A post apocalyptic sci fi thriller with heart for fans of The Walking Dead.
Join the ragtag group of misfits on a cross country trek in search of safety in a world where zombies aren’t the worst thing to survive.
Good grief! I REALLY wanted to like this story. I even read about half way through the series before I couldn't take it any more. I've read tons of crappy zombie stories because I love the genre; but this one had to be put down.
A typical zombie story, with some guy who is practically a superhero. Anyone else in his position would have died a dozen times over. But not this guy. Apparently, enough rage can allow a person to kill a dozen armed men with bare hands - several times. Seriously, it appears that nobody left in the world, even armed with weapons of all kinds, can stand up to this scrawny guy when he's trying to find his kids. Give me a break.
But worse than that: the spelling, punctuation and grammar errors almost made me sick. Thousands of them. And sentences missing words. And disconnects in the story line that conflict with each other. It is as if the author wrote the story and never once thought to read through it a second time.
Ugh. I really wanted to like it, but an interesting story line can't make up for a child's writing and editing.
This story could be good though. Mr. Lowry, go edit this thing and try again. Since you didn't bother editing at all, I can see why you've had time to write a thousand other books.
Battlefield Z (18-139) Orlando, Miami, Tampa FL, NY, Atlanta, GA, LA, CA, Dallas, San Antonio, & Houston, TX were all overrun by zombies. Peggy “Peg”, Brian, Deb (40), Julie, Scott, Melissa, Harriet, Dena, Hannah, Anna, Grumpy, & Doyle were discussing their future plans for existence. Safe shelter, food, water, health care necessities, & transportation/fuel. Brushy Beard, Private Buck, & 2 other soldiers were raping Melissa. Deb had been shot. Scott was next. Harriet & Peg dragged Julie away from the front seat where she had been hugging her dead husband. The truck ran out of gas because of the bullet holes in the tank. The group traveled on. Children's Brigade (142-262) Anna loved to drive. The group stayed west of I-75 & crossed into GA. Hannah had managed to get away from religious nuts that were going to sacrifice her to God, Peg was now Brian’s partner. Mrs. Hooper & Dr. Carter had been brutally mauled to death by the zombies. The kids were holed up in a school building. Sweet Home Zombie (264-436) Byron explained to Anna the boys (survivors) were his Brigade. The group also had to be aware of Bandits & Marauders. Wynn, Bubba, & Overalls had plenty of weapons/ammo. Zombie Blues Highway (441-566) Ft. Jasper was behind us. Boles introduced his cousins: Tweedle Dumb & Dumber. I introduced Leon & Dion. Jean brought us some brew & food. Mardi Gras Zombie (568-666) New Orleans, LA. Warren Cotton (Krew of Mardi Gras, history teacher) greeted the group when we arrived. Everyone relaxed a little, no Zombie’s yet. Bluegrass Zombie (669-)776 Byron & his boys: Bo Bistan, Boy, Bem (15, son), & Nick went out in search of jet fuel. Brian, Anna, Byron, & Hannah were nowhere around. Outcast Zombie (778-906) Kinji (pup) came with a price tag, another female Mel, but they became part of the family group. Renegade Zombie (908-1016) Brian & Anna assured they would help find her kids Bem & Tyler. Bem & Tyler looked at each other & started laughing. Stroud & Gregory came to collect. Everglades Zombie (1018-1133) Anna introduced herself to Raymer. Julie introduced Louise “Lou”. The survivors fight their way across a vast wasteland where zombies aren’t the worst thing to survive.
I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.
An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. 8 very professionally written post-apocalyptic zombie book. They were all quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. They could make great post-apocalyptic zombie movies, animated cartoons, or better yet a mini-TV series. Wasn’t really my type of genre but a teen would love it, I’m only going to give it 3/5 stars.

fantastic series need more stars need more stories
This series of books tell an ongoing story but is complete in every book. You have a core of people but that can change as reality hits and they get killed or more join the group. Each has a story but they don’t always come forward easily. But life isn’t easy with the Z’s now in our lives and the third world country conditions in standard for everyone. Everyone trying to grab a piece for themselves and a few friends. If they can hold it. Need lots more stars and bigger bladder to go in my 24 hrs did not want to sleep. Now hunting for more stories
An interesting set of 9 books, fast paced, full of people trying to do the correct thing for their families, some successful but some not, I enjoyed the whole set, meeting a lot of different characters, I made me think about what is important. Really enjoyable, with some dark stories, but some hopeful.
Gruesome, horrific, yet funny at the same time. If this was edited, they did a horrible job. Wrong words, like spell check gone haywire. Chris Lowry, if you need someone to edit/proofread your next book, contact me, I'll be happy to help.
This Zombie Apocalypse is a great series and excellent to have the whole set so you can just keep going! Well written story (needs some better editing - though don’t let it stop you) - lots of good characters. Looking forward to more from the author.
It was a wonder the main character survived with everything that happened to him. I did enjoy reading this anď certainly liked the different characters.
Loved the story all the way through make sure to get the whole series. Some people had issues with typos but if you are in the story it doesn’t matter.
