To begin this book is not just your normal romance, it is one hot romance wrapped in an emotional tangle. So many emotions will grab at you. The author made this a story that grabs at your heart while keeping your head entertained. Make sure to keep a box of tissues handy.
Moody Brock is a MMA fighter who he fights hard for whom he truly loves and does what he thinks is right. Moody had feelings for his best friend’s sister named Izzy but he ended up destroying his relationship with Izzy . See, Izzy has always had deep feelings for Moody, she has always loved him and they had this one fantastic and deep night together but Moody ended up pushing Izzy away from him which made Izzy leave—for 4 years.
Fast forward 4 years later –Izzy is getting married to this stupid jerk/idiot (In my opinion) and when Moody finds out he realizes he isn’t going to let this wedding happen and let Izzy marry Jason, the jerk. He knows he isn’t good enough for her but he isn’t going to let he make this mistake.
The story moves along with more intrigue, more secrets and more fighting between Moody and Izzy but at the same time we have a lot of sexual tension and angst , and passion between Moody and Izzy. There is this bond between them that 4 years cant erase. Moody isn’t going to let 4 years and one stupid mistake cause Izzy to make an even greater mistake. Watching how hard Moody fight for his love, for Izzy was so beautiful and the emotions between them brought the tissues out. I felt so bad for Izzy reading about the pain she felt 4 years before and it was hard , because trust was lost between them and then watching Moody show Izzy he was still the man she fell in love with all those years before and can still be again. Izzy needed Moody when she lost Griffin all those years before and now he is back , will she give him another chance or will she let him walk away and let her heart slowly die out? Will Moody let Izzy go and give up? All I have to say is this is one emotional and complex read and the sexual tension and passion between this couple could light multiple fireplaces for months, that is how hot and ready to go they are. I really loved the complex job the author had at communicating their feelings when these characters had so much going on and she got the point across. It was a great read and I loved the ending, it was so worth it.

This book featured a H that brutally rejects the h after taking her virginity. Then shows up to chase after her, 4 yrs later, when he finds out she is engaged to a guy he hates. During the separation, he sleeps around and even picks up women while he is chasing her.

If you love reading the older brother's best friend/second chances themed romances, Moody by C. M. Seabrook is the book for you!
My first thought after finishing was that it wasn't as intense or in depth as her two previous books, but don't let that deter you from reading it. Sometimes lighter is where it's at.
Moody made some very stupid decisions that could have ended in the loss of his best friend. That did destroy the relationship between him and his friend's younger sister, Izzy.
Izzy has always loved Moody, but after their one intense night together he pushes her away.
Four years later, Izzy's getting married to a real douchebag (my words, not the authors) Moody's not going to let that happen. He might not think he's good enough for her, but he's not going to let that stop him from finally claiming her.
Their love for one another was beautiful, the sex was sizzling, and there was just enough drama mixed in without going overboard.
This is the third book from this author that I've had the pleasure of reading, and once again she managed to snag me from the start and keep my attention until the very end. I did not want to put it down.
I look forward to many more stories from this very talented writer in the future.

Ok this book just went to my top favorite...do you have any idea how tough that is to do...

As much as I Loved Fighting Blind book one about Theo and Mac OMG Moody's book was so so so much better,
Moody is one of those wonderful people that would give you the shirt off his back and ask for nothing in return, he is an ex Marine,
he is a fighter, yet he has a wonderful deep soul. Isabelle sees this in Moody, she has been in love with Moody since she was 12 years old
her brother is Moody's best friend, One night after a horrible fight where her brother is hurt badly Isabelle and Moody hookup, Moody feels so guilty about His best friend.
4 years later Moody realizes that Izzy is getting ready to get married to someone that is HORRIBLE, Jason, She has no idea who he really is and Moody knows deep down that Izzy is his, has always been and will always be his. This book will make you cry, it will make you mad. and it will bring tears of Joy to you at the end. I cannot wait for the next book.

