Destiney doesn’t always get it right the first time around.
Rebel Alpha concludes the Aloha Shifters: Pearls of Desire series beautifully giving us a sweet second chance romance and wrapping up the overall arc that has gone on.
I would recommend reading this series in order to get the best enjoyment and understanding of the characters and world. If you want a much fuller picture I’d suggest you start with the Aloha Shifters: Jewels of the Heart and then read Aloha Shifters: Pearls of Desire. One major arc starts with one series and continues on into this one, but you can read the series separately as well.
As always Ms. Lowe took me on an emotional journey. She has a way with her writing that pulls at my heartstrings and I always end up teary eyed or in some emotional conundrum. She brings out the characters pain, joy, love, etc.. It’s a roller coaster ride that always captures me.
Cynthia has been with us since book one. She’s the stuck up follow the rules person who doesn’t know how to have fun. Her past and her love for her only son is what keeps her caged
Cal is the lone wolf the rogue the one no one wants their daughters to get involved with. He’s secretly been protecting Cynthia and her son for years.
Cal and Cynthia’s second chance at love was so heartbreaking, but also so loving. We learning why these two broke up even though they are true mates. We learn what each has been doing throughout the years and we see them both finally learn to forgive and love again. It was a journey of self discover for Cynthia and a journey of coming home for Cal.
Rebel Alpha is a lovely conclusion to the series giving us a charming second chance romance with a little action, suspense, and lots of love.

For lovers of fantasy set in a modern world, this book will surely entertain! The plot is exciting and full of action, and the shape-shifting aspect of the story is definitely unique and intriguing.

Just so you know I would give this a 10 star rating if I could! Man am I going to miss Hawaii and this bunch of ragtag if not hunky shifter, but hey we're going to travel to Europe next, how exciting!
This has got to be the most exciting, surprising and full of "shout for joy" story of all the Aloha Shifters series.
Who would have thought that prim and proper dragon shifter Cynthia had such a past and now it's come back to her with a vengeance and there is nothing she can do to stop it because her dragon, not to mention her heart, won't allow it. She discovers not only things about her Joey's father Barnaby, but about herself too and Cal, you can't leave him behind. That's where he's been for the past 12 years. Behind the bushes looking out for her and Joey!
Wolf shifter Cal has always been on the outside looking in, but no more....It's time to come out in the open if he's to defeat the strongest threat against the love of his life, even if she tore his heart out 12 years ago. Love has a funny way of giving in no matter what.
Will Cynthia, Cal and all the shifters of Koa Point be able to finally put an end to the evil that has been plaguing them for so long.
Lot's of love, passion, action and unity.
Congrats on a great series Ms. Lowe can't wait for the next!

Book 5 and last book in Pearls of Desire series by Anna Lowe
I’m absolutely gutted I’ve finished this series even though I loved previous series this is my favourite especially with Joey and Cynthia.
Cynthia is a posh Dragon with dark secrets everyone knows her by second name Brown but everyone also knows that isn’t her name and she comes from an old wealthy dragon line. Joey is her adorable son that Cynthia is desperately trying to raise in a happy childhood but also to keep him safe.
I love the prequel book 4.5 rebel heart to this book it give this one so much background and a look into a layback Cynthia.
Love how the bad guy gets it in this book. I won’t give too much away but it’s spectacular. Fantastic narration as always by Kelsey Osborne. I hope we get to meet Joey again in another book love his character.

Wow what a closing episode for The Pearls of Desire. I love second chance romances, witnessing the reunions despite guilt and feeling all is lost. despite all of those feelings at heart they still loved each other which opens the door to reconciliation.
Unknown to Cynthia her deceased mate Barnaby had contact with Cal and made him promise to protect Cynthia and Joey. Her parents forced her into this mating for the bloodline. Moira, Cynthia's cousin was jealous and evil at heart. Lies Moira told made her think that Cal had moved ob while she still pined for him.
Can Cal and Cynthia find a way to get past all of these things, can they stop Moira's evil plans for Cynthia and Joey. I'm not giving anything else away. Just know that I thought this to be explosive and filled with action and romance. If you have never read this author I encourage you to do so because she sucks you into the story and you feel the same way as the characters.

