I didn't realize when the blurb said "super hero" it actually meant a real superhero, like a Flash wannabe type of superhero. I just couldn't on board with it and on top of that I found some parts of the story hard to follow. I didn't feel connected to either character and together I didn't find them to be a believable couple. Their dialogue actually drove me insane sometimes and read more like a bunch of nonsense filler instead of actual conversation.
Overall not the story for me but I think it's a unique plot and that many people will enjoy it.

Emmalina (Emma) Crist was out to prove herself that she could make it on her own. She was content to get a night shift job at a hotel, but her new boss Reece Richards, owner by day and Bolt the superhero by night, would make her life much more interesting.
I randomly chose this book because I wanted something fun and slightly silly. Unfortunately my gamble was a bust. I had hard time trying to follow the story due to connection/continuity issues. Things tend to just jump around without proper tethering. Yes Bolt the superhero could jump around due to his power, but the story itself couldn't act the same without losing readers' focus.
There's also the major plot hole issue with why/how/who involving Bolt and The Consortium. The superhero significance was lost without the superhero background. There were a lot of sex scenes which should have make me happy but it just felt tedious to me because I couldn't feel the sparks between the characters.
On the surface, the story had a lot of potential in being a fun, sexy read, but it splattered without proper development. Too bad this one turned out to be a misadventure for me.

2.5 Electric feels stars!
A super hero with a secret identity. A bit of a love story. Some hot sexy times. Some awesome super hero happenings! For me those are ingredients for a smash hit. Misadventures with a Super Hero started off very strong. It was unique, fun, and interesting. Unfortunately the dialogue toward the middle and end just didn't work for me. So many times it felt like it just didn't make any sense, or as if the characters were just babbling on about stuff that didn't even really need to be talked about. It makes me sad, because I really enjoyed the majority of this book, and think it had a strong plot with so much potential.
I think if you really enjoy super hero stories, love stories, and smut. You will enjoy this read. Is it a homerun... meh. I'd say it's more of a double with one run in.

Another amazing book in the Misadventures series that I couldn't put down. After getting experimented on Reece hasn't been with a woman but that may change when he meets Emmalina. Emmalina can feel their connection a mile away but Reece has a secret that could make her run away from he. Reece soon realizes how different Emmalina is and is determined to never let her go, but when her life is in danger can he really keep her in his life? I love a good super hero read and this was an amazing read and I love Emma & Reece. This was my first book I read from Angel and it won't be the last

Reece is like a caveman at times, “She’ll partner with me.” My growl isn’t answered by anyone else. There’s no more time anyway." There are times Reece is just too eager of a man, "...she topples backward onto the seat, yanking me into the car after her. I barely drag the door closed before Z has the motor gunned and the car in motion, lurching my lips onto hers..." I liked this book, I loved Reece.

Reece is hiding out in one of his families less trafficked hotels when he meets the new employee, Emmalina Crist. To say their meeting is electrifying is an understatement. Boy, the things Reece can do with his super power is smokin!
I’m a sucker for a super hero story. I like reading and watching people kick butt! There’s a lot of chemistry, a lot of butt kicking and the usual struggle of doing the right thing when Reece’s kidnappers track him down. This was a unique and fun story. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Super cute, sexy, and so much fun! I absolutely loved the sci-fi and comic book feel of the novel!! It was completely unexpected and a real pleasure to read. This series just keeps getter better and better.
In this installment, Emmaline, a night shift manager at a hotel, has no idea why her co-workers insist on labeling their boss weird. All she feels, when she meets Reece Richards, is pure unadulterated attraction. But Reece has a remarkable secret. She not only finds out his secret, but ends up gaining more than she anticipated.
What I enjoyed:
The paranormal element of the story took me by surprise. Yep, I had a serious duh moment while reading this one. LOL The comic book feel and insta-lust was a welcome surprise.
I enjoyed the ploy and pace of the novel. It grabbed my attention from the very first paragraph and help me in rapt attention throughout.
The writing was a bit flowery, but a strong plot and interesting characters made this an engaging read.
Overall, it was an interesting read. I'd never read Angel Payne before this book, but look forward to reading her again soon! Recommended for readers who enjoy insta-attraction and lust, paranormal romance, and scorching hot romance!

