About the author

Harper Bliss is a best-selling lesbian romance author. Among her most-loved books are the highly dramatic French Kissing and the often thought-provoking Pink Bean series. She is the co-founder of My LesFic, a weekly newsletter offering discount deals on lesbian fiction.

Harper lived in Hong Kong for 7 years, travelled the world for a bit, and has now settled in Brussels (Belgium) with her wife and photogenic cat, Dolly Purrton.

Listening to this Harper Bliss anthology was a real treat. In the Arms of a Woman: A Short Story Collection gives you no less than 28 sizzling scenarios of lesbian lust. And Bliss knows her stuff. Some I knew, but most I didn't. Narrated by the very capable and sexy voiced Melissa Moran, this is best savored in small increments to really appreciate the artistry here. One or two stories before bedtime is just what the doctor orders ;-)

This collection should come with a public health and safety advisory. Something along the lines of "Warning! May cause spontaneous human combustion!". If you suffer from a heart condition it might be wise to refrain from reading more than one story at a time. Also, do not, I repeat, do not, read this at work. I snuck one in during a quiet moment and, while it was a delicious midday escape, the rest of my afternoon was a total loss and I really can't recall much of what was discussed in that production meeting.

But if you want to treat yourself to some really well written erotic short stories then grab this one with both hands. Okay, maybe just one hand, the other one may be busy...

Five star smut!

Twenty-eight stories worth.

I usually like my smut to be long with plenty of character insight and angst, but this collection of short, blistering hot women-loving-women tales pares that away and gets straight to "the good stuff". And it is very very good stuff.

I've read this collection over about three months and loved it. Stories run the gamut from casual/first meetings to established relationships, mostly sweet with some workplace , age gap and dominance/submission. If this sounds like your thing then you'll probably enjoy these stories. Very recommended.

I had previously read a handful of stories that appeared in this short story collection but I still enjoyed it. It’s a good collection of steamy shorts. This author definitely knows how to heat up a scene relatively quickly. I usually lose steam through these types of books because short stories aren’t really my thing, but I actually finished this vs Erotic Interludes which I never fully got through.

This is definitely erotica at its finest; Harper is known for her great ability to write very sensual and sexy scenes, this short story collection is absolutely extraordinary.

Loved each and every one of the stories, left me completely enthralled and totally flushed. Fair warning, this is a book to read in private, definitely not to be read in public. There’s a bit of everything…sensuality, sweetness, tenderness, domination. You can find 28 stories to quench your thirst for premium erotica.

It is simply brilliant. If erotica is what you love, this book is the perfect and absolute read. I enjoyed greatly, also I think some of the stories can become novels. I was definitely craving for more of some of the stories. Hopefully Harper will indulge us with this wish.

I loved the book and it is one I’ll be reading over and over again for sure.

Oh wow, this is erotica at it’s best because my face stayed flushed long after I finished reading the book. Each story touched me so deeply because there was a blend of sensuality, domination and tenderness between these delightful characters. I’m always overjoyed whenever this author writes enthralling and unique short stories.

Erotica at it’s best, I started reading on my daily commute and I had to stop, this collection of varying erotic stories is best read in the privacy of your own home. Harper Bliss is so good at evoking sensuality, domination and tenderness in a short span of time. This is a perfect book if you love Erotica and also a little time poor, you get to read a entertaining short story in no time and there are 28 short stories to choose from.

I enjoyed every single story in this book because they were written in many different scenarios. Heck I loved this book and I just added it to my MOST LOVED AND WILL REREAD A MILLION TIMES collection. I recommend this book because it has a great variation of romance and definitely more.

Not for the faint of heart

This is definitely erotica not just easy going lesflick. If you're looking for that, dive in! If you'd rather experience the erotic spliced into an engaging storyline with developing characters, then read Harper's novels.....they deliver. But these are "shorts" just emphasizing the erotic and for that they're excellent.

This is Erotica at its best, it is a great collection from one of the best authors. Definitely not to be read in public. In fact, I would recommend setting your shower to ice cold as after reading this collection you will definitely need one. Out of all the stories I had only ever read one of them before that i can remember. Some of them I think would make excellent full length novels (I just wanted to read more of them stories). Definitely one to re-read over and over again.

Have been reading this collection for a while, just one or two stories at a time. Some of them are, well, very niche... not always to my own personal taste, but in general there's a lot to like here. And a lot to get you very hot and bothered. If you've ever found yourself skipping forwards in a lesfic romance to "get to the good bits", that's not something you have worry about here. The good bits are never very far away.

my bad for grabbing a book labeled erotica without really checking the label. i was expecting something more a-la Raymond Carver short stories. this is just about the sexual interactions and very explicit. i'm not really a fan of erotica literature like this. DNF after the first 3 of the stories, when i understood that this was all gonna be the same.
the fact that some of the characters (at least) are gay women is nice, though, not sure how much of this is around.

Absolutely amazing collection of short stories. Each one offers a completely different topic. They all have various levels of spice. Bliss's writing is amazing and I guarantee you won't want to put it down. There are even some stories I wish she would turn into full length novels, they are that good.
