Trinn Ma'allard has fought an octashark, survived a shipwreck, met the legendary mermaid Queen Ortonfrohn, and fallen into the clutches of a witch from the Sisterhood, Constance Rei'cain. Constance isn't as she first appears, but Trinn needs her help. Trinn's quest to avenge her murdered sister, Aura, leads her to the Dreadwood, and Constance is the one who can lead her there.
But can the mysterious Dreads really help Trinn? When she tries to enlist their aid, things don't go as planned. For the Dreads are beholden to no one... or so they would like people to think.
Part 4: The Dreadwood picks up where The Nomad left off. Dive into a tale of magic, adventure, myth, and legend… all the things that make Janelle Garrett’s Steward Saga an unforgettable story.
This story is getting so good and the stakes are so high! The inner conflict inside of Trinn is reaching its peak. I love this super personal journey and I love the moments of reflection and conversation that Garrett is sneaking into the narrative. This is a powerful story for anybody who has been wronged, felt like life is unfair, or wanted to take justice into their own hands. The full-length novels in this series have multiple POVs. But I have really loved sticking with Trinn through this dark, heartbreaking journey. It is a journey well worth taking.
Justice: The Dreadwood: A Steward Saga short story, my seventh read from author Janelle Garrett. An outstanding, highly detailed short (36 pages) work. I look forward to the next read from her. Up next: Justice: The nEW nAME: A Steward Saga short story. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Trinn is such a relatable character, and no, I haven't done what she has, but her drive to seek atonement on her own terms is very relatable. I'm excited to read the next story.