C.M. certainly has a handle on this whole MMA-romance thing! This book was HOT, emotional, and addicting. I couldn't put it down!
Izzy and Moody had a history. While I wasn't so sure how they as a couple would play out because of that history, I started rooting for them shortly after.
Moody was a great hero. I loved when he realized who he truly wanted, and that he would stop at nothing to have her. And Izzy, facing similar trust issues as Moody, was his perfect match.
The story definitely had some twists that I wasn't expecting, and a very suspenseful scene towards the end that really sealed it for Izzy and Moody.
I liked catching up with Theo, Mackenzie and Logan from Fighting Blind (not necessary to have read that book to enjoy this one, but it's an AWESOME book too!), and I CAN'T WAIT to catch up with Izzy and Moody in the next book!!!

First person, Dual-POV, HAE. Can be read as standalone.
This book was yummy. As usual, I'm reading series out of order, but I base my habits on blurbs and how much they jump out at me. Second chance love with best friend's sister. MMA fighter. Yeah, allll over that.
And it definitely didn't disappoint. The story was actually suspenseful, had a bit more depth to its characters and had me rooting for our characters the whole time. Plus, these two together... the heat factor is off the charts.
A fast, fun read. Recommend for fans of damaged heroes and never giving up on your first love.

Did not like this one.
Moody is the story of Moody and Izzy.
4 years ago after a MMA fight that left her brother with a brain aneurysm rupture, Izzy gives her virginity to Moody. He, on the other hand is filled with guilt and crushes her heart, leaving her.
Four years later, she is engaged to an asshole when suddenly Moody decides he can't live without her.
I'm wary with second chance romances and this didn't work for me. It's unrealistic for characters to remain faithful when separated and that's what happened with this book.
The chemistry between leads was average.
One extra star for epilogue

Absolutely feel in love with Moody!!! This man has made his mistakes and has blamed himself for years. He has good intentions and puts everyone ahead of himself. He broke Izzy's heart and fought like hell to get her back!!! Such an emotional read that I could not put down until the very last page!!!

This story is a classic storyline of the sister having feelings for the brother's best friend but Seabrook adds a twist. Moody knows he shouldn't do it but he sleeps with Griffin's sister. Since he is basically a playboy who doesn't feel that he deserves anything good in his life, Moody pushes Izzy away the next morning.
Fast forward to four years later when Izzy is getting ready to be married to a really bad man and the good in Moody surfaces and he is ready to settle down and be a one woman man.
I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down once I started it. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review and I honestly really enjoyed it.

This is the bad boy fighter in love with his friends' little sister. Thinking he's not good enough for Izzy and blames himself for her brothers situation he abandons izzy leaving her feeling dejected. Fast forward 4 years and Moody still has feelings for Izzy but she's no longer available. Which is problems on its own when izzy can't deny her love for Moody and breaks off the relationship.
Lack of communication and self worth between the 2 makes it difficult for them to move completely forward.
C.M. Seabrook is a new read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed this introduction. Makes me thirsty to read Fighting Blind (Theo & Mac's story).

Moody was Awesome! Once I started I had a really hard time putting it down until it was finished.
Moody is a strong alpha type who is also very protective of the ones he loves but he doesn't think he deserves to be loved and have something or someone special in his life. That is why he pushes Izzy away everytime she gets to close. That is until he realizes he might loose her forever to someone else.
Now he wants to fight for her and damm I love that.
This book had me on a roller coaster of emotions. I was smiling and in tears.
it's a total must read I promise!

3.75 stars. This was a decent read from an author that is new to me. The writing was solid and flowed nicely. The storyline was refreshing and kept me turning the pages.