What a great ending to the series! I was deeply involved from the beginning, especially after I'd read the prequel to this (Rebel Heart is a bonus novella). I loved how intense the feelings still were between Cynthia and Cal were, even after all those years apart. I loved how Barnabas' spirit was still part of their lives through the danger and afterward. I really, really loved that Moira was totally destroyed!

I really enjoyed this story. Hearing how Cynthia reunited with her destined mate, Cal was a perfect ending to this series. I love how great he was with Joey. It's obviously he loved the boy as much as Cynthia. The rest of the crew's reaction to Cal was pretty awesome as well. I love how it divided along gender lines.
I'm really enjoying Kelsey Osborne's narration. She's improved her skills with each book.
I'm looking forward to the new series!

What an exciting and fulfilling end to the Aloha Shifter series. I have waited patiently for Cynthia’s story and I was not disappointed. I hate to see this series end but I know this author has even better books tucked away in that fantastic brain of hers.

There aren’t’ many times that I’m left speechless after finishing a novel… but “Rebel Alpha” has managed that feat quite easily. I knew the finale to the Aloha Shifters Pearls of Desire and Aloha Shifters Jewels of the Heart series would be an amazing wrapup of all the stories… I simply had no idea how true that would actually be.
Throughout this series, Cynthia has been at the middle of everything. We know only that she’s in hiding, that she is obviously a high-born dragon shifter and that she has enough secrets to furnish a mansion with. We’ve seen cracks over time, a smile slipping here, a kind word spoken there, maybe a bit of a knowing look shared with another of the women of the pack… but for the most part, Cynthia has been standing alone in her guardianship and protection of her son, Joey. She’s had the help and love, in their various ways of showing affection, from the other shifters for her son. They would die to protect Joey… and the final battle is soon to be upon them. We’ve also seen the melancholy, the pain and the loneliness of Cynthia as well. She is a dragon without her mate, but that is about to change for the final parts of the prophecy are yet to be revealed, and her love is about to return to protect her up close and personal. Cal is on Maui, and nothing will keep him from his mate’s side again… not even a pack of overprotective shifters.
There aren’t adequate words to express how much I loved “Rebel Alpha’. And that is perhaps a good thing for this is a story that you need to experience firsthand for yourself. If you have followed this series then this is a must read. I can tell you there will be epic battles, shifter postering, secrets revealed, friendships strengthened, families grown… and one couple will reunite as they always should have been, mates living finally in peace and love. I loved every moment in this world… and I’ve definitely got my eye on what Anna Lowe is up to next.
I would highly recommend these connecting series to any Shifter Romance reader who loves a good story, intriguing situations, interesting characters and a roller coaster of a story. If you don’t know what I’m talking about then look for Aloha Shifters Jewels of the Heart to get started on this amazing journey… you will not regret one second of this journey.