Misadventures of a Super Hero fits right in with the rest of the series. It's hot and steamy with that touch of action. Reece, man I loved him. I loved seeing the changes from start to end in him. The change is all good. Emmalina is a strong and sweet. She brings out the best sides of Reece. You can't help but want to be drawn into the electrifying chemistry these two have. I wish I could find my own super hero like Reece. This is a my first book by Angel Payne. I loved every minute of it. I couldn't put it down. Such an original read. This makes me want to pick up more. If you're looking for a different read especially in the realm of Sci-Fi/fantasy romance then pick this one up.

While everyone “feels” the weirdness of Reece, Emmalina just feels the currents his presence arouses in her body. They start their relationship fast, hot and heavy. So what if Reece insists his Velvet keep her eyes closed each time they come together. And isn’t it peculiar that that bruise on her bottom where he grabbed her feels like a burn?
This was a fast, fun read full of action, laughter and electrifying super hero feats! I loved Emmalina and Reece together as their chemistry ignites the pages with sizzle. With great secondary characters as well as a villainess, it also included The Consortium which I hope will show up in additional stories.

I am really enjoying the Misadventures series and Misadventures with a Super Hero by Angel Payne was no different. Though this was a little different in the sense that it is about a super hero and the woman he wants, I devoured the story.
Bolt, aka Reece Richards is Emma’s boss, as well as an heir to an empire and a known playboy. After being kidnapped, he is experimented on finds himself with super powers.
When Reece and Emma meet, you can feel their connection and chemistry. Emma works for one of his family’s hotels as a customer satisfaction manager. The sparks fly, the action kicks in and the story takes off.
Misadventures with a Super Hero was a unique and fast-paced read that will pull readers right in. These books have been quick, fun and sexy reads. Though they are part of a series, each is a complete standalone.

Okay, so this story-line is way outside my wheelhouse. My least favorite thing to read is paranormal and any sci-fy elements to a story I much more enjoy on screen but I wanted to read this entire series. I was intrigued from the moment it was announced and I knew there were going to be books that maybe were outside my comfort zone. But you know what, even tho this is something I just wouldn’t pick up on its own, I’m glad I stuck with it and read it! I enjoyed the heck out of the suspense element in the book but I enjoyed even more the journey of Emmalina and Reece!
For me, the book was unique and captivating, entertaining and very sexy.
This entire series so far has been a hit for me. I’ve enjoyed every book I’ve read and look forward to more in the future!

I tried to read this author once before and absolutely hated the story I read, so I went into this read with quite a bit of trepidation, especially since my OCD had me wanting to read the entire series, in order. I have to say that I was frankly shocked at my enjoyment of this book!
I loved Emma and Reese's relationship! It was on the steamy side, and yet each of their encounters was a logical one for the point of the relationship and story that they were in. I appreciated what qualities that each one found in the other, and enjoyed seeing the hotel staff in action.
However, I wish that there had been a lot more about Bolt! I wanted to know more about The Consortium, how Reese got turned into Bolt, I even wanted more scenes of Bolt in action! The superhero angle got downplayed a bit too much for my tastes, but I have to say that I did enjoy what was there in the story.
I have to say that I found it very refreshing to find another superhero romance story, and was glad to have read it. I must say that I am now eager to read the author's 2018 offering in the Misadventures series!

Misadventures with a Super Hero' by Angel Payne is Book Three in The "Misadventures" series. Reece was a known playboy , was heir to a huge hotel chain that was well known but something happened to him and he wasn’t the same after, especially he wasn’t with another woman after what happened. But then he meets Emma and his luck may change with her…Emma has just started working at the hotel that Reece's family owns and Reece runs it. There is a lot of chemistry between them, like really hot and sexy sparks!!! Reece soon realizes how different Emma is and is determined to not ruin things with her, to keep her close until danger is after Emma and that is when Reece wonders how close can he keep Emma , for can he even keep her in his life? What a truly good super hero read with drama, angst, and fantastic passion and fast past read that kept me on the edge of my seat.

This was quite an enjoyable read and my first “super hero” romance. It’s also the first time I’ve read anything from this author. It was witty, sexy and entertaining.
I enjoyed Emma and Reece and the intense chemistry they shared. Emma was a strong female intent on living life on her terms and outside the ‘norm’ expected from her family’s socialite expectations. She was well grounded and not swayed by the material things in life; which is what makes her connection with Reece so real. While everyone else is affected by his presence and money, she sees him as nothing but a very attractive man that affects her body in ways she craves...but it’s not just physical and since Reece relishes in the chance she’s given him to feel again after secluding himself for so long, he has the freedom to be himself without any judgement from her. And in this wonderful, shared connection - a great love grows.
Though the story was enjoyable, I would have liked more character development and a bit more closure for the characters and the story.

