Wanton Disregard

Wanton disregard is what this author has for the use of good language. The use of profanity does not make good literature.

This was an interesting book. I liked the main characters, especially Lauren and Mulrooney. The setting was also nice. The book started out really well, but the plot sort of went off track for me about halfway through. A couple too many plot twists. And the endinging wasn't really satisfying to me. And while most scenes were believable, there was one particular scene (I won't tell) that was not at all believable. l

This book was one I wanted to finish as I love a good detective story/thriller. But between the multiple gruesome murders, bad language, and the porn element this isn’t a story I would recommend. Towards the end it felt like the author was rushed and killing more characters off just to add to the body count. The story line was interesting and while I had an idea pretty early in the book who the bad guy was and I was right, the author did a good job creating doubt about my choice.

Many Twists and Turns

Gwen Banta's "With Wanton Disregard" is a gritty thriller that takes the reader to some bloody crimes that baffle law enforcement. A prominent doctor is murdered in bed, making his estranged wife a prime suspect. But it goes deeper and entangled others as a detective faces a deadline to solve the crime.

THIS REMINDED ME OF SOME MY FAVORITE OLD MOVIES, THOUGH IT WAS MODERN. IT HAD THAT FEEL TO IT AND I LOVED IT. SIGH! POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE, MALTESE FALCON, DROWNING POOL AND CHINA TOWN ALL ROLLED, SMASHED AND TWISTED TOGETHER. MULROONEY IS A FUNNY GUY, FAT FREE DOES MEAN FLAVOR FREE. LOL! THIS WAS REALLY GOOD, I LOVED IT. ;D

This was a fast moving tense story. Manipulation ran high, no one could trust anyone. No one is whom they seem. Tim and his partner work well together getting to the bottom of the murders, with a few missed steps along the way. Entertaining, fast read.

Exciting

This was an exciting read that held my interest from beginning to end. More care could have been taken with the editing as there was several sentences that did not make sense.

"Good character development"

There are a lot of things to like about this book, and the headline is one of them. For my taste, the blood and gore, and excessive use of bad language spoiled the overall effect. As for the final chapter, did the author have a prior appointment? It felt rushed.

Riveting

This story was quite a package. The plot was complicated but well-thought-out, and the suspense kept me reading to the end, far into the night. The snappy dialogues and descriptions of the chief character's thoughts were hilarious. Would enjoy more by this author.

One more time

I am flummoxed. This book was good, not so good, exciting, dragging, intense, boring. Maybe the genre of the whole thing was not my fancy. I will try another by this author to be decisive enough to have a real opinion.

Good mystery but too much profanity

This was a very good mystery with good characters. I didn't like all the vulgarity and profanity. And one little detail was left hanging.
