WHY AREN'T PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THIS BOOK?!?!?!?!? I just don't understand why people aren't talking about this wonderful book. A Twisted Belief is some Throne of Glass, Grisha Verse, and ACOTAR level shit, y'all. Give this book a chance! If you like Leigh Bardugo or Sarah J Maas books, you HAVE to read A Twisted Belief. START READING AND TALKING ABOUT THIS BOOK ALREADY, PEOPLE!
Aww, man! Imma need a brand new wig, a box of dem tissues, and a whole lot of alcohol to get through the second book is this one was any indication as to what the future of this story has in store for its readers. This book is like a new flavor I didn't know I needed to taste until I actually got a bite of it. The men in this book alone had me high on adrenaline, and let's not even get started on the action, strategy, and romance. Man, I'm so frigging hooked, and I'm so looking forward to reading book 2 🙌
what a shitshow. I was a fool to believe the reviews.
how does this awful writing and senseless story have a better score than something like Throne of Glass? If only the author would spend the money on a writing course rather than buying fake reviews. I couldn't bring myself to read the entire book. when it comes to it, this will be the first book I burn.
I loved this book!! It had everything I love in a story and I couldn’t put it down. I read through most of it in one sitting and now I can’t wait to read the second one in the series!!
Talk about enchanted. This is it for me. This book was well written and absolutely one of my favorites. It truly stole my heart away. It's a definite 5 star read for sure. I can't wait to read more from this author. I was sucked in from the beginning of the story with the vivid descriptions. The characters were loveable and definitely memorable. As was the story. It's the kind of book you want to read in one sitting but I decided to savor it a little longer by reading slower as I didn't want the story to end.
I'll be honest. I struggled to connect with the first half of this story. This isn't my usual genre and Erica really pushed my buttons. I found Era frustrating. She made odd choices and felt spoilt.
And yet, something wonderful happened. Around the chapter 16 mark things began to click into place for me, and I realised that this may have just been the point.
Not wishing to give spoilers, chapter seventeen became a transformative chapter both figuratively and literally. The characters I couldn't connect with were left behind, the major players got their chance to shine, and Era suddenly became the woman I knew she should be. She stepped up in both confidence and strength and became someone to truly root for.
Pearl's descriptive terminology is beautiful, and once she hits the gas she doesn't let up. Her world building is engaging, the Empyreans are fascinating, and Ryan is great! Sorry not sorry, Aaron.
I'm so glad I stuck with this story and allowed myself to absorb it. Definitely a case where the second half rewards you for the time you invest.
I'm so happy I read this book. I hadn't read a fantasy in years and A Twisted Belief was a perfect way to jump back into this genre. Completely original and fascinating. The attention to detail was extraordinary. I felt like I was right there with Era about to face these crazy lizard-monsters and witches. The labor and love that was poured into this story, drips from each page. Every character is rich and complex. They are all so strong and powerful but also vulnerable in their own way. In this fantastical world, everyone still felt very real with human issues and emotions. I loved that. I will admit, I was not a fan of Aaron until far later in the book. Ryan and Vallian on the other hand, I was all for from the second they came into the picture. For awhile, I was a little torn between the two. Vallian has this dark side that I found very alluring but Ryan had me swooning from the jump. He's sweet and funny and you can feel his love for Era in every word. Total book boyfriend material. And that ending? C'mon! So good! I can't wait to read book two. I'm such a fan!
Erabella has it all, a loving family, a fiancé she adores, a loyal best friend. But when her world turns upside down, Era must make sacrifices so great that she could lose not only everyone around her, but also herself.
I don’t even know where to begin with this book! This book has it all! High fantasy, love stories, witches, warlocks, sea monsters....you name it and this book has got it! What a vivid imagination the author has to come up with such a unique, vivid world and such memorable characters.
If your a fantasy lover, and you have not read this, you’re missing out! I loved everything about this book! My full review is up on my blog. Www.turnthepageofbooks.
WHAT THE HELL, this book is absolutely amazing, I'm still speechless! if you want to read a book with everything you can imagine, a packed full of action, you won't get bored bc a lot of things happens and you are always shocked, really I'm not kidding! just READ IT PLS!
4.5 Read for me. I tend to be more drawn to romance reads, so when I was asked to read this I went in open minded. I liked this story the adventurers an love story tied in kept me interested. This book starts off slow but picks up about have way though.
I was hesitant to read this book because I'm not big on fantasy. I wanted to take a chance and see if I liked it and I was surprised that I did. Pearl's writing is a little heavy for me but that didn't mean I didn't it. If anything I found it very refreshing. Her writing has a vibe to it which went very well with the story line. I love the characters in the book. My favourite characters are Johan Forde and Wance Rador. I think they are very unique and lovely. I also like the heroine of this book. She grew a lot throughout the story which was good to see. I always love character devolopement. The adventure and greek mythology points were my favourite. It's a good book to read when at home and relaxing. I couldn't stop once I started. The book ends in cliffhanger so I'm excited to start book 2.
I never have the time to read, especially after having a child 2 years ago. The only reason I made this account was to support an old friend, Pearl. I read A Twisted Belief a week ago(Thanks for the copy, Pearl), and now I really want to read more. I'm in love with the story, with how different it seemed from some of the other stuff I'd read years ago. My review isn't biased, I promise. Pearl has a very nice way of putting things together, and her characters are so unique. They're funny, irritable (joking), and also very much loveable. I will be sure to read book 2, because why not?! 🤷💕💕💕
My rating is fluctuating between a 4 and 5 stars. I'm not entirely sure which one it should be so I'll come back to it later. I enjoyed the book and want to rate it properly.
Review without spoilers: This book was a waste of time. I thought I could look past the bad writing but there was so much with the plot that just didn't sit right with me. I truly tried to like it because there was a lot that could have turned out to be good but the author literally let the potential of the story go to waste.
I found the characters a bit void of personality but this was just me. Boring all together. Wouldn't recommend at all.
A very enjoyable read with a different yet interesting writing style. I found a duo paperback set online at a very high price but I guess it was worth it. It's a story worth giving a shot. Can't wait to read more by the author.
