Hes has one no matter how gorgeous they are, she doesn’t get involved with any friend, or business partner of the Kings. They’re nothing but trouble, and she won’t jeopardize her career for a man. The rule serves her well, until Edmund Ashworth, the royal pain in the neck of a British lord who seem to think he owns NYC. Edmund wants a piece of Kings property, a place at The Tower, and a night with Hester Hall. He can have the first two for a price, but Hes is determined to ignore their consuming attraction. It should just have been harmless fun, an entertaining challenge, nothing more. But when he peeks under the surface, Edmund gets a glimpse of what he stands to lose, should he mess it up.
Mai has always loved creating stories. When one of her middle school teachers asked for two pages about an invented battle from The Odyssey, she handed in ten, and couldn't stop writing afterwards. In 2015, she finished her first story and decided to make it available online under her pen name May Sage. A year later, she was able to make a living doing what she loved full-time. After writing fast-paced novellas for several years, Mai moved into more complex novels and series. She loves reading and writing across multiple genres, as long as the heart of the story is an epic romance, so in 2020, she created her alter ego Emm Darcy to write dark romance. When she isn't in the writing cave with her four spoiled fur babies, you can find Mai reading, cooking, baking, briefly becoming obsessed with a new craft, watching musicals and the ballet, or going to the cinema.
This book is a short story about Hes and Edmund. She works for Desmond and he is interested on buy something from him but he also got something else. This is a short story, fresh and without big drama especially after Desmond book. I enjoyed this book as the others. You can see a little about other characters of this serie. Waiting for Callum’s book!
In PiF we are going back to The Series involving King's brothers and THE TOWER! Yes you read right The club is back, but... it had not Played The role like in other books. Yet this one was such A Great addition to The Series. Hester is a strony independent woman but like ale of us she has Her own demons and insecurities. Which made Her so real as The was well... running everything. Ed is an a$$ from The begining, but we get warmed toward him while reading. Both of them are each others march and exacly what they needed from their partners!
This is a short novella in the Kings of the Tower world. Desmond's PA Hester is taking over for Des while he's on paternity leave for the next year and she has to deal with jerks all day long in her job, but Edmund is particularly irritating insisting he will only speak to the man in charge. After a month of putting him off till he got the point she finally meets with him. Naughtiness ensues.
Play It Filthy (ARC) by May Sage: ***** a quick entertaining read I love Hester’s story! Ed starts out on the wrong foot with her, but once he realizes the situation he changes course. And then the relationship build between Hes and Ed is perfect, with a nice sizzle. A good story with a nice HEA.
Stepping back in to the world of the Kings and the Tower for another great story. Hester and Edmund are such an excellent match and are written very well. A few editing spots that need touching up but overall a fun quick read.
Can i get my money back? I enjoyed the previous books but thus one barely started. Then it was over. It is as if the writer wrote the first couple of chapters, went on holiday and came back realising.. "My assignment is due tomorrow!" So disappointing.
A delicious short read. Hes and Edmund's chemistry is palatable and their dialogue is great. Once again I enjoyed every word and can't wait for the next book.
I found this book a little lackluster compared to some of the others in the series. Maybe it was just too short? I had a hard time really connecting with the characters. It also lacked much smut. Regardless, it is a decent read.
I really enjoyed this whole series and can not wait to read king of kings. Each couple had a very interesting twist that kept you you enthralled I just didn’t want to quit reading. I will recommend this book to all of my friends.
I love Hester. Really. I love how strong and independent and smart she is. I even like her insecurities, because no one is perfect. Edmund is just what she needed. I really enjoyed this story.
The story was good and next thing I know it is over. It is lime all I got was a little taste of good story and then a hurried ending still liked it but too short
Another great book. This is one of the best BDSM series I have read. The twist and turn of rich and every day people who find themselves in love is a great story.
3.5 stars. I feel that we weren’t given a full story here. I always enjoy May Sage’s books, but I feel that this one could have taken us further into an exploration of Hester’s desires as a switch.