I am not sure how to classify this book as it was an interesting hybrid of genres… it was full of clever humor and snark, loaded with erotic sensual scenes, and had a sweet love story as well as a cute fantasy/Sci-Fi superhero crime-fighter base. Taken in totality, it was an entertaining tale that had me alternating between smirking, sighing, gasping, and searching out cool beverages to rehydrate. Written from my favorite dual POV, the storyline was amusing, creative, steamy, and intriguing. I enjoyed Ms. Payne’s humorous descriptions as well as the banter and wit in her characters’ inner musings, exchanges, and quips. I seldom dabble in the fantasy or Sci-Fi genres, but I enjoyed the refreshing change of pace as well as Ms. Payne’s creativity in the development of her plotline and characters, especially the main character of Reece. Reece had been a wealthy party boy/player and a paparazzi favorite who was known as “The Heir with the Hair” and “The Billionaire with the Bulge.” Snort. After being misled by one of his conquests, Reece found he had been turned into a research lab rat “of human DNA improvement through electronic enhancement.” Reece was no longer just hot stuff, he was supercharged hot stuff as he could shoot electrical currents from his fingers – how cool is that? He was circling the drain in misery though and taking chances without care until his attention landed on the captivating, clever, and feisty Emmalina, who jump-started his heart and got the juices flowing.

I enjoyed Ms. Payne’s humorous descriptions as well as the banter and wit in her characters’ inner musings, exchanges, and quips. I seldom dabble in the fantasy or Sci-Fi genres, but I enjoyed the refreshing change of pace as well as Ms. Payne’s creativity in the development of her plotline and characters, especially the main character of Reece. Reece had been a wealthy party boy/player and a paparazzi favorite who was known as “The Heir with the Hair” and “The Billionaire with the Bulge.” Snort. After being misled by one of his conquests, Reece found he had been turned into a research lab rat “of human DNA improvement through electronic enhancement.” Reece was no longer just hot stuff, he was supercharged hot stuff as he could shoot electrical currents from his fingers – how cool is that? He was circling the drain in misery though and taking chances without care until his attention landed on the captivating, clever, and feisty Emmalina, who jump-started his heart and got the juices flowing.

Emmalina is determined to get out from under her suffocating life in Orange County. She gets the job at Hotel Brocade working the night shift & is set on giving it her all, as she really loves the hotel & her coworkers.
Reece has been hitting the party scene hard, acting the spoiled, rich guy with endless partying & girls. He's a disappointment to his father & brother. I gave this book 3 stars, not because it wasn't a good book, but because it just wasn't my cup of tea. I liked it, but had a hard time getting invested in the characters & story. There were also times were I was just trying to figure out what was going on, almost like I might have accidentally skipped over an important paragraph or chapter & was missing something. But I would still recommend this book to someone who enjoys the super hero genre & tons of raunchy, sexy times!

Emmalina Crist is a young woman who is a new employee at a Richards Resort Hotel in the reservations department. She is trying to make something of herself by establishing her career and is currently working the night shift to accomplish that.
Reece Richards, is not only Emma's boss at the hotel, but he also is a partying playboy who has been a disappointment to his family. Not to mention he is the man that Emma is attracted to like a moth to a flame the first time she lays eyes on him.
When Emma has to deliver nightly reports to Reece's penthouse, the chemistry and connection just can't be stopped. It's hot, it's lustful and it's unstoppable. While Emma wants to protect herself and her job, there is no doubt she's drawn to this man more than any other before. Will the secret that he is harboring be the end of them before they really get going?
This book took quite a long time for me to get into and I think that is because this isn't the type of book that I would generally go for. It was out of my "comfort zone" and I wanted to give it a shot because of that. The book is good, but it just wasn't something I really enjoyed. I'm looking forward to moving on to the next book in the Misadventures series!

It starts out with the typical rich boy chasing hot girl. Then comes trouble with a capital T. What happens next is awful but Reece comes away from it determined to give back some good to the world. Emma works at the Hotel Brocade when she meets Reece a year later. His family owns the hotel and he’s in charge of it. Electricity is in the air and sparks fly when they meet. What a great imagination Angel Payne must have to come up with such a good storyline with Bolt as a super hero. I really loved how Emma stepped up and showed how strong she was when she was told the truth about Reece and Bolt. This is a very good book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Netgalley.