Anna Lowe has, once again, shown her mastery in this, the final book in the series Pearls of Desire.
Cynthia Brown is the co-alpha of the clan of shifters of Koakea plantation on Maui. She is the descendant and heiress of a mighty dragon clan but she was forced to take her son, Joey, into exile after her husband was killed by unscrupulous dragons after their combined fortunes. Since then she has lived every day in fear of discovery; not for her sake but for the life of her son. The other motley crew of shifters are all ex special forces and, slowly but surely, they have all come to look in each other as family and family is to be protected. If Cynthia has one regret it is that she was forced to marry her husband by her parents because she had already met, and fallen in love with, her true mate. Unfortunately he was a wolf shifter and from ‘the other side of the tracks’!
His name was Cal Zydler and they met when her car broke down on the side of the road. There was an instant attraction on both sides and they became lovers. When she refused to marry the man picked out for her because she had met her fated mate her parents verbally bludgeoned her until she gave in.
Cal never got over her loss and went in to track down and kill every evil dragon that he could find. He has found out that the gang that killed Cynthia’s husband have discovered where she is and are preparing an attack.
When Cal turns up looking for Cynthia her clan go into protection mode! Cynthia has to assure them that he is not a threat. Cal and Cynthia both quickly realise that the mating urge is still there but Cynthia can’t just accept it. When she sees how good Cal is with Joey her heart melts just a little bit more.
Cal accepts that he has an uphill battle with both Cynthia and her clan but it is more important to him that he convinces everyone of the danger so that plans can be made to protect her and Joey.
There is a lot of action and romance although the latter is more in Cynthia and Cal’s minds to begin with! LOL! But you can bet that Cal is determined to eventually have their ‘happy ever after’ no matter what he has to do to achieve it.
This will appeal to any Anna Lowe fans and also to readers of action/romance stories set in beautiful Maui!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Of all of Anna Lowe’s shifter series stories that I have read, and I’ve loved each more than the last, none was as satisfying, heartbreaking, pulse-pounding, funny, sweet, sexy, or powerful as this story. Cynthia may have been high-born, but she really gets the chance to shine as a powerful Alpha in this story. She learns the truest lessons of love—of many kinds, sacrifice, swallowing one’s pride, honor, faith, passion, loyalty, and family. While she and her dragon mate weren’t destined, she learned just how far his love for her and his family went in the form of Cal, her destined mate. Despite all that Cal had been through over the years since he and Cynthia were forced to part, he still managed to maintain his sanity and fight for the love of his life and her son from another man. When they finally came back together, it was all I could do to scream and jump up and down. Moira got everything that she deserved and then some! I did scream then. I was so caught up in the story that I forgotten that there were people near me. By the time I had gotten to the end, I was disappointed—not because it wasn’t a great story. I didn’t want their story to end. Anna Lowe writes characters and stories that can get you very easily emotionally invested in them and their well-being from the first stories they appear in. I don’t think that Cynthia could have had a better story than the one she had, and I really hope to see her, Cal, Joey, and the shifters of Koa Point and Koakea again.

You will need a new box of tissues - trust me!
I have loved each and every one of Anna Lowe Aloha Shifters: Pearls of Desire, but this book tops them all. The way that we find out all about how much heartache Cynthia has endured, and continues to do so, and just what her husband Barnaby sacrificed for her and for their son Joey, and not just his life. Oh my goodness the emotions that this book drags out of you is emense and I didn't even know that snot could come in that colour! (Too much?) Nah - you'll find out just how hard it is to breathe when your eyes are red, puffy and itchy through the rivers of tears, when your chest hurts from the sob you're desperately trying to hold inside and your throat is sore from the yells and encouragement you are desperately trying to swallow because you're an idiot and refuse to put this book down to go to bed and it's 4 am in the morning and you know that if you shout and scream and yell in jubilation, then the rest of your household will cart you off to the funny farm! Annnnyway I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Yes it had me crying my heart out but it also had me laughing so hard that I snorted and it had me screaming in my head so loud in triumph that I have a massive headache (or is that the tears?)
Anyway I couldn't and didnt pit this book down.

Yes it had me crying my heart out but it also had me laughing so hard that I snorted and it had me screaming in my head so loud in triumph that I have a massive headache (or is that the tears?)
Anyway I couldn't and didnt pit this book down.
What a brilliant end to Cynthia's tale.
Phew, I'm drained all emotionally like but boy was it worth it!

This talented author has created an astonishing world in this series “Pearls of Desire, there are character crossovers but each book is complete and standalone, sadly this is the last book in the series and I found it to be an intriguing & suspenseful second-chance dragon shifter romance.
The characters are unique & exceptionally well-developed with individual personalities. At times they entwined fairly well with each other, and reacted with varying emotions to the situations they found themselves in. The story-line & plot is extremely well-thought out and written with outstanding scene descriptions & some unusual occurrences.

