Fate can be a real bitch sometimes, that’s what Dylan Aeddan believes. She buries her parents after a tragic accident takes them from her just weeks before she’s set to graduate high school. She doesn’t believe in happily ever after – not anymore. At least not until she meets him. Jensen is every girls fantasy, and way out of her league. But every time he gets near, she fears that he might just set her soul on fire. Can she come to terms with who she is and hold onto those left in her life that she loves? When an old enemy from her parents past comes back to threaten her new beginning, Dylan will have to trust her instincts in order to find her happy ending.
"Grab me a shot of whiskey. These books are about tattooed men and guns!"
Welcome to the world of LC Taylor. An International and USA Today best-selling author, who's an unapologetic down-home southern gal, with a bit of a dirty mouth. But... she's never met a brooding hero she didn't love. She writes her men cut, tattooed and tender, for their down, but-not-out ladies, who just need a little love from the right man. When she's not writing her Crossroads Heroes series or indulging her darker desires as her alter ego Dori P, she curls up with a glass of peach crown and her very own sexy tattooed cop on the couch watching reruns of Chicago Fire.
Blurb: Burying my parents was the hardest thing I had to do… or so I thought. Then I met Jensen and the unexplainable happened. Every time he gets near me, my body feels like it might burst into flames. Falling in love wasn’t in my plans... but neither was turning into a wolf or falling in love with one.
I wish the family secret could've stayed buried. But when an old enemy threatens to destroy everything – I'll have to come to terms with who I am and save the one person I can't live without - Jensen.
A must read for paranormal romance lovers! Dylan the heroine of the story is on the cusp of her eighteenth birthday when she looses both her parents in a fatal car crash. She's devastated and fears she'll never recover until a new boy named Jenson comes to her school and shakes her world. Their attraction is powerful and instantaneous. Dylan doesn't know what to make of it, but she can't fight the powerful pull she feels to be with Jenson. He claims she's his life mate, but Dylan doesn't understand what that means until she learns a hidden secret about herself, her parents and other loved ones in her life. She discovers she's a shifter, a wolf and so is Jenson. Her parents were too but they never got around to telling her. Now Jenson, his mother and a beloved family friend, Tessa help her come to terms with who she really is. Just as she's coming to grips with this Jenson is kidnapped by the crazy alpha of a rival pack. On the cusp of that Dylan learns another secret about herself. Plus she's racing against time to save Jenson. This wasn't a long book, but it was a gripping one. I couldn't put it down. Now I can't wait for book two in the series. L.C. did a great job with the story and the heat between Dylan and Jenson was epic and sexy. I loved that!
So, I was going through my audible library and I realize that I have a lot of books that I haven't listened to yet. So I decided why not this story. I read the synopsis and I was intrigued. While listening to this story I realize that this is more of a young adult flash paranormal versus just a straight paranormal read. I don't do very well with young adult only because it seems weird to have 18 and under doing adult things.
Since this is a YA book there are a lot of insecurities that happened within this book. Dylan has doubted herself from the very beginning up until the end. It gets exhausting really quickly. Since this is a young adult story it is understandable but again I don't tend to listen to a lot of this genre so it gets very frustrating and very old quick. Once I got past that I enjoyed the story.
When this story started I was a bit taken aback that both of Dylan's parent dying within the first two pages. I get that it is going to set up for the rest of the story however I was not expecting that at all. I listen to a lot of paranormal romance so having Dylan and Jensen 'fall in love' with in a week is not surprising to me I was a bit surprised that they had relations so soon.
There were a lot of secrets that were revealed within the story and a lot of questions that need to be answered as well. I did read the synopsis for the next 4 books so I kind of have idea of who the stories are going to be about and I do hope that the questions that were brought up and not answered in the story or answered in the upcoming books.
SN: it was never mentioned if Jensen told Dylan about her parents. That is a question that should have been interred within the story but there is a novella between this book and book 2, Wretched called Woven. I hope that Dylan finally gets to know what happened with her parents.
Adelaide Skye did a pretty good job narrating. This is the first story that I have heard from her narrate and she did a pretty good job. I would listen to her near another book and I hope that she continues to grow.

I really fell Into this story. Normally insta love books slightly bother me but this one did it in a way that made it make sense. I aporeciated that. The secrect kept from herself of being a shifter and losing her parents and finding her mate alone made a good story line. Add in the danger race against time more self secrets and awsome writing and you won't want to put it down. This was a quick read but had enough meat to be a great one. I will definitely be reading all the books in the series!!
An eighteen year old goes through alot of changes in her life all at once. The loss of her parents, graduation she learns she is a shifter has a weird attraction to the new kid in school. Then her mate is kidnapped by a rival pack she is just learning more about herself trying to build a new family, just more of teen read.