OMG!!! This book was SO incredibly fun to read!!
I love Angel and her writing style. And the fact that she brings us some SMOKING HOT heroes! Reece is definitely now on my list of top book-boyfriends!
Emmalina comes from a fairly pretentious family living in the OC, a county in Southern California. Growing up nothing more was expected of her than playing tennis, lunching with the ladies and marrying her kind. But she was determined to get out of Orange County and have MORE in her life. Landing a job at the Brocade, a high end hotel in the heart of LA, gets her one step closer to that dream.
Reece Richards is the youngest in the line of the Richards Empire. Taught from an early age to think of no one but himself, he's the epitome of spoiled playboy. And that is what lands him in trouble and turns him into a freak with super powers. Determined to atone for his selfish lifestyle, Reece takes on a dual personality and vows to pay back society by cleaning up the city, one bad guy at a times.
This is a fun, quick read with Angel's usual twist on the steam factor. I love the instant attraction between Reece and Emmalina. And what I love more is that where others in the hotel Reece runs think he's weird, Emma embraces it. I'm not usually a sci/fi fan, but I love Angel and knew that I would like this book. While this is the third book in the Misadventures series, it's 100% a standalone. I would love to see more of Reece and Emmalina in a future book!

I'm declaring the Misadventures Series, the perfect weekend read series of 2017. These books are seriously entertaining and completely filled with steamy romance you'll happily want to devour. Misadventures With a Super Hero is my current favorite of the series. A Super Hero love interest is such a fun plot device that is used entirely too rarely for my taste.
Emma works nights at a hotel. One night, her life takes an unexpected turn when she is saved by a Super Hero. Bolt inspires all kinds of dirty thoughts in Emma and she can think of very inappropriate ways to thank him for saving her. Bolt is none other than Emma's sexy, wealthy abs nerdish boss Reece. Sparks are flying between these two, but Reece has commitment issues and he's pretty busy trying to save the world. Luckily for him, Emma won't let that kind of thing stand in the way of what's meant to be.

This is the fourth Misadventures book and it stands out as a bit unique in the series because of its science fiction-y premise. It’s like erotica/romance for nerds/geeks and I am so here for it! It was super fast paced (though at times a little too break neck speed for me) and there were so many words (you’ll get what I mean if you read it). I don’t feel like I got to know the characters as well as I wanted to, but I think this is going to be a series and I will be reading it. This was smart, sexy, and fun and I can’t wait for more!! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

Wow!! What a fun, amazing, and sexy read in the Misadventures series!! This one, Misadventures with a Super Hero was so much more than I expected!
Emmalina(Emma) is the night shift manager of a swanky hotel in LA. She's never met the big boss before, but her co-workers think he's weird. Once she meets him though, she's floored by the unexpected magnetic attraction she feels for him.
Reece(Bolt) is the odd boss who keeps himself locked away in the tower of the hotel he owns. Up there, he keeps a huge secret to himself. He was experimented on-against his will-and now harbors what can only be described as super hero powers. After escaping, he uses his powers against the bad elements of LA. He has never wanted to tell anyone about his powers-until Emma enters his life. Unable to stay away from her, he realizes she is different from anybody he has ever met, and doesn't want to let her go. Can he come clean about his extra-curricular activities and tell her his secret?? Will it send her running to the hills??
This book was very intriguing and I loved the story as it unfolded! Emma and Reece were characters I enjoyed reading about. They had some serious chemistry sparking all about!! Seriously, they were a hot commodity!! The plot was interesting and I wanted to see how they could mesh their lives together and oust the bad guys!
Another incredible story in the Misadventures series! I can't wait for more!!

I'm not a personal whose reading preference normally runs to the fantasy realm but Angel Payne has changed my opinion.
A thoroughly sexy, escapist story of the Hotel Customer Satisfacton officer and the billionaire bad boy turned super hero.
Though complete fantasy, it was quirky and fun with huge slabs of sinfully sexy.
Reece Richards the Hotel Heir, finds himself on the receiving end of an extraordinary tale of good verses evil at the hands of The Consortium and their evil henchwoman Angelique La Salle. Reece also finds himself in another predicament, falling hard for his hotel customer satisfaction manager, Emmalina Crist.
A lot of fun and quite likeable characters make this a great addition to the Misadventures Series.
