranged daughters in a reconciliation attempt, the matchmaking society is ready to get her matched up! Of course, it doesn’t take long for her to find some deep dark eyes to fall into. She can’t wait to high tail it out of Harmony Harbor!
Marco DiRossi, firefighter extraordinaire, after being set up with just about everything that is female, takes matters into his own hands and makes a pact with Theia. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that. Right?
This book has a whole lot going on between Theia landing her plane and the pact they make but it’s complicated in a way. Spoiler-ish. Some dirty dealings are going on. Some plotting and conniving Things like that. I can’t get into all of that in the brief description but you’ll see. It’s not just she gets there and they make a deal. It actually takes a little while.
This book almost felt like two books. It does one thing and if felt like it was wrapping up and then BAM! Something happens that makes your jaw drop because it was so out of nowhere in some ways. That’s followed by something else and all that happens in the last 25% or less of the book. So, you have something to look forward to at the end.
This is a good book with more strong characters. If you like the Harmony Harbor series you should like this book. You’ll get to see all the characters again and meet a few more. So, read on my friends. Read on.

A delightful small town romance that will steal your heart this summer, you are sure to fall in love with Debbie Mason’s enchanting new novel, Barefoot Beach.

As soon as Theia Lawson sets foot in Harmony Harbor, the local matchmakers all have one mission in mind: to set her up with a suitable bachelor and have her walking down the aisle before the end of the summer. Everybody loves weddings at Harmony Harbor and the majestic Greystone Manor is always the perfect location for memorable celebrations. Theia is only in town for a very short stay – she certainly has no plans to stick around. However, when she claps eyes on tall, dark and extremely handsome firefighter Marco DiRossi, could she have found a reason to make her stay in Harmony Harbor more permanent?

Nothing would make Rosa DiRossi happier than to see her grandson walk down the aisle and beginning a lifetime of marital bliss. Unrequited love had broken Marco’s heart and made him determined to erect an impenetrable wall around himself and keep feelings and emotions at bay. Marco doesn’t think he can ever love anyone ever again – unfortunately his grandmother is not convinced! An Italian grandmother is not averse to using every single trick in the book to see her grandson married and Theia’s arrival in town gives Marco a fantastic idea that could get Rosa off his case for the summer.

A pretend relationship seems to be the answer to all of his problems. A convenient summertime fling purely for show is just what Marco needs to see Rosa smile and to keep her from throwing every single woman within a ten mile radius his way. But when the summer season begins to come an end, Marco and Theia’s feelings for one another intensify. There is absolutely nothing convenient about their feelings for one another. Are they ready to take a leap of faith and a chance on love? Or will secrets from the past jeopardize their chance at a happy ever after?

Full of charm, warmth and heart, Barefoot Beach is a wonderful romantic read I struggled to put down. A book that will tug at your heartstrings and make you laugh out loud, Barefoot Beach is a fantastic tale about taking chances, new beginnings and falling in love when you least expected it that is scintillating, engrossing and terrific from start to finish.

Theia and Marco are fantastic characters you cannot help but fall in love with. Theia is a smart and intelligent heroine and Marco is a sexy firefighter hero sure to make you swoon.

Debbie Mason is a wonderful writer who pens books that never fail to charm and delight. Fast-paced, impossible to put down and irresistible, her latest novel Barefoot Beach is an excellent summer romance that has winner written all over it.

This book barely takes place on a beach and Barefoot is not mentioned once. Why title a book "Barefoot Beach" when it doesn't actually takes place on a beach, but in a manor.? Weird… anyways, this is the second book in the Harmony Harbor series that I have read and I have to say that I liked the other one much better. This book is titled Barefoot Beach involves Marco who is a very hot firefighter and Theia, a retired navy flight fighter. With the town's matchmaker on the prowl, Marcos decides to ask Theia if she can be his fake girlfriend and I'm sure you can imagine how this plays out. Will Theia stay in Harmony Harbor for love or will her secrets keep her from finding love? Let's find out.