Cynthia has been feeling strange or nervous for the last couple of weeks but today is the day she is out of control but she cannot understand exactly what's going on with her she thought she heard a motorcycle will get the shock of her life a good one but one she is so not prepared to deal with but her mate Cal Zhydler a true Warrior of dragons who has been working to protect her for many years he wasn't happy about it but he would do anything for this woman and has come to the Island and he has come to protect her and her son Joey from Moira and her new band or monsters, she also has a new associate and they both seem to have their own plans as to who is going get what they want. What they want may not be so easy to obtain. But whatever happens they will have to go through Cynthia's pack mates and Cal first. There is a lot that Cynthia doesn;t know but she will find out and will realize that her cousin is just what she has always been known as Evil and Selfish. There is much she must do once she realizes her sneaky cousin has threatened her child, but she has her man and her ancestors as well as her friends to back her up, only she has to stand up for herself this time. This is absolutely one of the best stories and well worth the wait to find out if the Dragon Princess will get her happily ever after. I was given a copy as a gift from the author without obligation. I am providing an honest review.

Stunning Conclusion to the Aloha Shifters, Pearls of Desire series!!
Dragon-shifter Cynthia has been somewhat of a mystery throughout this series. She is highly protective of her young son, and does not interact easily as she organizes the others around her. Cynthia followed years of dragon protocol by marrying dragon-shifter Barnaby the father of her son, who died protecting their son Joey. When her destined mate wolf-shifter Cal comes to Maui stating she is once again in danger, she learns he was never far away and watching over her for some time.
“Cal lifted hi muzzle, and that was like the good old days, too. But instead of howling in glee, he let out a long, mournful cry. To human ears, the sounds were nearly indistinguishable, but she’d learned the difference, and it gutted her. His howl was lonely and devoid of hope. I really enjoy the premise for this series, it's very entertaining! The whole series has been wonderful! I believe this is the last book in the series, so I'd recommend reading from the beginning. There are previous characters, so I think it's best, but each book is about a different couple. In Rebel Alpha, we get to see prideful dragon shifter, Cynthia, find love with sweet and wonderful wolf shifter, Cal. These 2 have a shaky past, so they have a bit of work in front of them. Plus, there is the added issue of dangerous people out to get the shifters of Koakea. Cynthia had a long way to go with me because I hate the fact that she chose duty over love. She really hurt Cal, who is beyond loyal and amazing. She's also a bit cold towards him in the beginning and she mentioned that she didn't want the other shifters to know about Cal and Her, so I really disappointed in her. I can tell she really loves Cal though, and she just made a huge mistake. They do have a really sweet romance, and they are passionate. As I said, Cal is really wonderful. The action scenes were great, and the writing flows wonderfully. It's also great to see how past characters are doing! Loved this series! Great finale

The whole group we have come to love are out in force for the final confrontation.
Our very quiet and secretive Cynthia Brown comes out of the closet with a bang.
Cynthia and Cal are destined mates who met 12 years previously but parted under family pressure. Cynthia has lived with guilt and self-recrimination for years. Her only solace is her son Joey. The whole reason for her past decisions.
Cynthia’s destined mate comes to Koakea on a mission and so much sadness, regret and turmoil is bought into the open to be dealt with.
Cal has been on the edges of Moira and Joey’s life, protecting them from afar, no matter how it has deadened his heart to do this. He has lived only to protect and avenge Cynthia against her enemies. His supporter in doing this is a big surprise.
Moira and her evil are dealt with. Other players are bought in and we are looking to veer off into interesting territory.
Though I am sad that the Koakea Plantation shifters have come to an end, I am excited at where I think Ms Lowe is going to take us next.
This is my honest review of this book.

I have enjoyed the series and have been excited to learn more about Cynthia. She is very secretive and the character least likely to reveal her past. She is a wonderful mom but very fearful and you know there is a reason for that behavior.
This book answers the questions I had and is a great ending to the series. It reveals the real Cynthia and it is great to see her get a chance at her own happiness. She gets quite a few surprises along the way and really learns more about herself and just how strong she truly is when she needs it to protect those she loves.
The author did a great job of presenting the characters and their past mistakes in a way that made it easier to understand their tough choices. It could have easily gone in a different way if you didn't get the chance to really learn about their feelings as they tell their story.
I highly recommend the series as well as the author's other paranormal romances. I have never been disappointed.

