Is the devil capable of love? Xavier doesn't do trust. He breaks. He kills. After living through hell, he's transformed himself into El Diablo, the baddest motherfucker around. His only weakness is the sister he lost as a child—the one Boss promises to help him locate. The only catch is he has to work for Killer of Kings and learn to play nice with the other hitmen. He does his job, determined to prove himself. Then she walks into his life, and nothing is ever the same. Alesha hits the jackpot when she's hired as Xavier Moreno's house cleaner. She has her own private suite, and the wealthy businessman is rarely home. Things change in a heartbeat when he comes home drunk one night, covered in blood, and telling her stories about murder-for-hire and a secret group of assassins. He also reveals a side so broken that she can't help but fall for him. Can a killer fall in love with his cleaner, or will he add her to his hit list?
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
I would have given this one 4-Stars but I am protesting ridiculously old virgins in books. This one was a doozy with a f-cking 27-year-old virgin heroine. Hello authors, it is 2018. Women are allowed to have sex lives...sigh.
Xavier is an assassin for a secret group of hire to kill men. He doesn't do romance or love or all that stuff. His one goal is to find his sister whom he lost when their mom sold them as kids. This is the next book in this series and I think I like this one the best so far. He hires Alesha to be his housekeeper and things go okay for awhile until one night, in a drunken episode, Alesha finds out what he does. There are twists and turns in this story that kept me turning the pages. Can Xavier afford to start a relationship with Alesha or will Boss stop it? And what happens when Alesha is hurt and taken away by Boss? Oh, this book was great. If you like books with men on the hard side of life, this should be right up your alley. Will Xavier ever see Alesha again? Will he find his long lost sister? What is Boss keeping from him? Oh, I"m not gonna say but advise you to just get the book and find out for yourself!!!
It was a while experiencing King of Killers worlds. I missed it. And we have El Diablo here. So, going in I wasn't sure what expect from Xavier aka El Diablo. Sure we meet him in previous book, but it's not always the case 'what you see is what you get'. Though I have to say, the saying is almost true in this case. Xavier just have a bit more to him. Something I haven't expected. Self-hate. I'm not sure if this is the right word. While he enjoys his work, he isn't so okay with what he sees when he looks in the mirror. While he wasn't 'a good man' in the past, but then he did what he needed to do to survive. It was a jungle law. Survival of the fittest. But while he sees himself as something not worthy of light, Alesha saw someone loving worthy. I had conflicting feelings about Alesha. She really had good moments, where she made me smile and happy with her actions. But... I guess for her it was normal to have conflicting feelings about Xavier and his world. Learning what he does and still to have feelings for him, it may felt wrong for her. Okay, I was happy that she didn't panicked and run away screaming. Lol. So, I think I had more problem how she reacted/acted in his world. Once again her reaction wasn't exactly bad, it just wasn't what I personally liked. And then there was one 'WTF?' moment, when my conflict ended. Alesha... She probably watched Wonder Woman recently, otherwise I don't know what she was thinking. Idiot comes to my mind thinking about it. And because of it I felt like she wasn't good fit for Xavier. Okay, this sounded like I'm talking about shoes. But you know what I mean. Of course, people learn from mistakes. But sometimes they don't. And in El Diablo world mistakes can be deadly. Let's hope Alesha is a quick learner if she wants to have forever with Xavier.
This series I absolutely love, the only issue I have with them is that its too far apart. When I start reading the next one, I have to get into that frame of mind of the killer of kings. A secret group of assassins... Xavier is one these assassins. He doesn't do romance he doesn't do love he is on a mission. Do his job and find his sister. He hires Alesha to be his housekeeper and things are fine until he accidentally spills the beans one drunken night. How will she react to this bit of news and what will happen when Boss finds out and takes her away??
This series is a good one, the only issue I have is with Boss I mean seriously he has lost 5 men before this and still he's doing the whole women threatening thing and what is he hiding from Xavier???? Definitely something to get in to... And Sam and Stacey when is Boss getting his book!!!!