This started off well and at a good pace, but midway through I started to get lost in all of the revelations. I also have a hard time with a virgin who is suddenly super experienced & comfortable with naked activities. For me it takes away from the natural flow of a story. So while I liked the characters very much, there were some personalities that were inconsistent and the story lost its flow. Good outline for how things would happen just lacked a bit in the execution.
As of last week, for all she knew, Dylan was your typical teenager with loving, normal parents about to finish her senior year of high school. This week, she is now all alone in the world, her parents killed in a tragic car accident. She is floundering, not sure how she is going to get through this but she has her best friend Carly and her mom's best friend Tessa to lean on. When she goes back to school she finds that the lady that has taken over at the school to replace her dad is actually nice and seems concerned about her, maybe she will be able to handle this, expect that her son Jensen seems to be taking an interest in her, which is strange because guys are never interested in Dylan. That is not the only change that is about to rock Dylan's world on the eve of her eighteenth birthday. Woven (The Mystic Valley Series) (Volume 1) is a young adult fiction paranormal story of shape shifters and coming of age, making choices, romance and life and family. Author LC Taylor has developed a well rounded story that focuses on the teens in this book, but has the options to focus on the adults more in other volumes.
Woven (The Mystic Valley Series) (Volume 1) is a series about an area of the country that is home to a group, or pack, actually two packs of wolf shape shifters, these shifters don't experience their first shift until they turn eighteen, a slightly different concept than most shifter novels. This first volume I would label young adult as it is focused on the teens, Dylan and Jensen, Kai and Carly and as they are all just eighteen this could also kinda fall into that coming of age category. It has aspects of family and friends, building a life from a group of people that mean something to you, blood or not. Taking care of your own. It is a really good book, but there is some consensual sexual relations between mated pairs in the book, so I would advise adult or older teen readers.
Overall, I enjoyed this story. There was a lot going on…shifters, magic, family secrets and tragedy.
I think the characters acted a bit older than their eighteen years and things happened a bit to quickly at times, but the story was entertaining and held my attention throughout. I’m excited to see what happens next.
Adelaide Skye did a good job. I do wish she would have changed the voices between the two main characters a little bit as there were a few times I wasn’t sure who was talking.
This is the first book in the Mystic Valley Series. The story ends with a cliffhanger. Haven and Tessa's story is well written. The are both great characters. The supporting characters are intriguing. The storyline is original, and interesting. Adelaide Skye does a good job with the narration. She has a beautiful voice, but the characters weren't easy to distinguish. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Wretched. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Dylan loses both of her parents at 18 and they kept some very important secrets. It's the new boy in town, Jensen, who causes her to learn these secrets. Just as they are about to figure things out violence strikes. Yet another roadblock to overcome to get to their HEA. This was a quick read and well written. I liked the character details and look forward to the next book.
This is a beautiful book. Dylan and Jensen are great character's who really come into their own over the course of the book. Dylan is struggling with her parents death. Unsure of how to live her life. When Jensen sweeps in on the back of his Ducati everything she thought she knew is about to change. The characters are written with great heart and feeling. I highly recommend this 1st book in the series and I can't wait to read more.
Relatively good start to a new shifter series for me. I like Dylan and how "real" she is but she does get a bit obnoxious w/ jensen when she self doubts non-stop. This is pretty typical w/ the YA shifter books BUT this book has elicit sex scenes similar to adult books that don't feature HS aged characters. A lot goes on at the end. No spoilers. A lot of new characters get rushed into the last few chapters so it is enough to hook me to find out a bit more about them.
I really enjoyed this. She has a family tragedy when her parents are killed. She wants to be left alone but meets a boy who steps into her life in a big way. She learns some new things about herself and what she means to him. Then more trouble comes along. I recommend it. I was given a review copy by Book Sprout and voluntarily reivew it.

A well written paranormal story. I like the story line and plot. It has well described and developed characters. I like the mix of normality and the paranormal. It is well balanced. There is chemistry and hot scenes, passion and drama. The attraction between Dylan and Jensen is amazing.

This is book 1 of a series and it ends in a cliffhanger, so be warned! The story itself was a great paranormal romance read. The characters have depth, the story is interesting and the author created a great world for it all to take place.

I am totally in LOVE with this book. From the first few pages, I was just pulled in. The author is a phenomenal writer. She is so descriptive in this book. It makes is really easy to picture the whole thing in your head as your reading/listening. I listened to the audio version, and the narration was also pretty perfect. Overall, I am a HUGE fan already. I can't wait to listen to more!

Intriguing Hot Shifter Romance Woven : book 1 of the Mystic Valley Shifters is addicitive I was hooked with this first book in the series. This story will surprise you with unexpected. I dont like spoilers or I'd have so much to say. So what I will say Its a must listen I highly recommend it.
This book was interesting and was a easy book to listen to while relaxing. I love the whole idea of destined mates. It's been an interesting read and makes me look forward to the next books in the series. The author has a nice writing style and the narrator did a good job.
Could have been better. The main characters were 18 but she acts like a 10 year old because she gets offended so much. Quite annoying. An 18 year old is more mature. Just saying 🤷♀️