C. M. Seabrook ritorna con il secondo capitolo della sua serie Fighting Blind, questa volta è il pugile Moody il protagonista che dopo un grave errore cercherà di riprendersi la sorella del suo miglior amico. Dopo anni sarà difficile riconquistarla perché Izzy è andata avanti.
Andiamo a conoscere la loro storia.
Moody Brock sul ring è il Distruttore e ha tanti sensi di colpa con cui convivere, prima di tutto non riesce a perdonarsi di aver combattuto con il suo miglior amico Griffin anni prima e di averlo ferito. Poi di aver ceduto all’attrazione. e non solo, verso sua sorella Izzy per poi lasciarsela alle spalle. Ma ora è tornato e dopo averla vista insieme al viscido ma soprattutto poco di buono Jason non può più tirarsi indietro e riconquistarla sarà il suo unico obiettivo. La chimica è ancora lì tra i due e tutta da esplorare ma sono tanti gli ostacoli da superare, non per ultima la sfiducia che ormai Izzy prova per lui.
‘Questo è Moody. Forte. Arrogante. Moody Brock più grande della vita. Un uomo che sa esattamente come usare quel suo corpo perfetto sia dentro che fuori dal ring.’
Isabelle Stewart è un medico, ha studiato tanto e ora la sua professione le dà molte soddisfazioni anche se le porta via tanto tempo. Di questo ne è contenta perché non può permettersi di pensare a cosa le è successo, Moody non le ha solo spezzato il cuore è stato molto di più. Ora può voltare pagina con un nuovo ragazzo che non le scombussola gli ormoni come faceva Moody ma le promette stabilità e quella serenità di cui ha bisogno. Ma non è a conoscenza di tante cose che riguardano il suo fidanzato, il fratello Griffin e soprattutto il suo primo amore che è tornato per riconquistarla, il sexy Moody.
‘Dio, lei mi fa male al petto, mi fa sentire così tante cose. Cose che non ho mai provato per un’altra persona. C’è un’interezza nello stare con lei. Il pezzo mancante della mia anima.’
Inizia a interessarmi quest’autrice, questo volume mi è piaciuto ancora più dell’ altro, una lettura veloce ma ben equilibrata. Succedono diverse cose, alcune più scontate altre meno, e l’autrice non ha mai dato troppo spazio ai loro pensieri per dare priorità agli eventi dando ritmo alla lettura. La parte hot è molto presente, in una narrazione non particolarmente lunga è stata una parte molto corposa e ben descritta, Moody sa essere un amante veramente lussurioso e Izzy una partner non da meno.
‘Non c’è mai stato niente che sia paragonabile al suo tocco. Crudo. Primordiale. Potente. Mi attira, intrappolandomi in uno tsunami di piacere.’
Moody ha sbagliato tante volte continua a farlo ma è altruista e non ha molta fiducia in se stesso, il che lo rende umano e gli atteggiamenti che adotta per tentare di riconquistare Izzy sono davvero convincenti. Izzy erge dei muri con lui che a volte abbassa per poi innalzarli di nuovo, è stata troppo scottata da lui ma quando avrà il quadro completo di quello che succede sarà difficile non capitolare ai suoi piedi.
È stato bello ritrovare Theo che avevamo conosciuto nell’altro capitolo, allenatore di Moody e modello per lui, con la sua famiglia felice.
Ci sono poi delle belle vibrazioni tra l’amica disinibita di Izzy, Kate, e il fratello problematico Griffin, insieme sarebbero sicuramente un bel mix, speriamo che l’autrice scriva anche il loro libro.
Lo consiglio, un bello Sport Romance e anche un’intrigante storia di seconde possibilità.

A shattered past, broken dreams and hope for healing make for a heart wrenching emotional read!
I really loved this book. I want my own swoon worthy Moody. So much so that I can’t put a thought together right now. I’ll start of by saying Izzy and Moody are one of my favorite couples ever! I really loved their journey toward their HEA.
Izzy has always loved Moody. They shared one passionate filled night together when Izzy gave herself for the first time to the man she’s always loved and wanted a future with. Moody, the sexy godlike MMA fighter who loved Izzy didn’t believe he deserved her so after their night together, he let her go and walked away. Leaving Izzy devastated, shattered and having to deal with circumstances she didn’t expect. Did I mention Izzy is off limits because she was Moody’s best friend’s sister? Oh yeah…..
Four years later, Izzy finds herself engaged to be married to Jason. She’s starting to question everything because she has never been able to stop thinking of her one true love, Moody, the man whom she gave her virginity to.
At her engagement party, Izzy unexpectedly runs into Moody and sparks fly….. She tries not being affected by his mere presence but it’s a losing battle. Moody can’t believe Izzy is going to marry Jason, who in his opinion is a loser and mixed up with all sorts of illegal activities. It’s at that point that Moody understands he made the biggest mistake of his life when he walked away from Izzy four years ago. He decides that he won’t make that mistake again. He’s determined to make Izzy his woman and will stop at nothing until that goal is met.
Izzy begins to question how can she marry Jason knowing she doesn’t really love him. She’s not going to let that happen. If it were only that easy. Jason proves to be a dangerous piece of work who now shows his true colors… He’s not afraid to show it either….
And that’s were things start getting really good. What happens next you ask? I’m not telling. You will have to buy the book to find out. No spoilers here. I will just say that it involves secrets and lies and danger lurks close by. What happens when secrets are revealed that, in Moody’s eyes, could be a deal breaker with Izzy. Will Izzy’s brother, who has made trouble for himself and Izzy, especially Izzy, be able to right the wrongs he’s done to keep them safe or will Izzy be forced to make a decision that puts her into a bad situation? Will Moody figure out the dangers out there and be able to protect Izzy. Will they be able to find a future together? Can Moody accept the fact that certain events in his past were not his fault, let go of the guilt he carries, be able to let go of the past and find his future with the woman he loves with every breath he takes?
This story is so good, it will make you laugh, cry, scream and cheer for Izzy and Moody. I loved that we got to catch up with characters Theo, Mac and little Logan from the 1st book of this series. I’m hoping for more stories on the other characters in the book.