The only good thing about this story was that it was better edited than Sam Crescent's other books. Seriously, it's hit or miss with her--like the name is just a front for a ghostwriting mill, and we get a certain quality of book depending on which ghostwriter writes it. I loved Smokey, Second Best, and Ugly Beast. I want THAT Sam Crescent to keep writing books. The one who wrote this one needs to take a writing course on how to engage readers without making the heroine a whiney, needy, naive, desperate bitch.

Alesha has had a hard life alone but she lands a gig as a house keeper to Xavier. Cleaning, cooking she hardly sees him and when she does he's dark mysterious and boy does she want him, Xavier has one mission in life find his long lost sister he is the new guy in the killers kings group and he isn't liked for many reasons.
A mission goes south and he goes home drunk and blurts out everything to Alesha instead of running she takes care of him..
Alesha I gotta say she was to naive for me.. out of all the woman she did some dumb stuff.. as for Xavier for a name el Diablo I thought he would be more darker.. but he wasnt for me.. I do love a broody man.. but ehh.. idk I think I'm more interested in xavier's sister!! And if shes the next book? I wouldn't mind her with boss!!
Instalove/lust Rough tough cold asshole alpha male Stubborn naive innocent curvy virgn gal No cheating (but alesha does kiss a guy but she wasn't dating Xavier and it was a mission) Push and pull Drama Background chara Sex Hea
Xavier is one of the toughest assassins there is and only his housekeeper, Alesha sees the vulnerable side he hides away. Xavier has been searching for his sister and doing whatever it takes to be reunited, even working for Killer of Kings. This is his one sole focus until Alesha comes into his life.
Alesha has landed a dream job! Live in housekeeper to a hot guy, even though he is gone most of the time. She's surprised to find out the dark side Xavier has but can't help to show him compassion for the vulnerabilities that he reveals. Together they rely on each other for safety, physically and emotionally.
The relationship between Xavier and Alesha was sweet and well written. Their differences complimented each other and you can't help but to root for their happiness. Overall, this was an enjoyable romance and well recommended!
I received an advanced review copy of this book from Evernight Publishing via Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Xavier aka El Diablo is a killer. He has been looking for his sister Graciella and Boss says he has information. That is the only reason to work for Killer of Kings. But the information that he received isn’t enough. He doesn’t have time for this. He has contracts to fill. He certainly did expect to have a housekeeper that was hot. Alesha lucked out. She found a great job. She very seldom sees her boss and has her own wing of the house to herself. But her fantasies about him are so hot. When she finds him drunk and spilling information about his job, she is intrigued. I love Alesha. She isn’t fazed by Xavier’s job or even his Boss. She stood by him and wanted to help him. She also changed him. Xavier wasn’t looking for a woman. He was content to be alone but with Alesha, he wanted what all the other members of Killer had. I was not happy with Boss. He keeps pushing Xavier’s buttons and he knows more about his sister. I am looking forward to the next book, Boss. We are going to finally learn about the man himself.
Fast paced story that holds your interest till the final word. This is a great story between the cleaner and the hit man. When he gets drunk and passes out and she takes care of him it is super sweet and a great turning point in their relationship. To see her break down his walls was sweet and to see his desire for her come alive on the pages of this book. I was a bit confused when they got to the storage area and her car is there? Did she follow on her own accord? Did she get abducted? Then what happen at the gun fire fight? We know they are getting ready to take down some bag guys but then we just moved past it he is getting yelled at and she is in the hospital. Then we move on again to 6 weeks later. Guess I am just missing something here. The ending is super good. Just what I wanted it to be and so much more that I didn’t know I needed! It was a great way to wrap up the book.
A fast-paced story that has Xavier who goes by El Diablo a hired killer coming home one night with bloody clothes and his new housekeeper Alesha cleaning his clothes and house just wondering what he does? Then one-night drunk Xavier spills everything to her and it is ruined. He does love her and she him but things begin to fall apart when she arrives at a hit and is also shot now the boss is upset with him and you wonder if the two of them will ever see one another again. There is also the underlying story of his sister which also gets revealed. Overall a good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com
Almost gave this 2 stars but just couldn't do that to Sam cause I usually love her books and I'm really enjoying this series but.....this one just didn't work for me. I'm not sure if it was Xavier or Alesha that ruined it. I can get over the fact that she's was a 27year old virgin but she acted so stupid....like beyond stupid. He drunkenly admits he's part of a secret assassin (which is also stupid but we know he struggles with his past and his rashness) and she decides to follow him and help?? I am seriously hoping we get boss' story.