I was really entertained by the premise of the story, but I did not care much for the romance
aspect of the story. You see, there is this weird thing with family marrying each other. Not like sister and brother, but more like cousin in laws and this was very off putting to me. This town made it seem like there were only two families that you could marry and it was very weird and I can't really go deep into it without spoiling it, but these two families marry each other and it really should cause some type of gene mutation. I mean not really, but everything is kept in the family for sure. On the other hand, this story has suspense, intensity and, to be completely honest, was the saving grace of the story. As I mentioned before, the romance was meh and their chemistry was not there. I feel as if the author was so busy trying to set up the suspense and mystery of the story that the romance was kind of an afterthought.

The strange thing about this story is the fact that a ghost is giving all of details of the story and reveals the big secret. I really would have liked for the scenes to play out, but they were told to me instead of showed and that happens a lot in this story. This story is filled with twist and turns in which I love, but there is one scene in question that I loathe. Don't worry it's not a spoiler, but Marco receives a phone call about a major plot point in the story and the name of the caller is never revealed or mentioned again. What? I need details and facts to put this story together and I am missing some pieces. A villain is in the story and when he decides to show his face in place, things start to really move and with this character is excitement and action.

Although I enjoyed this story, I will have to give this story a 3.5 rating. The suspense and the
story arc was great but the romance was left out in the bitter cold and this is supposed to centered around romance…So yeah…. My tea turned cold while reading this book because the romance did not give me chills and this is what I live for.

So many feels! Barefoot Beach by Debbie Mason is the eighth installment of Harmony Harbor which follows the story of one family in a small town. I’ve enjoyed every minute of this series, but let me tell you something….I loved this one! Marco and Theia’s story is aching sweet and super steamy from page one. I’ll even admit to shedding a tear or two for this couple and their plight.

Theia Lawson was first introduced a couple of books ago as a freelance pilot. She picked up a few flights for the manor, flying in guests. What wasn’t known is that she is working for Wicklow Developments….remember them?! That’s the company that is trying to buy Greystone Manor and turn it into a condo development. I was not expecting that twist in her story. Theia is a retired navy pilot, she’s honest to a fault, and extremely loyal. That last one is the kicker. Her loyalty is to the wrong people. Despite all this I had a hard time seeing her as the villain and you’ll see why if you read it.

Marco DiRossi is the older brother of Sophie (remember her from the first book!) and Liam Gallagher’s best friend. I have loved Marco since the beginning. He is the golden boy: firefighter, paramedic, lifeguard, oh and he owns a food truck and can cook wonders. What you see is what you get with him. He doesn’t try to hide anything. Marco is an open book, except when it comes to love. So far he has managed to stay out of Rosa DiRossi’s matchmaking schemes, but his luck runs out here. And truly he isn’t ready.

Theia and Marco’s meet-cute is not so cute, but it is hilarious. Let’s just say a little mix up causes Theia to get soaked with Marco’s firehose. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed thta hard when reading one of Mason’s books. Naturally they get off on the wrong foot, but there is instant chemistry. Marco finds her intriguing, and Theia may drool over him a little….which I don’t blame her in the least! However her involvement with Wicklow Developments is waiting to implode.

Overall I really enjoyed Barefoot Beach. I couldn’t sit it down. I finished it in less than 24 hours and regret nothing! Marco and Theia are my favorite couple from Harmony Harbor so far. Though I’ll admit I can’t wait to read the next one which involves my favorite holiday AND the grandson of the CEO of Wicklow. If you enjoy sweet, contemporary romance with a little insta-love and a ghost or two, I highly recommend you make this your beach read this summer.

ARC REVIEW

Harmony Harbor #8, As always the blurbs of these books only cover part of the story, and that's because there is always so much story. I have read all the previous books and I don't think this would be a good stand alone I think it could be done but because all the drama with the manor and the huge family it might lose some people. I can't get enough of it, I freakin' love this series so I would recommend reading all the books. It's a heartfelt small town romance with enough family drama to keep it interesting, especially in the last two books.