Alphas come in all forms
Joey stole the cake when he protected his pack. He fought with the strength of his mother and the skills of the special ops men of the pack. He made Cal proud. Cynthia was a beast. Cal opened up a can of whoop are while protecting a 6 year old Joey. All I can say, it kept my captivated from the beginning to the end. It had so many twists and turns but really good ones and I'm one for sure will not be giving them away but will tell you that you will not be disappointed. I swear you will be enthralled just like I was. I was so happy for Cyn and her new bff to come to terms and him to have her back. It was good Cal knew he was not the only man in her life that had her best interest but the only person eliminated her bed. I would not want to be on Cyn's bad side ever. The only thing that could have made this offer this if they ride off into the sunset in like one of those old times movie says with the scarf flowing playing"Dream a little Dream by Etta James"(hint, their song) priceless.

Wow! How do you possibly express absolute and total bliss? This book, the final in the Aloha Shifters: Pearls of Desire series, is a stunning example of the wonderful work of Ms. Lowe. The book will not only have you reeling with it’s consistent pace and slow build to its climax, it will give you the feeling that you are there, as one of the wonderful characters, that will melt your heart and steal it away. If you haven’t read the rest of the series, don’t worry, it is a standalone, but bear in mind that you will get so much more from it if you have read the previous episodes prior to this one, and I’m absolutely confident that you won’t regret it.
This is the story of Cynthia and Cal, and lets not forget Joey, as they desperately try to move on from their pasts and all of the pain that includes. Will they finally be able to find their happily ever after forever? Or will Destiny have finally met her match? Beautifully written, this tale will not disappoint.

Book 5 in the series . The main characters are the wolf and a dragon . The dragon is an alpha dragon , Cynthia, who is in hiding , from her cousin , Moria , who has been after her for a long while . And the Wolf who is a wolf , Cal , who has sworn to protect Cynthia no matter what. Cal is an Aloha Wolf , but he doesn’t feel like belonging to a pack .
The goddess played a cruel joke on Cynthia and Cal, even thought they are destined mates , one true love , Cynthia had to marry an older dragon . And Cynthia has a child .
Cal tracks Cynthia .down in Hawaii, her last name has changed , she’s also surrounded by the other shifters in the previous stories , Cal has found out who Moria has teamed up with to take Cynthia down. Cal has to convince Silas the dragon alpha that he will never hurt Cynthia . Grab it and see who else is after Cynthia. Do the evil dragons track Cynthia down ?

Cal has loved Cynthia for years and has secretly protected her and her son from vicious enemies intent to wipe out their ancient dragon family lines. With an attack imminent on Maui, Cal must move closer to be effective.

The latest, and last, instalment of one of my favourite book series of all – needless to say I devoured it in no time flat! I still love the stories, the characters, the location and the world Anna Lowe has created here just as much, only now I have to shed a tear at leaving them all behind. The only light at the end of the tunnel is that the next series is due to be set in the same world, albeit half a continent away and with almost all new characters … I still envy Silas, Cynthia and their crews their wonderful homes on Maui, all safe within their communities, with their pack all on hand, ready to die for each other, and yet with individual homes just far enough apart not to impinge on each other’s privacy, living with their destined mates and families with stunning views and some of the world’s best weather. Boy, do I wish I were one of them! Oh, and this book is great, as usual!

Omg, I LOVE Anna Lowe and I LOVE this series!!!! I've been waiting forever (it seemed) for Cynthia's book!!! And it was certainly worth the wait!!! She finally got her happiness, and I must admit to some tears when she first saw Cal. And I've adored little Joey throughout the whole series. How far she came about her attitude concerning Joey and trusting the other shifters to care for him for even a minute from Book One to Book Five. And it's always awesome how at the end of every book, they all came together for a meal and to celebrate the latest pearl found. I guess bottom line, I love these 2 series about shifters in Hawaii. I'm always sad when the final book comes out, as much as I love them. I try to make it last, but nope, I usually devour them in one sitting!!!! At least we have the new series Fire Maidens to look forward to!! And I DO!!!!!!