Who would’ve thought the bad boy Assassin El Diablo would cave like this? Not to mention he fell for his housekeeper, I sure didn't. He only got with killer of kings to find his missing sister, but what he got is far more than he ever thought, he got a love of a good woman, an extended family (although they're all Assassins), he knows without them he's nothing......This story is well written and plotted, characters flows through well, these authors together always give me a dynamic story to love, nicely done🖤🖤🖤
El Diablo by Sam Crescent and Stacey Espino is book 6 in the Killer of Kings Series. This is the story of Alesha and Xavier. Alesha hasn't had a easy life and when she lands a job cleaning for Xavier she thinks she it the jackpot of jobs. Alesha never sees him and she gets good pay. But then one night everything changes. Xavier's mother sold him and his sister when they were young. Now is is a trained dangerous killer who is looking for his sister. Xavier doesn't do love or relationships but then he hadn't every met Alesha before. Enjoyed this book.
Who knew the go together so well. Killer hitmen with heart and soul. Women who could see the need and vulnerable wants of their man. Sam and Stacy wrote a great series about the lowest and the highest need people have survived and still show only love and caring can heal. I love all their stories, the make you get involved in each and every stories. The characters become real to you. You feel for them and want the best for them!
These two are too cute together. She is the soft to Xavier’s hard. This was not boring. It had plenty of action and anticipation. I couldn’t wait for them to get together. Now all we need is the Boss’s story. I’m patiently waiting for this book. Since he is the head of KOK. I’ve read all of the others: Killian, Viper, Xavier, Shadow, and Bain. Now I just need one more... Boss and perhaps The Widow Maker.
Xavier lived a life of violence ever since he was a child. Looking for his sister who was taken from him has been a task he won't give up. When he hires a housekeeper he never imagined he would begin to see her different. People are expendable but when he makes a mistake the thought of her being hurt guts him. Can he dream about having something with her, a family? He knows what he must do to protect her and he hope he will come out alive.
I wanted to like this book. I really did. I think the story line had so much potential. But the dialogue just irritated me. It was so forced and proper....not at all what I imagine an assassin would sound like. I went several paragraphs without even graphic language! I didn’t even finish it which irritated me more because I paid for it.
I gave it a three mostly because Alesha has a really "too stupid to live" moment. What she does seems out of place. I could have seen her being in the situation because she was lured there, however she goes on her own. Otherwise, I enjoyed the story.
This is the first of the Killer of Kings series I read. I will add the others to my TBR pile.
This is the sixth book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. Xavier was broken and he came back to life as El Diablo. He will do whatever it takes to get his sister back. What will happen when Alesha discovers his secret? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and emotion. Great characters and steamy chemistry. I loved it!
El Diablo’s real name is Xavier Moreno, a hard core killer who is recruited to work for Killer of Kings. He gets an assignment to some event and decides to take his housekeeper as his date. This is their beginning….really enjoyed this read. Xavier has a softer side which is really endearing! Good story.
The storyline was short but entertaining and sweet, The characters both suffered from their pasts yet found each other when least expected. I loved Xavier and Alesha, didn’t but suited eachh other. Another great read to add to this series.
These two very talented ladies have brought to us an amazing series in Killer of Kings and El Diablo is an incredible addition !! I really enjoyed this book !! I can not wait to descendants next 💛
This is either just a good series or I'm really liking sam crescent book. I've purchased 3 in a week and I belong to kindle unlimited so I could be reading elsewhere but I cant stop. I think its the preview of the book right at the end. They give you just enough to capture your interest.
I’m at 52%. El Diablo, no, more like el crapo. I can not stand this series. And this book has annoyed me too much that I have since read three other books and I still don’t want to go back to it.