Theia Lawson has faced adversity in her life first from her uncle, the man who raised her, and her cousins then from the Navy and becoming a fighter pilot. Theia is no wilted flower she is as stubborn as she is competitive and no has ever challenged her or created such lust in her like Marco DiRossi. Marco isn't interested in a relationship right now everytime he gets close to proposing he clams up, he freezes so maybe he's just not cut out for it. But when Daniel Gallagher has another near miss with death and calls in his daughters Marco knows the matchmaking grandmas are going to be bugging him. Theia's the pilot who flies in the sisters but thanks to one the twin terrors her plane gets set on fire and almost crashes. And then they meet. Theia doesn't like Marco at first, she attracted to him, but she doesn't like him. Marco is fascinated with the hardheaded Theia from the get go. After both his grandma and Kitty Gallagher try to set him up with two different women he realizes the key to being left alone is by pretending to be already dating someone, Theia. They soon realize they aren't pretending. But Theia has secrets, secrets that can ruin everything.

Overall, this is one of my favorites so far. I stayed up way too late reading this last night I could not put it down. I fell in love with Marco and Theia. With everything that was going on it pulls at your heartstrings and gives you a very satisfying ending.

I jumped at this title because, with a title Barefoot Beach, I figured there would be nice cozy, summer beach scenes and a sizzling summer romance. Wrong on both accounts. The setting is near the beach, but it really does not involve the beach all that much, and I really did not see the “barefoot” part of it at all. All in all, it was a good, but not exceptional, book. Hoping to beat the town match makers at their own game, hunky firefighter Marco DiRossi sets up a situation where he and Theia, a former combat fighter pilot, pretend to be in Love. However, there is a lot of secrecy in their pasts conspiring to make this work only too well. Throw in an older family patriarch, Daniel, his two sons and two daughters, not to mention a family ghost who crops up everywhere and anywhere, looking like she is trying to run things and things only become more complicated.

I enjoyed watching Marco and Theia interact. Both were strong characters and thus has “met their matches” in more ways than one. Obviously, Daniel’s two daughters, each with baggage and secrets of their own, also were taken in by Marco, his charms and good looks, only making the story spicier than ever. As I read the book, though I knew Marco and Theia would end up together, I did not see much chemistry between them—or much romance either. Still, it was interesting to watch the three females (Theia and Daniel’s two daughters) as they reacted, each in her own way, to Marco. I decided I like the way Theia took things in her own way the best. Marco was definitely smooth—almost too smooth and charming to be believable. There is some mystery in the story, some romance and a lot of pretty good writing and interesting characters, so, all in all, as I said, the book was okay for me. It makes a good summer read, whether on the beach, in your air-conditioned easy chair, or traveling. The story reads a bit slow at times, but there are other times when it makes up for this. I have read some, though not all of the other books in the series, and this one will never be my favorite, but I did find it interesting enough to recommend. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.

I have loved the Harmony Harbor series full of family with all of the craziness involved, one determined (long passed) matriarch of the family who is dedicated to seeing her descendants happily wed, quite a few long-buried secrets that slowly make their way to the surface and an enemy to all that this family holds dear is lurking in the wings. Now tell me – what is not to love about that? It feels as if we are nearing the ending of this series, and I will be sorry to leave Harmony Harbor but what a ride it’s been and continues to be with BAREFOOT BEACH.

Theia is holding a secret close and guarded. What she didn’t expect was to be asked to play pretend girlfriend to the town’s hottest good guy, Marco. When that secret gets out (and they always do) the pretend no longer feels false but the real feelings between Theia and Marco are now in jeopardy. Somehow they have to fight past the truth, no matter how ugly, and get back to the love they felt mixed in with the pretend. Town matchmakers, a wedding happy ghost and her sidekick are working hard to make this romance a lifetime commitment. Now Theia and Marco have to decide if what they had is real enough to really fight for.

BAREFOOT BEACH left me with a smile on my face, so many feels, and a satisfying visit to Harmony Harbor. I’m repeating myself, but I do love this crazy town and the people who live there. Haven’t visited here yet? Well, each story could stand on its own in many ways, yet… they each connect as well with characters, and a series arching secret yet to be revealed. My suggestion would be to start from the beginning if you can. It’s an amazing journey that if you love a good Romance you won’t want to miss.