4 Star Read:
Among some of my favorites. Outstanding literary work. The characters are well developed, interesting. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. The writing is captivating enough to keep you interested until the end and leave you wanting more. It has a fairly original or uniquely well-developed plot. The pretense and romance were well balanced and done with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors, and chemistry. Not so much predictable if at all. Overall, loved it, I recommend reading!!

Cuteness level 25!!! I knew I loved Moody in book one but come on, how can you not love him even more here? And Izzy was a doll, a fun quick read.

Moody is an emotional, sexy second chance romance. Moody and Izzy have a sizzling connection that doesn't dim with time. One night 4 years before, Izzy gives Moody her virginity and they indulge in a sexy romp in the sheets, but Moody makes a stupid decision to send her away right after. It breaks her heart, but she goes. Now he's back and when he sees she's about to marry a douchebag, he knows he can't let her. He still doesn't think he is good enough for her, which is the whole reason he sent her away after the night they had 4 years before. But he's damned if he'll let her marry a loser like Jason.
Intrigue, secrets and more fighting move along this fast paced story. That and the emotional and passionate bond Moody and Izzy share. I love how hard Moody fights to get Izzy back, to get her to trust him. And I love how strong and sacrificing they are for each other and the people they love.
If you like second chance romances, bad boy fighters and/or little sister/older brother's best friends romances, I highly recommend you 1-click Moody!

July 29, 2024DNF at 28%. The H was just too much of a douchebag for me. What he did was unforgivable in my opinion. Book starts out 4 years in the past, right after the H took the h's (his best friend's little sister) virginity. This was after he put her brother in a coma during an MMA fight, while he was drunk. She initially resisted him because he was drunk until he sweet talked h into it, then the next morning, blows her off and treats her like a one night stand "to protect her" Why do authors write men this way and why would any many think this? Once you've broken the "relationship seal" meaning slept with her, involved yourself in a relationship with her, ect, You can't put the genie back in the bottle, you can't now "protect her from you" by leaving her and treating her like shit. At that point you are more the poison than the cure. Anyways, douchebag does this, treats her like shit, immediately goes back to his manwhore ways while h is completely broken. Good thing he's protecting her🙄 Four years later, she's engaged to someone else and H comes to her engagement party. He doesn't like the guy she's engaged to, so he suddenly decides he's going to get her back. She 'resists' but it is the feeblest attempt and after her fiance cheats on her, she's back in dudes arms and that was as far as I got. At point, I realized I was going to be disappointed with his H no matter what at this point and so I just called it there.

A good read. At first, I wasn't sure if any of these characters could be redeemed. They all kept secrets that hurt each other, the H, h, and her brother. As the story progressed, though, you learn that everything that happened was out of love and trying to protect the people they cared about.
There was not much actual fighting or training in the book. It focused mostly on the characters, the romance, and the tension with the antagonist. I usually like to see more of the action in the gym or fight club, but this book worked without a lot of those scenes.
I loved Second Draft by this author. Moody wasn't quite as good but still an enjoyable read. I have a couple of other books by the author in my tbr list and look forward to starting them. I would recommend this one for fans of the MMA genre who like character angst and redemption stories.

Moody was a quick, easy read that I absolutely loved. I read it in one sitting. This is a brothers best friend love story. It has it all drama, betrayal, friendship and most of all love. I loved the relationship and chemistry between Moody and Izzy and the sex was HOT!!!! This is the second book I have read by C.M. Seabrook and I liked the first one and love this one even more. Definitely recommend reading this book.

It has a lot of similarities to the first book.
Truthfully, Izzy didn't strike me as a doctor. She did some over the top stupid things to be as smart as everyone kept saying she was. Moody was stupid too if I'm being honest.
Having said that, I liked both of their characters. They were real and genuine. They have a sweet heartwarming, sometimes painful, relationship.
I recommend.

Moody è un personaggio stupendo.
Theo era un bel personaggio, Moody ti entra nel cuore e non ti lascia più.
Isabelle è agguerrita, vuole proteggersi, lotta contro il suo stesso cuore, ma alla fine si arrende: lei è di Moody.
Davvero un bel libro e un bel "seguito", anche se i due possono essere letti separatamente.
Theo era un bel personaggio, Moody ti entra nel cuore e non ti lascia più.
Isabelle è agguerrita, vuole proteggersi, lotta contro il suo stesso cuore, ma alla fine si arrende: lei è di Moody.
Davvero un bel libro e un bel "seguito", anche se i due possono essere letti separatamente.

Ho aspettato questo romanzo per mesi.
Ho sfinito Martina chiedendole ogni volta quando avrebbe avuto la grazia di regalarmi una gioia e farmi felice.
Pensavo di essere pronta ma non ho fatto bene i miei calcoli,se volete leggere una storia piccante ma piana di passione questa è quella giusta.
Un amore chiuso in un cassetto che torna in un presente diverso per riprendersi ciò che gli appartiene.

La loro vita è cambiata ma il sentimento che lì lega è ancora vivo dentro e brucia con ardore e,anche se entrambe tentano di tenerlo a bada non ci riescono.
Un matrimonio che salta ed un ritorno che salva.
Moody Brock è un concentrato di rabbia e dolcezza,un uomo che sa ammettere le proprie colpe ma che non è disposto a lasciar perdere ciò che brama.
Il suo personaggio non rispecchia affatto il bad boy eppure mi ha fatta impazzire. Che sex!!!!!!!!!
Non sempre ligio al dovere riesce a toccare le parti più intime della ragazza che ha allontanato per anni,quella che ha baciato e non ha mai dimenticato.
Isa è bellissima e fragile.
Intrappolata in una vita che non la rispecchia accompagnata da Jason,un grandissimo stronzo. Moody per lei rappresenta dolore ma allo stesso tempo libertà,la possibilità di una felicità costante e protettiva.
Ci sono stati due punti specifici in cui mi sono proprio addolorata per entrambe,perché nessuno meriterebbe di affrontare un dolore così grande.
Sono stata assolutamente soddisfatta e ripagata di tutta l’attesa.

Older brothers best friend and second chances.
I was looking forward to Moody's story when I had glimpses of him in the previous book. I enjoyed this story but not as much as the first book.
When Izzy and Moody become close they have a night were he takes her virginity. The Mornin after he's a 1st class A hole and breaks her heart.
Moody doesn't see himself as good enough for her but poor Izzy doesn't know his motives when he treats her like a one night stand.
Fast forward a few years and Moody attends Izzys engagement party.
The sparks re-ignite as soon as they are in close proximity to each other but when Moody meets her fiance, someone who is far worse than be could ever be, a guy who is into some dodgy dealings unbeknown to Izzy. Its then that Moody decides to fight for his girl, get her to like him again and has huge regrets about letting her go in the first place.
There are a lot of twists and turns in the plot, danger, hotness, second chances. There's also lies and deceit when Izzy's brother gets himself in deep debt and turns on his once best friend Moody. There's certainly a lot going on to keep you interested.
I loved Moody's character, he's a humble guy. Izzy was a bit wishy washy at times. I prefer strong willed women with backbone.
Overall MOODY is a good story that I enjoyed listening to in audio. Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea.
